As a reader, my favorite genres are science fiction and fantasy, but as a writer, I've found my home in romance--or perhaps it's better to say simply "love stories." I have a yen to try other genres, too, at some point, but for now my muse wants to tell stories about lovers and families.
I write for the joy of it, and I write stories that I want to read. If others like them, too, that's just the cherry on top. I’m not interested in rules and formulae. I follow my muse and my characters and let them take me where they want to go, wherever that might be. I like big emotions, dark and light.
I like complicated characters with flaws and weaknesses as well as strengths, and I like each character’s strengths and weaknesses to be different from those of other characters. I’m much more concerned that my characters be interesting and diverse than that they be widely considered to be likable. I try to create people, not types.
Likewise, I want my stories each to be distinct from the others. Once I’ve told a story, I don’t want to tell it again. So even within a series, one of my books might be very different from the next. Some might be very dark, others equally mild.
That isn’t to say there aren’t trends and recurrences in my work. I’m drawn to certain themes and settings, and my muse has her favorite toys and tools. But I guard against those tendencies becoming a formula.

4.5 stars!!!
THIS is the book in this series I was most looking forward to. And there is one reason for that. His name is Show. I was intrigued by this man from the start, but after book 2, seeing all that Show went through, I had to know that he would find his happy. I loved the way this turned out.
Show and Shannon meet, and their is chemistry between them from the start. But Show has some things he needs to work out with himself. The last year has been hell for the man. Shannon has a past she's running from, but she's settled down in Signal Bend and ready to be with someone like Show.
I loved these two characters together. Shannon grew on me with time, but Show was amazing from start to finish. Seriously, there wasn't anything I didn't love about him! I loved that his book was more emotional, peaceful, and about his healing. I'm sure as the series goes on, there will be more gritty biker books like the last one, but this was raw in a real way and it reflected Show's journey.
This was a strong third book to the Signal Bend series. Into the Storm is my kind of read. I'm excited to carry on with the other books and see more of these characters I've grown to love!

This one was a little different from the first two. Not as violent, not as gritty. I found it a bit slow at times. But I guess that is the type of guy Show is and I suppose the pace of the story suited him.
Show had a fairly shitty life. His marriage broke up. His family fell apart. He does not want or need love. Shannon arrives in town to take over the running of the local B & B. She is attracted to him. He does not want to feel anything for anyone.
“You look at me like you see something.” He drew his thumbs over her cheekbones and felt the swell as she smiled.
“I do.”
“No. Nothing to see.”
She blinked and her eyes cleared and opened fully. “That’s not true, Show. I see kindness. Strength. And sorrow.” One hand slid from his neck, and she put her fingers over his mouth and through his beard. “When I look at you, I can feel you. I don’t know why.”
Gently, letting his mouth learn her, savoring the silken glide of her lips on his, the warmth of her tongue again his. His blood humming, his cock hard and straining, he groaned and dropped her hand so he could frame her face
As with the other books in the series, I don’t want to say too much for fear of giving anything away.
I did like it but I think the first two were better. Maybe I missed the excitement and gritty violence that this book did not have. There was one "twist" which, to be honest, I saw coming. Overall a very enjoyable read and I will be checking out the next in the series.

