This book is one of them with the usual - he fucks everything while she pathetically waits by - celibate of course -other girls mean nothing and he barely 'sees' them - but hey that isn't a diss on him - its a diss on them right? Cause they are loose but he's just protecting his emotions - he's so hot she can't resist even though she keeps saying she should - doesn't that make her an idiot? and even more pathetic? Or I am supposed to find this hot? -he can fuck loose women but scares away guys he considers douches because that is romantic right? -you know flaunting your horny and getting some but cock blocking your true love - and the reason is always she's too good for me - hell she's too good for everyone - she needs to stay sex free! -he briefly apologizes for all of the above shit and that makes everything all right! I mean we can't make him work for it after years of fucking around cause he's hot and we might lose him if we do that!
Can you tell I hate these sexist tropes? Sometimes they can work but this book is not one of those cases. Add in the over-the-top locals suddenly going psycho and I didn't know whether to laugh or roll my eyes.
The writing itself isn't half bad hence the two stars - I just am tired of books with doormat/celibate MFC's and holy crap there seems to be a lot of them from this era....more

The female character with the lousy sex life who talks down about herself (even though she's stunning) and hasn't got much of a back bone, which means I am already finding her pitiful and not in a good way. Contrasted with the hot, celebrity man whore who is also a sex god, whose apparently been pining forever for her. I sure as crap wasn't buying that story line. Which means I am now loathing this entire set up. Add in she also has body betraying syndrome and five chapters in I am already skimming.
So our previously one man woman heroine goes from not a hook up girl to fucking around in a hot tub in front of his teammates that he previously liked to share with. But you know - she's special - not like the other skanks - so its supposed to be hot. Cause you know her nickname is 'Saint' - gigantic eye roll. She's so special that even though he's fucked a ton of women they can go condom free - no STD worries here! At least on her end! I hate this shit - if you want to make your MC a man whore at least own it and all it comes with.
Finally I don't find it romantic he paid for her honeymoon and was obsessing about stealing her away at her wedding. He spent years after screwing around and 'claimed' he never knew her husband did. I don't buy that for a minute, that he was completely clueless - honestly it makes him look like more of a moron than he already comes across as. By the end of my skimming I basically loathed both of these idiots. Add in the pathetic cliche of making the ex 'nuts' and I was sorry I had even finished it....more

