“I have a new identity, one I don't want, I just want to go home, to see my sister, to live my life, but I can't. It's all gone. Everyone I ever cared about believes I'm dead.”
This is the second book in the Wrong series and it picks up right where Wrong #1 left off.
We know that Joe has Tor and he is using her as leverage to get to Jude.
“He Fucking Has Her.”
What happen to Tor while she was with Joe broke my heart... It made me ANGRY and it made me CRY!!! Cry a lot, and really hard!!!
If you thought you knew Jude, Tor or Caleb from Wrong, well you were WRONG!!! This is a new Jude and this is a new Tor. And Caleb is Caleb, but that is how we like him!
Jude does everything he can to get Tor back. He shows a side of himself that we did not see in book one, and call me crazy but I liked it.
Once he gets to Tor, she is broken. It may seem as after what she went through in Wrong, that would not be possible, but it is. She has been stripped down to the bare minimum mentally, and she is now a woman on a mission. "He's still my beautiful tragedy, my knight in blooded armour."
Tor is glad to be back with Jude because that is where she is suppose to be, but she is not the same Tor that arrived there. She has been forever changed, and she is now a woman who demands to have her pound of flesh. She is also a woman hiding a secret from the one person who she loves the most.
“I'm no longer the innocent girl he craved so badly. I'm darker than he is. Tainted beyond measure. Everything that happened to me has changed me. I can feel it, like a snake coiled around my neck, this numbness beckoning me into its dark depths, and I embrace it. I welcome it because it means I don't have to feel, and that allows me to survive.”
This book BROKE my heart!!! I mean seriously broke my heart…
[image] I cried, and cried and then I got angry, and I cried some more. By the end, just when I thought I was cried out, I cried some more.
[image] I felt bad for everyone involved. There was a point where I honestly believed that the book could not get any worse and that this was going to go down as one of those books that you read, but you will never read again.
The last 20% of the book was HARD to read!!! I wanted to scream at everyone involved!!! I could not understand for the life of me why everyone was against Tor and Jude being together. Realistically, how was she going to walk away from what had happened to her and integrate back into "normal" society? Her sister, was an absolute BITCH!!!
On the upside, Marney became a favorite character of mine. He was the calm and steady hand that we all need in our life, even when we do not realize it. He was the one person who knew everything, and he did not judge or condemn and when Jude could not be there, he was willing to step up and take his place. He never had an ulterior motive, and he seemed to be happy to simply be part of the family.
(view spoiler)[When they walked through the house in the Caribbean and then the onesie scene, made me fall in love with him!!! (hide spoiler)]
Maybe I believe that love in the worse of circumstances can work or maybe I am simply a sucker for HEA… Either way, my hope for Jude and Tor was to be happy and to make it out of this horrible life and live the good life…
4.5 Sometimes the WRONG choices take us to the right places STARS
Victoria, Tor, Ria is a girl who has everything going for her. She is on the p4.5 Sometimes the WRONG choices take us to the right places STARS
Victoria, Tor, Ria is a girl who has everything going for her. She is on the path to reaching her career goals and she has a boyfriend that she adores. She is a Brit who is now living her idea of the American dream. Then one day, all that changes.
Jude or JP, has never answered to anyone… Not since his mother was killed and his father died. This is not the life he wanted for himself, but he can not let the family down. Not to mention, he is good at what he does. Even if he lives a life of questionable morals, he has lines drawn that he will not cross, until one day when one of his flunkies crosses it for him…
"Your boyfriend owes me money, princess." "How much money?""Twenty grand." "Twenty grand!" I shriek. "What the hell? No wonder you have the hulk after you," I moan. My boyfriend is a lowlife with a gambling problem "Take her!" Euan grabs me by the shoulders and shoves me towards the scary man. "Take Ria as security. I'll bring you the money."
“So you took a human as collateral?”
Jude and Victoria’s lives collide in a way that neither of them could have predicted. From two different sides of the track and the world, these two could not possibly have anything in common. She is well educated and he is a bookie. He takes lives for a living and she saves lives for a living. He is a college drop out and she is a medical student. As predicted, these two do not hit it off. In fact, at one point Jude believes that Victoria is there to spy on him and his operation and then things get real ugly...
After he discovers she really is just an innocent girl, who has been thrown into this horrible situation, his eyes and even his heat open up to her.
