The Storm Sister is about Ally D'Apliese, the second sister in the family. She is a great Ocean/Sea navigator and a former flute singer who studied at the Music Conservatory.
When Pa Salt died, she was taking a trip with her newlywed Theo and was shocked to see Pa Salt's ship on the waters, getting away from them. After she failed to contact him or anyone else on his ship, she starts receiving calls from her sisters and Ma.
After coming back home and hiding herself until she feels better, she takes care of her, taking it slowly. She receives the letter from Pa Salt (that he wrote before he died) and she finds a manuscript of an old book written in Norvegian along with a toad pandantive. She doesn't know what to make of this.
Meanwhile the events of the first book (about Maia) take place, so once Maia comes home, it's Ally's turn to go back: she has to attend one of the biggest navigation contests, on Theo's ship. But this year a storm is closing in and most of the teams give up.
After a tragedy occurs, Ally finds it almost impossible to go back to navigation. Getting to befriend Theo's mother, Celia, and getting closer to his estranged father, she decides, that with a help of a translator recommended by her bigger sister, to find out the story in the manuscript.
This is the moment where we go way back into the past, getting to meet Anna Landvik, a young lady living in a poor Norvegian village with her family and brother, who likes to sing but doesn't know how to cook properly.
An opportunity arises when an old man hears about Anna's performace at the church and he comes to visit them and talks to her and her parents about taking Anna to Christiania (nowadays Oslo) and cultivating her talent. This is how she starts a new life and after a year of becoming better and more popular with her voice, keeping secret meetings with a certain Jens Halvorsen, things start to fall down and only a miracle can save her.
This part of the story was painful for me and I almost cried seeing how much Anna suffered. If in the "past" section of the first book in the series we see a woman deciding to remain restrained to a man even though she loves another, here we see the contrary more or less.
I loved how the manuscript had an abrupt ending and going back to Ally we see how she goes to Norvegia and tries to understand her past better. Thom was another character I loved and the book ended in a perfect note. We also get to see another short story about Anna Landvik's nephew and the war that created a lot of disaster in his and his friends' life. I loved that story and cried a bit.
As usual, the author left no stone unturned. There were a few twists. Some of them I was expecting but others took me by surprise. As in the first book, the story ends with a short preview of the next sister, setting the tone for the following book in the series, ending in a cliffhanger.

⚔ The second 5 ✨ book this year! So normally I really enjoyed the first book, the only problem that I had with it, that are actually 3 problems, were:
⚔ The fact that Hades and Persephone only share a few awkward moments between them, so there isn't that much steam from their friendship; ⚔ There are a lot of stories shared from other's lives, and some were nice and some were meh; ⚔ And the Rape Trigger Warning ⚠ which made me hate that guy truly and the ending was really sad!
But this sequel?! I had no idea I will love it so much! We finally get to enjoy Hades and Persephone and their time together. There were also pretty often dramatic and badass moments that I truly enjoyed, because it was good drama! ...more

We have a hint of mystery in this one. Saturnine wants to move in a rent and she founds an extraordinary place for a small price. However, she will live with the mysterious Elemirio. And is said that 8 girls lived there before Saturnine and they just vanished.
I loved the story, the dialogue and that ending and I crave for even more books from this amazing author!
Purely amazing! This is the second book I'm reading from this author. I even liked this one more than Strike your Heart. Plus, it has the best ending Purely amazing! This is the second book I'm reading from this author. I even liked this one more than Strike your Heart. Plus, it has the best ending and conclusion.
Now I want to read everything by this author! She's definitely my new favourite author.
I hated the man in this book. And I anticipated that twist long before it happened, but this didn't stop my enthusiasm for this beauty.
I loved the relationship between the daughter and the mother, and the one between the mother and Regina. Also the friendship between the daughter and her best friend. I am sad that they didn't reconnect later on. But the gradparents, the relationships, the powerful emotions, there were all amazing!
Please go read this book, it's short and gorgeous!
Yay, finally! My first 5 star book this year. Thank you, dear Matt! :)

