It involved everything fun , from quips , wits , action sequences that blow your mind , to Harry having a nice moment with Thomas, Harry being Gay , To Harry Burning another building .
Of course this one also had similar demerits , like the constant lines about female anatomy and many misogyny moments .
That said , it was just so much FUN !
Also the introduction of new sect of Little people and Yoda-esque talking Keef was just splendidly done ...more
This is a book about many things that happened , but Mostly , this book is about Idiots .
WHAT I LIKED :
This was basically my 2nd Backman book ,This is a book about many things that happened , but Mostly , this book is about Idiots .
WHAT I LIKED :
This was basically my 2nd Backman book , following "A man called ove" and one thing this books makes me certain is the talented writing style of the author. His writing is crisp and it makes the story fast pace but out of nowhere he brings in emotional moments that makes your eyes filled with moistness .
The benchmark of the book , beyond it's superb plot and it's execution are the characters all are unique and grow on you with each passing pages , at the beggining it felt like i didnt like any of the characters but by the end , i was rooting for everyone to get their respective happy ending
This book is supposedly a humourous one and it definitely has it's many moments of absolute hilarity but it starts off with a lot of tragedy and it keeps delivering many similar tragic moment in the lives of it's most certain eccentric characters .
There are quite a few twists and turns along the way as well , some are pretty obvious but for me the twists that are supposed to generate most emotions are ones that i didnt really see coming .
Meanwhile the book also deals with issues that matter in these times , from Depression , anxiety , panic attacks , suicide to forgivemeness , family , Self doubt and economical impact on society .
It's a multi-layered tale where friendships are made and it all simply starts with a bank robbery that soon transformed into a hostage crisis.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE :
Here's the thing , as much as i like Backman the storyteller and his writing at times , and mostly at the beggining few chapters of the book , the writing appeared to be a flight of ideas written by someone who is suffering from Mania . It was hard to get a grasp and hold my attention span .
I also thought the book carried on a bit too long in the end dragging the ending with epilogue after epilogue . Granted none of these epilogue were very long.
CONCLUSION:
As i said , it's a book about idiots but it's more than that and you should absolutely give it a read
P.s : apparently there's a Netflix show about this , but I'd still say READ!...more

So it's the first short story that Jim Butcher wrote in the Dresden Files saga , this was the story that Jim wrote to prove to his teacher that her suggestion about Jim writing a Modern Fantasy was a stupid idea , fortunately for him , She approved this story for a book series and now Dresden Files is one of the finest Modern Fantasy out there.
What I Liked :
This is a short story and I mean very short , it barely reaches 20 pages and yet manages to convey a varied range of emotions from me as a reader , there's specially a particular touching scene between Harry and the girl he was saving .
In the short 20 pages we also get a quick insight into what makes Harry Dresden so special , we learn of how his brain ticks and what his morals are and more importantly we find out about the first meeting of Harry and Murphy .
The Battle with the Troll was fantastic as well , since at this point Harry was still a flyweight amidst the heavyweight creatures and wizards in terms of magic , and during the actual battle he himself was fatigued so this battle had very little magic used and the magic that is used is actually pretty insignificant magic in terms of what Harry has in his arsenal , And all this was also entertaining to read .
What I Didn't Like :
All said and done this is one of the first work of Jim Butcher and it's no surprise that the writing appears a bit clumsy , even for a short story . I mean , I have always stated that the first 3 Dresden Files don't really show up much in terms of writing and ergo this one is actually worse .
There is also very little magic used and a lot of cliched plot used which had it been a long novel been actually a eye-rolling experience , but since it's a short story it doesn't bother me as a reader much , but it is still there .
Conclusions:
Honestly I won't necessarily suggest it for reading if you haven't read a Dresden files book yet , I think I've seen people say on Goodread that they read this book first as an introduction to Dresden Files and actually liked it , personally I'd say don't do so because Dresden Files itself is way different in every way possible from this book . So Dresden Fans , this is one to read if you can and non Dresden Files fan , go read the novels first than read this....more
As of writing this review I have completed one of my 2017 goals and finished reading all the Dresden Files main novels available as of now , and I must admit , while I started the book series a bit skeptical , it has now become one of my all time favorite book series.
As is the usual case , This Dresden Files book, like all of the other books before it , delivers in terms of fast pace , humor , fantastic magical world building , strong character development and most of all an absolutely fun reading experience .
