I believe if I had ever paused to consider the intricacy of all I did to keep those parts separate, I would have found it impossible. But I was young then, much younger than I suspected, and somehow I found the energy and time to do and be it all.”― Robin Hobb, Royal Assassin
Enjoying this series so much that I’m having a hard time pulling myself away! The twists and turns just keep coming. Again, narration is very well done. Diving straight into book three.

Absolutely loving this so far. Great character development and a storyline that is easy to follow. I’m already 25% into the next book. Wonderful audio.

I’m going to rate each book in the series in this review. First off, I listened to this on audio. While it was finely performed I really think it would’ve benefited by using multiple narrators. So, my recommendation is to read a hard copy rather than going with the audio format.
Here are my ratings for each book:
Book One: This one had a Twin Peaks feel to it. Interesting trying to figure out what was actually going on. Ending was the hook that propelled nicely into book two. 4 stars.
Book Two: This was my favorite! Action packed and a good knowledge of what was actually going on. 5 stars.
Book Three: This one had the potential to be a 5 star, however, the inclusion of irrelevant characters wasn’t necessary and distracted from the characters that did matter. Gore level was a lil higher than it needed to be. Seemed a bit rushed too. I really wanted a lil more closer as to what eventually happened to the remaining Wayward Pines residents. 4 stars.
Overall, a unique series that I’ll remember years from now. 4 stars.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t as good as what I’ve come to expect from Quinn. Too many characters all with some ‘issue’ that just seemed to weigh the story down. I’m still a huge fan, but think I’m going to go back and read more of her early novels. 3 stars.

I adored Whitaker“The thirteen-year-old pirate. And the beekeeper that saved his life.” ― Chris Whitaker, All the Colors of the Dark
Trust the journey.
I adored Whitakers debut novel, We Begin at the End, and though I wouldn’t say this one is on par with at one it is still a very well written novel. I’ve seen very conflicting reviews and I understand several of the criticisms. It was wordy and slow in its building. However, the story spans decades and there are a lot of important events that worked to build and shape these characters. I felt like the ending was that much more profound/emotional, because of this detailed story telling. My advice is to plow through and trust in Whitaker’s writing. In the end it’s completely worth it.
Narration by Edoardo Ballerini is very well done. 4.5 stars.

I’ve had this author on my TBR list forever and even got a free Audible trial specifically for her. Unfortunatly, I’ve gotten 30% in and at this point all the POV’S, nicknames, and ‘wokeness’ have run amok. Looked at several ‘friends’ reviews and seems the story starts to get a bit disturbing while moving toward the final reveal, so I’m deciding to set it aside before wasting anymore time. Highly, highly disappointed. No rating....more

This reminded me of a mix of Guardians of the Galaxy & Shrek with some moderately bad language. Lovable characters, a sweet story with a lil action thrown in. A story about friends and a love of books.
Glad I read this one before Legends & Lattes, because going into this one will feel like I never left this story.
It was an added treat that the author, Travis Baldree, narrates. Already started Legends. Highly recommend. 4.5 stars.

You only have to browse all the wonderful quotes from this book to appreciate Matt Haig’s gift of writing. His novels captivate me because of the thought provoking subject of ‘time’ and the questions of ‘what if’ surrounding it. Though this tended to be slower paced I still enjoyed.
Audio was very well performed by Mark Meadows. 4 stars.

Wish there’d been more action. Ending was the best part and did leave it to where I’m interested in seeing what happens next. I did like the dual narration and it was performed very well, however, I’m thinking this may be a novel that is better in print rather than on audio. This one was just ok for me… hoping the next book delivers a bit more. 3.5 stars.
