This is my most anticipated 2023 book.
Simon vs. is my all time favorite book since 2017, and although I gave every other Becky Albertalli book 2 and 3 stars, it won't stop me from reading everything she puts out until I find another 5 star. I'm nothing if not committed.
Plus look at that cover. I've just had the misfortune of seeing the UK cover, and that is an actual crime what they did to it. Whoever is responsible, needs to go to jail....more
Tears were shed, obviously. The only words that came out of me when I fisnished were "what the hell", while tears were running down my cheeks.
But I haTears were shed, obviously. The only words that came out of me when I fisnished were "what the hell", while tears were running down my cheeks.
But I had a few issues.
Let's start with the fact that nothing has happend till the middle of the book. The wife who was on the deep-sea mission already came back, but she came back changed, and the other wife didn't know what to do with her. The first half of the book was just them remembering their past, when everything was alright, but I don't like when a book is written like it's a diary. It's almost like a double past tense and it creates distance between me and the characters because I was not there when everything happened, I don't actually know them. So how should I care about them?
My bigger problem, however, is that I was left with so many questions. I was not expecting this book to be the next Into the Drowning Deep, but we didn't get any answers, so basically it's just a make-believe. I understand you can't put everything into 240 pages, but it took away from my enjoyement a lot....more

If not for the first two stories, I would have easily given it 1 star. Still considering it, since I can't remember the last time a book made me suffer this much - scratch that, yes I do. It was the Chronicles of Narnia series in 2020. My brain literally just wanted to shut down.
If the word boring could have a book form, this would be it, and I'm not even trying to be mean.

I can't do it anymore. I guess I see why people might liked this, but I don't get the hype at all. It was so boring, and honestly, what was the point?...more

But I do. I ship them lol. Please, somehow make it happen!
Also, the found family! I'm so here for it....more
