"This strand, right here..." Draco reached up and trapped it between his fingertips; it was the long one, his most hated one that liked Potter's cheek. "I dream about it," Draco said. He dreamt about it a lot. Nearly every night.

So many heartwarming, beautiful, amazing things in this story: Draco’s viewpoint, to start with. His personality. His desperation. His reflections of what happened during the war. His thoughtfulness. His spectacular sense of humor. Then the magic (the cloud, the Conjuring spells) – magic is a living thing.
"Nice cloud." Draco tensed. Potter was standing right next to him. Draco looked up and sneered. "You like it? Have some." Draco's hand shot up and grabbed Potter's forearm. The cloud reacted immediately: it stretched above Potter and spat copious amounts of rain at him. Potter spluttered but, to Draco's distress, he was laughing.

Draco’s protectiveness of Goyle was nice, and Goyle’s character’s quite entertaining.
Just as Harry and Draco, Hermione and Ron were also kept true to their character, and Hermione being charge of the tower’s passwords was a hilarious plus.
Sweet and delightful story. Highly recommended....more

The main characters are referred as "Draco" and "Potter", and maybe it has a reason. This "Potter" doesn't sound like Harry Potter. I liked Draco though, his character is more accurately drawn, more credible.
It's a short story, still, I skipped a lot, even the sex scene. Not the kind of writing style I enjoy: jumping viewpoint, poor, erratic structure, no editing, errors and repetitions (“Potter” occurs 339 times). I'm not going to read the following story.

Potter moans into the kiss, his body melting as Draco's hands explore the hard planes of his chest. "Yes. Fuck," Potter says. "I don't know what he paid for you, but you're worth every galleon." Draco pulls back. "Paid for?" he asks. "Right," Potter says, "You don't want to break character." Draco decides to ignore the statement. After all, Potter has always been weird and Draco isn't going to give up this opportunity.

Harry is an auror, Draco is an art thief. Harry gets Draco released from Azkaban to help the Curses and Hexes Auror Division with information. Draco is under Harry’s custody, bond to him with a spell for the next four years…
Harry smiled grimly. “That’s the last condition. That I’m the Auror you’re assigned to.” Harry watched the smirk slowly crawl back into place. “Well, then. This should be interesting.”
The storytelling is amazing! I don’t think if I’ve ever even read anything like this before. It can be seen in movies though - what comes to my mind is King Arthur: Legend of the Sword
It’s the kind of fractured narrative structure when a character (Harry) first talks about something, but not exactly about the something, then you see it’s happening but not in flashbacks. I’m sure there is a term for it.
The writing is superb, the story is gripping, the characters are adults now, so there is development yet they are true to the original characterizations, the secondary characters are hilarious, the intimacy is palpable.
Highly recommended.

A delightful story about raising money for charity, a little rivalry between Daphne and Draco, hot kisses, and so much fluff. It’s told from Daphne’s viewpoint, and I really loved her voice: snarky but affectionate.
Harry murmurs in Draco’s ear, Draco’s face smooths, they lock eyes, please, dear Salazar, don’t let them kiss again— Too late.

We’re after the war, 8th year, the Malfoy family is sent to Azkaban. But Draco is offered the possibility to return Hogwarts if he agrees to submit to being bound to someone for a year. The bonding spell is kind of a house arrest under supervision instead of spending the sentenced time in Azkaban. He asks for Harry Potter.
First, I don’t really like the idea of the bond. It’s very dangerous: it gives almost total control over a person – it doesn’t seem, no!, it isn’t ethical, it’s very much like the Imperius Curse. After the war, how something like this can be allowed to use and be legal? But this is the base of the story, so I have to accept it. It’s a magical bond, and as it must work, it softens the hard edges of Harry and Draco’s personality to make it easier for them to cooperate. It brings their agreeable traits to the surface and keeps the not so agreeable ones at bay.
I love forced proximity in stories, and the working method of the bond is interesting – apart from the dubious ethical issues. It’s even more interesting what happens when the bond is removed.
The story is told from dual viewpoint, which is brilliantly done. Both of them are full of want and hope and doubts. Plus Harry feels, too, that this bond thing is not exactly right - he thinks that somehow he’s forced Draco into it. (view spoiler)[
“He was under the influence of the bond, Hermione, he had to want whatever I wanted! His choice to say no was taken away, and I took advantage of that! I - I abused him, I fucking ra-” Harry slid down to his knees and buried his head in his hands. “Oh my god, I raped him.”
As always, Hermione is there to help him to see the light.
“Nope.” Hermione popped the consonant, looking pleased with herself. “All the bond did was (view spoiler)[soften the edges of your personality traits that rub each other the wrong way. It stopped you both from thinking about all the bad history between you.” (hide spoiler)]

There are so many spectacular details in this story: attentive Harry, furiously protective Harry, smiling Draco, insecure Draco, reasonable Draco, difficult Draco, McGonagall, Hermione and Bitsy.

Draco discovers the Mirror of Erised is a portal and he enters an alternate reality where he can get his deepest desires. First, he doesn’t understand what’s happening – it’s hilarious to be in Draco’s head, btw, and witness all his possible explanations.
Draco had died. This was the only logical explanation: he’d died and gone to heaven, and if he didn’t know that he didn’t deserve heaven, then maybe he’d believe it.
In the mirror, Draco has everything he ever wanted.
His Mirror self had made the choices Draco didn’t.
He is utterly happy, so he decides to stay. The problem is that only his mind enters the mirror’s reality, and his body is slowly dying in the real world.
Of course, Harry arrives at his rescue.

