Overall: 3.25-stars
My main problem with this book: (view spoiler)[the Heroine says she doesn't want to have kids, and the Hero is fine with that; they exchange ILYs. Low and behold, a few days later, a boy is dropped off at the Hero's house, and he's told by the boy's uncle that the Hero is the kid's dad. In reality, the Hero looked out for the kid's mom, who was a sex worker, before he went undercover.
To be clear: the Hero is not the kid's dad and hasn't seen the kid's mom in over a decade.
The Hero then decides he wants to adopt the kid. Which unintentionally pushes the Heroine away because she does not want kids.
Of course, this whole situation is contrived to make the Heroine realize that her lack of desire for kids is really just her grief talking. (hide spoiler)]...more
