I admit, I had to play catch up in order to read this book in time, but I am so glad that I got to meet James and Karina. I am also glad that I didnt do all the waiting in between books. Like so many books that have come out in the wake of 50 Shades, this series has a billionaire playboy, who just happens to be an alpha, James, and his love interest, Karina.
Slow Satisfaction is the third book in the Struck by Lightning series, and it is the conclusion to James and Karina's romance. Will they be able to work through everything? Will this end on a HEA note???
In this book, Karina is calling the shots... Or at least at first, well at least until James is able to get her to forgive him. (The hot scene where she TOPS JAMES, was great. I love to see such a dominant man be able to give into the woman he loves.) She has returned from London to assist her mother who has just had an accident, and James is relentless in his pursuit to get her back and make her forgive him.
Now that James has gotten Karina back, they still have to deal with one major issue: Ferra, who will not let James out of his contract. She is a total BITCH!!! She does so much extra stuff to drive James and Karina apart, and to drive and make James' life harder. I was so glad to see this get resolved, even though I did not agree with how "gently" Ferra got off. With everything she had done, or set into motion, she deserved some jail time or a good lashing (well, she might have enjoyed that).
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and how this series concluded. I look forward to reading whatever else Ms Tan has in store for us. ...more
Originally, I rated this book 4.5 Stars, but since re-reading it and having some time to think about it, it is more like a 3.5-4.0 stars. L

Originally, I rated this book 4.5 Stars, but since re-reading it and having some time to think about it, it is more like a 3.5-4.0 stars. Let me explain, I LOVE Sylvia Day and I definitely love Eva and Gideon, I mean, I had the calendar marked and made sure I had the morning off just to read this book.... And I recommended the first 2 to everyone I knew... How was my love repaid? With the series going from Trilogy to Quintet... Okay, cool, more Gideon... Problem is, the first 2 books were written with the intention of only being a threesome and now this third book was written has being in a full blown fivesome (is that a word?) So there were inconsistencies and there was stuff presented that never came up in the first two... Such as Gideon's mom being at the hospital with Corrine's parents... Why? I thought Gideon didn't take Corrine home, he never went home, so why would his mom be there with her mom? Russian Mob??? Really?
Book 3 picks up where book 2 ends. Eva knows Gideon's secret and quite frankly she is not only okay with it, but she is relieved. Now, how to move forward... They want to be together and they are willing to do anything to be together, so much so that Gideon has bought an apartment in Eva's building and has set it up with some of her and some of him... "our place"
Gideon is still brooding and possessive and it is still so sexy. He is worried that Eva won't be able to see past what he has done, and when he realizes she is, he is ready for the next step. He wants their relationship to be public, and he wants Eva to be his.
I will admit, Gideon is still running to Corrine ever time she calls, and that is overly annoying, but we do get to meet her husband in this one.
Cary is still dating Trey and the model chick, Tatiana, who has lost all my respect..
Eva's mother is Eva's mother.
OOO and Brett, returns and he seems set on getting back in Eva's panties no matte what it takes... And Eva seems to send mixed signals to him. Which you know that I didn't like.
There is no cliffhanger, but there are several lose ends that make you want to read the next book at least to find out what happens...
