Dieser gehört immer noch zu einen meiner Lieblingsbücher. Umso mehr habe ich mich nun auf "Der Puppenwald" gefreut, welcher neu erscheint.
Ein Ausflug in die Stadt wird der 16-jährigen Jessica zum Verhängnis. Ein Mann verschleppt sie in sein abgelegenes Haus im Wald, um seiner Tochter den sehnlichsten Wunsch zu erfüllen: eine lebende Puppe. Wie ein Spielzeug behandelt das kleine Mädchen sie – kindlich und grausam zugleich. Weigert sich Jessica, das zu tun, was das Mädchen verlangt, wird sie von dessen Vater bestraft. Seine wahren Absichten durchschaut sie nicht, bis er sie in seinen Keller bringt …
Kommissarin Evelyn Holm, die den Fall übernimmt, ahnt, dass hinter der Entführung weit mehr steckt, als ihre Kollegen vermuten. Sie beginnt zu ermitteln und stößt auf eine Spur, die zu einer folgenschweren Gewissheit führt.
"Der Puppenwald" ist ein sehr gelungener Thriller, welcher mich durchgängig auf Grundlage eines spannenden sowie intensiven Plots unterhalten konnte. Calden hat mal wieder gezeigt, dass sie hochspannende, emotionale und tiefgründige Thriller schreiben kann. Mir ging das Buch unter die Haut.
Die Geschichte wird einerseits von Jessica (der Entführten), anderseits Evelyn, der Ermittlerin erzählt. Die wechselnde Erzählperspektive lag in einem guten ausgewogenem Verhältnis, sodass man einerseits die Entführung, anderseits die Ermittlungen verfolgen konnte. Beide Erzählstränge nahm ich als schlüssig und gelungen war. Besonders gelungen empfinde ich den Schreibstil der Autorin. Knackige Sätze, kurze Kapitel und ein rasantes Tempo - sowas mag ich an Thrillern und dadurch hatte ich noch ein intensiveres Leseerlebnis.
In die Hauptfiguren konnte ich mich einfühlen und besonders die Ermittlungen an Evelyns Seite gut wahrnehmen. Aber am meisten möchte ich das Ende des Buches loben. Calden hat sowohl in ihrem Buch "Die Rachsüchtige", aber auch in diesem Thriller gezeigt, dass sie grandiose, unerwartende Enden kreiieren kann. Ein wahres Feuerwerk wurde gezündet!
Ich kann jedem Thriller-Fan dieses Buch wirklich ans Herz legen. Es ist so gut geschrieben, hat einen wirklich spannenden Plot und wird euch an manchen Stellen aus der Fassung bringen. Aus diesem Grund gibt es dafür 5 Sterne. Leseempfehlung!!! ...more

Kurz darauf kommt der nächste Schock: Sechs von Forsters Studenten werden entführt. Der Täter fordert Forster zu einem makabren Spiel um das Leben der Menschen auf. Er droht, jeden Tag einen von ihnen brutal zu töten, wenn Forster nicht mitmacht. Forster begreift, dass nur er die Studenten retten kann – und dass der Täter jemand sein muss, der ihn kennt. Der Autor Tom Falkner kreiert mit dem Thriller „Gott ist böse“ ein gutes Debüt in diesem Genre, da es sich hierbei um einen spannende, brutalen sowie abwechslungsreichen Thriller handelt, der mich von Anfang bis Ende gut unterhalten hat.
Eins kann man vorab sagen. Bei dem Buch handelt es sich nicht um einen leichten Thriller, da der Autor einzelne brutale Szenen detailgetreu beschreibt, sodass man hier wirklich einen Magen aus Stahl haben muss. Hier kann zu der Brutalität ein Bogen zu Werken von Karin Slaughter bzw. Chris Carter geschlagen werden. Mit der Brutalität hatte ich keinerlei Probleme und es hat irgendwie zu der Gesamtstory gepasst. Das Buch ist insgesamt sehr spannend gestaltet. Ich hatte fast nie das Gefühl, dass es zähe Momente in diesem Buch gibt, sodass mich das Buch richtig gut gecatcht hat und ich durchaus ganze Zeit am Ball bleiben wollte. Im Mittelpunkt der Geschichte stehen der Psychoanalytiker Forster sowie eine Ermittlerin, welche zusammen als im weiten Sinne als Duo auftreten. Beide Figuren sind mit einer gewissen Tiefe entworfen worden, sodass ich mir als Leser schon ein erstes genaues Bild über die Figuren bilden konnte. Dennoch muss ich sagen, dass mir noch zu beiden Figuren ein paar Background Informationen zu den Figuren sowie ihrer Vergangenheit fehlen. Ich erhoffe mir, dass man diesbezüglich in kommenden Bänden mehr erfahren wird.
Sonst zusammengefasst kann ich sagen, dass ich Spaß hatte, das Buch zu lesen. Falkner entwirft wirklich ein guter Auftakt in eine neue Reihe und nimmt kein Blatt vor den Mund. Vom Klappentext hat sich das Buch auf jeden Fall sehr vielversprechend angehört:
„Hallo, ich bin Anna. Aber geboren wurde ich als Sky und ich glaube, dass du meine leibliche Mutter bist.“ Diese Nachricht trifft Susie wie ein Schlag in die Magengrube. Tatsächlich hat sie vor 15 Jahren als junge, mittellose Musikerin ihre Tochter zur Adoption freigegeben– und diese Entscheidung seitdem stets bitter bereut. Als Anna dann über ihre strengen Adoptiveltern berichtet, ist Susie überzeugt, dass das Mädchen Hilfe braucht. In der Hoffnung, ihren Fehler aus der Vergangenheit wieder gutzumachen, nimmt sie Anna bei sich auf. Doch das Mädchen verhält sich seltsam und verstrickt sich mehr und mehr in Lügen. Eine nur verständliche Reaktion auf die traumatischen Zustände in ihrer Adoptivfamilie? Oder steckt mehr dahinter? Was sind die wirklichen Gründe für die Adoption vor 15 Jahren? Und wer hütet hier welches Geheimnis?
Delaney hat mich mit seinem neuen Werk eher enttäuscht, als wieder begeistert. Obwohl ich in das Buch total gut eingestiegen bin, hatte ich das Gefühl, dass die ganze Handlung im Buch eher dem Zufall überlassen wollte. Es wirkte sehr konstruiert, sodass es mir an Authentizität gefehlt hat. Somit wirkte der Verlauf der Handlung eher unglaubwürdig, als realistisch. Aber auch die Figuren wie z.B. Susie handelten meiner Meinung nach sehr unglaubwürdig und unrealistisch. Teilweise so naiv und unrealistisch, sodass ich mich mit ihr als Protagonistin leider nicht anfreunden konnte. Ich meine, wie kann man als Mutter so viel durchgehen lassen? Aber auch ihren Ehemann, sowie (besonders) ihre Tochter, die sie damals zur Adoption freigegeben hat, empfand ich eher als nervig als sympathisch.
Auch wenn die Handlung sehr unrealistisch wirkte, hat es der Autor dennoch geschafft, dass ich am Ball geblieben bin. Es war nämlich an manchen Stellen spannend geschrieben. Schlag auf Schlag passierten viele Ereignisse, sodass man keine Längen im Buch hatte. (Leichter Spoiler!) Doch dann am Ende ging mir es persönlich doch alles dann zu schnell. Hier ein Ereignis, dann da wieder ein neues Ereignis. Zudem das Implementieren einer weiteren Schlüsselfigur in das Buch war dann meines Erachtens nach too much. Es passte an dieser Stelle nicht und sprengte den Rahmen. Darüber hinaus weist aber das Buch einen guten Schreibstil auf.
Fazit: Delaney hat mich mit seinem neuen Thriller eher enttäuscht. Die Handlung war zu sehr dem Zufall überlassen, nervige Figuren sprengten den Rahmen und das Ende wieß auch Schwächen auf. Leider kann ich dem Buch nur 2 Sterne geben – obwohl ich flüssig durch das Buch durchgekommen bin. ...more

