I love romance and suspense, and for me Gifts has the right mixture. I love Asa. Above all he’s a good father who’s making a life for himself and his teenagers. He’s also a bit older and knows what he wants and takes care of the people he loves. Poor Keelie, her husband’s actions had a huge impact on her life, so I understand her hesitation towards Asa. They just belong together. An important part of a Brynne Asher book is the ‘villain’, and I had my suspicions as I do every time, but I was wrong! (well, partial). I didn’t see it coming. Bravo Ms. Asher!

I love Calla and Ash, they’re good people who deserve to be loved. Both didn’t have the most normal childhood, but they both came out well. I love how they are with each other. Since they’ve been to the same school and had the same friends their friendship rekindles easily, but the love thing is a whole different story. They don’t want to fall in love, but of course they fail epically (in a very good way).
Like other books by Loriana Cappello, Strings Attached is about real people with feelings, insecurities and thoughts. In this book the characters are much younger then I am. My college days are long over (yippee), but I don’t mind reading about a couple in their early twenties. It reminds me of young love and a world of opportunities. Strings Attached is a sweet story with a wee bit of angst, but you know without a doubt the couple will end up together.

I’m very happy to say that Montana Wild, Kira Berger’s second book, ticks all the right boxes for me. I love Montana en Kade, and their sometimes frustrating story.
After a serious accident, Montana’s life is changing. Not only does she have to recover physically herself, but her horse Whiskey needs some healing as well. Enter an estranged father and a beautiful ranch in Montana. For Montana it isn’t an easy choice to move there, but she knows what she has to do to keep her Olympic dream alive. Having been hurt before, Montana is weary when it comes to love. Falling in love while on her father’s ranch is not on her agenda, but Kade is kind of irresistible.
Montana, Montana… Poor girl, I so want to hug her. To the outside world she’s a reckless party girl, always looking for trouble. But that’s what other people make of her. The real Montana is a hurt young woman, very damaged by her past. She has learned the hard way people can’t be trusted, even the people who are supposed to love you unconditionally. As I already said, Montana Wild is the second book by Kira Berger and I just love it. A great leading lady, check. Handsome hero, check. Stubborn, strangle-worthy characters, check. A mean villain, check. The author uses some clichés, but in this story they work. Both Montana and Kade have a history, and that makes them react a certain way. And truth to be told, without some drama the story would have been way to sweet. Montana and Kade act and react like real-life people. I love them and their story.

When Shelby starts working for him, she’s a breath of fresh air. Shelby is recovering from a bad break up, and in no mood for romance. Working for Liam (and taking care of him) is just what she needs. Liam and Shelby become close friends, until they start to see each other in a different way.
I just love Liam. Yes, he’s a famous guy with loads of money, but he’s still a sweet, normal guy. I love that he’s not bragging about conquests and all, he’s done with those things. I love how he is with Shelby; you see him falling in love, but he doesn’t want to see it. It’s cute. Shelby is a sweetheart who deserves a real guy to love her, to fight for her. Liam doesn’t show up at the right time, but he’s just irresistible. I love them for each other.
Like a lot of other books by Melanie Moreland, Changing Roles is mostly told from the guy’s POV, in this case Liam’s. We get some chapters from Shelby’s POV, but we’re inside Liam’s head the most. The story of Liam and Shelby is a standalone, but there are a few openings for other books. Changing Roles is a sweet story with a wee bit of drama (otherwise it would be to much sugar and sexy rainbows), something I love after having read some darker books. I need more books like this, with a sweet leading couple who deserve all the love in the world.

