From the moment we first met Kai and Max I’ve been eager to delve deeper into their story, and Miller was the perfect addition to round out this perfect home run for the heart. With both their hearts of gold and selfless manners, and all that stinkin’ cuteness that Max delivered, the stands will be going wild - I sure did.
Both Kai and Miller loved deeply and fiercely, always protecting those they let in. There was a balance to their relationship, and every interaction was portrayed beautifully, stealing my heart piece by piece. The chemistry, as always, was a 10/10, and I loved the banter, the humour, the flirtation, the emotion, and the heat that Tomforde slid in. And, you can’t forget that deep connection that only Tomforde can deliver. The character development spoke volumes and packed the story with heart and impact, and it was beautiful watching everything unravel - and patch itself back together again - to create this stunning portrait of love and coming home.
Miller is fierce, feisty and bold and we love a woman who says what shes thinking, unashamedly. She owns her space and has the biggest heart, and her journey towards understanding - and accepting - the heart of her passion and success was beautifully told in balanced emotions. It was so beautiful to see her finally understand Monty’s “sacrifice” and what it really meant for him to choose her, and for her in turn to choose what mattered most to her.
And can we talk about these admirable father/child bonds that have been spotlighted ...more

There is a certain comfort and depth to Tomforde’s words so sorely needed, and so often forgot, that I just can’t help to fall under its spell. A spell first cast through Stevie and Zanders, and only exemplified now by this latest instalment featuring Ryan, Stevie’s brother, and her best friend, Indy, and the roommate arrangement that would change everything.
Opposites in almost every way, they displayed individual growth and charm, and together they were couple goals and so damn adorable! They wrestled with their hurts, and their growth and progress was a replica of what you’d expect to see in real life, because that is what Tomforde’s characters are; real in almost every sense of the word. And the fact that they aren’t two people stood before me makes my heart hurt with a loss I never really had to begin with. These carefully constructed words bear the mark of the best characters breathing through the readers experience, and it is clear that Tomforde has played to their strengths.
Indy and Ryan’s insecurities made sense and presented naturally, and nothing felt over dramatic or forced. I delighted in observing them both re-learn their value and the worth found in who they are, and not what they did or offered others. The messages that Tomforde delivers are always sensitively and beautifully conveyed through the real life matters that speak to a wide audience - whether it be body image, grief, infertility, or anxiety - and it was all handled respectfully, as I’d fully expected from this author.
Every love language spoke volumes between these two, and I fell fast and hard alongside them. Love was present in the quiet gestures and my heart was a constant vat of warmth watching these two discover their place together, and their value in who they were as individuals. There is no doubt that Tomforde knows how to craft a truly gripping tale of love in every messy and adoring way that Indy and Ryan wore so well. There was a calm honesty to Tomforde’s words, a maturity to the relationship and these characters. And open communications will always equate to a slam dunk in my book!
The perfect balance of calm and chaos, and sensitivity and beauty, Liz Tomforde has made the right move by these characters, and this slow, delicious burn was worth every one of its 500+ pages. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on this 2023 must read!

Haunted by a grief so disarming, neither Holden nor Julep are strangers to life-altering loss, though their responses differ somewhat; where one lives, the other survives. And yet, they both broke me all the same. There was a depth and reconciliation to both characters that wooed my soul, and the growth and healing that Julep underwent was a deep but satisfying ache.
Their tension was wound so tight and erupted in a blissful (and delicious) chemistry as Holden and Julep disrupted one another’s lives in the best of ways, breaking through walls and peeling back the scars just enough to let someone in, and be that someone in return. Holden’s presence, even in the small moments, brought a comfort and peace to Julep, and her strength - even when she didn’t see it - and boldness brought an extra kick to their narrative. The real winner, however, was found in the maturity Steiner has crafted their emotion, and out of which these characters loved. It was perfectly on brand for Steiner’s work, and I honestly don’t know how they’re going to top this with their next one!
Quarterback Sneak was the perfect balance of sports and romance, the games coming to life on the page, the romance searing its edges. The balance of chemistry, passion, and the energy of a well earned win is unrivalled, and I have never loved sports romance as much as I love it when told by Steiner. I would read it all day, everyday, if their words permitted.
If you’re even remotely tempted by the following, then Quarterback Sneak is a MUST this Fall!

I’ve been enjoying the recent surge in Sports Romances featuring strong females dominating on and off the court, and romantic sports hero’s who are genuinely good people, and Cassie Flinchum has executed both beautifully with their latest release.
Blake was bold and fierce, with just the right amount of honest vulnerability, and I loved the way she is paving the way for the future of women in a world run by men - something which Blake herself acknowledges and owns on every page. I challenge you to read this and NOT be empowered by Blake’s strength and dominance as she calls all the shots. Despite the trauma of her past, and the shadows she lived in, Blake has nurtured her strength and owns her space, and I loved to see it!
There was an instant chemistry between Blake and Kyler, but also an immediate awareness of Blake’s past and need for healing that underlaid this attraction. Theirs was a love that was heartwarming and all consuming, raw and electric. It was a safe space to be vulnerable and heal, and everything about it was natural upon the pages. I appreciated the time taken in building a healthy relationship on the other side of toxicity, and I respected the trust earned by Kyler over time, and the growth and healing they both experienced together, and apart. I just adored them for one another; the ultimate pairing.
Flinchum has crafted the perfect balance of Sport and Romance with Calling the Shots, and I found this world of basketball to be engaging and prominent, a perfect exploration for their characters and shared passions.
I’m calling it now, Flinchum is going to go big AND go home in the pockets of many readers after this knockout performance on the court! Make sure you’ve secured your copy on Amazon today.

Pint of Contention was a blend of beauty and of pain, of fear and of vulnerability, and Ryan might just be my favourite King sibling yet (and as someone who adored Tanner, that says a lot!) Nix has crafted with intention and maturity, the life breathed into these characters relatable and fresh, and I appreciated the care that has been taken and the sensitive insight into ALS and the weight of Ryan’s fear.
Ryan was genuine and endearing, and the tenderness shared between he and Maggie was beautiful - I swear I teared up a couple times. I loved the push and the pull, the equal serving of strength and stubbornness, and the gentle love and delicious spice blended throughout. And Maggie - she was an absolute queen, owning her ground amidst the unfavourable light cast by her job. Seeing her open up to Ryan and explore the possibilities with him was exciting and it was all the love and joy she deserved.
Ryan’s fear of needing Maggie, and the pain of the secret he carried was painful; at times, almost debilitating. And oh how my heart hurt for him, this man who was so gentle and loving and deserving of all the love Maggie could offer him. She was his peace, his safety, and I loved this for him, just as he was everything for her in return. It was a balanced relationship and I just adored their individual growths and chemistry.
This was a charming, delectable love story that packed both heat and heart, and I wish I could experience this for the first time once more. My craving for the King Family is insatiable, and I cannot wait for another taste.
Thank you to Susannah Nix for the advanced copy of this book....more