Aber worum geht es eigentlich in diesem Thriller?
20 Jahre ist es her, dass die Abiturientin Maja bei einer Wanderung spurlos verschwand. 20 Jahre, in denen ihr Freund Arno Seitz jede Erinnerung an das traumatische Ereignis verdrängt hat.
Jetzt kommt beim Abiturtreffen vieles wieder hoch – Bilder, Gefühle, längst Vergessenes. Die Freunde von damals beschließen, den Wanderweg noch einmal gemeinsam zu gehen. Und jemand, der sich nicht zu erkennen gibt, zwingt Arno, sich endlich seinen Erinnerungen zu stellen.
Er hat Maja als Letzter gesehen. Er weiß genau, wo sie an jenem Morgen waren. Er hat sie in die Höhle gelockt. Aber was ist dann passiert?
Grundsätzlich hat mir die Idee des Plots gut gefallen. Die Story wird durchgängig aus der Sicht der Protagonisten Arno geschildert. Besonders durch den Ich-Schreibstil war man hautnah an dem Protagonisten dran, sodass man deine Gedankengänge total gut spüren konnte. Zudem war ich mir nie sicher, ob man Arno Vertrauen schenken kann, da er nicht ganz klar im Kopf ist. Deswegen hier der Bezug zum Titel ;). Aus diesem Grund gerät man als Leser in einen Gedankenkonflikt, indem man immer gut abwägen muss, ob man ihm vertraut oder nicht. Folglich wird es durch diesen Konflikt an manchen Stellen interessant und spannend.
Apropos Spannung. Spannung habe ich aufgrund der Einordnung des Buches in das Genre "Thriller" mehr erwartet. Wie erwähnt ist es an manchen Stellen spannend, jedoch wurde sonst die Spannungskurve sehr niedrig gehalten. Hier nehme ich viel Luft nach oben wahr.
Zudem fand ich das Ende des Buches nicht ganz gelungen. Hier hätte ich mir einen intensiveren Showdown vorgestellt.
Folglich lässt mich das Buch mit gemischten Gefühlen zurück. Obwohl man eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit dem Protagonisten hatte, waren die ganzen Sachen rundum ausbaufähig. Aus diesem Grund vergebe ich an dieses Buch 2,5 Sterne. ...more

