I've read many books from her bookclub and watched shows she produced, and I rarely, if ever, was disappointed.
Tiny, beautiful things is a compilation of letters from people to "Sugar" and Cheryl's answers as an "Agony Aunt". She replies to each letter with advice, compassion, insight, and wisdom.
Every time I read a new response, it made my heart smile because Sugar is such a wonderful, kind, and caring person. She's someone who has gone through a lot of hardships herself and she brings her own stories into each response, masterfully intertwining it with advice she thinks might help.
And although Sugar's advise was frequently straightforward and uncomplicated, it wasn't always delivered in that way. She's like your favorite, blunt aunt who never minces words. There is so much insight in the text.

From what I've seen in interviews, and now read here, she seems to be just that: warm, kind, driven and probably a fun person to be around.
It was a no-brainer that I'd read her book the moment I learned she had written one, and I can honestly say I am not disappointed. I cannot wait to try all the recipes she shared with us and I am surely going to follow some of her advice, too.
I don't know why this book doesn't have a higher rating, I thoroughly enjoyed it ...more

I had almost no expectations going in, and I definitely did not expect to actually like it.
In Spare, Prince Harry is open, vulnerable and informative. He tells a lot of stories about his life, from early childhood up to last year, and I admired the courage he had to tell his truth in the face of some not easily surmountable odds....more
I enjoyed returning to the world of Josh and Gemma, because we don't often get to follow characters beyond their happily ever after. But to be honest,I enjoyed returning to the world of Josh and Gemma, because we don't often get to follow characters beyond their happily ever after. But to be honest, my first thought when I finished listening to this, was that it was good but unnecessary. Although everything fits in neatly by the end of the story, I didn't feel the same emotional connection to it as I did to book one....more

It was an abundance of information/facts about Numenor, gathered from all of Tolkien's writings as well as writings from his son, Christopher.
Very informative, so much that it often felt like a history lesson rather than fantasy fiction....more