"I know she’s in pain. I’ve never felt remorse like this for hurting someone, and I’m finding the guilt slamming its way over me right now to be fucking unbearable. This right here has fucked me in a way I’ve never been fucked. She was good and pure. She was everything I’m not. I took that innocence from her. This girl makes me have a fucking soul, and I can’t have that."
This book made me think… I made me think is Stockholm Syndrome really a thing? Or maybe, we can not imagine falling for our captors, because we have never been captured. Jude was not what everyone thought he was, in fact he was someone who had wanted more, but had a family obligation to fufill. Who hasn't felt that way? And when its only you and someone else in a room, having to lean on one another for support and trust, who says that you can not “fall” for them…
”This is fucking wrong,” I groan against her lips as I yank her sweatpants off. “Everything with you is wrong,” she says, her nails scratching down my neck to my shoulders. Fuck me!
I adored Caleb from the moment we met him. He reminds me of the glimmer of hope or the silver lining to every cloud. You could tell he was not cut out for this life, but again, because he loved his brother and his family, he stuck around. I hope he makes it out before all the bad gets to him and breaks him.
I kinda saw the ending coming. I mean, Jude had to know that Joe was coming for him or Tor or both eventually… But I will admit, it broke my heart…. [image]
Emily and Paul are together and they are trying to make things work for good. But like any other relationship, theirs is complicated and they both have things that they need to get over in order to move forward.
Emily is battling with whether or not she can truly trust Paul to be faithful to her for FOREVER when she has seen how love can end and how it can hurt her in the end. Also she is trying to find enough confidence in herself to be the submissive that Paul needs, and will his Dom side be satisfied.
Paul is done with one night stands and screwing submissives at the local club, and he knows that he has found his life partner, his submissive and the LOVE of his LIFE in Emily. Now he has to convince Emily that he is ready and that he is committed to her and to their relationship.
There is a near death experience that allows Paul to see past himself, and ultimately he is able to give Emily exactly what she needs to prove that he is truly ready for the full monty and commitment to her.
This book was filled with HOTTT, HOTTT SEX , and the story itself outside of the sex is one that I really enjoyed. Seeing Paul and Emily’s relationship grow, was great. You could feel the chemistry coming off the pages. Also, the dual POV was executed very well, and getting an intimate look into the mind of a Dom was really intriguing.
I also enjoyed the side characters especially Reggie and his mother, and their background story. OOO and our favorite Dom/teacher/French lover, Andre Chevalier makes a return and he is DELIGHTFUL. His relationships with Paul as well as Emily are very interesting and his older, wiser wisdom for them both was a lot of great insight.
Nikki Sex is definitely one of my favorite BDSM authors, and I will always read any books that she writes. I recommend that you read Fate prior to reading Kink so that you have a base line for the relationship between Paul and Emily as well as who Andre is and why their relationship has come to the point that it is in Kink.
Okay, Aly Martinez has done something that I did not believe could be done….
She made me not only feel bad for, but LOVE Sarah Erickson.
This is the third book in the Wrecked and Ruined series and this is Sarah’s side of the story. Sarah has been a pivotal character in the order two books as she was Brett’s wife, Miranda’s best friend, Emily’s sister and possibly the driver the night that everyone’s world was changed forever. In book one, I loathed Sarah, and in book two I opened up to her but only after the truth had been revealed, and in this book I fell for her. I feel like Sarah was simply dealt a bad hand and luckily for her, she was able to shuffle the deck and get her life back in order and begin anew. The setting is 7 years after the accident and Sarah has finally gotten her head back on straight and she is beginning to get back out in the world, including the dating world. Leo is man with a past o his own, so how can he judge someone else’s especially when she is the tall and gorgeous blonde named Sarah Erickson. He starts falling for the Southern transplant but all but too soon realizes that the life and the past he left behind will not stay in the past forever. This story shows how two broken souls can come together and become one and how happiness as well as strength and love can blossom from such a union. It gives you a chance to see that true love sometimes is hard and that sometimes you have to be willing to fight as well as sacrifice but most importantly never give up.
The epilogue was PHENOMENAL and being able to all of your favorite characters and have far that have made it and all they have accomplished gives you a sort of closure and made me smile as I closed my Kindle for the night.
Now would I like to see some of the other characters get their own book or novella, YES!!! Where is Kara and Hunter and how are they fairing? What about Eli and Casey??? ...more

