This is such a wonderful read. Reading this felt like the author was talking about me! We all at some point in our life have gone through the certain stages, struggles and Bernadette talks about them all in her book. Reading the book I felt like, this is me, I have been through this, I am still struggling and I don't know what is happening to me. Bernadette talks about her own struggles, how she had to go through everything to finally understand what was causing them. And most importantly how she has learned to trust the signs, using her intuition, trusting her decision.
The book it self took me around one and half hour to read. Going through a lot of personal loss myself I get easily triggered, Bernadette has helped me to control them. I have learned to trust more in my intuition as well.
P.S There is a bonus chapter that helps figure out how strong your intuition is. How cool is that!...more

This book felt more like filler than an actual story. The book picks up a few days later of where The 5th Wave left off. This book concentrated mainly around the transformation of Ringer and fill out a lot of holes while there are still many left to be answered. We get the vague idea about the alien infestation however many questions are still unanswered.
The POV changes was within three characters, Ringer, Cassie and Evan. Cassie and Evan deals with world outside of camp haven however not in long term length. While Ringer counts her days in another 'camp haven'. Cassie and Evans storyline takes a backseat while we see the process of Ringer taking on a new environment all together. Through this change in Ringer we get some explanation which also leaves a whole lot of unanswered questions.
The third book supposedly clears everything out, which will be released next year. Between the two released books this was not that appealing to me but I shall wait for the third book to have a final opinion about the series. ...more

My thoughts are are rather all over the place, let me gather them while I rant about how I missed reading books and blogging about them! I missed it so much! I feel like I am out of the loop on books, new releases, and mostly my blogger buddies.
As for the book, I started reading it after I saw the movie trailer (I will link the trailer below). The trailer was great, so when I saw it was based on a book I had to read it. The story changes point of view between the lead characters Cassie and Ben. I had a bit of trouble at the beginning keeping up with the changes of POV and flashback.
Lets talk about the characters, Cassie is a normal sixteen year old trying to survive the alien infested world while still crushing on boy(s). I have come to terms with the fact that attraction is fatal, you can not help whom you like. Specially when you are a sixteen year old girl. She still was level headed and and very brave. And to tell the truth she is one from the many female characters that I love and adore that did not piss me off. She made great life choices.
Ben AKA Zombie, I liked him. He too was a very 'teen' boy caught in the middle of his own angst and alien infested war yet still trying to make it in the world. He acts like a protector due to the circumstances he faced. He is the hero every young adult book is made of.
And of course I can not stress enough how much Evan Walker made an impact with his Edward Cullen characteristics. SPOILER ALERT he is one of the different species and an good egg. In spite the stalkerish behavior he still makes you melt with his cuteness. Evan made me had mixed feelings. So I will love a to read some of his POV in the future books.
Overall I loved the story, I feel a kinship to the characters, I can not wait till I read more. So I already got the second book and I am looking forward to start reading it tonight. ...more