Everyone should read this book at least once. I want to go back in to some passages and save some stuff for later. Haig is my new favourite author now! I also have Reasons to Stay Alive from him but I haven't read it yet. I guess it's time to!
This book was my comfort, my soup for the soul, soothing and understanding. This book is alive! And maybe there was a 5% where I didn't agreed with the author, which is ok, we are all different in some aspects and life experience. But 95% I was in tune with him. I felt understood, helped out and cared for.
I totally recommend this book! 5 full stars....more
One more book finished. This, honestly, was one of my favourites in the series so far. This and the 5th one with the trials of death.
Since I was a kidOne more book finished. This, honestly, was one of my favourites in the series so far. This and the 5th one with the trials of death.
Since I was a kid'o I enjoyed books and tv shows with characters going through puzzles that lead to other clues, with things to fight along the way and situations to get out of. So Darren's and Harkat's adventure in this one was amazing!
And that twist towards the end of who Harkat was actually. Mr Tiny really knows how to play with time!
Ever since I started this series, going throgh all the gory details and gross stuff, nothing made me cringe. Until I got to the creature that was called Grotesque! All those gross details of its appeareance and the stench it had, but letting those people lick him and when he devoured that kid. JESUS! And I was eating when I listened to that part.
Anyway, a very fun and amazing book, plus bonus points for the audiobook cover, one of the most gorgeous ones so far.
Now, two more books to go and the series will come to an end. I am already sad that it's going to finish, to be honest. But I could always re-listen to them whenever I'll feel like.
5 Stars! I need the next book now! This book is for Reading Rush challenge for the prompt: A book read in the same spot the entire time (I woke up earl5 Stars! I need the next book now! I'd love to thank Vitor Cafaggi, Papercutz and NetGalley for this amazing book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is the most accurate and beautiful graphic novel out there! It's considered the best graphic novel in Brazil! I'm glad that the series is going to be translated in English! The second one just came out this month!
The story is about Vincent, a cute teenager dog that falls in love with Lady, a gorgeous lioness. They meet in a bus and he tries to talk with her and finds out some stuff about her. He falls instantly in love with her, but because he assumed she also liked him, he tries to go further, only finding out that she has somebody else. He then spills his sorrow to his best female friend, Bu, a cute monkey that is also his collegue in high-school.
He meets his male friends and they play RPG. After a while, Vincent meets another girl, Princess, a cute koala that seems to be into him. But this time he plays safe, asking her if she has a boyfriend, and she hasn't. But even though they start dating, kissing and holding hands and he asks her to be his girlfriend, she always responds with: "Let's not hurry up."
Things get worse when they go out and meet Lady and Vincent realizes that he still likes her very much. And when he ends up dating both of them, Princess is ready to be his girlfriend. But from here you can realize how messed up the situation gets, so now he has to take matter in his own hands and so he decides to tell them both that he likes them and he wants to spend some time alone and see what's best for him.
I won't continue with this because there are spoilers, but trust me when I say that nothing is what it seems to be. The story is much more complex and I loved it because it has humor and relatable facts.
Like I said, I need the next book now!! Do yourself a favor and read the first book! I promise you will not regret this decision!...more
I have no words for this book. I'm not a romance reader, but I started this one on a whim and fell in love with it!

First, I'd like to say that Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur was the first modern poetry book I've read and I loved it enormously! It was everything I needed in that moment. Then I had a few tries of reading poetry but it didn't worked out too well for me. But I didn't gave up on reading poetry! And then I found this book on NetGalley. The premise sounded exactly like what I was looking for, so I read it.
Let me tell you that this book made me smile, made me cry, made me feel peaceful towards the end! I will definitely buy this book in the paperback edition! These poems understand you and your crushed soul. Please, read this book! It's one of the greatest out there and you won't regret it!
There were poems with titles and then some parts where the author gave some apologies that never came from the people you wanted to hear these words from, like:
I am sorry that they awoke a flame in you that they weren't ready to feed. I am sorry that they've helped you find the worst in you. I am sorry that it's becoming harder to find the best in you.
The book came out in May, so you can grab a copy now. I recommend this book especially if you suffer....more

I read this comic in one sitting and I loved it! The story is fast paced, the characters are so kind and the graphic is stunning!
The story starts right away with Lya lying on the street after she's been hit by a car. Then we see her after she's been recovered, in a wheelchair, getting ready to leave her home to get to a law firm where she's got an internship. Her friend, Antoine picks her by car and she's going to live at his place.
Getting into the law firm, she makes friends because everyone is nice, but the boss. There she is doing everything she can to obtain the information she needs about the one who hit her and let her die in the street.
There is a cliffhanger at the end. One that will make you want to continue the series right away! But please, read this book! Trust me, you'll not regret it! It has many positive aspects....more