I admit, I had to play catch up in order to read this book in time, but I am so glad that I got to meet James and Karina. I am also glad that I didnt do all the waiting in between books. Like so many books that have come out in the wake of 50 Shades, this series has a billionaire playboy, who just happens to be an alpha, James, and his love interest, Karina.
Slow Satisfaction is the third book in the Struck by Lightning series, and it is the conclusion to James and Karina's romance. Will they be able to work through everything? Will this end on a HEA note???
In this book, Karina is calling the shots... Or at least at first, well at least until James is able to get her to forgive him. (The hot scene where she TOPS JAMES, was great. I love to see such a dominant man be able to give into the woman he loves.) She has returned from London to assist her mother who has just had an accident, and James is relentless in his pursuit to get her back and make her forgive him.
Now that James has gotten Karina back, they still have to deal with one major issue: Ferra, who will not let James out of his contract. She is a total BITCH!!! She does so much extra stuff to drive James and Karina apart, and to drive and make James' life harder. I was so glad to see this get resolved, even though I did not agree with how "gently" Ferra got off. With everything she had done, or set into motion, she deserved some jail time or a good lashing (well, she might have enjoyed that).
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and how this series concluded. I look forward to reading whatever else Ms Tan has in store for us. ...more

Have you ever wondered how you have gotten to that place? You know the place where your life is falling apart? Maybe its your career? Or maybe its your educational plans? Or maybe its your relationship?
Once you found yourself in that place, did you ever wonder how you were going to move beyond this place? Well maybe the first step in moving forward, is looking back… To go back into time and find out exactly what has led you to where you are today… That my friends is exactly what takes place in Love in Rewind…

When Emily was 18, she set out to conquer the world… Little did she know that what she would find is New York’s most eligible bachelor, Louis , and little does she know but after a whirl wind courtship and marriage, the only thing she will be conquering is the Upper East Side and playdates.
She has been married for 10 years and has the life that many would dream of, but now her relationship with her once amorous and “kinky” lover has come to a standstill. A complete halt… 95 days of nothing!!! And it has Emily wondering, how did she and Louis get here? How do they move on? Do they move on?
Emily takes us back to the beginning and with a little help from her friend, Sara, and 80’s big hair rock bands, we see the evolution of Emily and Louis’ relationship unfold right in front of us. It is a great experience and one heck of a ride!!!
This is a great story!!! I love that music was included in the book, because as a reader, I generally connect music with the stories I read or the characters, and this book did that for me!!! Also, I fell in love with Emily, because I think we all have been there… You know that place where you have to figure out exactly what it is you are doing and what you are going to do and how things might be different had you done something different, or had you been a different person….
I look forward to the next book, Audio Fools… ...more

Okay, so just like seeing sunlight after a dreary winter, Andrew Hamilton is back to light up our world in all his fucked up and asshole glory!!! Definitely worth the wait.
This is the second installment in the Reasonable Doubt series, and it lives up to the first. It is short but we learn so much about Andrew and why he is the way he is… And I admit, I really felt for him. (I must have a thing for alphas with issues.) We also learn more about Aubrey and her relationship with her parents. Then just when you think these two are making some head way in the right direction BOOM plot change… followed by a cliffhanger. There was plenty of sex crammed into these pages and it was just as HOTTT!!! I read this in one sitting, and now I am craving the third book!!!! So the wait begins!!! i hope that its not as long a wait as last time...