And we are told over and over again how kind she is (in addition to being unbelievable beautiful). Oh and how much he enjoyed screwing these other women to the point he wished he could make her watch. Yeah - six months of pain on his part should do it - gigantic eyeroll. ( I post on my desktop hence the lack of images - sorry!)
The wife in this case is so pathetic I was ready for her to meet her end tragically, probably run over by one of the women he used to screw. Can you tell I didn't like the book? I want my cheating books to involve lots of grovel and backbone usually from the male and female respectively. This one did not. Worse yet it was boring. Where was the angst? As a former soap opera watcher I live for the angst! Tons of unrealized potential missed here....more
I really don't know why I picked this off KU and even more not sure why I tortured myself reading it. I feel like those rubber neckers on the highway I really don't know why I picked this off KU and even more not sure why I tortured myself reading it. I feel like those rubber neckers on the highway trying to catch a glimpse of carnage. If your interested in reading about sexist and sex addicted characters feel free to keep reading my review below. Also keep in mind this is the so-called fucking hero of our book.
First off - I've read two books in this series and both the female and male main characters are cringe worthy in different ways and worse yet unlikable. The females are pathetic doormats, with body betraying syndrome begging for sex from man whores who proudly proclaim they only bang and run. Worse the women look like morons, making the stupidest choices while waiting for this asshole to come crawling out of his own mind (where he is constantly going over all the women he's screwed through the years) to save them. So I am both revolted and insulted while reading. I can take one but not both. I keep waiting for the female to grow a backbone but it never happens. Cause you know - he's too hot to resist!
This one starts with the preachers daughter (gigantic eyeroll) lamenting how she gave her virginity to the school lothario. As if that isn't bad enough we have to deal with the whole school thinking she wants to kill herself over him. Oh and the best part is he video taped it and everyone at school got to see it. But I mean that isn't unforgivable is it????? Or the fact that he had a bet he could turn a zero into a ten with a fellow classmate and friend. Who he is still friends with mind you.
Then we transition to the present where he is musing over the woman he screwed last night and who he can bag tonight. Wow - I really want to read about a romantic hero like this one! Of course even though he's strictly a one time only guy he also is amazing in the sack even if he can't remember their names! Just like all the rich, selfish, male whore Titans!! I forgot the best part - he has homemade porn videos he watches when he can't find a chick hot enough to screw him. A sex addict - Isn't this every woman's dream partner - a guy who finds sex boring if its the same partner too many times in a row. How I can't wait for our main female character to tame um bag this treasure!
Of course right after he recognizes her (when she's having a panic attack) all he can think about is how hot she is. I can't make this shit up. Oh wait it gets better. Her idiot friend convinces her she can turn things around on Jonas now that she is not a plain Jane loser and beat him at his own seduction game. But you don't know us wimmins bodies and brains are totally at the mercy of a hot man so this so-called tough, seductive woman caves like Gollum with the ring of power.
Meanwhile our heroine (who has added being bipolar to her list of traits) and a secret child, can't resist this red-headed beacon of male opulence. I really need to stop and do a dnf when I start reading these books because it just turns into rants like this one.
UGH - I am on a role with the man whore and almost virginal/virginal girl trope that I LOATHE. That said I can read it if its written well or I like tUGH - I am on a role with the man whore and almost virginal/virginal girl trope that I LOATHE. That said I can read it if its written well or I like the characters (Come to me Recklessly is a rare one - don't ask me why - I blame baby Ella and a possessive MMC).
This book has no baby Ella to it's peril. Worse it has a female character I literally couldn't root for. Rhyann - yeah note the cute spelling because she was supposed to be a boy - just irritated the hell out of me. She gets a dance scholarship to NY from Kansas (so she can be fully naive I guess) and then pretty much blows it in less than six months because its more important for her to strip at this club that her obsession owns. Said obsession spends most of his on page time talking about: a) all the women he's screwed over the years b) all the women he's best friend Jonas has screwed over the years - ok see a pattern - wait - c) all the women he's now married family members have screwed over the years. d) how much he enjoys screwing Rhyann
I get it - women are mostly good for screwing. And Jonas seriously is a sex addict and everyone seems to think its funny.
The girl who proclaims dance is her life: a) screws the manwhore the first time she sees him - in a bathroom - even though she's only been with her HS boyfriend before and they don't even share names b) moves in with a friend from the dorm then loses her apartment when friend loses her meal ticket c) is on a scholarship but bombs most of her tests and ends up almost raped by an evil prof when she offers to dance for him to help raise her grade d) obsesses over the male lead to the point where she is begging him to screw her repeatedly
I honestly was like who is this moron? I want my female leads to have goals beyond bagging the male skank whose proud he's a screw and dump them type. Her dance scholarship should be her priority not a guy who keeps telling her they can't be together after screwing her (and of course making her orgasm over and over). I hope she had the HPV shot in school is all I could keep thinking through out those scenes. Add in she's in love with him ??? even though they never really talk about anything of substance - they just screw and she dances for him - we get to hear about her lingerie a lot more than what they have to bond over.
Anyway - after suffering through all of that I skimmed ahead to find out if she got to live her dream as a professional dancer touring the world. I could care less if she got her dream of bagging Mason the rich Titan.
The book isn't terribly written so it got two stars and I did like the roommate. It obviously has some fans - I am just not one of them. There is a HEA so it does have some closure. At this point I am considering torturing myself by reading Jonas's book just so I can write a rant again :-...more

Hudson and Emma are high school sweethearts who break up over an academic scholarship. Fast forward a few years and Hudson is back in town and back in Emma's life due to their friends dating. Emma is determined to keep him at arm's length but Hudson is equally determined to win her back. Eventually she caves and what really happened all those years ago comes to light allowing Emma to see how mistaken she was.
I liked both Hudson and Emma and the story had just the right amount of angst and interesting secondary characters. One star off though for the tired trope of him fucking around while they were separated and her staying celibate. Lord do I hate that sexist trope. Especially when he said none of them mattered - my eyes roll so far back at that one I swear one day they won't come back to the front again it happens so often....more
I loved the premise of this book but it just wasn't for me. Silas is too much of a sexual animal for me personally to be comfortable with in my MMC. HI loved the premise of this book but it just wasn't for me. Silas is too much of a sexual animal for me personally to be comfortable with in my MMC. He's sexually ambiguous and part of a throuple to start with. He also screws around with the MFC's best friend. And he is part of a sex club. because he feels he should not deny himself anything he wants. Which is fine. I just personally don't want to read it. Overall though I didn't hate him, which is why I read more of this book than I was going too. At the end though I just found I didn't care if he found his true love and filled the emptiness inside him. Which brings me to Eiley.
Eiley is just too quirky and look I am so different than all the other girls. I have blue hands (literally) and one leg shorter than the other and to top it off I am a powerful Southern Reverend's weird, rebellious daughter. And don't forget a virgin! She also has no problem with anything Silas does and it leads to little angst between the characters which is something I, as a reader, want. I am guessing it comes from her father later, but I never made it that far.
Some people might like this book but it wasn't for me. I could handle some of the above, but not all of it. It felt like the author was trying to hard to be different yet cool or whatever word that currently fits that them. It just didn't work for me....more
