I know when I have a new Cookbook Nook Mystery to set aside a day where I can read the book from beginning to end. Seriously, I want no interruptions. With WREATH BETWEEN THE LINES I have set a new record for finishing a book in one setting. I even went back and reread my favorite parts!
There was more than one story happening in WREATH BETWEEN THE LINES. The question is, are they all connected? (What? I’m not telling you!) There were so many plot twists, each one was like opening another gift. And trust me, that made for a lot of unwrapping. But the author unraveled the tangled ribbon of clues and deceptions and delivered a reveal that I never would have guessed!
I love every minute I get to spend with Jenna and friends. I always feel like I’ve come home. The way author Gerber writes this series, I can hear the character’s voices as I read and envision every detail. I truly I feel as though I have walked every square inch of the Cookbook Nook, and every mile of Crystal Cove. Writing like this is what made me the reader I am.
There is one more important ingredient of book. Recipes! Over a dozen wonderful, mouthwatering recipes! Daryl Wood Gerber had outdone herself with WREATH BETWEEN THE LINES!...more

I have loved everything about the Cookbook Nook Mysteries since book one, page one. I fell in love with each character the moment they appeared on the pages. There’s soooo much I want to say about SIFTING THROUGH THE CLUES. A lot of which I can’t because of spoilers. What I can say is, this is the best in the series so far! This book had me glued to my chair. A compelling, exciting mystery, there were times I was holding my breath. Author Gerber did such a great job keeping me guessing, I had to force myself not to peek at the ending! There were also times I was laughing so hard I was crying.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from cover to cover. SIFTING THROUGH THE CLUES in one word? FABULOUS!

This fifth book in the Sally Solari Mysteries wasn’t missing a thing, except for the main character’s sense of smell, and her sense of taste. Not a good thing when you’re a chef. They’re her most important kitchen tools.
Poor Sally! I could feel her panic when she realized her smelling and her ability to taste were knocked out by a head cold. Author Karst did such a great job with Sally’s feelings about this, I found myself in a panic with her. Adding to that is the food competition our protagonist is in. Things couldn’t get any worse for a chef. Well, maybe if there was a murder.
A pager turner for me from the very first chapter, THE FRAGRANCE OF DEATH had everything I’m looking for in a mystery and more. And, even more than that when you count the recipes included!
Even though I’m a great fan of the Ms. Karst, I admit I have missed a couple books in this series. I’m going to remedy that asap. I can’t wait to see what else Sally has been through, and what situation she finds herself in next! ...more

Enter the Fuchsia/Brilliant, MN Crossover!
Author Seedorf has brought together, for their first shared adventure, senior sleuths, Hermiony Vidalia Criony Fiddlestadt, aka Granny, and Jezabelle Jingle. Best! Idea! Ever!
Whenever I start a book with Granny or Jezabelle, I always have tissues handy because I know I’m going to laugh myself to tears. Half way into reading this geriatric cozy mystery, my tissue supply ran out!
Granny and Jezabelle are like oil and water. There is no way these two ladies should have been able to work together. However, when it came to finding a dead body while on vacation with each lady’s best friend, they were able to put their differences aside (well, most of them), be the supersleuths they are, and find themselves a killer!
Through I’m still laughing while typing this review, be assured, WEED LAKE isn’t a comedy book. It’s a very well done cozy mystery that, crafted perfectly by the author, had me stumped until the surprising reveal.

She has never disappointed and that includes this wonderful book, THE CORPSE IN THE GAZEBO. This fifth book in the series is just as tasty as the four titles that came before. Actually, is has even more flavor!
THE CORPSE IN THE GAZEBO held me prisoner with every page. What seemed to be an open and shut case of our protagonist committing murder, evolved into a twisty turny who-really-dunit that had me second and third guessing myself right up until the heart racing end. In fact, it was so hard to put down it went with me to the kitchen for food and drink, and (Warning: TMI Alert) to the potty.
Fans of the Food Blogger Mysteries and of Debra Sennefelder, will not be disappointed with this newest installment. Those who aren’t fans . . . that translate to “those who have never read a book by this author” . . . THE CORPSE IN THE GAZEBO will change that.

I wasn’t even finished with the first book in the series, and I was ready for more. And more I got! Now, having read book 10, A CALCULATED WHISK, I’m ready for the next ten books!
A wonderful read, A CALCULATED WHISK, drew me in one the very first page and left me out of breath by the last. This story had everything that makes for a great cozy mystery.
Protagonist, Jaymie, had her hands full when a murder from the past leads to another murder in the present. Trying to work out the who and the why, I unleashed my inner Nancy Drew. Nancy must have been asleep because I couldn’t figure out this mystery. Author Hamilton left plenty of clues, but I just didn’t figure them out. When the reveal came, it was a total smack-myself-in-the-forehead moment. So well done!