Diesmal geht es im Buch ins kalte Sibirien. Dort gibt es eine zu gefährliche Strecke. Die als „Straße der Knochen“ bekannte Strecke ist ein riesiger Friedhof für die Gulag-Häftlinge der ehemaligen Sowjetunion. Hunderttausende von Menschen schufteten sich hier zu Tode und ihre Leichen von den eisigen Elementen verschlungen und unter die Permafroststraße gepflügt.Der Dokumentarfilmer Felix „Teig“ Teigland ist fasziniert von der Geschichte der Straße und plant eine neue Serie über Leben und Tod auf der Straße der Knochen. Er besucht die Stadt Akhust, den „kältesten Ort der Welt“, um dort Geistergeschichten und lokale Legenden zu sammeln. Doch als Teig und sein Team ihr Ziel erreichen, finden sie eine verlassene Stadt vor – bis auf ein katatonisches neunjähriges Mädchen – und ein Rudel räuberischer Wölfe, die schneller und schlauer sind, als es wilde Tiere sein sollten.Verfolgt von den jenseitigen Bestien, sehen sich Teigs Gefährten entlang der Straße der Knochen mit noch unheimlicheren und unerklärlicheren Phänomenen konfrontiert, als würden die Geister von Stalins Opfern sie heimsuchen.
"Road of bones" stellt für mich persönlich einen detailreichen sowie atmosphärischen Thriller dar, welcher besonders durch ein tolles Setting mich überzeugen konnte.
In das Buch bin ich gut eingestiegen. Bis die Geschichte so richtig losgeht, muss man sich als Leser teilweise ein bisschen gedulden. Aber das warten lohnt sich, denn danach entwickelt sich eine sehr spannende Story.
Was sehr besonders an diesem Thriller ist, wäre die zahlreichen Details, die der Autor in das Buch integriert. Man konnte sich trotz einer derartig großen Umgebung jedes kleine Detail perfekt vorstellen. Hier hatte ich das Gefühl, als ob ich vor Ort wäre.
Die Figuren um Teig und sein Team wurden gelungen in das Buch integriert. Diese haben nämlich gut hineingepasst. Lediglich schwierig bzw. verbesserungswürdig empfand ich die Charakterausarbeitungen. Die Figuren wiesen für mich persönlich eine zu geringe Tiefe auf, wodurch zu diesen nur eine distanzierte Bindung aufbauen konnte. Dies finde ich schade, weil ich bei einer besseren Bindung, die Erlebnisse noch intensiver wahrnehmen könnte.
Die Kapitellänge empfand ich gut gewählt und sonst war der Schreibstil im Allgemeinen gelungen.
Fazit: Road of bones ist ein atmosphärischer, detailreicher sowie spannender Thriller, der sich gut lesen lässt. Begebt euch auf eine kalte Reise nach Sibirien. Ich verteile 4 Sterne. ...more

Endlich erschien der vierte Band mit dem Titel "Blutnacht".
Alexander Blix, Kriminalhauptkommissar, sitzt in Haft. Eingesperrt mit Dieben, Vergewaltigern und Mördern, die er selbst hinter Gitter gebracht hat, erlebt Blix das dunkelste Kapitel seiner Karriere als Polizist. Doch dann erfährt er, dass außerhalb der Gefängnismauern Lebensgefahr für einen Mithäftling besteht: Ein Killer wartet darauf, dass der Insasse in vier Tagen in die Freiheit entlassen wird – um diesen dann zu ermorden. Nun muss Blix Polizeiarbeit hinter Gittern leisten, ein hochgefährliches Unterfangen, bei dem ihn nur seine Co-Ermittlerin Emma Ramm unterstützen kann ..
Zu dem vierten Band kann man nur sagen: eine 9 von 10. Der Thriller hat viel zu bieten, besonders einen rasanten Handlungsverlauf. Ich kann euch nur empfehlen mit dem ersten Band anzufangen, da ich der Meinung bin, dass man schon ein wenig Hintergrundwissen über Blix sowie Emma braucht. Natürlich kann man das Buch als Stand-Alone lesen, aber ich glaube, dass man dann einzelne Sequenzen nicht schlüssig verstehen wird.
Das Wiedersehen mit den beiden Figuren funktionierte problemlos und ich habe mich mit den Beiden wieder schnell angefreundet. Besonders innovativ fand ich, dass man Alex nun aus dem Gefängnis verfolgt, wodurch man an dieser Stelle eine andere Seite von ihm kennenlernen kann. Aber auch Emma durchlebt eine interessante Entwicklung, welche cool nachzuverfolgen ist.
Ich kann diese Reihe Lesern vorallem empfehlen, welche skandinavische Literatur mögen und ein bisschen tiefer in die Figuren eintauchen wollen und in jedem Band sich einem kalten Fall auseinandersetzen wollen.
Fazit: Ich vergebe an diesen Band 4,5 Sterne. Toller Plot, eine geniale Figurenentwicklung und wieder diese düstere skandinavische Grundstimmung. Passt irgendwie gerade nicht zu dem heutigen Sonnenschein. ...more