Her last relationship didn’t end very well, so she doesn’t have any desire for a new guy in her life. Escaping Logan however, seems to be impossible. Logan is a newly single guy, who had his own bad experience. He’s not looking for something permanent, but he can’t forget Emma. The couple has great chemistry, but giving into their feelings takes some time.
Emma and Logan are both adults who have loved before and know (kind of) what they want from life. They also know that a real relationship needs more than just great sex and sweet talks, it needs commitment. And that’s something they’re both a bit afraid of. Especially since Logan is only in town for three months… Emma and Logan are a great couple who both deserve happiness, but their love doesn’t come easy. Well, love comes easy, but the Happily Ever After takes some serious work.
S.O.S. is the third book in the ‘Doctor Drama Series’, and I have enjoyed reading it. It’s a sweet and sexy story about two doctors who can’t resist each other. I love how they are together, and how close they are with their family and friends. That was also the only thing that confused me a bit at times; there are so many friends and family members, I was mixing up their names. But overall, S.O.S. is a great read, with sweet, sexy and serious moments and an amazing couple.

She loves being around her people, but when it comes to interacting with ‘strangers’, Sabrina can be a bit awkward. Wyatt on the other hand is a confident guy who knows what he wants. He’s a single dad to his two girls, who are his everything. Falling for each other isn’t planned, but Sabrina and Wyatt can’t stay away from each other.
Oh oh Sabrina, I just love her. She wants to fit in so badly, but you just feel her uneasiness about the whole dating stuff. She is second-guessing everything; from what Wyatt might think, to her own feelings and actions. Sometimes I just want to hug her and tell her all will be fine. Wyatt is a great guy; he’s a good dad for his girls, taking care of them by himself. And he’s just perfect for Sabrina. He brings out the best in her, and she brings out the best in him. I love them as a couple.
Crime and Periodicals is my very first read by Nora Everly, and I just love it. It’s a story about a sweet couple who deserve finding The One. Besides the romance between Sabrina and Wyatt, there’s a lot more going on. Both have family-members; some are sweet and friendly, while others cause a lot of trouble. It’s a great mix that keeps the reader turning the pages; you just want to know what happens next.
I love Crime and Periodicals, I give the story of Sabrina and Wyatt 4.5 stars.

Marist has grown into her role as a player in the Hale game and Royce and Macalister are fighting for dominance over the Hale empire. I love the conclusion to the Trilogy.
Relationship-wise Marist and Royce are on the right path. They have feelings for each other, and slowly they get used to them. But slowly falling in love isn’t an option in the Hale family; there’s so much at stake, and you can’t be sure about who to trust or not. Marist might have been an innocent woman till a few months back, but her new life has shaped her quickly into a confident, sensual woman who knows what she wants. Sort of, because the Hale men can be oh so confusing with their poker faces and untold stories.
The Deception is the final part of the Trilogy, and like the other books its decedent, luscious and a bit filthy. While my inner dirty girl loves the ‘what could have happened’, my more sensible self is shaking her head. Some things go too far, but somehow, they are fitting to the story. I love how Marist keeps true to herself, even though at times she doesn’t know what to do. She and Royce are a formidable couple, I love them together (and how they played the game). And Macalister, I can’t help myself feeling sorry for him. Somehow, he deserved more.

Too Good at Goodbyes tells the emotional tale of Simone and Kane, who both are not unfamiliar with heartbreak. I just adore their story.
Simone seems to be living the life; she’s a celebrated popstar with large numbers of fans and more than enough money to spend. But her fame and money aren’t always positive; it brings out the worst in people and the gossip magazines love to make up stories. Her love life is a disaster, and that hurts a lot. All Simone wants is a partner in life, for the good and the bad times. Kane – a former Green Beret / nowadays security guy – is also no stranger to heartbreak; it makes him question everything. Simone and Kane are both hurting, and both are hesitant to open up their heart again.
Poor, poor Simone. I feel so sorry for her. She might be rich and famous, but all she wants is somebody to love her. The real her, not the popstar. I think she’s a brave woman, to let Kane in her heart, even though she’s not sure about his feelings. Kane is still coming to terms with his breakup with his ex-girlfriend. He didn’t see it coming and falling for the gorgeous Simone is not part of the plan as well. Simone and Kane are an amazing couple, but the road to their Happily Ever After isn’t the easiest one.
Too Good at Goodbyes is yet another great story by RC Boldt. I love Simone and Kane; they are both good people who deserve all the best in life. Their story is sweet, sexy, angst-y and everything in between, I just love everything about it. Besides our lovely couple, there are a bunch of great side-characters (some you might know from other books by this author). And if you’re a fan of a great ‘epilogue’, Too Good at Goodbyes has the best; just one big swoon!