I could have given Show five stars in order to honor the author's "originality" and courage for having written a sexy and hot hero in his late 40s (Show is almost fifty-years-old). As many of you know I'm a sucker for older MCs. By the way, it would have pleased me immensely when Show had been paired with a strong woman in her late 40s.
For the sake of all those readers who haven’t started this series yet, I won’t be going into real details as to what happened to Show in the previous book Behold the Stars. Suffice it to say that his loss was huge. He’d been drowning his grief in too many bottles of hard liquor and didn’t socialize much. Even before he lost everything, his family life wasn’t at its best. Show was still trying to weather that storm of grief, pain and loss when Shannon entered his life. The manager of Signal Bend's new Keller Acres Bed & Breakfast brought a fresh breeze into his life before he was even ready to acknowledge it. In the process he had to reacquaint himself how to court a prospect love interest. Lemme tell you it started off a little bit bumpy but in the course of time good ole Showdown was back in the swing of things. Mmm…it might be of interest to you when I say it was pretty hot. Not too shabby for an almost fifty-year-old biker dude, for sure.
I didn't understand why Shannon acted self-righteous and bitchy because she was pretty much aware of Show's tragic fate when she hit on him. Thus I really expected her to be more sympathetic and understanding towards Show's position and his state of mind. Show is a level-headed man, taciturn and a thinker. He's the opposite of hothead Isaac, hero of Move the Sun and Behold the Stars. First, Show acted indifferent, like he wasn't interested and he simply ignored Shannon. However, as time passed, he had to admit that he wanted to share his life with someone even though he was afraid to bind himself to a woman again. Being intimate with Shannon made him realize how lonely and hollow his life had been
What saved this book for me was Show. He's the s@it! I have a little crush on that HUGE hunk of a man, and I would have loved to give this book a higher rating, but I honestly didn't like Shannon. In fact, I would have preferred to seeing Show with a woman who could have kicked some serious ass. Someone…different. Shannon was too insensitive and her secretiveness got on my last nerve. Oh, and that effin' freak-out of hers…WTF? It was very OTT. Despite there being a couple incredibly intense and heart-breaking moments depicting Show and his gut-wrenching grief, I'm very sorry to say that I couldn't get past my dislike for Shannon. I didn't mind the quieter tone of the story which accommodated the calm hero nicely, and romance readers will be pleased to hear that Into the Storm is much less violent than its predecessors.
Into the Storm is a story about laying old demons to rest and finding a sense of purpose again. It's also about rediscovering your needs, wants and desires and acting upon them without feeling guilty. Show has found his road again.
If you are a fan of the Signal Bend series then I recommend you to read Into the Storm.

My sweet, broken Showdown. Gah. That man. I just wanted to wrap him up in love and sunshine, bless his heart, he deserves some happy. Into the Storm was a quiet reprieve from the intense action and brutality of Behold the Stars. This book focuses on Show, dealing with guilt, picking up the pieces and moving forward, with the help of a glamorous redhead with a few secrets of her own.
“I don’t want to be fixed. Not by anybody but me. Just asking if you can see your way to hang around a spell while I do it.”
I really enjoyed Show's story, while at times Shannon annoyed me, Show was perfection. The biker element wasn't very strong in this story, and things are calm in Signal Bend, which makes me even more anxious of what is to come, with each book I become more invested in this series and these characters, on to the next book!

5 SHOWDOWN Stars
”Signal Bend was coming back. Now Show needed to find his way back, too. If he could.”
I maybe showing my age but the lyrics to this Salt N’ Pepper song rings true for Showdown Ryan!
Showdown’s life is destroyed in the last book of this series. He losses so much and is now left with an empty Americana decorated house and a shit ton of grief. He has to be one of the most realistic characters that I have read or perhaps I just really related to him. I LOVED him and his damn beanies, his huge presence, his kick ass but gentle nature.
Yes there is a love interest in this story and her name is Shannon. She has been ducking something from her past which she ends up finding peace with. Shannon was a likable character and knew what a prize being Showdown’s old lady was so I didn’t mind her taking her time to tell her background to him.

"No. Nothing to see.”
"That’s not true, Show. I see kindness. Strength. And sorrow.”
Showdown’s situation with Holly and his flowers just broken my heart and his journey to live again was just excellent. I actually got a bit teary, I was just that happy for him… and Shannon.