Jackson und habe mich sehr auf das Buch gefreut, da der Klappentext sich sehr vielversprechend angehört hat. In „Weißes Feuer“ geht es nämlich um Marigold, die mit ihrer Familie umzieht. Sie leidet unter einem Trauma, doch der Umzug könnte der Neuanfang sein, den sie braucht. Mit der gesamten Familie zieht sie in ein Haus im schwarzen Viertel von Cedarville im Mittleren Westen. Doch das tolle Bilderbuchhaus wird von den Nachbarn misstrauisch beäugt und hat seine Geheimnisse: Schränke öffnen sich von selbst, Geschirr verschwindet und in den Wänden hört man ein gespenstisches Flüstern. Was aber noch viel unheimlicher ist: Maris kleine Stiefschwester redet dauernd mit etwas, das nur sie sehen kann. Und es will, dass Mari aus dem Haus verschwindet. Nun ja, vor Geistern davonlaufen ist albern, die gibt es ja nicht, oder?
Jackson konnte mich von den ersten Seiten an, begeistern. Die Autorin zögert nicht lang und bringt von Anfang des Buches an, viele mystische sowie spannende in das Buch rein. Deswegen fand ich den Anfang des Buches in keiner Weise langweilig, sodass ich seit Beginn der Story total mitgefiebert habe.
Das neue Haus sowie die damit verbundene Umgebung, also das Wohngebiet, gibt auch viel her, viele mystische sowie düstere Elemente in das Buch zu integrieren. Ich als Leser habe nie so richtig gewusst, was wirklich passiert, sodass ich mir den Kopf daran zerbrochen habe, wie das Buch aufgelöst werden kann. Und bis zum Schluss des Buches blieb ich dran und habe nach dem Beenden des Buches mir gedacht, dass mir der Thriller rundum total gut gefallen hat. Besonders als gelungen empfand ich den Verlauf, den ich so in keiner Weise erwartet habe.
Einzig allein schwierig fand ich die anfangs die Protagonistin. Sie befindet sich im Teenie-Alter und ihr Kopf dreht sich aufgrund ihres Traumas (um welches es sich handelt, dass müsst ihr schon alleine herausfinden ;) ) nur um Drogen. Wie erwähnt, fand ich dies anfangs recht anstrengend, aber dann noch im Verlauf der Handlung immer mehr authentischer, da man ja bedenken muss, im welchen Alter sich Marigold befindet und welche Interessen sie aufweist. Zusammenfassend kann ich aber zu ihr sagen, dass sie gut in das Buch hereingepasst hat (auch wenn ich anfangs das nicht so gedacht habe). Die weiteren Nebenfiguren ergänzen das Buch passend.

Ein Fremder. Ein Versprechen. Ein tödliches Spiel, dem du nicht entkommen kannst.
Weil die Polizei im Fall seiner Tochter nicht weiter kommt, ist Danny überrascht, als ein Fremder ihm Informationen anbietet. Im Gegenzug soll Danny seinem neuen Freund ebenfalls helfen. Er willigt ein, dabei ahnt er nicht, auf welch makaberes Spiel er sich eingelassen hat – denn der Freund nutzt Danny lediglich für seine eigenen Zwecke, für ein Spiel, das sein Leben nicht bloß verändern, sondern beenden wird ...
Auch wenn die Plotidee in anderen Bücher in einer modifizierten Version schon vorkam, fand ich trotzdem, dass der Thriller durchaus ein gutes Buch ist, welches man bei einer heißen Kakao an einem regnerischen Tag verschlingen kann.
Das Buch ist total gut geschrieben. Der Autor hat einen sehr fesselnden Schreibstil, welcher mich kaum losgelassen hat. Ich kam hervorragend durch die Seiten und hatte somit viel Lesefreude mit diesem Buch.
Besonders gelungen wäre meiner Ansicht nach die Darstellung des Protagonisten, welcher durch das tragische Ereignis immer noch am Boden zerstört ist. Ich fand seine Gedankenwelt passend zu seinen Handlungen entwickelt und konnte mit ihm total mitfiebern. Auf der anderen Seite waren die Ermittlungen und somit die andere Perspektive (Ermittler) gut sowie transparent dargestellt, wodurch man insgesamt ein gutes Gesamtpaket in diesem Thriller enthält.
Spannung nahm ich in diesem Buch viel war, auch wenn es zu Beginn des Buches an mancher Stelle noch rasanter die Handlung sich entwickeln könnte. Hier kann ich aber mir vorstellen, dass sich der Autor mehr Zeit gelassen hat, das Setting, die Figuren etc. anhand von vielen unterschiedlichen Szenen vorzustellen. In Hinblick auf das Ende kann ich zudem auch viekle gute Sachen berichten, da ich dieses rundum als gelungen empfand.
Fazit: Wer auf der Suche nach einem soliden Thriller mit viel Spannung sowie authentischen Figuren ist, wird mit diesem Buch viele Freude haben. Ich vergebe an dieser Stelle starke vier Sterne! ...more

Keine andere als die Leiterin des KK 11 in Düsseldorf, Polizeirätin Eslem Keskin, die bislang kein gutes Haar an ihm gelassen hat, bittet Max um Hilfe. Er soll in dem kleinen Weinort Klotten an der Mosel inoffziell in einem nie gelösten Vermisstenfall ermitteln. Keskin ist in ihrem privaten Umfeld auf neue Hinweise zu dem über zwanzig Jahre alten Fall gestoßen und hofft, dass es Max gelingt, die richtigen Schlüsse zu ziehen. Doch kaum vor Ort ereignet sich ein Mord. Max ist bald an etwas dran, aber ignoriert alle Warnungen. Eine Entscheidung, die ihn das Leben kosten könnte.
Strobel hat meiner Meinung nach immer noch einen der flüssigsten Schreibstile, die man als Thriller-Autor haben könnte. Jedes Mal bin ich begeistert, wie gut sich die Bücher des Autors lesen lassen. In diesen Band bin ich wieder ohne Probleme eingestiegen, sodass ich im Plot direkt drin war. Im Vergleich zu den ersten beiden Bändern fand ich den neuen Fall für Bischoff teilweise nicht so spannend, wie es bei den Vorgängern den Fall war. Viel mehr hatte ich das Gefühl, dass bei diesem Punkt der Schwerpunkt auf die Ermittlungsarbeit gelegt worden ist und man vergeblich nach dem „Thrill“ sucht. In den Vorgängern war es nämlich genau anders, da ich das Gefühl hatte, dass in Band 1 und Band 2 den Leser actionreichere Szenen sowie ein höheres Tempo erwarten.
Dennoch hat es mir Spaß gemacht den Fall an der Seite von Bischoff zu lösen. Neben dem Hauptstrang geraten private Probleme des Protagonisten in den Vordergrund, was meiner Meinung nach ein bisschen die Spannungsentwicklung negativ beeinträchtigt hat. Nicht falsch verstehen – es war reichlich Spannung vorhanden, sodass ich das Buch innerhalb zwei Tagen durchgelesen habe. Dennoch muss ich zusätzlich sagen, dass ich trotzdem ein anderes Ende mir erhofft habe, da dieses meiner Meinung nach ein bisschen vorhersehbar war.

