This story was very reminiscent of all of my favorite Sarah Dessen novels (which I read from 14-21 years old.)

This is a cute installment to an otherwise intense series. I enjoyed celebrating the Solstice with our favorite cast. I enjoyed seeing Feyre find her purpose. The ending was super

The first book was so good, but this one… this one was so much better. Mist and Fury was a rollercoaster of emotions, and it did not struggle to pull me in immediately. All of the main characters in this sequel are so loveable. This story is full of tension and action, it kept me turning the pages as fast as possible, hungry for more and more of Feyre and Rhys’ story. I loved it. I hope the books only get better from here! ...more

This was so hard to get through, but not because it wasn’t written well. Jennette endured so much at such a young age and all I could do was be thankful for the childhood I was allowed to have while reading.
I loved this book, but I wouldn’t read it again because it hurt way too much. I feel for Jennette so much, and wish her nothing but happiness with the rest of her life....more

This one honestly has the most going on, and it was a little hard to keep up with at some points, but I was HERE for every twist and turn Maureen Johnson threw my way!
The ONLY complaint I have (and why I deducted 1 Star point) is that this book ENDED on a cliff hanger!! It came out almost 10 years ago, so I gave very little hope she will be continuing the story… the ending set us up for an excellent fourth book ...more

This was the first novel I have read by Nina LaCour and I am In love! There are so many quotable, meaningful passages in this book, every chapter seemed to resonate more and more with me.
I will say- I think that Marin is so much stronger than she realizes or gives herself credit for and I found her character to be so inspiring.
The discussion questions at the back of the book were also super interesting and I look forward to thinking on the book more and answering them.

I guess let’s start with our main characters.
Ari Abrams: this character has so much depth and charm. She is so quirky and very much reminds me of myself. Sri struggles with depression, and her thoughts on her mental illness are the realest depiction of my own I have ever experienced in a piece of media. Ari’s relationship with her mother was not something I was expecting going into this book, but boy did it hit me in my feels. Her feelings toward her mother resonated with every fiber of my being, and I think seeing her resolve those issues in such a meaningful way truly healed some part of me.
Russell Barringer: let’s just start off strong with how much I loved the fact that we had a fat main male character! That nw we happens! Russell was truly so loveable. RLS wrote him in a way that had me in love with him in his first scene…(though I have always had a thing for bigger men ...more

This was the first book of Rachel Lynn Solomon’s that I have ever read and I WILL be reaching for more of her work on my next trip to the library!
I found it very easy to place myself in Barrett’s POV, which is always a plus for me! I found her to be very relatable and authentic… if not a wee bit neurotic (the best!)
It took me a few chapters to warm up to Miles, but I do believe that was the point… so BRAVO Rachel Lynn! By the end of the book *I* was in love with Miles!
Literally my only gripe with this book is how LONG some of the chapters were, but that’s more of a personal attention span issue! ...more

Overall, this is a GREAT book with a great story, believable characters, and a beautiful winter setting. If you are a fan of messy comedies you will absolutely enjoy this novel.
I found Ellie to be SO relatable and it was very easy to place myself in her POV. If you suffer from anxiety like I do, I think you will find that the author captures those feelings perfectly.

I let “The Name of the Star” sit on my shelf for entirely too long because the cover had me convinced that it was NOT my type of read…
However, one must NEVER doubt Maureen Johnson! This book still delivers that classic “independent, badass girl” theme that MJ is known for. Not to mention how talented she is at really putting you *IN* the locations she writes about!
This is not my favorite book of hers, it certainly was a bit slow moving at times, but never so much so that I wanted to stop reading.
I will be completing the series definitely, but I do not have the urgency to pick up book #2 immediately. Overall, this is a GOOD book and certainly will make a good series, but if you’re choosing between this and other MJ novels… read the others first! “13 Little Blue Envelopes” remains my favorite! ...more
