Listen here, by the middle of the prologue, I knew Sidelined was going to wreck my heart in the best way possible. By the end of the prologue, I knew Sidelined would be one of my favorite reads of 2022.
And then I got to Ander's POV, and I thought to myself, "All right, Becca, way to just write one of my favorite friends to lovers romances of all time."
Simply put, I am obsessed with Ander and Elliot. Friends to lovers (especially when mixed with unrequited love) is one of my absolute favorite tropes, and Becca Steele delivered in every single way. The tension. The angst. It was absolutely a brilliant twist (no spoilers, I promise, it's in the blurb!) to have Ander want to explore his sexuality...with anyone but Elliot. Overall, Sidelined takes on a very light rhythm which allows the reader to just fall head over heels in love with the MMCs, but in this one thread, Steele holds no punches when it comes to displaying Elliot's pain in being overlooked by the person who matters most to him.
I cried. I had to put down my kindle just to give my heart a rest. And then I dug back in because Ander and Elliot were just so addicting that I needed to keep reading.
I absolutely loved Sidelined and I haven't stopped thinking of Ander and Elliot since I hit The End. I'm already hoping that we'll see more of these two in future LSU books. Becca, please don't make me beg for more of them.
I wished. But I knew that wishes were for fools....more

As soon as A Deal with The Devil hit myCan Elizabeth O'Roark do no wrong? A Deal with the Devil is a MUST read for fans of enemies-to-lovers romances!
As soon as A Deal with The Devil hit my kindle, I threw everything else aside to jump right in--and I was hooked from the very first chapter. The rapid-fire banter. The underlying chemistry that practically trembled on every page that Tali and Hayes were together. The themes of all-consuming love and trust and hope. This book is so much more than a romantic comedy and, yet, it remains such a bright spot of hilarity from beginning to end.
Tali and Hayes owned me, body and soul. (Read the book to get the Pride & Prejudice reference that had me gasping for air! And cackling. So, so much cackling). I was bewitched, and I already know that I'll be hounding Elizabeth for the next book in the series. A Deal with the Devil is a Top 2021 read for me!

Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills delivers a smart and sexy contemporary romance about a smoking-hot professional football player and the small-town girl he can’t resist.
We start off with a lie on Valentine’s Day.
My blind date isn’t the studious guy I expected: he’s a drop-dead gorgeous player. Somehow we end up at his penthouse. I blame the gin and tonic.
The next day I learn he’s Jack Hawke—bad-boy professional quarterback with a murky past. The NDA he has me sign should be a warning that he isn’t a regular person. Please. I signed it Juliet Capulet, so goodbye, famous football player with abs of steel, and good luck tracking down this small-town librarian.
But Jack keeps showing up in places I least expect him. Just when I’m sure he’s gone, he waltzes into my community theater and wins the part of Romeo to my Juliet. How’s a plain, mostly innocent girl like me supposed to resist a man like him?
Is Jack my real Romeo or will this gorgeous football player only break my heart?

I started reading this at what was probably the wrong time (I had work to do) because NOTHING else got done as soon as I started. I swooned. I cried. I cheered. I got all hot and bothered.
There are SO many one-liners in this book that had me re-reading over and over again, and that first kiss scene? Oh. My. God.
This book was everything I wanted it to be and more, and I'm totally obsessed!

Make Me Hate You is a brother's best friend summer romance that will have you on the edge of your seat. It's riddled with gripping, angsty, heart-clutching feels and a story you'll never forget. Are you ready for the ride?

Yesterday, I asked my reader group what books they're loving and someone (aka my girl Elizabeth O'Roark) recommended Beach Read.
The cover was wicked cute. The blurb had me LOL'ing because you BET I can relate (a romance author heroine who is struggling with writer's block?) but then. BUT THEN. The hero is a grumpy literary fiction author who she discovers is living next door to her. AND they were enemies back in undergrad.
To say I loved this book is an understatement. I started it bright and early this morning (like 7am) and just hit the end a few minutes ago.
It's the sort of romance that leaves you alternatively laughing hysterically and sighing with happiness, and the CHEMISTRY. There are under-the-table knee touches! And one of the funniest moments at a carnival! And the first KISS!!!! *still swooning*
But it wasn't all laughter and rainbows -- there was the perfect amount of angst that had my chest tightening and me promptly turning my phone on Airplane mode so I wouldn't be disturbed.
My point is, I loved this with my whole heart....more
Or rather, Elizabeth broke my heart a million times over in this book and then sewed it back together so well that I sobbed.
Yes,My. Heart. Is. Broken.
Or rather, Elizabeth broke my heart a million times over in this book and then sewed it back together so well that I sobbed.
Yes, you read that right. I started Across Eternity last night at 9:30pm. I finished at 4am on the dot. And while my fiancee was snoring beside me, I was bawling my eyes out like a newborn baby.
This book, y'all. This book.
It's perfection. It's raw. It's gut-wrenching and uplifting and full of hope and love with a sprinkle of WTF-ery. Because HOW Elizabeth spun this plot is beyond my wildest imagination.
There comes a time when an author reads a book, they enjoy it, and then they walk away. And then there's this book which left me feeling inadequate as a storyteller. A sham author of words. Because, holy cow, Elizabeth slayed Henri & Sarah's love story in such a way that, hours later--and after a good six hours' worth of sleep--I am still in 1941, still back in France, still praying and hoping with everything that I am that Henri & Sarah will get their HEA.
If there is nothing else you read this month, this year, it needs to be this duet. Last year, Elizabeth stole my Top 3 spots for my Top 10 reads, and Across Eternity is no different.
I am in love. I'm addicted. I'm riding the high from this book, like an addiction I have no hope of quitting. Across Eternity is my favorite read of 2020. Big steps to fill when we're still in March, but there you have it.

>> I am so excited to be bringing you The Broken Crown Trilogy! This series popped into my head almost two years ago when I should have - admittedly - been writing a different book. But I was gripped by Road To Fire's grittiness and its shocking reveals. This royal romance is not the norm. It's not what many of you might expect from me as a storyteller. But Saxon Priest and Isla Quinn would have it no other way, and I can't wait to share them with you.

"No one's ever threatened to kill me before."
He turns toward the room just past the kitchen, which I assume is his. "With the mouth on you," he says, "I find that very surprising."
Parallel and Intersect are two of my favorite books of 2019. I shouted my love from the rooftops, foisted the duet on all my friends, regardless if they read romance or not.
I truly thought nothing could top Nick and Quinn.
And then Elizabeth O'Roark brought us Across Time. I won't give spoilers (of which there are MANY twists and turns in this one) but I will say this: O'Roark has outdone herself with Henri and Amelie. From the prologue, my heart was in my throat--and by the time I reached the last page, my emotions had taken a turn on every emotional rollercoaster available. I swooned, I laughed out loud, I clutched my kindle like it was my only chance of survival. I breathed these characters in a way that bordered on an obsessive need to see where they ended up while simultaneously wishing their story could last forever.
Across Time is a story that grips you and won't let go. Prepare to get addicted. Prepare to fall in love. But, most of all, prepare to sink your teeth into a book that will leave you gasping for more.
Across Time is my Top Read of 2019, hands down, no questions asked. I'm obsessed, and Elizabeth, if you read this, just know that you slayed this story in every single way. I wish I could stay with Henri & Amelie forever....more
