I was pissed on his behalf when Dante abandoned them for that foolish girl Simone. I was pissed for him in regards to Yelena. I wanted more for him. I wish he’d have made Yelena grovel more. But meh.
Yelena was actually not a complete lost cause…She was just naive at times, and dishonest. She got her shit together in the end.

I reread this book atleast once a month. It is the superior reverse grumpy sunshine to any other. This love story is like drinking a hot cup of tea, sinking into a warm bath, and eating your favorite food. It’s just *chefs kiss.* the resistance. The capitulation. The continuation in the next book.
There's not enough words for how I feel about this book. I am utterly shocked Giana wrote this in comparison to the Fallen Men series. It's just a different beast. The writing for this book is far superior.
This is probably my favourite mafia book of all time. Elena is so thorny and relatable. Dante.. damn.. the sweetness and his toughness. I cannot. This is everything. Elena's siblings are assholes....more
Um.... this book did not live up to it's Tik Tok glory. Which can be said for a lot of books I've come across from there.

The writing to me was meh. The world building was ok. The saving grace of this book was the chemistry between Aida and Callum and Aida's personality shining through.
I think if Tik Tok didn't over hype this book so much I would've been ok but I've read far far better.

Eve??? Honestly. She was so stupid, naïve and childish at times. Like… wtf do you think you’re going to be able to do for drug dealers and the situation at hand? You’re a writer…not a solider & not someone who has any real training. I swear…that’s a HUGE pet peeve of mine. You’re not qualified to be running in anywhere but don’t want to be left home. Eve was also SO self absorbed sometimes…we saw that with Anna and I’m glad Anna called her out on her shit.
Now…Dante was fine as fuxx. But…about as emotionally intelligent as a doorknob. His saving grace was Joseph. That man had sense. Dante was just…addicted to the puss and couldn’t think rationally after some time. Like he was so wishy washy and didn’t know how to communicate. He was growly, dominant and hated questions…but simultaneously liked how Eve always did what she wanted. I dunno man… all they liked to do was argue. This didn’t have as much good in it as it needed to balance the foolery.