Reasonable Doubt Volume 1 is the first novella in a 3 part novella series where we meet Andrew Hamilton, who believes in meeting women on the internet, chatting them up for one week, having one dinner and one night of sex… then moving on. B) Can he move on from her?

This book was quick, fun and HOTT!!! Andrew dripped of sex and sarcasm, two things I LOVE!!! So be prepared ladies!!! Aubrey was sexy and sweet and had backbone!!! Another great character trait!!! OOO and wait, there’s more… There is even a plot!!! The cliffy at the end was a dousy, but the second volume is out 04/17/14, so hopefully we will get some answers!!!

Better is the story of Aubrey. Aubrey is twenty-four and she has just lost her aunt Ally to cancer. While Ally was battling cancer, Aubrey gave up everything to be there for her aunt. During that time she and Ally came up with a Better board, that had pictures of all the places Ally was going to go once she got Better….
Ally never got Better, but she left her Better board trip to Aubrey. Aubrey decides that for her aunt, she will go. Her parents decide that if their daughter is going to take a trip around the world, she needs some guidance, and that comes in the form of a grey eyed cutie named Adam. Adam is a free-lance photographer who loves to travel and if having a paid for trips means tolerating what he believes is a spoiled brat, so be it. At the time he agrees to go with Aubrey, he doesn’t know why Aubrey is taking the trip. Adam has secrets of his own and he is trying to work through the pain and regret he has over losing someone he loved as well. What Adam and Aubrey could never predict is just how traveling around the world will change them and how close it will bring them. When it is time to return home, neither of them is the same, and they know that they can not go back to things as they were before.

Better drew me in from the beginning and it broke my heart early on. I was not prepared to be this emotionally attached so early, but I h=guess that proves just how great of a writer Carey Heywood is. Even when I was not happy with Aubrey, I continued reading, hoping that it would get BETTER. I was super excited about the ending, and hope that maybe just maybe, a novella will follow with some updates on Adam and Aubrey (PRETTY PLEASE!!!!) ...more

Have you ever had a crush on a guy that was "out of your league"? Who everyone warns you is not who you think they are? Then you might just be in love with Evan Black.... Angelina Raines, Angie or some times Lina, or my personal favorite "dragonbait", is the only remaining daughter of a politician who is making a bid for VP in the next election and she has just lost her one and only true supporter, her uncle Jahn. Jahn, who is a professor and art coinsure, has also been a mentor to 3 of Chicago's most notorious businessmen and playboys, Evan, Tyler and Cole, the Three Dog Knights. With Jahn gone, they step up to the plate to help Lina through this... Except, Lina wants a lot more from Evan than simple moral support. Evan is a bad boy. Gorgeous. Igmatic. Secretive. All the things that a woman wants and Lina wants to be the woman who has Evan all to herself. She also believes that Evan wants her as well. Evan has not had it easy, but that will not stop him from succeeding and protecting those close to him. It was Evan's willingness to protect Lina and his family that made me fall for him. "Too many secrets will destroy a relationship.... "I don't have any secrets...." Maybe not. Be he does. His own and those he holds for others."
You discover that Lina is dealing with "survivor's grief" after being what she believes is the reason her older sister was murdered years before and she is attempting to be the daughter that her parents want, since she is all they have left, but with Evan, she gets to be herself and she begins to see that maybe she is enough. Evan makes Lina better in more ways than one. Overall, I really liked this book and I will read the next in the series. I did see many similarities from other books that I have read, and it does make you wish for a little more creativity from the author, but again, overall, it was a really good book. The sex scenes were hot and steamy and the plot twists were definitely not what I was expecting. This is also the third book I have read with a FBI agent who can not take no for an answer and is a real jerk. Job Well Done J. Kenner

