Part autobiography, part travel journal, part diary of a woman finding her essence through the joyful gathering and preparation of food. But not just food for sustenance; food for the senses, food for the celebration of life, food for the soul. While reading this book, I've laughed out loud, made a dash for Central Market to buy and try something exotic and sustaining, and wished fervently that I could meet Gabrielle as a new friend over dinner and a beautiful bottle of wine. If she ever offered seminars for other reluctant chefs, I'd be there in a heartbeat! I loved this book!...more
