Laure is at the top of her class. She wants to be seen, ambitious at whatever cost. So far as going into the Paris Catacombs to find the river of blood to strike a deal! This deal gives her unspeakable power to get to be truely seen, but this also puts a target on her back.
I thought this was well written, though this did slow down in some areas and it really effected the way I felt about the book as a whole. But it wasn’t bad at all, I enjoyed this specially for a genre I don’t normally pick up....more

I’m not put off from this because there is no romance. I appreciate the love Sirscha and Saengo have for each other almost like sisters. I was struggling with the pacing, I wanted something gripping to happen and it lacked that. This being the last book, it’s a bit disappointing. I finished the book feeling unsatisfied but content with its ending. The Soulless was more in this book then they were in the other two and I found him be a very grey character. Someone I would have liked to explore more of.
All in all this wasn’t bad it was just good. I enjoyed going on this wild adventure with Sirscha and Saengo where their friendship will always be goals....more

The romance was there and I did enjoy it but I felt like it slow burned then simmered on and off too much.
I went into this book imagining The Mummy, while i did feels there were some similarities that gave me that vibe. It did lack for me a bit, the magic again was such a little importance in the story in my opinion.
The ending was definitely catching and I will most definitely be picking up book two because What was that ending!!! So many questions!...more

Seelie was the worst of them, seelie just seemed really whiny. This made it really hard to remember what happened throughout the book. I had to keep going back a few pages and still being so confused. I finished the book but I can’t remember what I read. This makes me so sad because this was one I was very excited for....more

For me it felt like the romance was being forced in and the action was lightly sprinkled in. My frustration might have just been the back and forth and the pace. I’m not sure I’m explaining it well.
Lina felt angry and cruel for most of the story, understanding she’s being manipulated. I wanted her self strength to be stronger. I wanted her to be strong and beyond this weak character who is easily manipulated. I was very disappointed in her character in this book. I greatly enjoyed her in book one, not so much this one.
Rui, we see his love for Lina but that dang voice makes her actions seem very toxic. Rui knows it’s not her but he still loves her so much he continues to love her. The ending was set to leave you wanting more and it accomplished that.
I enjoyed the book and I’m definitely going to need book 3! ...more
I was hesitant going into the sequel but I was so happily surprised that I enjoyed this. Maybe even more then the first book.
