I feel a little worried about the next two books, this was good enough to be an introductory book. But my real question is the next two are gonna be enough? I don´t know but I feel intrigued. Poor Rissa sincerely I feel really sab about her.
Creo que este libro me sorprendió bastante desde el comienzo hasta el final. También me fuera gustado saber más acerca de Parisa. Creo que conoci la profundidad de muchos otros personajes.
Espero realmente que ciertos personajes mueran en el siguiente libro. Creo que es primera vez que un favorito del año no tiene 5 estrellas. Pero me gustó la complejidad de las conversaciones y de cada personaje.

Ahora bien creo que tiene algunos puntos flojos en la trama, algo que se me hace fastidioso es que nunca Matthew y Olivia se comunican como tal y eso para mi es una gran falla. Su única conversación real es bastante ambigua.

No creo que exista peor persona que aquella que le da puntajes negativos sin leerlo. Voy a comenzar con los spoilers, así que si no has leído el libro mejor no leas mi reseña aún.
Momento de los Spoilers
1. Desarrollo de los Personajes: -Poppy: El desarrollo fue bastante increíble, recordemos que en los tres libros anteriores siempre encontró su apoyo en Casteel. Pero en esta oportunidad tendrá que conseguir si apoyo moral en sí misma y en nuevos amigos así como todos esos cambios en si misma siguen ocurriendo. Es verdad que no siempre toma las mejores decisiones pero siempre ocurre que sus decisiones van atadas a su humanidad. Sin embargo vemos a una Poppy cuya confianza a crecido del cielo a la tierra desde FBAA. - Casteel: En este libro tuvimos que ver una faceta diferente, encontramos a un Casteel muy débil a uno atado y que debe confiar en su esposa y en Atlantia para ser rescatado. Comprende que ha sido una debilidad y que debe tomar mejores decisiones para no herir. Y aún así hay algo importante el confiesa que no se arrepiente de nada y que fuera hecho cualquier cosa por haber protegido a Poppy. -Kieran: Considero que Kieran siempre ha hecho lo mejor de si para ayudar a Casteel y proteger a Poppy y en este libro demuestra que es mucho mejor hombre de lo que pensábamos porque a pesar de todo el momento que pasa alejado de Casteel siempre se ocupó del bienestar de Poppy. Y siempre trató en todo el libro a Poppy con el respeto que ella merecía. - Vonetta, Emil y Delano: Vemos que adquieren nuevas responsabilidades pero también vemos como su su relación con Poppy se flexibiliza mucho hay más confianza y hay una comunicación bien abierta. También vemos como sus acciones forman parte del curso de la guerra, aunque ellos toman sus propias decisiones vemos como tienen opiniones y aspectos que enriquecen la historia.
2.Desarrollo del Universo
En esta oportunidad podemos ver otras ciudades de Carsodonia, salimos del panorama de Solis Spessa End y otros sitios que eran familiares en la historia. Si tenemos que ver que Atlantia toma nuevos lugares. Aún si Isbeth es la reina hay muchos lugares que deben tomar para ganar el control de la situación y si fue justo lo que sucedió. A pesar de que muchas cosas que sucedieron fueron fuertes de leer fue bueno ver la extensión de la maldad de Isbeth y de los Ascendidos para ver las crueldades en el interior de los templos.
3. Desarrollo Emocional Poppy, Casteel y Kieran
Antes de Joining
Las relaciones son complicadas, pero la relación entre Poppy y Kieran en todo el libro fue de RESPETO. Y antes que Casteel fuera rescatado la relación entre Poppy y Kieran fue abiertamente la de un par de amigos que se respetan.
¿Hay sentimientos entre Kieran y Poppy? Hay sentimientos de camaradería, amor no romántico, respeto, solidaridad y muchos más a lo largo del libro. Pero, llegado un punto el mismo Casteel admite que Poppy ama a Kieran asi como Kieran ama a Poppy y aunque el amor que él siente por Poppy no es igual como el que el siente por Poppy. Poppy admite abiertamente ante Casteel que ama a Kieran pero no como ama a Casteel no así de intenso pero sabe que sí es algo más.
Después de Joining
Poppy admite que la relación entre ellos sigue siendo igual que siempre solo que hay una especie de intimidad que no existía antes. Algo que es evidente es que Casteel ni Poppy ni Kieran tienen ningún problema expresando sus deseos.
Me besó de nuevo. “Pero antes de eso, voy a conseguir lo que quiero. Tú. En la armadura." "Dioses”, Kieran medio suspiró, medio se rió. Los labios de Casteel se curvaron en una sonrisa contra la mía. "No es como si no lo estuvieras pensando". Mis ojos se abrieron como Kieran Sonaba como si se ahogara con la respiración. Lo que de repente sentí de él mientras Casteel se rió entre dientes no era vergüenza.
¿Qué pasará en el futuro? Pues no sé, pero en lo personal no me incomoda, tampoco me parece irrelevante la escena de Joining porque ya la veníamos esperando desde el segundo libro de esta serie. Quienes leyeron el comentario de la cacerola saben lo que estoy hablando, hay muchas pistas de que esto podía o no pasar. Y en lo personal disfruté que haya ocurrido. La interacción y el crecimiento entre estos tres personajes es genial y nada fue arruinado.
Habia espacio para que esto fue algo meramente sexual pero durante todo este libro fueron mencionados los sentimientos de Castel hacia Kieran, Kieran hacia Castel, Poppy hacia Kieran y Kieran hacia Poppy. No me siento decepcionada por pensar que esto signifique que Casteel y Poppy no son un EndGame, digo ¿Quién dice que no? No sabemos que sucederá en la historia pero el hecho de todo lo que sucedió no implica que no sea asi.
PLOT TWISTS - La muerte de los Drakens me afectó bastante, no imaginé que esto iba a ocurrir. Fue triste y la verdad no lo vi venir así. - Jadis está viva, es algo que me alegra muchísimo. Estuve muy triste al pensar que estaba muerta. - Que Victor era un Fate, o parte de los Arae nunca me lo esperé. Pero fu una buena adición a la historia. - La casi muerte de Malec, no sabremos si morirá o no. Habrá que esperar al próximo libro. - Que en efecto ahora Poppy es la Primal de la Vida y la Primal de la Muerte y todo lo que eso va a implicar. - El hecho de que Poppy nunca debió haber existido.
Esos fueron los plot twist que realmente me llegaron, aunque disfruté la muerte de Isbeth no me sorprendió, yo sabía que ella iba a morir. Igual que aunque no lo sabia si sospechaba por el tiempo que Malec estuvo secuestrado que en efecto él era The Dark One. No sentí como un plot twist que Millicent sea hermana de Poppy aunque ahora es una Revenant y quien sabe cómo terminará esa gente al final del día.
Fue un libro emocionante y hay muchísimas cosas que quedaron sin respuesta. Muchos cabos sueltos lo cual abre un abanico de posibilidades a los libros que están por venir. Aquellos que lanzaron todo ese odio injustificado porque no les gustó algo que no se ajustaba a sus necesidades (porque estemos claros que era más que evidente que se veía, les diré nadie tiene derecho a amenazar a un autor.

