After Grady got married to his Willa, Tony can't help to be a little envious. Although he moves through his girlfriends faster than he can put out fires, deep in his heart he would like to have a serious relationship. But he knows that marriage isn't in the cards for him. Because of his dark past, he is convinced that marriage is not something to aspire. The only girl who sticks around is Kayla, his BFF. After splitting up, they remained friends. And Kayla is always there for him. When she challenges him to go with her to visit old burn sites to photograph them for her new project, he agrees. She convinces him to look up his old exes in the neighborhood and ask them why they split up. Can you imagine looking up you old exes??? Of course, there are some very hilarious encounters and Tony realizes he has been a very shitty boyfriend in some cases. And Kayla learns a lot about the guy she thought was a commitment phobe. Because maybe Tony has some legitimate reasons to despise marriage. Find out more about their hilarious banter, the rancuneus exes and the great simmering attraction between Tony and Kayla. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

The four parts are written by different authors, but the stories interact and use the same characters. All the stories take place in Wirralong, so the town and the inhabitants will grow on you!
Of all the four books, I guess this one is the darkest one. We meet Jack, whose mother has suddenly past away. Reluctantly he returns to Wirralong, where all the people have thought his family was a bit strange. Having a criminal dad, a brother with a nose for trouble and a mother always looking for a treasure, wasn't the easiest way of growing up for Jack. Therefore, he wants to finish up business in Wirralong and be on his way.
However, Elsa, the hairdresser in Wirralong, isn't about to let Jack wander off like that. Growing up, she never met him, but she has known of the gossip and the stories. But when he shows up at her saloon, just minutes before his mother's funeral, she sees the gossip hasn't done him justice.
So she tries to get through the walls around his heart. And when she finally succeeds, Jack's history catches up with him. Determined to save Elsa from the troubles from his past, he flees Wirralong.
But maybe, maybe the past and your parents don't define you. If only Elsa can make him see that. Heartbroken, wonderful and romantic. Three out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgally for providing the arc.

Since I didn't realize the fact that it was part of a series, means you can really read this book as a standalone. The book starts with Carla, who arrives at the doorstep of her aunt in Mexico. But instead of her aunt, some big and hot guy opens the door. And quite rude tries to get rid of her. However, the short tempered and sassy Carla is not about to let some stranger (no matter how hot he is) prevent her from entering her aunt's house. So after some funny banter, Carla enters the house to go find her aunt.
Jonah (yeah, the hot guy) is instantly attracted to the feisty princess. But princesses are high maintenance and that is not what Jonah is looking for right now. So ignoring and staying grumpy towards Carla are his main options to keep her at bay. So Carla doesn't really understand what the problem is with the dark and brooding guy currently staying at her aunt's. He, however is terribly wrong if he thinks she's after her aunt's money. Because that is definitely not the case. Carla just needed to get away from home. From her ex-boyfriend (as in: really ex, out-the-door-never-want-to-see-you-again) and all the bad memories. But being single has some disadvantages and it is nice as some big and surly stranger can scratch that itch. Because after all: since he is not a keeper, it is 'no strings attached' fun. So when they are stranded together because of a hurricane crossing Havana, Jonah sees a different side of Carla, than the high maintenance princess he pecked her for.
But after the storm, Carla's dad is coming for her and whisks her away back home. There, Carla finds out the scratch kind of left a mark: in nine months to be precise... Unable to tell Jonah the truth over the telephone, she asks him to accompany her to her sister's wedding. There, Jonah meets Carla's totally crazy family. Will the baby and her crazy family make him walk away? Find out in Break of Day. Four out of five stars from me, with a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc. And I'll be checking out parts one (Stroke of Midnight) and two (Dusk Until Dawn) to see how the brother and sister of Carla get hooked up!