Of course I had to read this book, this book comes from the author who gave me my favorite Viking and one of my favorite characters and storyline, Lucien Knight. So when I ahd the chance to read something by her that was not about my bleoved, I jumped on it. This story is about Ruby and Ford, who are friends from university who ahve not seen each other in years and they are reconnecting on the eve of two mutual friends wedding. Ruby has been oinning for Ford and Ford has been pinning for Ruby.... After they shared one romantic kiss the night before Ford left England in search of what he thought would be his forever.... After seeing one another intially, both realize that the feelings they have for one another is not going anywhere, and they decide to act on it. Ruby will not regret it and neither will Ford. Just when Ruby thinks that nothing else can go wrong, Ford shows her that he can help make things right.
This was a nice, quick and hot read. My favorite scence is on page 27, when Ruby is tracing Ford's single star tattoo, and he tells her that it is there to remind him of where his home is. Very sweet words, and it was very touching, and lets you know that Ford has not forgotten Ruby through his travels, but he has actually taken her with him. ...more

Allure picks up where Arouse left off... Olivia is pregnant... Not planned, but its happening...
Dean is supportive, but he still has doubts and feels that its his fault that Olivia is pregnant and it is not planned... but he is prepared to make the best of it, and he is prepared to save his marriage. he doesn't want to Liv, and though the pregnancy was not what he was expecting, he is going to stand by her and be whatever she needs.
Just as things are beginning to go back to normal, Dean has a family emergency that calls him home to California, and though he is resistant, Olivia demands to be brought along and help see him through... Dean's family, doesn't like Olivia, they think she is not right for him,,, And they are still good friends with his ex-wife, Helen. Helen, does seem like the wicked witch of stepwives as I imagined..
While in California, personal tragedy strikes them, and Dean feels like once again, he has let Liv down, and the person who helps her, is the one person no one expects.
Dean is also dealing with matters that make cause him to lose his career... Maggie Hamilton comes back with a vendetta.
Olivia proves her strength in this book... She proves she is Dean's partner and all though she likes being saved, she is ready and willing to go to battle along with him as well as for him...
“Okay, professor.” She squeezes my hands and takes a deep breath. “Let’s get ready for defense. Pull up the drawbridge, boil the oil, station crossbows along the allure.”.... “The allure is a passage behind the parapet of a castle wall. Great for defense when the enemy is approaching. You know you’re safe on the allure.” She tucks her head beneath my chin, twining her hand with mine. “Like we’re safe with each other.” “No doubt about it, beauty.” I press my face against her sweet-smelling hair. “You’ll always be my allure.”
This book is told in dual POV, and it was interesting to go down memory lane with both Dean and Olivia, especially Dean and when he remembers falling in love with Olivia.
“You know I’m not much of a romantic.” He looks at me. “But that semester, even I had to admit it was more than just a coincidence.” “What was?” “The fact that I was studying the perfect harmony of the stars and planets at the exact same time I was falling in love with you.” I can only stare at him. I can’t even speak. Until this moment, I didn’t know it was possible to love my husband even more than I have for the past five years. I didn’t know this kind of love existed, the kind that can both make you whole and shatter you to pieces.
Again, this book deals with real marriage problems, and they don't simply go away. Dean is hurting and so is Olivia. The book ends on a somber note... I don't know where Ms. Lane is going to go next, but I have high hopes for these 2.
“I’ll be here, Dean, love of my life.” I tighten my hand around his. “I’ll be waiting for you.”
My only hang up about this novel, at times it felt very similar to Gabriel's rapture... but I guess, as a male professor, there are only so many things can get you in trouble....more
Christ, Liv, sometimes the way you look at me makes me feel like I can hang the fucking moon.” “Because I’ve always believed you can.”
This is the story of Dean and Olivia... They are a married couple who has been married for 3 years, but they have been together for 5 years. They have faced up hill battles and made it to the other side... Olivia sees dean as her knight and shining armor and what's more fitting of a title for a medieval professor.
Then one little scare turns there marriage on it head... And it makes Olivia begin to wonder about her marriage, herself and what she believes...
There were moments when I jut knew this book was not going in the direction I had hoped, but what I liked about this book, was that it felt "real". it wasn't this "we met eyes and were in love", no it was "we have a great relationship, one that we work hard for, and one that sometimes is not as great as we want it to be." Also, there issues were real... They are a young married couple dealing with life and trying to figure out where do we go next...
The End, well lets just say I am glad that I have book 2 on stand by...
