Lily Fireball has really been that bitch since book 1. You guys just don't get her like I do. I do wish this book was predominately in her POV but I get why choices were made. Loved the dual POV here though, 10/10.
This is the kind of story I would eat the fuck up as a 5-6 season TV show. Their story told chronologically, I would be deep in the trenches for these two crazy kids.

I do feel like it could have benefitted from a dual POV to help flesh out the romance and help differentiate it from Here For The Right Reasons. Especially as I felt like Mandie and Cece were practically copy-paste versions of each other. For the most part it felt like I was reading a f/f AU of Book 1 which lowered the rating and my overall enjoyment....more

2022 rating: 3.5ish Not quite the 4 star read this was when it first came out, but I still really enjoyed it. It's closer to a 3-3.5 right now because damn there are some red ass flags but it didn't completely ruin my enjoyment of the book. Still super hype to re-read book 2....more

I enjoyed this one more than I had expected. I was worried it would be difficult to get through but it turned out to be the exact kind of accessible literary novel that I really tend to enjoy.
My real issue with this one stemmed from the relationship between Sara and Emilie, and basically that I just didn't believe it. It felt too rushed with no proper build up, which in a novel that explores their characters beautifully, was a damned shame.
That said, I loved the hopefulness of the story and the ending. Definitely one to read although beware possible triggers - not that anything triggering is in too much detail.
