I absolutely LOVED it. I loved every second. I was hooked from start to finish, I loved both MCs, the town was so cute. it had all of the fall vibes that I could ever want packed into this adorable little package. I *highly* recommend this, it comes out in a few days and if any of you are looking for a spooky (not scary) rom com with a witch and her new familiar who's actually a trapped demon - you're looking in the right place....more
if you like Emelle in Raven Kennedy's Signs of Cupidity series or Delta from the Hellgate Guardians books, you'll love ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ i really enjoyed this!
if you like Emelle in Raven Kennedy's Signs of Cupidity series or Delta from the Hellgate Guardians books, you'll love Nikki! she's obsessed with Disney and there a bunch of fun references, she's also got the coolest shifter animal (which, when it was revealed I was not expecting tbh). I also really liked the guys! I did feel like some of the chemistry/relationship between Nikki and a couple of the guys felt a little forced/unnatural, but overall I liked the group dynamic.
the story was really interesting too. there are a group of people that volunteer to compete in these trials that, if completed, can put them on the ballet to be elected and become the new leader of this territory. I heard supernatural trials (and reverse harem) and I was like, say less. I LOVE reading about competitions and this one did not disappoint.
overall: I liked this. the reveals at the end had my jaw dropping and I definitely didn't predict some of the twists. I liked the writing, the characters and the pacing felt good. I also thought the magic system was kinda cool, if not just a little confusing. but overall, like I said, I enjoyed it :)...more
as always: I loved it. Layla Fae is one of my faves for a reason. I loved the parallel between Hyde and Poppy's thoughts when they met each other, how as always: I loved it. Layla Fae is one of my faves for a reason. I loved the parallel between Hyde and Poppy's thoughts when they met each other, how they thought the other was too perfect so they tried to intentionally find flaws. I think Gorgo is my favorite out of this trio, you all know I love a good he falls first - especially when they fall *hard* and become obsessed. he's literally a "mean to everyone but her* monster and I loved it. I wished we had gotten to explore the school a little more in detail, but I did really enjoy what we got. the library was super cool (obviously) and I loved how the school had a mind of its own. the fact that it could just make rooms and you just had to think of a destination and walk and you'd end up where you need to be was interesting too. I finished this in less than a day, I was hooked from the first page and I literally couldn't put it down. I thought the writing and pacing was good, and I definitely recommend :)...more