★★★★☆ 4.5 Weathering the Storm Stars!
Into the Storm is the third part of the Signal Bend series by Susan Fanetti and it tells the story of Robert "Showdown" Ryan and Shannon Bannerman. At first I was afraid Show and Shannon wouldn't be able to live up to the epicness of Isaac and Lilli, who were the centre of book 1 and 2, but they managed to change my mind pretty quickly. Shannon was once again a strong, feisty heroine and Show was a tortured broken hero with a rough exterior but a soft heart.
The events of book two turned Show into a empty shell of a human being. A year later, he still hasn't recovered from what happened. Separated from the rest of his family, he now lives at the clubhouse, drowning himself in booze and misery. Shannon, the B&B's fulltime manager, however, sees behind his broken exterior.
From the moment she first met him she's been drawn to him. Not only because of his gorgeous face and body but because she she feels a connection to him. She sees his strength, his kindness and even thought he pushes her away time and again, she's not willing to give up on trying to save him from his loneliness and grief.

Show and Shannon's love story is one that develops slowly but powerfully. They both have a lot of obstacles to overcome but together they're stronger than they ever were before and they're both willing to stand by the other and encourage them to face their fears. Just like the previous two book in the series, this was once again a wonderfully told story filled with love, lust, heartbreak and loss. There were many ups and downs and if there's one thing Susan Fanetti knows how to do, it's to keep things interesting and never without a surprise or two.
Recommended series for anyone searching for hot, sexy, kindhearted bikers; strong, independent heroines and a suspenseful romance-filled storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. No cliffhanger.

5 give me more tissues please STARS
Oh man, this was a much appreciated breath of fresh air. After all that went down in the first two books I really needed something mellow. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love Show and Shannon and this town and all the people in it. Thank you Ms. Fanetti for making Into the Storm such a beautiful and yet at times heartbreaking experience. Besides me not being able to handle much more of the drama I think the town and especially Show needed a little healing time.
Robert “Showdown” Ryan, where do I begin?
First and foremost he is the Night Horde MC's VP. He loves his club and even though his involvement ultimately tore his family apart and contributed to the death of his eldest daughter, the club was all he had left.
I swear this man has to be a saint, equipped with almost inhuman strength and compassion. After all he has lost and all the things he has endured, he is still standing. He is barely functional, but still...for some reason he keeps on going.
I cried a few times reading about his past...how his marriage with Holly had turned out, the things he tolerated to maintain a peaceful and quiet home was maddening...especially for a man like that. Hence the saint part.
Holly truly is an awful character and her keeping his girls away from him was so unbelievably cruel, I don't even know how to handle it. I know she has suffered a lot but Show is a good man, with a good heart. I loved to see the love for his girls, how he fought for them and how he tried to deal with the fallout.
Showdown is a broken character and seeing him try to mend himself was absolutely devastating and beautiful. I think you can all agree that he deserves a little help, right?
Ok, enter the redhead looking like a pin-up girl. Please don't hold it against her, she is actually a pretty decent heroin.
Shannon Bannerman is the new manager of the Keller Acres Bed & Breakfast. Lilli hired her to help and take some of the work load off the new mother...well and to be honest Lilli has no idea how to actually run a B&B, so having someone with experience helps a lot. And boy does she help...one word: weddings!
From the first day she stepped into Signal Bend, Shannon had a little crush on Show. They first met while he was working on the B&B's Gazebo with Isaac and there was very little clothing on the top half involved...instant-lust is what they call it these days, I believe. ;P
Shannon never made a secret of her interest in him and in the beginning she is quite bold to show it as well. I actually appreciate how unapologetic she is around him. She knows a bit about the past...gossip mostly but she doesn't treat him any different because of it.
I've read a few reviews that portrait her as an annoying woman and make Show out to be the perfect male specimen, but to be honest I can't agree. Yes, Shannon has secrets she keeps and those secrets lead to some rather erratic behaviour especially in the last part of the book...but this a fictional world and we do need a little drama to keep the ball rolling. Shannon is a strong female character, she is intelligent, good looking and she knows what she wants. I don't see a problem with any of that.
Plus, she is good for our dear hero, so deal with it...I love her!!
All in all, this was the perfect book for Show and my poor heart is happy as well. On to the next one...

re-read August 2017 - Show and Shannon's beautiful story reminds of the pure vulnerability and direct honesty of this series, this writing, and these characters. This story is quite emotional as Show and Shannon's coupling takes unexpected turns and rises from the ashes of their pasts. Loved every minute of it.