When Naomi and Nathan first met, they were young and wild. Nowadays Nathan is still a bit wild (and a responsible dad), but Naomi is living a very quiet, solitary life. Her past has shaped her, making her think a relationship is not for her. In the past, Nathan hasn’t always made the right choices, but now he’s a responsible guy, raising his two girls by himself. Naomi and Nathan both know they have changed a lot over the years, but what hasn’t changed is the chemistry between them.
At first sight, Naomi seems to be a bit odd. A lonely librarian, practicing Wiccan and the center of some town gossip. But as the story progresses, and more about Naomi’s past is revealed, I felt so sorry for her. It also explains so much about her, about her thoughts and actions. Nathan is a single guy, but his main focus are his daughters. I love how Nathan doesn’t give up on Naomi, and that Naomi finally finds the happiness she so much deserves.
Love in Due Time is my first book by this author, and I’ve enjoyed reading it. It has a great leading couple, a whole set of interesting side characters, a bit of suspense, really a bit of everything. It took me a bit to get used to the writing, but once I ‘was in’, I couldn’t put the book down (yes, I finished it in one sitting). This is certainly not my last book by L.D. Dunbar, and I can’t wait for the other books in the series.

Olive and Jay can’t be more different; she’s a true city-girl, he’s a nature guy who loves the quiet surroundings of mountains and forests. Under normal circumstances Jay and Olive wouldn’t have met, but when Olive starts hiking the Appalachian Trail (AT) ‘by accident’, she and Jay cross paths. It’s not love at first sight, but there comes a moment they both realize they’ve found The One.
Olive is a sweetheart who doesn’t know what she truly wants. She goes with the flow, trying to please other people. I love how she takes back control of her life, and how she doesn’t give up. Hiking is not really her thing, but the new Olive wants to finish what she has started. Jay has his own issues. I love that for once the Hero of the story wasn’t the most popular guy in school, that he had (and still has) some insecurities. Olive and Jay are amazing individuals, and I love them as a couple.
Happy Trail is my very first book by Daisy Prescott, and I just love it. Olive and Jay are real people (with both an interesting background) who talk and act realistically. The author has written an attractive picture of the AT and everything involved, it makes me a bit curious (don’t worry, I won’t start hiking the AT with hubby!). This certainly isn’t my last book by this author!

Rian and Carlos are both members of the same gym; Weight Expectations. But where Carlos is ‘addicted’ to perfecting and maintaining his impressive body, Rian is kind of forced by her doctor to get her body healthier. Rian and Carlos have a very different outlook on life; from the food they eat, to training and to the people they date. But what begins as an easy friendship, slowly changes into something much more. And Carlos and Rian can’t escape it…
Weight Expectations is told from a double POV, giving an insight in the thoughts of Rian and Carlos. We get to see the couple getting to know each other (duh, it’s a romantic story!), but also what has shaped their believes about love and themselves. Although it’s a simple story – man and woman meet but try to keep it just friendly – the storytelling of the author holds your attention. Weight Expectations is an addicting written story with realistic characters you have to love (but sometimes want to shout at).
Rian and Carlos; they are so different, but I love them for each other. Love doesn’t care about ‘your usual choice’, it just happens when it happens, and you can’t do a thing about it. I love Rian, she finally realizes she deserves everything, that she doesn’t have to settle. At first, I wasn’t so sure about Carlos (you vain, shallow man), but when he got his act together… He’s kind of perfect (for Rian). What I love most about this story is that Rian keeps being herself. Yes, she gets a lot healthier, but she doesn’t turn into a size 6. She’s still a big, pretty woman, but she’s confident in her own skin and doesn’t care what other people think.

