I am impressed that the author was able to bring so many themes of technology and mix together the impact of technology on the interconnected world of social media and entertainment. It definitely highlights the fascination we have with reality television and portrays how compassion and a sense of community is often left behind in exchange for the fascination of the macabre and underprivileged.

An absolute breath of fresh air for me in the vampire genre. I found myself hooked after only a couple chapters and loved Umbra's...well, everything! I hope to see a bit more backstory for Vesta and Elay in the future, but the descriptions of all the locations and settings were great and I felt like I could actually visualize where Dezi and Vesta were throughout the book. I really hope these authors keep writing more in this series, or even in general. This was a fantastic read.
Just as a sidenote: I love dark LGBTQ+ sci-fi like this, especially by indie authors. It reminds me of Hero, a book I knew very little about back in high school and has been very high on my list of favorite books for years....more

Humanity has gained exponential amounts of progress and benefits from innovative individuals, but it’s become all too easy for the technology to be turned on the people most vulnerable to groups in power. This collection of experiences shared on the incarceration of religious and faith-positive people in China shows just how awful these technologies can be when used to enforce an agenda based on fear and prejudice.

It may take a few pages to get used to the style, but I promise that it's worth the hilarious office shenanigans that are also a tiny bit frightening on an existential level. ...more

All the individuals within this book are shown as survivors who live through some of the worst events one can experience in life. Their courage and persistence in moving forward while living in an environment outside of their control shows the extent of each person’s character and the ability to find hope within themselves and the others around them.

One word to describe it may be “weird,” but my read-through of each story showed me the surrealism and ironic humor used in the face of little else during big changes and little clarity on the outcomes.

This is what you want to read when you need a book about AI overtaking humanity, but with the hope that not all AI wants to kill us all (although that leaves a good chunk left that wouldn’t mind either way). Pounce is awesome and I love his dedication to protecting his kid, even after he chooses with his newly accessed free will. This is a quick read, but a good one for a night in.