The book also excels in relating previous books events and further develops certain characters into further newer roles . (view spoiler)[ (Butters). (hide spoiler)]
Meanwhile there were certain fantastic character returns and exploration of Greek Mythology that really amused me and made me realize certain things in regards to those characters and Myths that I hadn't done before
There's some really emotional moments in this book , probably more than any of earlier books in the series and the writing of Jim Butcher really manages for you to feel those emotions and making these books even more brilliant.
Book Quotes:
“I’d gone with my usual option. I was running through long tunnels filled with demons and monsters and nightmares, because it was easier than going to the gym.” ― Jim Butcher, Skin Game
Meanwhile while all the prior books depended on an amalgam of mystery and magic elements ,this book has a mixture of Heist and Magic .This resulted in twists , turns and many double crosses on every step to keep the readers guessing and entertained .The fact that how some of the previous books have dealt with characters meant that readers were also uncertain about many lovable side characters , and I for one was scared that my favorite characters may end up dead in a few pages
(view spoiler)[ Another massive positive was that Butcher managed to show that despite the massive changes Harry has undergone since he became the Winter Knight , he is still the same Harry (hide spoiler)]
, this was partly important to re connect the series with those fans who were offended or turned off by the changes in Harry in the previous few books , while not letting newer fans or fans who have appreciated these changes to feel let down either
What I Didn't Like :
I know that the series is planned to last 6 more books , but it still seems like somehow the last few books have side-stepped some major stories , specifically the matters of the White,Black & Grey Council and the matter of the White Court of Vampires .
There were also a couple of flaws or rather plot holes , not anything massive , very minor issues . This was somewhat surprising since I know that Butcher like Rothfus undergoes a process of Beta readers who help him find and correct flaws in his books , yet I did manage to find a few. That said maybe this is just some kind of planned inconsistency that Butcher has intentionally placed to make use of in future books, I mean it has happened before
Conclusions :
Book Quotes:
“You destroy buildings, fight monsters openly in the streets of the city, work with the police, show up in newspapers, advertise in the phone book, and ride zombie dinosaurs down Michigan Avenue, and think that you work in the shadows? Be reasonable.” ― Jim Butcher, Skin Game
And alas now ends my reading of one of the most entertaining series that I have ever read .The series kept improving with each passing book and Skin Games continues that trend to probably be considered one of the best books in the series . The next book has been awaited for the last 3 years and with no information regarding the release date available so far , it's going to be a very anxious wait for me . As I'm pretty certain that my skepticism of this book series during the first 3 books have been long forgotten and I have truly become a Dresden-Junkie , a fanatic , an Obsessed fan ....more

Cold Days - By Jim Butcher is the fourteenth book in this popular Modern , Paranormal , Over-the-top Protagonist , action packed , Fantasy tale and this one is probably the best , If you don't mind that changes and changed status quo .
Just Saying : Following my review of the last Dresden book (here) ,I was approached by a few fellow Dresden readers and they pointed out that for them the last book wasn't very good , there reasoning was that they didn't like that Harry Dresden the Protagonist changed so much , That the secondary characters changed so much.
I actually liked those changes.I do accept that everyone has his/her own opinion and many don't handle changes so well . So that said the following review is yet again based on my opinion , it's not been influenced by any one else's and I definitely don't think that this is the only opinion that one should have .
What I Liked :

It's yet another fast paced, action packed adventure , with a new role for Harry . The mission he undertook has gotten even more deadlier and near impossible and Harry once again obviously pulls it off complimented by some excellent writing by Jim Butcher that leads to probably one of the best plot in the series as of yet .
While everything that was previously good with the series remains as such this book got an advantage over it's predecessor in the exploration of the downward spiral that Harry took courtesy of (view spoiler)[ taking up the Winter Knight mantle (hide spoiler)] . Through out the book we see him face not only new deadly physical monsters but also monster withing himself and this struggle was one of the strongest aspect of the book.
Book Quotes:
“I kept a straight face while my inner Neanderthal spluttered and then went on a mental rampage through a hypothetical produce section, knocking over shelves and spattering fruit everywhere in sheer frustration, screaming, 'JUST TELL ME WHOSE SKULL TO CRACK WITH MY CLUB, DAMMIT!”
The supporting cast itself are very entertaining with the changed status quo developed during the previous book remaining intact . This leads to some very interesting character interaction and impact on the story .
