Next, we follow Alex as he damages police headquarters while tailing a dealer who has been selling drugs to kids at his school. MI6 intervenes with the police's charges and sends Alex undercover to Point Blanc, a reform school in the Alps, where apparently Roscoe's son goes. Alex uncovers sinister things going on within the school. Point Blanc was an action-packed, adventurous and suspenseful book. I liked Mr Blunt's observation: "Most schoolboys dream of being a spy. With Alex, we have a spy who dreams of being a schoolboy." It would be interesting to find out whether Alex's views change as the series progresses! ...more

She has stayed behind to work on a new project while her husband Neal and children head off to visit his family in Omaha. Georgie feels like her marriage is on the rocks for quite some time since Neal doesn't seem to be happy with her. Georgie has trouble reaching Neal in Omaha but when she tries calling on her yellow retro phone he finally picks up. Only it's Neal from the past! Is this a chance for her to find out what went wrong?
The phone was a catalyst in making Georgie realise what was bringing about her unhappy marriage. I liked that the main focus wasn't for Georgie to use the phone to change her past but to realise that she had to make a difference in the present! The story progressed slowly especially as Georgie makes multiple calls to the present Neal and him never picking up. I did feel like Neal was ignoring her and didn't want to work it out between Georgie which was frustrating. Not much happens in this book but I did like how it was realistic and I could empathise with Georgie....more

Six, Seven and Adam exit the Sanctuary after communicating with the Loric 'Entity' to find they have trouble leaving as Mogadorians have tampered with their ship. Four and Sam (now equipped with a legacy) are looking for Nine and Five (who are causing a scene on television with their crazy fight) and find themselves joining forces with the FBI and with a human possessing a legacy like Sam. Meanwhile, Ella is still trapped on the Mogadorian ship Anubis with Setrakus Ra, unable to do much except send telepathic warnings to the Garde.
The Fate of Ten was a fast-paced action packed book. The most important and the best bit of this book was the glimpse into Setrakus Ra's past and how Pittacus Lore came into (...and eventually out) of the picture. I didn't expect there to be new characters introduced so late in the series but we got two kick-ass females joining the crew (view spoiler)[Daniela and Lexa (hide spoiler)]. I continue to be disappointed at Seven because her role seems to be healing full stop. She's too emotional to be any good as a planner or a fighter... though thankfully, we have the awesome Six to fill in those roles. John plays a pivotal role in managing the chaos in New York city as the authorities seek his help. I can just picture Six and John being at the forefront of the final stand against Setrakus Ra. Seeing as The Fate of Ten is not the last book, the battle with Setrakus Ra wasn't final and predictably it resulted in the Garde retreating. However, the authors did manage to shock me with the battle's aftermath (view spoiler)[Sarah's death... (hide spoiler)].
Once again, there is a cruel cliffhanger ending and this one is absolutely devastating!!! (view spoiler)[Four gained the very rare Ximic legacy but he LOST Sarah. How is he going to react?!?!?! (hide spoiler)]...more

The story was pretty predictable and it took 400 pages to play out, with not many surprises thrown at me. I think the second half of the book focused too heavily on the psychotic character's behaviour to the point I was thinking 'get on with the plot already, I know this guy's crazy!'...more