Cady and Rick are very different people. Both are confident in their own skin, but they each have a different outlook on life. Cady is enjoying her life to the fullest. Yes, she knows she’s a big girl, but she has embraced her curves. And divine tasting food… And avoiding everything that’s remotely connected to exercising… Rick’s life on the other hand is all about control; a strict fitness regime and only eating healthy, nutritious food. Yes, Cady and Rick can’t be more different, but they also can’t deny they’re attracted to each other.
Like other books by this author duo, Gym or Chocolate? is a relaxed story with characters who act and talk realistically (most of the times). No flowery phrases, no internal quoting of Shakespeare, just normal people speak. Although it’s basically a simple story – opposites fall far each other but try to fight it for a while – the unfolding story holds your attention throughout the book. The story is told through Cady and Rick’s eyes, giving an insight in both thoughts and emotions. I love how they both change, but also stay true to themselves.
Gym or Chocolate? is a funny, romantic comedy. Reading the story brought a big smile on my face and caused the occasional eyeroll (in a good way!). Yes, there is a bit of needed drama (a smooth ride into the sunset would be a wee bit boring, right?), but nothing over the top or dramatic. I love Cady and Rick together; they are a perfect couple and bring out the best in each other.

I love their sweet and realistic story.
Victoria seems to have it all; a job she loves and the support of her family and friends. But what most people don’t know is that she’s still recovering from the day that should have been the happiest of her life. Getting involved with a man again isn’t part of the plan, but she can’t help herself when it comes to Aiden. Aiden is a busy man; working long, odd hours as a doctor at an A&E department doesn’t leave much time for socializing. Not that he doesn’t want to find love, but he knows not many women would put up with his work schedule. The moment Aiden and Victoria meet there’s an instant connection, and both can’t ignore it.
Victoria and Aiden are both amazing people, but together they’re just swoon worthy. I love Victoria, she’s much stronger than she believes, and she has bravely rebuilt her life after ‘that day’. I get that Victoria is a bit skittish (I would be too), but sometimes I want to friendly shake some sense into her. Aiden is an awesome guy who knows what he wants. I love his ‘chase’ of Victoria, it’s so him. I love Aiden and Victoria for each other; I was so happy when they decided to give their love a chance.
The Vow We Made is already the third book by Loriana Cappello. And like her other books it’s about real people with realistic thoughts and actions. Because this is a romantic story there some clichés, but the author uses them at the right time. They don’t cause unnecessary drama for the sake of drama but feel naturally to the story. Besides a great leading couple there’s a set of interesting side characters, who are all supportive of our couple. I love The Vow We Made, and I can’t wait for future books by this author.

Almost Had You it about Mercer and Clover, who have grown up in the same town and think they know each other… I’ve enjoyed their story very much.
Clover is a true Southern girl who does as her parents tell her, even though she’s a grown-up lady. However, that doesn’t stop her from having dreams of her own, dreams about her future. Mercer is oh so different from what her parents want for her, and Clover just can’t stay away from him. Mercer is a Navy Seal and back home for a short vacation. It is supposed to be relaxed and fun, but he soon realizes Clover is a lot more then just fun. Feelings are everywhere, and Clover and Mercer decide to give their love a try.
Clover and Mercer are great people; both work hard and try to make a difference in the world. Clover seems like a good, obedient woman, but there’s a lot more to her. I love that she makes her own plans and doesn’t give into her parents demands. Mercer is a great guy too, and he deserves a break from all the horror he has seen. Clover and Mercer know each other since childhood, and it’s fun to see them reconnect as adults. And getting to know each other, because you have ‘knowing’ and ‘knowing’. I love Clover and Mercer; they really are a great match.
Almost Had You is part of the ‘Harbour Point SEAL Series’ and technically a standalone story. It’s about Mercer and Clover of course, but also very much about the ongoing war against terrorism. The parts about the war are dark, but Mercer and Clover storyline is light and sweet (with some drama, otherwise it would be too sweet). I have enjoyed Almost Had You very much, I can’t wait for the other books in the series.