Since the first A fast paced page turner from the very beginning, BEAUTY AND THE DECEASED had my head spinning faster than one of Kelly’s sale racks!
Since the first book in this series, MURDER WEARS A LITTLE BLACK DRESS, I can’t get enough of the Resale Boutique Mysteries. BEAUTY AND THE DECEASED was a prime example of why.
BEAUTY AND THE DECEASED was everything, and more, than I expect from this series. As always, author Debra Sennefelder transported me back to Luck Cove and all that I love about it. The characters, Lucky Cove Resale Boutique, and all of the fun and drama that comes with this series were all ramped up, making this the best book in the series so far.
Protagonist Kelly was as on point as ever, both in her business and her sleuthing. Investigating along with her, I was enthralled with how this mystery was playing out. However, even though I was enthralled, I had no idea who the killer was! From one chapter to the next, clues that were adding up for Kelly, were only becoming a light bulb over my head pages after Kelly had them figured out. Needless to say, I had no idea whodunit until the reveal. All I can say is, Wow!
BEAUTY AND THE DECEASED, is the cozy you’ve been waiting all year to read. And Debra Sennefelder is the author you’ll most look forward to reading in 2022. ...more

How an author can continue to make fresh, new books in a series already on its seventh title, is beyond me. Yet, author Krista Davis does just that. She has once again added even more depth to this, her seventh Paws and Claws Mysteries. Brava! While there are times I can become exhausted chasing around with a protagonist who has her teeth into something and just won’t let it go, BIG LITTLE SPIES was not one of those cases. I was happy, eager even, to follow along with Holly in an attempt to catch a killer. When every lead that came up turned into a tangled leash, I found myself totally clueless. WHOLE LATTE MURDER is the perfect installment to the All-Day Breakfast Café Mysteries. I’ve enjoyed watching the characters grow from book to book. I really feel like I know these people, which, has me truly invested in each new story.
Author Lena Gregory has a lot going on in this addition to her series. Page after page I was glued to this book, unwilling to put it down until all my questions were answered. As the facts and the fake outs kept coming, I found I was second guessing myself. Heck, more than second guessing. By the time all had come to light, I was exhausted in that way that only comes after reading a really good book.
And kudos to author Gregory for a murder weapon I’ve yet to see in a cozy mystery. It was as disturbing as it was original.
A lot has happened since the first in this delicious series released back in 2018. Over the years, each new book, much like a new ingredient, has added depth and flavor to this recipe of a mystery series. WHOLE LATTE MURDER has added another whole layer.

I went through them like I had been starving for reading (and I was at that point in my life). And here we are at book 13!
Some may say that a series that runs too long will get stale. Those people have never read the Cupcake Bakery Mysteries by Jenn McKinlay. The very opposite of stale, FOR BATTER OR WORSE, is fresh and fabulous, and the perfect addition to this series. Once I sank my teeth into the first page, I devoured the rest of the book in one setting, and was instantly hungry for the next installment.
FOR BATTER OR WORSE is the book we’ve been waiting for. The marriage of Mel and Joe! Or is it? ;-) Things are never as easy as it seems for the Fairytale Cupcake crew. But they always manage to bounce back. The characters in this series just keep getting better and better. Author McKinlay is so great at letting the characters grow. We find out something new about one of them in each volume, and this one is no different.
As for the mystery in, FOR BATTER OR WORSE, wow! I mean, I was all over the place trying to figure this one out. Everything that seemed crystal clear at one moment, became thick as frosting the next. With more twists and turns than the swirled icing on a cupcake, I kept running in circles with my guesses. Seriously, each time I had the villain guessed, I was proven so very wrong. Brava, Ms. McKinlay.

It’s clear that author Bolton has nurtured this series. The growth of the characters is evident. Don’t get me wrong, the characters have been wonderful from the beginning. But, they have evolved since the first book into a group of people I would love to have in my life.
The characters aren’t the only thing to have evolved. BEYOND A REASONABLE DONUT is the best of the best in this series. The story is solid, with all of the elements expected in a cozy mystery, amped to a new level. With finesse, the author filled my head with misleading clues, and had me self-doubting myself right up until the reveal.

I have felt connected to lead character, Hope, from the beginning. It’s been fun to read about a fellow blogger, even if we do blog about different things.
This is perhaps my favorite book in the Food Blogger Mysteries so far. I’ve enjoyed watching, author Debra Sennefelder, flesh out and grow her cast of characters. Characters I both love, and love to not like. They are layered with wonderful, and not so perfect layers. She truly is a gifted writer.
Sennefelder’s gift of writing doesn’t stop at creating rich characters. She uses it to superbly pen mysteries that keep the reader both intrigued and engaged. That talent is doubled in, THE CORPSE WHO KNEW TO MUCH, which features murder both past and present.
Trying to follow along with everything that was going on in this story, both delighted me and made my head spin (in a good way). Seriously, for as many cozy mysteries as I have read, it’s rare for me to figure out whodunit. But with author Sennefelder at the helm, I didn’t even stand a fair chance. She has a way of sidetracking me every time I think I’m on to something. I’d get all excited because I just knew I had it all worked out, and she would pull the rug out from under me. LOL Well done, Debra. Brava!

I don’t like summer), getting to read a cozy set during Halloween returned me to cool autumn days, and the promise of frost. But, onto the review.
Author Laura Childs is cozy mystery royalty. All of her series are followed by adoring readers who just can’t get enough of her remarkable prose. HAUNTED HIBCUS is the perfect example of why.
This 22nd installment to Laura Childs’ Teashop Mysteries held me enthralled. From the excitement of a Halloween party, the heartbreakingly tragic death of a young women filled with promise of a wonderful life to come, and a killer who just plain torked me off until the satisfying reveal, HAUNTED HIBSCUS was a one sitting read for me. I simply couldn’t put it down.

Who is the killer and what is he/she hiding that it’s worth killing for? The author doesn’t make it easy for us to guess.
