Meredith McCall never imagined that her seemingly perfect life could be derailed in just one night. The tragedy that struck pulled her in every direction, and things only became more complicated when Gabriel Wright crashed into her life.
Meredith's grief and guilt led her down a path from which there was no return. Her erratic behavior, though understandable, added a layer of tension to the story. I sympathized with Gabriel and liked the direction the author took with his character.
Regret is like an anchor that wraps around the heart and weighs it down, keeping it from sailing free. I certainly understand that feeling.
This book drew me in from the beginning, maintaining a fast pace that held my interest until the very end. While some revelations were expected, the story offered enough intrigue to remain engaging.
The Unraveling is a story of displaced obsession. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a psychological thriller.

Carly Michaelson unwittingly entangled herself in the lives of Nelson Carter’s family. As the threads tightened, dark secrets started to emerge. But it might be too late to save his innocent son, Jake, and herself.
The prologue intrigued me, but unfortunately, it went downhill from that point forward. The writing was dull and lacked the intensity needed for the genre. The characters were one-dimensional, and everyone seemed asinine and incompetent. The only thing I liked about the book was Jake.
Not My Mother had a promising premise but regrettably lacked in the execution.

I was drawn to both Dolly and Ken. I liked seeing how they coped and how their characters evolved, and of course, rooted for them right from the beginning. The story made my dark soul sing. It was dark, depraved, and gory. And the ending was exactly what I hoped for.
I cry out, not because of the pain, but because of how easily he fulfills that need in me. How quickly the dueling demons in my soul settle when he takes everything over.

Ripple Effect Episode 2 continues the story of the mercenary, Ripley and the runaway, Dylan. It had a different vibe than in previous book. If before it was suspenseful, this time around if was darkly sexy.
She’s one of those rare finds that you stumble upon, covered in dirt and grime that, when you scrub away the tarnish, is actually a stunning piece of art.
Ripley offered Dylan a deal she couldn't refuse, but it was up to her will to hold on to the deal which proved to be a challenge for her. I'm not going to lie, there were time I wanted to slap her unconscious lol!
This hell is mine. However long it lasts, it’s what I deserve.
This episode also touched more on her past and gave a glimpse of what his future could be like. I really like seeing the other side of Rip - both in term of physical and emotional.
"Truth is, Dylan, I’m not the kind of man to leave scars on your body, but don’t be foolish to think I won’t leave them inside your head.”
There's one big question still unanswered from Episode 1 and hopefully there will be some disclosure next

Episode 3 continues with Ripley and Dylan's story towards their end game. As Dylan worked to straightened her life, she and Ripley started to get comfortable with each other, but being comfortable in their lifestyle could be a very dangerous thing.
He’s not my savior. He’s an angel with black wings. A dealer of death. My ruin.
This time around we got to learn more about Rip's past - the path that paved the way to what he became today. He also started to show more vulnerabilities and that made him even more lovable to me.
A woman like that is dangerous for a man like me, but letting her go is no longer an option.
Dylan as usual, tend to have a rebellious streak that thrown her into predicaments. But I did like how fearless she was even when she's acting irrationally.

He may not be a hero in the traditional sense, but in my world, where violence is life and suffering is survival, Ripley is a brutal contender against the iniquity I’ve come to know. And that makes him a good man, in my eyes.
After finishing book 3, I expected a lot of things will be happening in the last book. It certainly did.
I do know how it ends, but pain is like a magnet. Once you’ve felt it, you see it in others and it draws you in. When you’re around someone else’s pain, it doesn’t hurt so much.
There were a lot of things that went on - some even made me wince lol! I like how the answers were unraveled. Some of them I could guess throughout the book, but I'm glad there were still things that I didn't expect.

But to reach it, they must break into the very horror they escaped from without even knowing if it would be worth it.

Reading this book was like immersing myself into two different worlds. Part one was the calm before the storm where hopes were still alive. Going into part two was like bracing a Category 5 hurricane and hope for a quick death.
“I’ll not lie to you. This is, perhaps, the most foolish thing we could possibly conjure.”
I liked the storyline, however, I felt some aspects were too perfect for a dystopian story. I also wasn’t a fan of a certain character who I thought was selfish and unreasonable. My favorite character in this book was still Cadmus and I’m glad he got to show his true self.
More thumping against the door startles my muscles, and I look up through a small square window in the panel, to see those faceless creatures tipping their heads back, as if trying to smell us through the steel.
Like previously mentioned, part two was intense and nerve-wracking. There were times I felt like I was in a horror survival video game. Thank god I was just a reader safely living behind the words lol!

This story felt slow for me in the first half of the book with more telling than showing. Thankfully it picked up later and I enjoyed it overall. I liked there were a lot of “puzzles” throughout the story, though some felt quite far fetch with how the characters were able to solve.
Sienna and Gavin’s pasts were interesting, and I liked them individually. However, they lacked chemistry as a couple. I was of course, drawn to Danny Boy and felt for him.

I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this book. It was slow at some parts, but I enjoyed it overall.
I am not real. I am a doll, a puppet dancing ferociously from the pull of its strings. I am an empty space contained within the shape of a woman, sealed up with an ever-present smile.

I used to do a better job of selling my act, my fake enthusiasm. Married life. Mom life. Friendships-falling-apart life. They’d worn me down. The act felt like too much work.

Freya had the motivation but not necessarily the right direction in pursuing it. It was interesting to see her rationalized her actions. But the closer she got to the answers, the truth might be far uglier than she could ever imagine.
I went into this one blind so I was pleasantly surprised by a certain aspect of the story, which is what I always love. I enjoyed the premise of the story, however, it was very long and it didn’t help with the constant timeline shifts and multiple POVs. I usually love that in a book but it was hard to keep up with this one.
Predators do that, Lindsay thought. They find the weak—even when the weak seem as though they aren’t weak at all—and they have an innate sense for whom to peel off from the rest of the herd.
The main characters were interesting and I especially enjoyed the dynamics and how they handled the situations. The revelations weren’t surprising to me but it wasn’t a deal-breaker. A scene towards the ending was a bit too much though, but I still liked how the story was properly resolved.

I was excited to start this one because it’s been on my TBR for a while. I enjoyed it overall, but it wasn’t anything mind-blowing. It felt more like a family drama than a thriller. It was slow in the beginning but thankfully picked up towards the end.
Perhaps it was too much to ask after what she’d done, but she just wanted her husband to love her…to want to be with her.
I like that each of the characters had his/her own issue and together they were a fascinating train wreck. Juno was my favorite and I liked seeing how she made decisions on her actions.

James was quickly running out of time. With his own and two other lives on the line, desperate times called for desperate measures. And with Adie Dumortier in the equation, things could turn out even worse than expected.
This time around, the story had more action and suspense that help keep my attention. I liked how much vulnerability Adie showed in this one. He was always so amusing and full of himself but it hurt me when he hurt himself due to the actions he took.
Once upon a time, I’d have been there to save him, but things between us have irrevocably changed, and we’re hurtling down a path we can never come back from.
I have to say Sandra is annoying AF. I hope she’ll die lol! One of my favorite scenes in the book was the chocolate cake scene. It was deliciously cringey.
Violent Retaliation turned into a direction I didn’t expect. I’m curious but also cautious on how this will change the dynamics between the characters I love.
