Goku has his Ultra Instinct to counter Jiren and seems on the upper hand, but there are still some twists and turns before the winner of the tournament is known. I really loved how this story arc ended, some nice writing!!! Next we get the introduction to the Moro arc. I can’t say too much about it yet, too early to tell, but the set up is already good. Looking forward to what’s to come.
Rating: 4/5 The ending of the ToP was very good I’m still giving it a lower rating then the previous volume because it’s only the start of the Moro arc...more

The wheat has been separated from the chaff; a lot of the lesser fighters have already been eliminated in the previous volume. There still are some left, but the focus is now more on the stronger fighters still remaining.
This volume is one action sequence after another; all out fighting from start to finish. The focus in the first chapters of this volume is mainly on Universe 6. It starts out as a fight between Caulifla and Freeza, but it becomes much more than just that. It quickly turns out that Caulifla isn’t a match for Freeza, especially not when he turns Golden Freeza. It's at that moment that Kale comes into play; she goes super saiyen and goes on a rampage, losing all clarity and reason. She's the main reason for eliminating a lot of the remaining lesser fighters. She's however no match for the combined force of universe 11. It's at that moment that universe 6 plays their final trump card. I really loved this part with a lot of interesting fights. It's very different however from what happens in the anime, and although I loved it in the manga, my preference goes to events from the anime. What I loved especially in the anime was the fight between Kefla and Goku, mainly the build up to the finishing move.
In the second half of the story, there aren't many fighters remaining and it becomes a fight mostly between Jiren and the remaining fighters of universe 7. It’s also at this point that Goku manages for the first time to reach Ultra Instinct.
Rating: 4,5/5 Rounded down to 4 stars I’m currently not really inclined to give a manga a full 5 star rating...more

In this volume we get practically fighting from start to finish. The focus is mostly on lesser fighters in the tournament (and their elimination). There are some surprises though.
We also get to see Jiren in action in the tournament. Especially the fight against Hit shows already some of his potential. It's clear by the end that Universe 11 will be the main contender for the win with still all of their fighters in action. With Jiren they seem to have the strongest fighter in the tournament, a fighter who seems almost invincible!...more

In volume 5 there was the start of the Tournament of Power arc. In this volume we have the continuation of this arc with the remainder of the exhibition tournament between the gods of destruction of the different universes. After that there is also the fight between Goku and Toppo. Some nice fights!
Unfortunately, what came next was less interesting. We didn’t get any new fights, the focus was mostly on preparation of the tournament with the selection of the fighters for universe 7 and some other universes. This seems to be mostly setup for what is to come. Hopefully before the greatness will start?...more
