Quando Noelle lascia il suo fidanzato, il lavoro, e tutto ciò che in quel momento era la sua vita, il suo unico pensiero, e desiderio, è quello di voltare pagina per offrire a se stessa una possibilità: una vita che vale la pena di aver vissuto, un amore che possa ripagare tutto il suo passato, quel legame che possa riempire il suo cuore ed alleggerire il peso delle sue responsabilità. Nonostante l’abbandono, Jason, il suo ex, le resta comunque accanto. L’amore che hanno condiviso per cosi tanto tempo non può che rimanere a galla, anche se finito. D'altronde i sentimenti non si esauriscono del tutto, ma tendono a trasformarsi in altro. Le responsabilità che gravano su Noelle non sono poche e le serve tutto l’aiuto possibile. Suo padre ed i suoi fratelli le hanno regalato e le regalano tuttora gioie ma anche grandi difficoltà. [image] Non sarebbe il caso di tuffarsi a capofitto in una relazione, o almeno non cosi presto, ma come fare per ignorare quello sguardo e quell’attrazione? Lui è Elliot, il” grande capo”, e la vuole. Tutto è cosi intenso e veloce che la situazione sembra, per Noelle, surreale. Davvero risulta cosi facile lasciarsi andare ed innamorarsi? Davvero l’amore arriva cosi all’improvviso lasciandoti a bocca aperta e con un mucchio di sensazioni difficili e allo stesso tempo semplici da gestire? Sembrerebbe quasi la trama di un romanzo rosa, se non fosse per quei bigliettini. “Sei mia” Se non fosse per quella sensazione di essere osservata. “Siamo stati cosi vicini, ti avrei potuto toccare, lo sai?” Chi manda questi messaggi? E’ il caso di preoccuparsi o basta lasciar perdere? Noelle è semplicemente una donna. Una donna che ama con tutta se stessa, che sbaglia, ma che si rimbocca le maniche ed affronta ciò che la vita le propone. Desidera l’amore, ma è pronta a rinunciarvi per qualcosa di più importante. Luna e le bugie è la sua ultima uscita italiana, #ContemporaryRomance pubblicato come sempre da Newton. Il libro è collegato in modo blando al precedente libro Questa nostra stupida storia d’amore. Gli slow burn sono sicuramente un genere non adatto a tutti. Mi rendo conto che non è facile leggere un libro di quasi 400 pagine dove il primo bacio arriva quasi alla fine. Quello che mi piace di questi libri è che non contando su espedienti come l’attrazione tra i protagonisti, o almeno non quella palese, la vera differenza la fa la storia in sé. Il precedente libro della Zapata non mi aveva fatto impazzire, questo è stato migliore ma comunque non raggiunge il livello dei primi due, che sono tra i miei preferiti di sempre. Penso che il fattore determinante nel mio giudizio sia proprio la storia. La trama in sé non è male, ma lo sviluppo della storia è stato un po’ povero. Non ci ho visto quella evoluzione che mi piace vedere in una qualsiasi delle storie che leggo. Mi piace che la storia parta da un punto A, magari passi da un punto B e arrivi finalmente al punto C. Scusatemi l’esempio un po’ strano, ma è il modo migliore che ho trovato per spiegare quanto sia importante per me l’evoluzione di una storia. L’evoluzione in questa storia non l’ho percepita molto. Ho amato le caratterizzazioni dei personaggi, perché l’autrice è brava in questo e la rete di personaggi secondari che costruisce intorno ai protagonisti. Speravo davvero in un sensibile miglioramento in questo nuovo libro, non mi resta che spostare le mie speranze sulla sua prossima pubblicazione. ...more