It’s beautifully angsty, heartbreakingly beautiful. Never happened before that a first kiss made me cry.

It’s a world ruled by Voldemort. It’s full of terror, but there is hope. There is a Resistance and also a new prophecy.
Harry’s lungs strained for air. “How can you live in this world?” Draco said, “We can’t.”
Meeting Voldemort’s Inner Circle was torturous and sickening. I can’t say much without giving everything away. The story is not about defeating Voldemort once again, it’s just about Draco and Harry getting together.

He beat Voldemort with Malfoy’s wand. This fact never ceased to amaze him. Fate seemed to want to bring the two of them in the same orbit time and again.
When Draco Malfoy hits Zacharias Smith in the middle of Diagon Alley because of his defamatory book about the events and participants of the war, Auror Potter is sent to bring Draco in. But Harry can’t keep his cool, and joins Draco to beat Smith up. They are both sentenced three months of community service in Muggle London. Together.
There are so many wonderful things in this story. The post-war situation and feelings are nicely depicted. The way Draco becomes acquainted with the Muggle world, and his tentative enthusiasm to Muggle things are adorable. Hermione and Ron, Neville, Ginny, Narcissa Malfoy are all amazing.

“I hardly think a Muggle magazine can assist me with my love problems.” “Why is that?” “Because I seriously doubt a Muggle magazine would have an article on ‘How to find love when you’re a disgraced Death Eater.’”
So many fascinating scenes, too: the one in the cinema, the one after the cinema, the one in the ball, the one with Mr. Ollivander, the one in the club, and so on. Basically the whole story.
I loved it! It's truly amazing! Highly recommended! [image][image][image]...more

Draco’s cover girlfriend also breaks up, because he wants to live her life, so Draco needs a new cover to avoid his mother’s matchmaking attempts. He doesn’t even mind to be outed. So it seems very convenient to have a fake relationship with each other. All they need to do is simply pretend they’re in love.
“And so we have to … fake…? How do we do this?” Malfoy’s voice is low and raspy and yet he still manages to sneer at Harry. “How do people do this, Potter? Need instructions?” He unbuttons three buttons of his shirt and unzips his trousers. Holy moly mother of Merlin. Harry forces himself to stare at Malfoy’s eyes, and not the line of golden hair disappearing under the waistband of his Calvins. “Make some noise,” Malfoy advises. Harry moans, a little too loudly, and Malfoy snorts. “Not like that. More… natural.” He smirks, a little affectionately. Harry retorts, “You do it then, if you’re so good.”
My favorite thing in this story is Draco’s portrayal. It is how I want him to be: snarky, arrogant and adorably, desperately longing for Harry. Ooh, and superhot.
That ear-nibbling was almost better than a kiss. Almost.

"You know,” he said, unable to keep a wry smile from creeping across his face, “you could have just conjured your own umbrella – transfigured one from a rock or something. If I didn’t know better, I might think that you like standing so close to me." "You could have used an Engorgio to make your umbrella bigger if the proximity was bothering you. I think it might be you who likes standing close to me."
Harry and Draco both work at the Ministry, and one day Harry finds Draco unconscious in his office. I turns out that Draco overdosed a sleeping potionHarry and Draco both work at the Ministry, and one day Harry finds Draco unconscious in his office. I turns out that Draco overdosed a sleeping potion which he has been taken since 6th year and has become addicted to it. The detox process and recovery is not easy, with a side effect of not being able to sleep at all for a while. So Harry decides to keep Draco company in St. Mungo.
Malfoy eyed them suspiciously. “You want to play cards?” he asked flatly. “Yeah, I suppose I do,” Harry nodded. “Are you seriously trying to tell me that the famous Harry Potter has nothing better to do on a Sunday night than sit in hospital, playing cards with a virtual stranger?” Harry grinned. Put that way, it sounded ridiculous. “Yes. That’s exactly what I’m trying to tell you.” Malfoy gave an exaggerated roll of his eyes. “Merlin, and I thought my life was tragic.”
When he is discharged from hospital, he still needs daily medication and Harry offers to take care of it. Draco appears every night at Grimmauld Place for the potion, and slowly they build a cozy routine, a sweet domesticity.
Draco wanted Chinese food and Harry fancied pizza, so they compromised and ordered a curry. It was too hot for Draco and too mild for Harry, so neither of them was happy, but they took great pleasure in blaming each other for the unsatisfying meal.
Draco is so in character: he is difficult, arrogant, distant, and snarky, but he is also very vulnerable. It’s a lovely contrast. He’s like a wild animal who has to be tamed.
“Smugness doesn't suit you, Potter. You don’t have the bone structure for it.”
Harry is also true to character: so vehement and emotional, caring and everything he is.
Despite the long time span (six months) it was not overdrawn or boring, the pacing is perfect. The trust and attraction between them are built beautifully.
The magnitude of their conversation hit Harry hard as he watched Draco leave, and he was suddenly struck by an urge to acknowledge it. “Draco?” Draco turned in the doorway and looked at him expectantly, blond eyebrows raised. “Thanks for trusting me enough to tell me.” Draco’s expression softened for a split second before rolled his eyes and swept from the room, muttering something that sounded suspiciously like “Bloody sentimental Gryffindors.”
The trauma of the events of 6th year and the war taking its toll on both of them (nightmares, and in Draco’s case, addiction) was heartbreaking to see. I’ve never thought of this aspect before.
Strange Bedfellows is a great story, with many wonderful details. Plus, Draco wearing that too short Gryffindor t-shirt must be a sight to behold. Highly recommended!