The Signal Bend Series continues with Into the Storm giving us Show and Shannon's story. I loved the first two books in the series which featured Isaac and Lilli. Into the Storm provides whole new tone to it making it different than the first two. Even with a slightly different feel to the series this book exceeded all expectations. The outward intensity and heavy plot that we're used to from Signal Bend is not as prevalent in this installment. However, the plot is heavily emotional. The author carefully shreds your heart with grief and regret, making though feelings visceral to the reader. I’ve said it my other reviews of this series and I’ll say it again – Fanetti’s descriptive writing draws you into Signal Bend like you’ve been a part of this world for far longer than just three books. The writing brilliantly focuses on the description without being flowery. It’s always balancing on an edge between light and dark, good and bad. Signal Bend is Podunk little town whose existence thrives on justice served by a local MC full of men who are stereotypically bad boys, bad boys with morals and hearts and dignity. Her character development, as always, flawlessly works the main characters into our hearts. We feel everything from them deeply.
Show and Shannon both just exist in the world, both living with deep and sorrowful regret. Show drowns in sorrow and grief. This book takes in depth look in Show's world. If you liked him the first two, which I did, you will like him no less when you hear his story from his own words. The nature of his character fiercely represents a flawed but beautiful man. His story is gripping and raw. My heart ached for Show. Underneath all that grief and regret we find a humble, beautifully broken man looking for something to pull him from the shadows. Shannon's story is quite opposite from his. She lives in the past; raw the wounds it’s inflicted. As her life unravels after moving to Signal Bend, Show provides a sense of strength for her to finally let her cards lie where they may. The love story between Shannon and Show evokes strong emotions from these two characters who kept their feelings locked up on the inside for so long. Its two characters stripped down to their most basic of natured flaws. It’s about two people shedding the dark shells they’ll been hiding in and healing together.
This book also provides a further look into the Isaac and Lilli lives through Show's eyes. The town of Signal Bend is also on a hard and fast path to redemption and we get in depth look at how everyone is dealing with the changes that are occurring. Into the Storm is a moving story of separate kinds of redemption especially for two people who draw support and strength from each other. The writing is, as always, very descriptive easily sucking into the world of Signal Bend. This author packs a powerful punch in her words. Her ability to evoke such strong convictions from the reader is remarkable. She effortlessly forces you to feel compassion for her characters, to believe in them. And you will. This is a series that I would definitely recommend and re-read. I can't wait for the next book.

Into the Storm deals with a broken man who has lost some of the most important people in his life; his family. Sorrow and pain are at an all time high when his family feels they are better off without him. Along the way he has lost his smile and needs someone to help him find it.
This third installment is a more mellower biker book compare to the previous two installments. Move the Sun is a milder version of a hard core biker book and Behold the Stars pulls out all the punches. So, reading this one was a nice change of pace. It allowed me to breathe again after the intensity of book 2. I've been reading them back to back hoping to finish the current books before the newest one is released in a week.

I love Show!
I'm really falling for this series as a whole! Susan Fanetti is absolutely awesome at writing characters, creating personalities and incredible plot. Didn't expect to find an MC series to love as much as Wylde's Reapers series. This one kept me hooked all the way, it was the kind of stay-up-all-night-to-finish kind of book.
Really, they all were incredible. Have nothing more to say. If you like hot alpha males and if you're looking for new book boyfriends, this is the series for you!