In Ghost Walk begeben wir uns an einen grausamen Pfad. Halloween steht vor der Tür und in LeHorn's Hollow wird eine neue Spukattraktion eröffnet. Die Leute werden aus dem ganzen Land anreisen, um sich auf dem Ghost Walk zu gruseln. Aber mit einer Sache haben die Besitzer des Geisterweges nicht gerechnet. In den Wäldern lauert wirklich etwas – ein riesiges, uraltes Übel mit einem unermesslichen Hunger nach Leben. Bald werden die ahnungslosen Kunden sich anstellen ... um zu sterben. Erst als ich das Buch beendet habe, habe ich bemerkt, dass es sich hierbei um einen zweiten Teil einer Reihe handelt. Um ehrlich zu sein, würde mir dies aber sonst nicht auffallen. Dem Autor gelingt es nämlich von Anfang an die Figuren sowie den Ort sehr transparent darzustellen. Ich hatte nicht das Gefühl, dass mir inhaltlich irgendetwas gefehlt hat.
Hauptfigur ist Levi. Obwohl er den Protagonisten des Buches darstellt, verfolgen wir die Geschichte zusätzlich aus weiteren Perspektiven, sodass mir seine Rolle als Hauptfigur bis dato nicht so ganz klar war. Dennoch konnte ich mich mit Levi schnell anfreunden und ich hatte viel Spaß die Geschichte an seiner Seite zu verfolgen.
Zum Buch allgemein lässt sich sagen, dass dieses Buch genretechnisch ein düsterer Thriller mit vielen gruseligen sowie mystischen Elementen ist. Besonders die Mystik erhält in diesem Buch einen hohen Stellwert, was mir rundum ganz gut gefallen hat.
Von der Spannung her fand ich das Buch gut, auch wenn es an manchen Stellen ein bisschen spannender sein konnte. Einzelne Szenen zogen sich und sorgten für langatmige Szenen, die meinen Lesefluss beeinflusst haben. Sonst kann ich eigentlich nur positives über das Buch berichten.

In diesem geht es um einen heftigen Showdown. Francis Ackerman jr. ist in den Fängen des sogenannten Demon, Ackermans größtem Gegenspieler. Nun muss er in dessen bizarrer Realityshow gegen verschiedene Killer antreten und dabei sowohl sein Leben als auch das unschuldiger Zivilisten retten, die unfreiwillige Mitspieler geworden sind. Doch eine Hoffnung gibt es: Jede Folge liefert Nadia Shirazi vom FBI neue Hinweise, um Ackermans Aufenthaltsort zu finden und das Netzwerk des Demon ein für alle Mal zu zerstören. Es gibt nur ein Problem: Damit dieser Plan aufgeht, muss Ackerman lange genug am Leben bleiben ...
Mal wieder schafft es Ethan Cross von seinen Einfallsreichtum und seiner Story völlig zu überzeugen. Auch wenn der Anfang sich bisschen zog, präsentiert uns der Autor danach einen heftigen Plot, wie man es von einem sehr guten Action-Film kennt. Viel Spannung, viele abrupte Szenenwechsel, viel Nervenkitzel und einfach tolle Figuren - besonders Ackermann.
Wenn Sie noch nicht die Reihe kennen, würde ich ihnen auf jeden Fall empfehlen mit Band 1 anzufangen. Beziehungsweise mit Shepherd-Reihe, damit sie einfach das Ackermann Universum besser kennenlernen können. In diesem Band werden nämlich viele Ereignisse aus der Vergangenheit aufgegriffen, sodass eventuell Ihnen an manchen Stellen der Kontext fehlen wird.
Sie erwartet zudem in diesem Buch kurze und knackige Kapitel, welche sich hervorragend lesen lassen - so wie immer vom Autor. Man kann so gut durch die Seiten fliegen. Ich würde sogar behaupten, dass man - wenn man die Zeit auch natürlich dafür hat - das Buch innerhalb eines Tages durchsuchten könnte! Einfach toll!
Ja man merkt, dass ich ein großer Ethan Cross Fan bin und ich warte schon sehnsüchtig auf kommende Werke!