Many of the previously established mysteries and details were revealed in the book , chief among them was the role of Rashid & identity of Outsiders , meanwhile newer antagonists were revealed and it was a joy-ride for the whole book with witty dialogues , fun characters , banters galore , mayhem of unprecedented level and fine mix of plot and exposition . But the best part probably was the finale that led to many a new changes that could and probably would impact future books of the series
What I didn't Like:
Yet again the flaws can be very subjective for the series. On a personal level I just had one problem with the book , that was the fact that in comparison to previous books of the series , this book took a little while to actually reveal it's key plot and sure it wasn't much of a big deal for me but it was a little something I considered to be worth mentioning .
Other subjective cons may include the fact that the new status quo for Harry and the other characters developed in Ghost story have now become a permanent thing , and one could very well argue that Harry as a character has changed considerably .
Book Quotes:
“About thirty feet from the door, Molly abruptly stopped in her tracks and said, "Harry."
I paused and looked back at her.
Her eyes were wide. She said, "I sense..."
I narrowed my eyes. "Say it. You know you want to say it."
"It is not a disturbance in the Force, she said, her voice half-exasperated.”
There's also the persistent issue of mild misogyny in the series and this time its actually a bit too nasty , but this was in part due to the demand of the story as they were needed to display how the new role of Harry is trying to change him and make him a monster that he had always fought against.
Conclusion :
Overall it was probably the best book in terms of plot and if the finale of Dead Beat wasn't so awesome I'd have said that this was probably one of the best book in the series . But while those who can't adjust to changes in their favorite characters may call this book a weaker installment , In my honest opinion this book was fantastic and deserved the Goodreads People Choice award that it received in 2013 ...more

The purpose of a review blog is for readers to post a review for the world to see , However for this post I'd rather want only those who have read this book to continue reading further. It may sound silly but I simply can't write a review for this book without giving out Spoilers of previous books in the series .
What I Liked:
Dresden Files books are always fun , they are certain to produce humourous banter between characters, sarcastic quips and wiseass remarks . Then there's also a really fast paced , dense plot, filled with exhausting amount of action and magic and not to mention a superb world building and exploration . As usual this book delivers on all of these fronts.
But what this book does better than it's predecessors is exploring a new entity and in doing so this book breaks the typical character traits of it's protagonists, giving him new rules , new perspective , new goals , new challenges and even a somewhat new world to explore..
It's always been fun to witness the adventures of Harry as he goes through them by using excessive amounts of physical , psychological and magical powers but here he is almost powerless , and whatever power he does have is pretty lame in comparison to what powers he used to wield , not to mention these new powers come with various new rules* that makes the already difficult tasks of Dresden even more tougher.
*half of which he doesn't even know about.
Similarly the plot also changes a lot of characters and their respective status quo resulting in a more darker world and a dark cast of characters to work with than ever before . This creates a scenario where reader realize how important Harry actually was for the Fictional world of Chicago & also focuses on how Harry's exploits have made Chicago vulnerable when he is not there to deal with the repurcussions of his action.
The writing of Jim Butcher also keeps reader guessing and anticipating the future events and all in all makes the hefty 600 pages fly by in no time with various new lore , myths , fantasies generated in due course of time . This was also followed up with another fantastic emotional end to the book and this time unlike the previous book Butcher's writing skill do manage to bring in a few emotional sentiments for the reader*.
*atleast it did to me and if it didn't do it to you , well I don't know , maybe you are made of stone or something.
What I Didn't like : [image]
Yet again this was a near flawless book for me , whenever I thought that something was wrong Butcher somehow managed to make it right. An example for this would be (view spoiler)[ the glaring omission of Thomas through out the story , as no matter what you think of Thomas as a character no one can deny that the death of Harry would hurt him the most , and yet he was missing for all the book , right until the final chapter and what became of Thomas actually turned out to be one of the best part of the book for me. (hide spoiler)]
The cons of the book can be very subjective feelings , as far as I am concerned none of the cons I'm about to list bothered me, But i can understand why it would bother others .
