I also did not really grow to love the cast of characters this go round which is usually a stong point with me for Abercrombie. I think the last quarter or so was the best part of the book though there was one chapter in the middle that I really loved. 5 stars to that one chapter where you had a paragraph with a character that led up to them dying, picking up with the character that killed them and ended with them dying, picking up with the character that killed them, and so on. Such a awesome sequence! That may have bumped my rating to 3 stars, but taking nearly 4 months to finish this book kept it at 2....more

This is really sad for me, I was initially planning on buying this book on the release day, as I loved the first book. Thankfully I tried the audiobook first and am glad I did not actually buy myself a copy. The narrator however was one of the only positives of the half I listened to. There were just too many weddings that I did not care about (I do not particularly like weddings in general as it is), and every character just seemed so selfish, especially Luc and I forget his best friends name, but she made me want to bang my head against a wall. I just felt bad for Oliver the whole time and was confused as to why he was putting up with all this nonsense. In conclusion, I was so excited when I heard this book was announced and I am so devastated that I did not like it. ...more
