A Lady for A Duke is a rollercoaster. There was one scene in particular where I think I felt every possible emotion.
This book has an incredible premise, with interested characters, great representation (both with LGBTQ+ characters and disabled characters), hilarious dialogue, and beautiful writing. There were so many lines I noticed that were so quotable.
However, my only issue is that this book is long, and feels it. At some points, the beautiful writing did seem a little too much, and it dragged down the pace. Luckily, I loved the characters and plot more so it didn't bother me that much, but I can see it being an issue for people who aren't typically historical romance readers jumping into this for the first time....more

I couldn't put it down. I read all 500+ pages in 2 sittings. I never wanted it to end. I love all of the characters, old and new, I loved the direction the plot went in, and the romance?!?! I'm obsessed.
We follow three POVs: Tycho, the King's Courier (who you might be familiar with if you've read ACSDAL), Jax, a blacksmith, and Callyn, a baker. Jax and Callyn are best friends, living in a small village, who possibly get caught up in some minor treason. Meanwhile, Tycho is struggling to maintain the trust of the court and the king. I don't want to say too much about the plot, because I think it's best going in not knowing much, but I can tell you, it is absolutely addictive. I couldn't predict what would happen next and found myself glued to my book.
If you're looking for a fun fantasy read (with queer and disability rep!!) go pick this book up!

Lakesedge is creepy, ominous, and atmospheric. From horror to romance, this book has it all. I found myself glued to the pages, loving these characters and this world, eager to find out what happens next.
The relationships between all of the characters are at the heart of this story and truly make it shine. I loved the dynamic between our main character and her younger brother that she would do anything to protect. And the romance was absolutely adorable. If you like broody and possibly monstrous love interests, this book is for you. Their banter was so entertaining and I never wanted it to end.
I swear, Lakesedge was made for me. This book has similar vibes to The Haunting of Bly Manor and Down Comes the Night. And did I mention that 90% of the characters are queer? Our protagonist is demisexual, and we also have gay, sapphic, and bi/pan characters. Yeah, I'm officially obsessed.

The iconic Kissing the Coronavirus series is back with a third installment: The Mutant Strain.
And yes, I read it.
In fact, if you get a physical copy... you might notice a quote from someone on the back...
Okay, but before I share with you the quotes from this book that I will unfortunately never be able to get out of my head, let me give you some context:
Kissing the Coronavirus 3: The Mutant Strain follows Amy Amyson (a great name, by the way). She's a microbiologist who realizes that she's carrying a new strain of the coronavirus. If you are familiar with the lore of the Kissing the Coronavirus universe, then you might be able to guess what this new strain will do to our protagonist (I won't go into details, because spoilers).
Also, I would like to point out that the name of the new strain? The D1K strain. But that's not the only new strain mentioned in the book. We also have the VG1NA strain.
Now, what you're actually here for, the quotes!
"...was permanently lodged in her temporal lobe, which is the part of the brain that stores your memories..."
I didn't come here to learn but thank you M. J. Edwards for the science lesson. We love to learning things while reading our coronavirus erotica.
"Just the thought of it sent her vagina spinning like a thing that spins a lot."
ah, yes, the beautiful prose we all know and love
"It was like a sunburnt sea lion fresh out of the ocean. Even her positive Covid-19 test couldn't dampen her sexual spirits."
I don't even know where to start
"The sheer memory was enough to send an orgasm rippling through her body like her vagina had been filled with bees."
NOT THE BEES
"She was happy with a dick clumsily fucking her soapy tits like an eager boy scout cleaning a car windscreen with a slab of chorizo, a vagina rubbing gently against her forearm like a chewed beefburger."
I'm glad we get horrifying metaphors for multiple genders here
"... an immeasurable amount of genitalia hitting, tickling or gouging you in any one of your five orifices, which were what microbiologists like Dr Amyson called holes."
M. J. Edwards loves having women in STEM protagonists, and we really appreciate the commitment to detail here with the terminology
"If she had false teeth, she'd be good at licking her pussy like a dog licking the filling out of an Oreo..."
I'm never having oreos again
"She was already on her third rewatch of Big Momma's House 2"
Okay, I know this isn't an emotionally scarring line, like some of the others, but I think it's very important for you to know that Big Momma's House 2 is our protagonist's favorite movie. Because it's mentioned. A lot.
"She felt a tingle in her vagina, like she had just dipped it in vinegar."
I'm sorry, she what
"Her nipples poked through the air hostess blouse like she had brought in two extra peanuts, which Dr. Amyson couldn't wait to masticate."
I would just like to point out that the smutty scenes (yes. plural) in this book are between 2 women, so thank you M. J. Edwards for this incredible LGBTQ+ representation. Gonna include this in all my sapphic book recs from now on
"the air hostess dove vagina-first towards Dr Amyson"
just... how????
"She buried her face between her titties, which were big and soft like ripened wheels of cheese."
I have to say, this is the least emotionally damaging food metaphor in this book
"Dr Amyson clung to the wall like a gecko"
I don't know why this mental image brought me as much joy as it did
"her own tongue was now comparable to a hairless ferret, snaking its way down the intern's throat"
I want to cry
"Except it wasn't an earthquake. It was a pleasurequake."
please no
"The floor was sodden with juices that had been expelled from their two bodies, from every which orifice (hole) the two of them had."
thanks for the clarification there. i'm going to throw up
Those are all the quotes I'll be sharing with you, partially because I want to save some for you to discover yourself, but also because I don't think I can physically type any more.
After each installment in this series, I tell myself it can't get any worse. And each time, I'm proven wrong.
That said, this series has been the only reliable thing during this pandemic, so that must mean something.
On that note, please remember to wear a mask, social distance, and get vaccinated if you can!...more