There were plenty of repetition of prior events and the magical mechanisms / rules in the book, it almost felt like Jim was trying to explain things to a new reader* . Another thing that can make few people be turned off is the fact that due to the special circumstances that Harry was in , his involvement while dealing with opponents were very limited .Many similarly may find the new status quo and further darkening of the world very depressing and dislike the new changes
*which is unlikely to happen on the 13th book of the series
Conclusions: [image]With the series nearly coming towards the end Jim Butcher's thirteenth installment in the Dresden Files delivers big time with a refreshing changes bought to each and every character , massive development of previous characters , fantastic new world , rules and myths created . Meanwhile the book doesn't forget what made it successful and keeps the old formula of action-filled plot , intense moments throughout the book , unexpectedly delivered witty and sarcastic humour and a fun filled page turner. A must read !...more

Sometimes you come across books that makes you feel touched , that feels relatable and gives you a breath of new motivation, these are rare books but when you find them they barrage into your "favorite books" list and you can't stop recommending it to people . A man called ove is just that kind of book . One of the most well recognized books and most read book of the 2000s , this is one book that's touched me so , that I'd not even think twice before pushing the book into your hand and threaten u with cub toreador it now .
Seriously! Go read it !NOW!
What I liked :
I'd like to go ahead and start by writing the most obvious thing one can say about this book (and judging by the countless Goodreads reviews, most people have mentioned it on their reviews) . 'A Man Called Ove can be shortly explained to be about a book about the old man from the first 10 minutes of the movie UP' . That is the most accurate and succinct way to tell what this book is about , but just like the first 10 minutes of UP , no one can prepare you for the emotional ride that is present in this book .
A Man Called Ove is basically a story about grit and determination of man throughout his life that's filled with countless joys and an even more despairing losses . Ove is your everyday curmudgeon , but a chance encounter with a new neighbor sees us the readers explore Ove's life and how he became what he was with many hilarity and warmth that ensues throughout this part-biography part-adventure of a tale.
On paper this doesn't sound much , but maybe that's where the author's skill as a writer comes in . He writes Ove as the naive creature who unknowingly helps and influences life and he suffers and he reacts to said suffering just like any other human would , but the way his life turns from one corner to other it's just heartwarming and it gives you the sense that there's always a silver lining that can make your life better , and that despite all that happens , there's hope for everyone
But the book isn't just about Ove's past , it's also about his present which sees him have adventures while doing simple stuff like going out to buy some grocery and along the way all the hilarious things happen that ends with Ove making new friends and new family
This book is simply too precious , it invokes every emotion you can muster and ends with so much love and hope and happiness and I am actually running out of adjectives to describe how I feel
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
The only thing that I didn't like about the book was the fact that it wasn't longer . Honestly I could read a 1000 more pages 100 thousand pages of Ove . And even then , I suppose my complaint would be that it's not enough .
Conclusion :
I haven't read a non fantasy book this good since I first read to kill a mockingbird , it's just so wonderful and inspiring . Look I have gushed so much already , I'd just end by saying this is one of my favourite books EVER! So , if you believe me , you are missing out , if you aren't reading about OVE . Go buy the book asap , Read It!

There's a easy for me to figure out when I really like a book. It's when i realize that I manage to read books bulkier by 500 pages or so and arrive at the end pages thinking when did I finish all those pages?
What I liked :
So basically past readers of this blog do realize there are things that i have always attributed to Dresden Files that I have liked and nothing changes here in that regards . The pace of the plot , the action sequences , the Hilarious jokes , witticism , the clever scenarios that Harry as a character creates to deal with UN-deal-able situations ... well They were all there and in top form .
Special mention must be given to the jokes because they were the key to me holding on to this series during the series rough beginnings and somehow during the last book Jim Butcher toned the jokes down , a lot , and yet managed to entertain like he usually does with his well developed and amazing plot. This time however Jim Butcher didn't sacrifice the jokes for the sake of plot and incorporated them perfectly to create a Hilarious page-turner with intense and well thought out plot .
Book Quote:
“There are bad things in the world. There's no getting away from that. But that doesn't mean nothing can be done about them. You can't abandon life just because it's scary, and just because sometimes you get hurt. ”
The growth of characters keeps on coming with Molly and Karrin Murphy given extra emphasis on character development . Molly's growth especially in terms of being a character and her relationship with Harry was very charming . In fact the character development and the plot makes this book one of those books that you can neither appreciate nor truly understand unless you have read all the previous books in the series.
Another pros of Jim Butcher has been his skills to introduction and exploration of unheard myths , in fact apart from the first couple of books Harry has rarely dealt with many stereotyped characters associated with the Fantasy genre. And in this book the addition of , what Harry fondly refers to as , Shagnasty was simply marvelous.
Book Quote:
“If you can't stop the bad thoughts from coming to visit, at least you can make fun of them while they're hanging around.”