And although it wasn’t Christmas yet, the story of Finn and Melody sure made you feel a little cozy. Both Finn and Melody are damaged, and not in need of love. However, it didn't matter if I had read the other stories, because you can read them perfectly stand alone. Although we have a connection with the Redemption Harbor Consultancy bureau, that is pretty much it. The story is mostly about Lucy Carreras. She is working for her uncle at one of his luxurious hotels. What she doesn't know, is that her uncle is using the hotels to cover up his maffia activities. When she suspects that one of the hotel employees isn't working for her, but for her uncle, she meets a very charming man. Leighton is a customer at the hotel, who she finds very attracting. When he asks her out, she refuses, not wanting to mix business with pleasure. What she doesn't know, is that Leighton is undercover, trying to unmask her uncle. While she is a suspect to the criminal activities, Leighton tries to woo her in order to gain information and access to Lucy's uncle. Tara has already painted the picture of the highly disfunctional Prescott family in Stupid Love (Theo’s story) and Snow Job (Sebastian’s story).
We ended the story in Snow Job, where Kayla (Sebastian’s girlfriend) and her roommate Willa were just rescued by Max and Lucien.
After being held at gunpoint, Willa agrees to come with Max to his house to recover from the shock. Max, as in: Willa’s sexy-as-hell-but-off limits-boss, who also happens to be the brother-in-law of her roommate Kayla.
While secretly having a crush on Max for months now, Willa has a hard time with leaving Max’s protective body. So, when hugs turn into kisses-and some more hot activities-Willa can’t believe her luck. How can her sexy billionaire boss be attracted to her, the grey mouse of the company? But when Max basically gives her ‘the walk of shame’ after a night of steamy sex, Willa is hurt.
She is determined to stop hunkering after her boss and find herself a decent guy. Since her main project is the devolpment of a dating app, she decides to participate in the beta testing of the app.
She gets paired with a mysterious guy and they really hit it off.
Max has been beating himself up, for letting Willa go after their intense night. Having had the most terrible example of family life and not being able to have a normal relationship, Max feels he doesn’t deserve Willa.
But why does he feel guilty for really enjoying the easy banter and comradery with this mysterious woman on their new dating app?
When they accidently find out that they are matched on the dating app, Willa and Max decide to give their romance a go. But there is a lot to overcome: both between them as in their environment. Per usual: Lucien is a really scary guy, doing all kinds of shady things. I can’t wait for his story.
And we meet daddy Prescott in this story and he is definitely the epitome of assholiness. So in all: fast paced, cute, funny and with some suspense. What a ride! Hopefully Lucien is up next! Keep those Prescott’s stories coming please. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

As the 'big' brother in the Prescott family, Lucien has always looked out for his younger brothers. But now they are all having girlfriends (or even wifes) and little babies underway. It makes Lucien feel old with his forty plus age. And even more frustrating is that the one woman he actually has feelings for, is someone who is totally off limits. Olivia, the twentysix year old daughter of one of Prescott's most important investors is the one woman who Lucian wants to have, but can't have. For years, he has kept her at an arm's length, although he wanted nothing more than to claim her as his. But when Olivia's father asks him to work together with her on a project and Lucien realizes she is in danger, because of a very dangerous stalking ex. Having read The Best Man Problem and The Roommate Problem already, I knew that this one would probably also be cute, funny and hot. And it certainly was! Tamsen is the chaotic artistic type, who-more than often- creates havoc without meaning to. Easily distracted or totally zoned out on one of her projects. she has some emergency assistance needed on more occasions than she can count. And her latest antics have gotten her stuck in a plaster cast. When she is rescued by a hotter than hell fireman, she is mortified when she meets said guy again -at her father's engagement party: to his mother! Parker loves structure and stability. But he can't seem to get the cute little artist from his mind, who he rescued a few days ago, until it appears that she will be his new stepsister. And thus a big no-no. When Parker's mother tricks him into organizing a wedding shower with Tamsen, Sparks starts flying. But making out with your new stepsister-to-be, while investigating whether her father isn't after his mother for her money and preparing said shower may be a little bit much for Parker. So much for order and routine. Because with Tamsen you never know, which disaster she will be heading for next. A funny, cute read. Perfectly for a fresh spring day to enjoy the sun. Charmed by Charlie is the perfect office romance. If you ever worked as a product manager, you can probably recognize a lot of Valerie's 'all-in-a-days-work' adventures. Last minutes requests from your nasty boss about the latest sales figures. Having them to rework all day, because the graphics do not look convincing enough, overhearing discussions in a meeting room and gossiping with your BFF colleague at the coffee machine.
Val's best friend Bernie is hilarious and the constant bickering between her and Val's fiancé George is very amusing. And I also think the Spice Boys is definitely better than Haddad's...
And what's not to like about Charlie? Charms, looks, flirtatious remarks, he has it all. Including the Senior Product management job Val's had her eyes on. So no, she really doesn't like Charlie. But Charlie clearly does like her. And everybody in the company seem to have set their eyes on Charlie and Val to save the company with the newest discovery in paint and a grand marketing campaign. Every turn Val takes, she (literally) bumps into Charlie. Infuriating, especially when Val feels their mutual attraction, but really tries her best to deny this.
And when Seth (Val's ex-fiancé, who cheated on Val with her best friend and roommate Deidre) reappears, Val's misery is just complete. Who can she trust and how can she trust her heart, when every guy seems to lie to her. Even faithful and reliable George. What secrets does Charlie hide and who is draining the company funds? Val needs to find out soon, or she will be out of a job. Can she find out the truth or will the men in her life keep painting pretty pictures?
Funny, charming and a great read. Thank you Amanda Uhl and Netgalley for this arc. Four out of five stars from me.