Los personajes se me hacen bien interesantes y el comienzo del libro es bien fuerte, creo que no es un libro apto para personas cuyo gatillo sean las drogas.

Creo que es una frase que se quedará conmigo porque es muy cierta. Beyah es un personaje que me gusta porque se siente que no es una adolescente pero es una chica muy joven aún y es un personaje cuya característica es que te das cuenta que ve las cosas de otro modo debido a las difíciles experiencias de vida. Incluso casi al final del libro te das cuenta como su mente esta moldeada a las experiencias duras con las que tuvo que lidiar y aunque las cosas son diferentes siempre estará moldeadas por estas. Y creo que eso es bien importante en un personaje, que mantenga su esencia. Usualmente cuando leo este tipo de libros te das cuenta que los personajes son bien planos no tienen mucha profundidad pero este es uno de los mejores personajes que he leído de Colleen Hoover.
Samson es un personaje un poquito menos complejo pero es porque no nos deja ver mucho de él la mayor parte del libro. Y fue un poquito básico el personaje a decir verdad. Sin embargo es lo suficientemente interesante como para mantener el interés en el libro.
El Plot Twist no fue tan impredecible como en otros libros. Aqui si tenia idea por donde venia la cosa como 100 paginas antes de que sucediera. Es una buena lectura y sin duda la recomiendo.

No voy a dejar Spoilers porque quiero que todo aquel que lo lea y sea fan de SJM sienta la misma cantidad de emoción. Les confieso que estoy vuelta un desastre de emociones ahora mismo.
Leí este libro sin ninguna expectativa ya que este esmi primer libro de la autora. Estoy gratamente sorprendida con la trama, el desarrollo de los personajes. Si bien pude predecir algunas partes del desarrollo de la trama otras definitivamente me sorprendieron. No les voy a negar que la primera mitad del libro se desarrolla de manera lenta.
Poppy es un personaje que fue creciendo progresivamente a pesar de lo lento de la primera mitad. Algo que me gusta son los detalles en cuanto al desarrollo. Hawke y esa primera escena de aparición nunca la vi venir. Esta entre el top de mis libros favoritos del 2020.

La verdad ceo que toda la trama estuvo muy bien lograda. No sabia que esta historia era la continuación de una trilogía previa asi que ahora me toca leerla.

No sé como no había leído este libro antes Uno de los mejores libros que he leído respecto al género. A decir verdad pensé que caería en lo cliché y que todo seria magicmente perfecto porque sí, hay mucha brujeria. Pero curiosamente, el libro dejó en varias ocasiones los clichés inncesarios.
Lou es un personaje fuerte pero muy gracioso. No es ese tipo de personaje que trata de ser graciosa pero no lo es, ella literalmente se ríe de sus desgracias. Reid es un sujeto bastante interesante y bastante fanático y siempre se necesita a un buen fanático para dar ganas de golpearlo de rato en rato. Como se va desarrollando esta extraña relación es muy chevere.
Debo admitir que al inicio del libro fue un poquito confuso porque el libro inicia como si ya viniera siguiendo una historia y no se porqué pensé que Coco era una persona mayor (duda que fue aclarada conforme pasaba el libro). Tiene muchas escenas cargadas de emoción pero muy bien hechas.
Me encanta la dinámica entre Coco y Lou. Asi también como la dinámica entre Lou y Ansel!

Y ese suspenso va creciendo minuto a minuto hasta que vamos llegando a los últimos capítulos. Incluso en los momentos de calma aparente se puede palpar el suspenso y juega demasiado bien con el terror psicológico.
Con algo de pesar puedo decir que mi país se parece bastante a esta novela en muchos aspectos.