Jim Butcher has considerably improved in terms of his writing when compared to his first book as some portions of the book just refuse to let your emotions be hidden. Jim Butcher also has managed to completely throw out the sexism previously associated with the series and uses it in comical fashion to make fun of his own characters silliness
The fallout of events in this book really felt to be of epic proportion and it really changed the status quo of most of the characters making it feel impressive and scary at the same time .
What I Didn't like :
The issues that I had with the book might not relate with every reader out there , so one might be right in many ways to call some of my criticism that I'll list now , but that said these are the issues that really bugged me .
Book Quote:
“I love being a wizard. Every day is like Disneyland.”
One of my main criticism for this plot remains double edged sword that's called secondary character development , I mentioned in my pros how much i enjoyed the growth of characters like Karrin , Molly , Thomas etc. but in trying to make them go from relevant to amazing it felt like these secondary characters sometimes took the spotlight completely away from Dresden at times .
In fact not to give away any spoilers but despite how satisfying the action sequences were I can't remember a time in the book when Harry actually dealt with his foes himself in this book , Sure he did most of the grunt work but the Final Move was always taken by the secondary characters.Maybe Jim Butcher was trying to get the point across that no matter how strong you are, you simply can't win them all
Book Quote:
“No one is an unjust villain in his own mind. Even - perhaps even especially - those who are the worst of us. Some of the cruelest tyrants in history were motivated by noble ideals, or made choices that they would call 'hard but necessary steps' for the good of their nation. We're all the hero of our own story.”
The Mysterious villain also was a bit predictable to me . Now I have read on many forums that people really didn't see it , but honestly I did , I saw it coming in Book 3 of the series and granted at times during the series I was suspicious of my initial conception but at the end I was right and it kind of left me crestfallen .
Conclusions:
In Turn Coat , Jim Butcher has managed to deliver one of the finest addition to the series . Which by all means may well be counted amongst the best of the series and yet i have had issues with certain elements of the story which ofcourse are very subjective . That said Turn Coat remains another exceptionally good addition to what has now become one of my favorite and most recommended series of books .
Have you read this book? Do you agree or disagree with my review?

To start it off , I must address the art. The artwork by Adrian Syaf is really neat . He has done fantastic job by bringing to life the awesomeness of Jim Butcher's writing into a pictorial view and for most parts he has achieved what most readers were probably hopeful for*.Credit must also be given to Syaf making the visual look so vivid , despite Dresden files story being set in a very dark world.
*or you know , he achieved what I wanted to , i.e a true to it's original material portrayal of Harry and his friends . Learn something Dresden files TV show.
In terms of plot , Jim managed to make a fine graphic novel story , that remains fast paced , despite the novels written by Jim themselves being fast for a novel , and moving in a comprehensively smooth pattern and filled with many a lot of intense and action filled moments .
What I Didn't Like:
[image]It maybe a fast paced fantasy story but you still need Dialogues to make a comics look great , sadly for a first attempt there's a lot of cringe-worthy dialogue exchanges and some of the dialogues between characters just come out incoherent at times . It's not seen always in the book but in majority of the book there is this malign habit .
Also partly due to this dialogue trouble and partly for some other reason the plot seems devoid of both humor and thrilling aspects. One can easily predict who the culprit is by the time they reach the 2nd book of the 6 book comicbook arc*. And for all purposes Dresden Files humour is one of the strongest points of the series . It's obvioulsy not completely devoid of humor but more often than not the humor is more of a miss than a hit
*or if you prefer the paperback than around 1/4th of the paperback
I also had reasons to gripe about the ending which felt to have been rushed. I don't know why it happens so often these days , that a story is set up so nicely only to underwhelm because they had to finish in a limited number of issue .
