I can't express how long it's been since I've swooned as hard over a book boyfriend as I did over Levi Fanning. Was it predictable? Maybe a little. Do I care? Not a single bit.
Georgie Mulcahy has spent most of her adult life catering to others; working as a personal assistant until her longtime famous boss decided she was done with LA and left Georgie without a job or a home in California. What else is there for her to do but return home to grieve and regroup? To figure out what’s next for her, spend some time with her family, and be there for the birth of her best friend’s first baby.
Levi Fanning lived up to his troublemaker name for years before getting straight. Now he likes to keep to himself. He runs a successful business in town, but he’s still the black sheep of the very prominent Fanning family.
And Georgie has no idea when she gets into town and comes face to face with a grumpy stranger while trying to get milkshakes that she and Levi will soon embark on a journey of discovery together to find their purpose in life without the influence of others thoughts, feelings, or actions. And it is glorious. The slow burn. The subtle growing of their relationship. HANK. Just…I loved ALL of it.
The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars from me this time was because it had a bit of a slow start and took me a second to get into, but once I did, I had no regrets....more

ShYa'll, it's no secret that Tessa is one of my favorite writers. I've probably said this before, but I'd read the phone book if she were the author. She always finds a way to make her characters a little different and quirky, yet relatable and relevant. Hallie definitely fit that bill as the unorganized gardener who needed a little guidance, especially when matched against our hero, Julian. These two characters could not have been more different, but it's true what they say: opposites attract, and while Hallie needed someone in her life to help her (for lack of a better term) 'clean up' a little, Julian definitely needed someone to make his life a little bit messy. And their chemistry was amazing.
My only issue was that I really thought the letters would be a bigger part of the story (considering the title of the book). It felt like there would have been more letters exchanged, and a bit more connection between the characters in secret while they were growing together in person.
All in all, though, as usual, Tessa knocked it out of the park with the start to this latest series, and I'm looking forward to what's next!...more

She doesn't need a relationship to finally fulfil her dream of becoming a mom. She just needs Josh Lewenthal. Her brother's best friend since childhood--the bum living in his dad's basement. He's smart. He's handsome. He'd be the perfect choice to ask for a sperm donation, right?
After seeing the description for this book (and sneaking a peek at some other early reviews) I was so hoping I'd get approved, because I know a lot of people hate it, but I am a total schmoop for surprise babies, baby making, daddy swoons, etc... you get my point.
So, thank you, Berkley, for the advanced copy of Josh and Gemma Make a Baby because I loved it!
As someone who has experienced infertility, and has no children of her own, I knew for sure this one would hit me in the feels--and it did--in all of the best ways. We've already covered that I love baby tropes, but I also love a slow burn with a lot of build-up, and that's exactly what Sarah Ready crafted here.
My only complaint was I wanted more out of Josh!! He had the potential to be a number one book boyfriend; but I felt like he was way too much in the background with his feelings in some aspects. Other than that, I absolutely loved this one and I'll be looking forward to more of Sarah's books in the future....more

That's where I'm at with Tessa Bailey's latest: Hook, Line, & Sinker. She nailed it. Again. (Are you surprised?) This was everything I could ever want in a friends-to-lovers romance that just happened to include the amazing characters in Westport we met and couldn't wait for more of in the first book: Hannah and Fox.
This was slow burning sweetness with all the feels, swoons, and sexy times I could have ever wanted and I'm here for it. Drop all the things and go read this series right now....more

Grace Travis’ life hasn’t been easy due to her deadbeat mother, but Grace has done what she can to make the best of her situation. She’s hardworking, dedicated and just on the cusp of getting everything she wants: to finish her interior design degree, and the freedom to finally move into the beach house her estranged grandparents left her in their will.
Noah Jansen on the other hand, well his life’s been pretty good (except for an asshole father). Noah’s got money: he’s good looking…and he has his eyes on one particular prize: Grace’s house.
What begins as a rivalry between neighbors—because Grace isn’t giving up on her dream, and neither is Noah—slowly morphs into something more than just arguments, the journey is so good. Like I said before, I’m a sucker for the slow burn and sexual tension, and Sophie, girl, you did it right. I adored this book and I hope we’ll get to see more from this friend group in the future!...more