Als das Paar einen Wochenendtrip in eine zum Ferienhaus umgebaute Kapelle in den schottischen Highlands gewinnt, ist beiden bewusst, dass es die letzte Chance sein könnte, ihre Ehe zu retten. Doch sie haben die Reise nicht zufällig gewonnen. Einer von ihnen lügt. Und diese Lüge ist tödlich … Die schottischen Highlands stellen für mich persönlich eine wunderbare atmosphärische Kulisse, sodass ich sehr gespannt war, wie diese umgesetzt wird … und ich muss sagen, dass die Autorin ein tolles Setting entwirft. Die Highlands mit der Kapelle und der ganzen Wetterlage konnte ich mir richtig gut vorstellen. Reines Kopfkino – einfach toll!
Spannungstechnisch fand ich besonders die erste Hälfte des Buches sehr gelungen! Die Spannung entsteht besonders durch das fehlende Vertrauen zwischen den beiden Hauptfiguren sowie dem Setting. Man weiß nie so richtig, was Adam und Amelie als Nächstes erwarten wird, sodass man gespannt von Kapitel zu Kapitel liest. Darüber hinaus fand ich die Briefe im Buch sehr gelungen, welche mich zudem auch sehr zum Nachdenken über die Hintergründe der Figuren angeregt haben. Die zweite Hälfte des Buches fand ich von der Spannungsgestaltung her nicht so stark. Insbesondere durch teils absurde Situationen sowie zähe Momente habe ich mich durch die zweite Hälfte des Buches quälen müssen. Folglich muss ich dann sagen, dass mich die Auflösung des Buches dann auch nicht abgeholt hat. Es war natürlich alles logisch und schlüssig, aber ich habe an dieser Stelle von Feeney noch mehr erwartet.
Fazit: Mich konnte Feeney mit ihrem neuen Thriller nicht so begeistern, wie erhofft. Besonders die zweite Hälfte des Buches empfand ich als langatmig, sodass ich schlussendlich dem Buch nur drei Sterne geben kann. ...more

In diesem Buch begeben wir uns in die Hauptstadt Deutschlands, Berlin. An einem brütend heißen Sommertag wird in Berlin-Wedding ein kleines Mädchen entführt. Zur gleichen Zeit ereignet sich im brandenburgischen Rheinsberg in einer kleinen Bankfiliale ein Überfall mit Geiselnahme. Zwei Fälle, die auf den ersten Blick nichts miteinander zu tun haben, aber im Verborgenen zusammenhängen. Als an diesem Morgen bei Linh-Thi Schmidt, Deutsch-Vietnamesin und Polizeioberkommissarin in Rheinsberg, und ihrem Ehemann Adam Schmidt, Kriminalhauptkommissar der Berliner Polizei, die Diensthandys klingeln, ahnen sie noch nicht, was ihnen bevorsteht: ein Tag, der sie beide an ihre Grenzen bringt und Erinnerungen weckt an jene alte Schuld, die Adam und Linh-Thi zusammengeführt hat und seither verfolgt.
In das Buch bin ich problemlos eingestiegen, da der Schreibstil einfach zu lesen ist und man die wichtigsten Informationen direkt an die Hand bekommt. Der Fall bzw. die beiden Fälle an sich waren spannend erzählt. Man springt zwischen den Fällen sowie auch in die Vergangenheit und taucht nach und nach in das Buch ein. Stück für Stück legen sich einzelne Puzzlesteine zusammen und es wird immer klarer, wie die Geschichten im Buch zusammenhängen. Spannend wurde es besonders zum Ende des Buches hin! Da konnte ich das Buch kaum aus der Hand legen.
Auf der anderen Seite hat mir die Figurengestaltung semi gefallen. Ich konnte mich mit Adam sowie mit Linh kaum anfreunden, da ich beide Figuren nicht greifbar fand – auch wenn man besonders, über eine Figur viele Informationen erfährt. Ich weiß leider auch nicht woran es gelegen hat, sodass ich auf jeden Fall den zweiten Band lesen möchte, um mehr über die Figuren zu erfahren. In den Figuren schlummert nämlich sehr viel Potential!
Fazit: Ein ordentlicher Auftakt in eine neue Reihe, mit zwei spannenden Fällen im Vordergrund! Ich wurde gut unterhalten, konnte mich mit den Figuren noch nicht so richtig anfreunden! Deswegen gebt es an dieser Stelle gute drei Sterne....more