I won't lie, I was a little nervous when I first heard the description (there are just so many ways it could go wrong with an author who didn't care enough) but I never should have been. I loved every single aspect of this book, the characters, their relationship, the discussions of religion, the sex-positive themes- it was all incredible.
This book is funny, swoon-worthy, and examines so many important topics. I cannot recommend it enough....more

One Last Stop follows August, who’s moving to New York City for a new start. And then, she meets Jane. Jane is a mystery. Quite literally. Displaced in time, Jane is stuck on the subway with no way off, and August has to help her find a way back to the 1970’s. But, the more time they spend together, the closer they become, and August’s small subway crush grows even deeper.
- Writing - If you’ve read Red, White and Royal Blue, then you have a good idea of what to expect with the writing of One Last Stop. If you haven’t- then what are you doing here, go read it! Or maybe read One Last Stop first.
This book is funny and heartwarming, the writing adding humor and relatability to each moment. Like Casey McQuiston’s first book, there’s plenty of quotable moments, and I feel that their writing has definitely developed even more since Red, White and Royal Blue.
- Plot - This book will have you hooked. It did take me around 50-80 pages to get fully invested, but once I was in, I couldn’t put it down. From the mystery to the romance, One Last Stop is absolutely addictive.
- Characters - August is an incredible protagonist with a great journey, and Jane is the perfect love interest for her. Together, their chemistry is amazing and they bring out the best qualities in each other. Both of them are realistically flawed, but often in painfully relatable ways. And their relationship? Adorable. But they aren’t the only two characters in this book, and I have to say: I would read a book about every single side-character in One Last Stop. They were all so well-developed, complex, and unique. And there is so much diversity in the main friend group, it made me so happy!
- Conclusion -
Pros- addictive, adorable, just absolutely amazing Cons- Not a con but I need to say it: don’t go into this book expecting Red, White and Royal Blue 2.0. These two books are very different, but both are truly incredible. Overall- 5/5 stars. One Last Stop kept me up until 2am laughing and crying over these characters. You do not want to miss out on this beautiful story.

Our Violent Ends is a beautiful conclusion to an emotionally devastating series. This book will stick with you long after you put it down. It is an atmospheric journey, with characters that will embed themselves into your heart, and relationships that will have you crying at 2 am (... totally not speaking from experience here).
The plot in this book is gripping and will have you on the edge of your seat. We all know Romeo and Juliet, but Our Violent Ends surpasses even Shakespeare. I had to put the book down several times just to breathe and prepare myself to keep reading. I also had to put the book down a few times in order to let the beautiful writing style sink in. There are some passages in this book that I would reread again and again because of how beautifully they were written, and how well they were crafted.
In the end, Our Violent Ends is the perfect sequel and has cemented this series as one of my all-time favorites.
