There’s no denying that their romance can’t be felt through the pages. Their love knows no bound. Distance, separation, heartbreak and life played a factor into their love affair but what I love is their love is undying. That’s the kind of romance that gets to me. It hits me right in my soul.
I love that this book gives a reader a glance at Ethan and Cassie’s past. I thought it was a neat piece of writing on Leisa’s part to draw parallels of their past and present. It helped me as a reader to have a better understanding of their relationship past and present.
I thought both Cassie and Ethan were well developed characters and very much likeable at that. They had their flaws but they were the perfect match for each other. She’s innocent and naive but doesn’t give off the annoying vibe. I love that she’s bold and direct. She isn’t one to shy away and go hide. I like that she challenges Ethan and goes after what she wants. Ethan on the other hand was every bit a mystery to me. He was intense and had a short fuse. When he was opened with Cassie about his feelings, I couldn’t help but feel the flutters in my chest. He’s charming without even trying. I love the past Ethan but the present Ethan I fell head over heels in love with. To see him so open and vulnerable was exactly what I was hoping for. Ethan and Cassie’s romance gave me all the feels. I caught myself craving for more as this book draws to a close.
I’m really looking forward to Broken Juliet as Bad Romeo ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and I feel like there’s so much more I still needed to know. I promise you will love it as much as I do if not more than I do. ...more

I was right there After reading this book, my emotions were all over the place. This book is so good! The angst had my heart beating out of my chest. I was right there in the moment. Then it took two days for me to gather my thoughts before I can write an honest review.
Clipped Wings is a well written love story about two damaged individuals. I found it to be an emotional read for me. Hayden and Tenley were both complex characters that you draws you in. They each bring with them their own serious set of baggage. I felt connected to them individually.
I think we all at one point or another have loss loved ones and have experience the loss of losing someone close to us. The pain and the heartache that you carried with you can last a lifetime. For Tenley and Hayden, they each have lost people they love. Tenley appears weak at times throughout the book but I have to remind myself that she's actually doing quite well considering the tragedy she endured. Hayden, I found him to be a bit of a mystery at first but as the story unfolded and his past is revealed, I started to understand the armor that he wore. I did feel a little bit frustrated with both characters as each wanted to fix the other without being fixed themselves.
I love that this book focuses on tattoos. I've always thought that tattoos were just a form of body art. Being the tattoo virgin that I am, I never thought about the significant meaning behind each one. Hayden and Tenley's story has opened up my eyes to all things tattoos and the story behind each one.
The ending has a slight cliffhanger but rest assured, if you're like me and have just found Clipped Wings, the second book, Inked Armor is out. And I'm ready to read the second book. Helena Hunting has me emotionally invested in Hayden and Tenley's story and I must know the conclusion to their story.