In dem Buch geht es um Elin, welche sich zu einer Verlobungsfeier ihres Bruders Isaac in ein Luxushotel begibt. Früher war das Gelände ein Sanatorium, in dem Turbekulosepatienten behandelt worden sind. Auch wenn dies schon Vergangenheit ist, ist die dunkle Vergangenheit noch zu spüren. Vor Ort erscheint trotzdem alles friedlich. Doch dann verschwindet Isaacs Verlobte und kurze Zeit später gibt es eine tote Person. Als dann noch ein Schneesturm das Hotel von der Außenwelt abschottet, droht die Situation zu eskalieren.
Dieser Thriller hinterlässt mich mit gemischten Gefühlen zurück. Ich empfand den Einstieg in das Buch sehr mühsam. Die Autorin lässt sich sehr viel Zeit das Setting detailliert einzuleiten. Dies ist meiner Meinung immer wichtig, wenn man Bücher mit einem derartigen Schauplatz konzipiert. Leider muss ich aber sagen, dass ich viel über das Setting herausgefunden habe, mich aber die Dramaturgie, die mit dem Ort hervorgeht, nicht überzeugen konnte. Es war für mich nicht so düster, wie ich es erwartet habe. Darüber hinaus passiert im Einstieg – so um die 150 Seiten - sehr wenig. Es hat sich gezogen.
Doch dann als der Mord passiert, kommt die Geschichte ins Rollen. Es wird spannend und an der Seite von Elin stürzen wir uns in die Ermittlungen. Elin als Detective Inspector hatte interessante Ermittlungsarten und man konnte ihr gut über die Schulter schauen. Mit ihr als Protagonistin konnte ich mich dann auch anfreunden und es war spannend, sie als Person in derartigen Extremsituationen kennenzulernen. Zum Ende des Buches hin steigt noch einmal die Spannung, flacht jedoch mit der Auflösung und dem Ende ab. Dieses fand ich persönlich nicht so stark, wie erwartet. Hier hätte ich noch mehr Wendungen erwartet.
Fazit: Die Geschichte in diesem Thriller ist spannend geschrieben und es hat Spaß gemacht mit Elin den Fall zu lösen. Leider wurde aber das Potential des Settings nicht komplett ausgeschöpft und in dem Einstieg sowie dem Ende hätte ich mir noch mehr das gewisse Etwas erhofft. In diesem Buch geht es um einen brutalen Serienkiller, der von der Presse der "Puppenmörder" genannt wird. Dieser entführt die junge Krimiautorin Kara Bender. Er hält sie in einem düsteren Keller gefangen und zwingt sie, ein Buch über sein Leben zu schreiben. Für Kara, die unter Klaustrophobie leidet, beginnt ein Albtraum. Doch das Buch ist ihre einzige Chance zu überleben.
Das Konzept und die Idee hinter diesem Buch fand ich sehr erfrischend. Wir verfolgen die Geschichte an Seite von Kara und durchleben ihre ganzen Emotionen wie ihre Ängste etc. am eigenen Leib. Zudem verfolgen wir durch weitere Perspektiven die Ermittlungen um das Verschwinden von Kara. Dadurch entsteht ein gutes Erzählkonstrukt, wodurch man nicht den Eindruck hat, dass man etwas nicht mitbekommt.
Die Geschichte ist sehr spannend entworfen. Besonders die Anfangszeit von Kara im Keller fand ich hochspannend, da man nie so richtig wusste, was die Protagonistin demnächst erwarten wird. Den Verlauf der Handlung fand ich interessant und wendungsreich. Das Ende habe ich mir anders vorgestellt, gebe ich mich aber mit diesem völlig zufrieden. Ich hätte mir an dieser Stelle noch mehr spektakuläre Wendungen erwünscht.
Schreibstiltechnisch ist das Buch super geschrieben. Ich schätze Walters Schreibstil sehr, da er sich unheimlich flüssig liest. Perfekte Kapitellänge, keine unnötigen verschachtelten Sätze.

In "Little Eve" begeben wir uns ins Jahr 1921. Sieben verstümmelte Leichen werden in einem uralten Steinkreis auf einer schottischen Insel entdeckt. Die Opfer sind die Kinder eines Naturkults, der von der Otter regiert wird, einem sadistischen Patriarchen. Und das Wort der Otter ist Gesetz. Vor der Welt verborgen, verehren die Kinder die Große Schlange, die im Ozean wohnt, tanzen im Morgengrauen auf den Felsen und opfern ihr Blut. Die einzige Überlebende des Massakers behauptet, Eve sei die Mörderin. Doch hinter Eves Geschichte verbirgt sich eine dunklere, seltsamere Wahrheit …
Mit diesem Buch entführt uns die Autorin in das Gothic-Genre und dies spürt man schon seit der ersten Seite an. Es herrscht im Buch eine durchgängige düstere, teils melancholische Stimmung, die insbesondere durch die Figuren verstärkt wird.
In das Buch bin ich im Allgemeinen nicht so leicht eingestiegen. Uns erwarten viele Perspektiven sowie Zeitsprünge mit Rückblicken, wodurch man als Leser einen Überblick erhalten muss. Zudem entwickelt sich die Geschichte sehr langsam. Den Thrill-Faktor im Form von actionreichen Szenen sowie tausenden Wendungen wird man bei diesem Buch leider nicht finden. Dafür gelingt es der Autorin auf eine besondere Art und Weise einen vielschichtigen Thriller aufzubauen, der den Leser nach und nach tiefer in die Geschichte reinzieht. Dadurch kommen immer mehr Fragen auf, für welche man mit viel Sehnsucht eine Antwort sucht. Diese Konzept mit der melancholischen Stimmung und der langsam aufbauenden jedoch intensiven Spannung hat mir insgesamt ganz gut gefallen, auch wenn das Buch die ein oder andere Action Szene schon vertragen konnte.
Schade fand ich darüber hinaus, dass sich die Autorin im Vergleich zu ihrem Thriller "Das letzte Haus in der Needless Street" viel längere Kapitel gestaltet hat (teilweise um die 60 Seiten). Dies fand ich auf Dauer anstrengend zu Lesen.
Fazit: Wer auf der Suche nach einem melancholischen Thriller mit einer langsam aufbauenden Spannungskurve ist, wird mit diesem Buch fündig werden. Lassen sie sich auf ein schauriges Abenteuer ein! Von mir gibt es 4 Sterne!