In terms of art there were some awkward facial features in few panels , Murphy's feature especially were very strange , as in books she was portrayed as a determined , but cute lady . This one had her looking like she is always grimacing for some reason
Conclusions :
For a first attempt to convert the amazing adventures of Harry Dresden this was a commendable, if not the perfect , effort .The fact that this is one of the tales that was referred to in a few books during some passing conversations but never actually published is something that almost every Dresden Files fan would appreciate. I don't necessarily recommend this book to all hard core Graphic novel readers , but I do recommend it to every Dresden Files fan...more

and dont think the book is only humour and stuff 4 chapters in particular took me into the realm of my brains that i don't visit too often , that realm is called - thinking too deep
The 2 Depression Chapters with there laughs were also signs of how depression really feels like, i m not gonna kid myself i have never been to those dark zones of depression myself but there are days that i have witnessed similar emotions , where i wake up and feel too sad for myself , and i could relate somewhat . and then there's the final two chapters which made me hate the authour coz that just felt like my story and now i am sitting and thinking "was i always so full of shit"
basically i am in love with this book and definitely in Love with the authour sadly she's married so i am now looking for ways to persuade my family to let me marry this book

Watney shows incredible calm headedness and resourcefulness in the book and if that fails to capture your imagination he does it all in an environment where he’s alone and is fated to die and he does it all in good humour , in fact scratch that he does in hilarious style in this generation we tend to use the acronym LOL a lot , we throw it a lot , even when we aren’t even laughing , it kinda makes me wanna miss the simple old days of a “HA HA” but reading this book I actually did L.O.L , in fact if I remember right while reading I did these following things
1. Laughed out loud in a moving bus full of people who actually might have thought I was a nut case 2. Fell from the chair of my OPD (thank god there were no nurses , senior physicians or Patients around , talk about losing credibility) 3. Sprayed mouthful of water accidentally (again thank god no one was around or certainly in the line of fire or rather line of spray water ) 4. There’s no number four I had embarrassed myself enough and learned to control myself and read the book in isolation away from work.
Anyways I can’t stress enough for you to go and read the book , ofcourse there’s a movie with Matt Damon playing Mark Watney on it’s way and hopefully he won’t ruin my memories of this amazing character . I am also curious to see how Ridley Scott directs the movie coz I can’t think of a good way to do it for me the book was all about Watney’s thought and I fail to see a 2hour long movies about a person’s thoughts. I end my Review with strong recommendations for this book and a quote from the book : JPL : We’ll get botanists in to ask detailed questions and double-check you work . your life is at stake , so we want to be sure . Sol 9000 is great news. It’ll give us a lot more time to get the supply mission together . Also , please watch your language . Everything you type is being broadcast live all over the world . WATNEY: Look ! A Pair of Boobs ! -> (.Y.) Yep that’s how childish funny this book is . GO READ IT ! NOW! ...more
So i have decided to delete my last review and write a new one , coz my 2nd read has left me even more flabbergasted.
WHAT I LIKED :
Lord GrimdarSo i have decided to delete my last review and write a new one , coz my 2nd read has left me even more flabbergasted.
WHAT I LIKED :
Lord Grimdark , as Joe Abercrombie is known as on twitter (or X) , set out to write this novel , his very first to create a world which was dark and in the process of doing so he created one of the best Grimdark fantasy to date .
And sure many would complain that it's not dark enough, fair enough, there's a lack or murder , Rapes , etc in comparison to something like A song of ice and fire , but whats dark in these books are it's characters and their actions , there's no hero here .
The characters and how they develop through out the book is marvellous to witness , you cab have your pick of diverse and fun character to call your favourite and yet none of the characters are actually good guys/gals .
But character and their darkness aside , Abercrombie's world is unique and so alluring , he puts you as a reader in the world and doesnt force feed you pages upon pages of information about his world like most fantasies , he instead acts as if the readers are already aware of the world and keeps pouring information fleetingly throughout the book. Heck he doesn't even care to explain much about the mythical creatures of his world or the magic system, (both of them excellent creation btw ) which is draining away and as a reader I never felt to have skipped a beat.
There's a lot of events that take place in the book that break the general trope in fantasy literature, and keeps you fixated and amazed. The pages are 500 thick and it never feels as such and reads like a 300 page afair.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE :
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING . This is my favourite series for a reason .
CONCLUSION:
Though characters are the biggest selling point of the series , the magical realism , fast pace , the tropes breaking , the awesome action and the unique magic and world system it's just nothing like any other fantasy and its awesome...more

Tintin and snowy set out on a cruise for a holiday but get entrapped in a adventure which leads them to Coasts in Arab to dry desert to British occupied India and all sorts of chaotic things happen while Tintin uncover the meaning of strange curses and disappearances
I remember the TV show vividly as I have rewatched it countless time and I dare say the TV show was masterfully done and on many levels seemed better than this book that said this book in itself is something I hold dear as the adventures tintin undergoes are both exciting as well as Humours the art and colours we're vivid and the story well illustrated especially considering the time period that they were published in
I'd have given it a five star but as I said I remember the TV show vividly and for a rarity the TV show was better that the book even if the book in itself wasn't bad but fairly entertaining...more
