What are our memories You keep wondering throughout the book, what is love? The one you have for your surroundings, to your friends or to your child? What are our memories made of? How do they get blurred by our fears and with our first experiences? How can we still have faith in a world that feels so wrong and scary or perhaps only because of it?
Losing the people we love, leaving the places we once thought as home, and eventually becoming idle and losing our importance in life can be disorienting and it might be hard to make peace with it but that is how life is for all sentient beings. The story of Klara is no different than ours, and her connection to Josie is not any less than a human bond.
The novel is beautifully written and it felt like watching a Wong Kar-wai film, the love and the life happens as if it should always been described by this novel or those films. The sense of nostalgia and the ambiguity of a strange dystopic future blends into a magnetic reality for us mere observers through Klara’s eyes.

Alternatif yaşayış biçimlerine olan ilgimin de bu kitabı beğenmiş olmamda etkisi vardır muhtemelen. Sinek Sekiz baskısının çevirisini de beğendim. ...more

It was written beautifully and created an imaginary world with a strong daring woman in the center. The modern interpretation of the known mythological stories and their smart connections defined a fun puzzle to solve while keeping the reader actively interested in quirky nuances of eternal beings. The feeling of the book’s great atmosphere stayed with me the days after I finished it, and I am sure it will be one of those books that affect you even though you forgot everything in it. ...more