Was für ein Thriller! Das Buch "Die Herzchirurgin" konnte mich sehr begeistern, da es ein wahrer Pageturner ist. Ich habe das Buch in einem Tag inhaliert, da der Autor einen derartig spannenden sowie emotionalen Plot entwirft, welcher wirklich unter die Haut geht. An der Seite von Anna - in der Ich-Perspektive - verfolgen wir die Story. Wir können Annas Emotionen voll am eigenen Leib spüren, weil sie ihre Gedankengänge und Emotionen mit uns teilt. Zusätzlich verfolgen wir die Story aus der Sicht einer Ermittlerin namens Rachel sowie Annas Kollegin namens Margot. Diese zwei zusätzlichen Perspektiven ergänzten die Geschichte gut, da man in diesen interessante Nebenhandlungen gut verfolgen konnte.
Wie erwähnt, ist das Buch sehr spannend entworfen. Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass es an keiner Stelle irgendwie langweilig wurde. Wenn es aber doch an einer Stelle ein bisschen ruhiger wurde, kam der Autor mit einem unvorhsehbaren Twist um die Ecke und konnte die Spannung wieder auf ein hohes Niveau bringen. Toll!
Am Schreibstil habe ich nichts auszusetzen. Toll, intensiv, einfach geschrieben.

Der Jugendthriller mit knappen 130 Seiten konnte mich voll abholen. Auf diesen Seiten konnte der Autor mit viel Tempo eine spannende Geschichte um fünf Freunde verfassen, welche viele wichtige Fragen wie Moral, Ethik etc. in den Raum wirft. Bei diesem Buch geht es nicht um eine detaillierte Figurenausarbeitung, sondern viel mehr steht die rasante Geschichte im Vordergrund.
Es gibt in diesem Buch keinerlei Längen. Man fiebert mit. Man fühlt die Emotionen der Figuren. Man fliegt wirklich gut durch die Seiten – auch bedingt durch einen gut lesbaren Schreibstil, welcher keine unnötigen langen Nebensätze aufweist.

Mordermittlerin Jagoda Milosevic und ihr Kollege Frey nehmen den Fall auf und stoßen dabei auf den Hinweis, dass das Opfer in der Vergangenheit Frauen missbraucht hat. Kurze Zeit später kommt ein weiterer Sexualstraftäter ums Leben. Eine Serie, die sich fortführen wird? Milo und Frey ermitteln unter Hochdruck.
Besonders spannend und wichtig fand ich bei diesem Buch die Thematik, die aufgegriffen wird. Keine leichte Kost, die auch ein paar Tage nach dem Lesen des Buches sie beschäftigen wird. Das Autorinnennduo verfasst einen spannenden Auftakt in eine neue Reihe, welches unter die Haut gehen wird. Das Buch ist wirklich spannend geschrieben und es wurde fast durchgängig zu einem richtigen Pageturner. Ich konnte das Buch kaum aus der Hand legen. Ich habe mit Milo und Frey viel mitgefiebert und konnte an vielen Stellen selber gut Theorien aufstellen, die aber nach kurzer Zeit durch gute Twists wieder entkräftet wurden.
Lediglich tat ich mich mit Milo und Frey schwer, da ich mit beiden nicht so richtig warm wurde. Nichtsdestotrotz fand ich Milo gut konstruiert und fand die Einblicke in ihr privates Leben sehr interessant. Hier bin ich gespannt, was wir noch alles über sie sowie über Frey erfahren werden. Folglich freue ich mich auf Band 2, der hoffentlich bald erscheinen wird.
Fazit: Ein toller Auftakt in eine neue Reihe, welcher spannend und von der Thematik wichtig ist. Von mir gibt es starke vier Sterne, da ich bei der Figurenausarbeitung noch Luft nach oben wahrnehme. ...more

Sie soll herausfinden, ob die kürzlich entdeckten knapp 100 Vulkane aktiv werden könnten. Ein Ausbruch hätte katastrophale Folgen für die ganze Welt. In der Forschungsstation angekommen, stellt Antonia fest, dass dort nicht alles mit rechten Dingen zugeht. Bei ihren Nachforschungen kommt sie dem Robotik-Experten Pietro Malatesta in die Quere, der auf eigene Faust nach Diamant-Vorkommen sucht. Eins kann man dem Autor lassen. Er bringt in das Buch ein umfangreiches Wissen und somit viel Authenzität ein, sodass man dies beim Lesen spürt. Viele Details und gute Beschreibungen sorgen für ein kaltes Kopfkino.
Die Geschichte ist im Allgemeinen sehr spannend geschrieben. Ich konnte mich voll auf die Geschichte einlassen und habe total mit Antonia mitgefiebert. Ich hätte mir nur bei Antonia eine tiefere Ausarbeitung gewünscht, da ich glaube, dass ich dadurch die Dramatik noch mehr wahrnehmen könnte.
Es gibt viele Verdächtige, sodass man als Leser selbst angeregt wird, zu untersuchen, was es wirklich mit der Geschichte in der Antartkis zu tun hat. Viele Personen spielen in der Geschichte nicht mir richtigen Karten und so werden viele nach und nach offenbart. Diese Offenbarungen fand ich richtig gut und sie konnten mich immer wieder überrasschen. Zusätzlich möchte ich noch sagen, dass ich es cool fand, dass dieser Thriller trotz einer wissenschaftlichen Note, nicht zu trocken gestaltet war.
Fazit: "Der Riss" ist ein solider Thriller mit viel Spannung, welcher ein kaltes Kopfkino Ihnen anregen wird. Mich konnte die Geschichte gut unterhalten und ich bin gespannt, was aus der Feder vom Autor noch kommen wird. ...more
