Very well written and I could feel the fear as the prisoners where lined up in front of the trenches waiting to die. The many people who died in the gas chambers, the starvation and the fear that they all endured. Everyone should read stories like this in the hope that history does not repeat itself. I decided to indulge myself and listen to this audiobook instead of lying awake tossing and turning throughout the night. As I listened last night my face was wet with my tears,it was such a powerful story. It made me realise how lucky we all are and any problems I thought I had where totally insignificant.
This is the story of 14 year old Elezer and his family who where sent to the Nazi Germany's death camps, not many lived to tell the tale of Buchenwald and Auschwitz. It is a testament of the cruelty and starvation that was endured with many sent to the crematory. A story that needs to be read of the Holocaust and never forgotten in the hope that one day there will be peace and love in the world. A thought provoking life story of one man's will to survive the horrors of war lest we forget. Highly recommended....more