Flynn and Isaac are happily in love, and very busy with their lives and jobs. Being a famous photographer and a model/actor means a lot of traveling, and sadly spending time apart. Add to that Isaac’s large family and the men have a lot on their plates. Not that they mind, they know it’s a part of who they are, but Isaac and Flynn hate being away from each other.
Isaac and Flynn are the same guys as before, but now they’re a solid, committed couple who don’t hide the love they have for each other. It isn’t always easy, but the guys both know they have found that one special person. I love Isaac and Flynn and the relationship they have; they are perfect for each other. And the ending? Just swoon…
Two is the 7th book in the ‘Love by Number Series’, and takes us readers back to Isaac and Flynn, and the Fox Family. The main story is obviously about the two guys in love, but there’s much more going on. Two makes me love Isaac and Flynn even more (is that possible?), but it also makes me oh so curious for Nate and his story. Please don’t leave us hanging for too long Mrs. Carter!

Cosy is a student / adult toy store employee who’s living her life. Spending all her time on her study and her sometimes bit awkward job doesn’t leave her with much time for anything else. Love and men are not on her radar, not that she doesn’t want a boyfriend, but Cosy has met a few too many not so nice guys. Griffin is a bit older than Cosy and is living the life of a guy with money and a good career. Cosy thinks Griffin is a bit too old, Griffin is not so sure about a 22-year-old… But staying away from each other is not possible.
Cosy is a sweetheart who doesn’t mind hard work and late hours studying. She has a good plan, and she’s going for it. I admire her drive; she’s doing it all on her own, with little help of others. Griffin is a distraction, but a very welcome one. Griffin is a successful guy, but his latest relationship ended badly. If I were him, I would be so angry, but Griffin is a mature guy. Not that he isn’t hurt, but he also knows he will find love again. Cosy and Griffin seem like an odd match, but they are a great couple. I love them for each other.
Making Up is already the fourth book in the ‘Shacking Up Series’, and I love it. Like the other books it has funny moments that make you giggle, but also touching and serious moments. The story has a great leading couple, and the characters from the previous and future books in the series make their appearance. There is a bit of drama in the book, but since this is a romantic book, you know love will conquer all. I can’t wait for the other books in the series!

Oh oh Liam, poor guy. In his dream he had a good life with Samantha, but when he wakes up all is very different. Yes, he and Samantha know each other very well, but they are just friends. He is a smart guy and knows what’s real and what’s not, but he can’t forget the feelings and details from his dream. I admire Liam’s strength; he doesn’t go after Samantha full force to make her truly his, instead he leaves her alone to let her make her own decisions. Samantha is in a hard place as well. She loves her fiancé, but secretly Liam has always been more then just a friend. I feel so sorry for her, choosing between two good men is heartbreaking. I love that Samantha finds her way to Liam; they are an amazing couple.
Just a Dream is Amanda Faye’s debut book, and I love it. It’s a sweet, simple story about two friends who turn out to be so much more then friends; they are soulmates. I love how the author has written the main couple; mature, realistic characters who think before they act. The story might be too sweet for some readers, but sometimes sweet is what I need after some dark, intense reads. Just a Dream is also the first book in the ‘Doctor Drama Series’, I can’t wait what the future books will bring.

I had so many questions and thoughts about what could happen next. Beth and Carter are both trying to move on, but both are hurting. I love this second part of their story, but I really need Beth and Carter to be happy, and together.
To the outside world Beth seems to be a happy woman; rich, good-looking and with a set future. But inside she’s oh so broken. She misses Carter and how he makes her feel, and she can’t make her own choices anymore. Well, she can, but making a different choice has consequences she can’t face. Carter isn’t the happiest either. He thinks a lot about Beth, and he’s trying to find out the truth about his own past. In each other, Beth and Carter find the peace and love they so much need, but sadly it’s not the time for their Happily Ever After yet.
My heart breaks for Carter and Beth. The love between them is so real, but circumstances keep getting between them. And I’m not talking about easily solved issues. Beth and Carter have a lot of personal matters to deal with; hidden pasts, untold truths and evil relatives. Every time you think it can’t get worse; another horrible curve ball is thrown at them. Dylan Allen is so kind to remind us about the Prologue of Between Now and Forever in her Afterword of this book, so you know all will be okay. But still, Beth and Carter have to face a lot before they can be truly together.
I love Between Now and Heartbreak, with all its angst and hurt. I give it 5 stars.