Four out of five stars from me....more

And although you can read her books as standalone, it is sooo much more fun if you read the whole series. This series is about the wealthy MacArthur family. In Falling for Irish we met brother Daniel. In this story we meet Brodie, who is the head of security for his friend Trevor.
Trevor is in need of a nanny, since all of his previous employees have left shortly after another.
Patience gets roped by her mother to help Trevor out during the summer. As a previous nanny and current preschool teacher, she is totally able to help Trevor out.
Brodie, however, is suspicious of Patience's motives. So, he starts to check her out and he is regularly checking in on her nanny job. But soon the monitoring doesn't feel like a job, since sparks are flying, between Brodie & Patience. However, when strange incidents start happening in the house, Brodie needs to ask himself, whether Patience is the culprit of the accidents or the victim. Suspense, romance and fun. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
And hopefully Trevor will get his own story as well. The next part of the series will be about Daniel and Brodie's sister Sienna. Can't wait!

As soon as the arc is granted, I just drop about every other book I was reading to start on hers. This time, it is a short novella about a new series: the MacArthur Family Series, starring Daniel the hot shot multimillionaire, who had a relationship with Kathryn, until she walked out on him after a few months. As a multimillionaire it is always difficult to know whether a woman likes you for who you are of for what you have. But with Kathryn, he though he had something genuine. Apparently not. When Kathryn took on a new project, she hadn't realized it would be for the company that Daniel owns. Figuring the chance of coming eye to eye with the guy who broke her heart is slim, she accepts the job. But of course, they bump into each other. And when he invites her for a business dinner to talk about her assignment, she agrees. But when Kathryn is harrassed and attacked multiple times, both can help but wonder who is behind those attacks? Is it because of Kathryn's job? Or does her reconnection to Daniel have something to do with it? Suspense, sparks flying and a twist of events, you don't see coming. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I really like those K9-dogs with their hot officers. So, after Lock 'n Load and Armed 'n Ready I was very happy to see Dark 'n Deadly. This time it is about Andi's friend Tess McTavish, who gets a call from her brother Jesse after ten years. Tess has escaped from her abusive stepfather at eighteen, only having to leave her baby brother of eight behind. But now, her brother was supposed to drop off a shipment, and he was caught red handed by Eric, the stick-to-the-rules officer, who lost his friends due to an attack by one of the baddest mafioso guys from the neighborhood. Ever since, Eric has been brooding on revenge. When he arrests Jesse, a young boy, who was driving around the same type of explosives which killed his friends, he knows that Jesse and Tess are hiding something. Tess doesn't want to trust the annoyingly handsome officer, who has been her and her brother's rescuer. Because all the men in her life have betrayed her and abused her. But now she has to stay at Eric's place with her brother, until they can figure out who has ordered the shipment with the explosives. A story full of suspense, family ties and revenge. Heart breaking, wonderful and sweet. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I've read the Reckless Heart series of Heather and those guys where kind of cute. But not Niyol, nuh-uh. He is a bad ass biker, member of the Red Dragon club, just fresh out of jail. Full of scars and tattoos and dark and broody. And we have cute as a rainbow, Summer, a teacher who also trains the cheerleaders at high school. As a favor to her best friend, who is currently on a much needed cruise with her fiance, she agrees to drive her stepbrother across the country. The drive of one week will give Summer a much needed distraction from the fact that her marriage was cancelled last minute because she caught her fiance cheating on her. However, being stuck in a car with a hot as hell guy, who is too grumpy for his own good? Maybe not such a bright idea... Both Niyol and Summer can't help but feel attracted to each other. And when Summer discovers that the bad guy has a little teddy bear heart beneath the tough exterior and when Niyol discovers that maybe the cheery attitude of the cute girl is nothing more than an armor to the outer world, they connect. But Summer doesn't know that Niyol's dangerous past is catching up with him and she will end up in the cross hairs. Suspense, laughter, romance and heartbreaking stories! Hold on to your bike and enjoy the ride! Heather has done it again. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