4.5 SHOWDOWN STARS
I’m in love with the Night Horde MC and Signal Bend. This third book in the series was a totally different feel and pace from the last two but, also fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed Show's POV and seeing Isaac and Lilli's through his lens.
I thought like the residents of Signal Bend, the more subdued tone of this book was needed to regroup, process and heal. Yet, it was still heart wrenching at times, as Show came to grips with the loss of his Daisy.
And to further complicate things for Show was Shannon. At first glance, Shannon "the glamourpuss" did not seem to be right for Show but she grew on me. And while her secret was not that hard to figure out, their demons and wounds were the perfect foil for each other. In the end, Show and Shannon just fit.
“You look at me like you see something.” He drew his thumbs over her cheekbones and felt the swell as she smiled.
“I do.”
“No. Nothing to see.”
She blinked and her eyes cleared and opened fully. “That’s not true, Show. I see kindness. Strength. And sorrow.” One hand slid from his neck, and she put her fingers over his mouth and through his beard. “When I look at you, I can feel you. I don’t know why.”
Excuse me, but I have to get this off my chest...Let's face it, any woman would look good compared to Holly! Sorry, I truly feel for her and the horrible violence done to her and her daughter but what I just can't get is...
If you were so fucking miserable before all the shit hit the fan then, rather than torture Show and yourself, why didn't she leave?!

While this was not as intense, I needed it to gather my thoughts and to actually work through the roller coaster of the second book. Overall, this was mellow and sweet just like Show!

4.5--Show is the SHIT--Stars!!!

She was no Lilli...who is going to be one tough to beat heroine.
But...Show more than made up for where Shannon was lacking and this was another great addition to the series.
There wasn't a lot of angst and drama. Into the Storm was more about Signal Bend picking up the pieces of the Ellis fallout. Regrowing, rebuilding, starting over. And the same for Show. Show suffered a tremendous loss during the fallout.
Show's life was torn apart and he had to learn how to start over too. How to pick up the pieces and move on. To get to a point where he could be open to the possibility of love again. He finds that with Shannon.
For Shannon, Show wasn't the type of guy she typically dated. But there was just something about him. Something that drew her in. Show was so open and honest with Shannon. About all that he went through and how it affected him. Shannon was more reluctant to open to Show about her past.
Shannon frustrated me at times.
Eventually Shannon's past catches up with her and she's forced to face things. She's scared that the decisions she made in her past will push Show away. That one's he finds out what she did, he won't want to be with her.
But Show is Show...he's perfection! Really a fantastic hero.
This was a great addition to the series, which has quickly become my all time favorite biker series!

Show and his old lady got their story and it was bittersweet just like their lives that they started trully living together.
I am now invested in the series... I care about this people and I can't get enough. I get that Show deserved peace and quiet, but for Bart I really need something kickass!!!

4.5 Stars!
When I started reading the Signal Bend Series I knew right from the beginning that these books had a different feel to them. A different vibe than other MC book’s I have read. This still holds true.
Into the Storm is the story of Robert “Showdown” Ryan. We really got to know Show in book 2, Behold the Stars. Show’s life is empty. He has experienced loss like no other man should. Feeling this tremendous loss and carrying around guilt, Show lives a hollow life. That is until Shannon crosses his path one day at the new Bed & Breakfast Inn.
Shannon is beautiful, elegant and sexy. Lilli has hired her to run the B & B Inn. She is the one that notices Show first and though she tries to ignore what she instantly feels for him, she decides to do something about it.
“You look at me like you see something.” He drew his thumbs over her cheekbones and felt the swell as she smiled. “I do.” “No. Nothing to see.” She blinked and her eyes cleared and opened fully. “That’s not true, Show. I see kindness. Strength. And sorrow.” One hand slid from his neck, and she put her fingers over his mouth and through his beard. “When I look at you, I can feel you. I don’t know why.”
Show has had to work through some pretty difficult stuff that life has handed him. He wants to feel whole again, he wants to feel loved and to love, but he isn’t certain he can have all of this.
“Everybody has a favorite color. What color makes you feel good when you see it? What color makes things better?” He put his hands around her face and regarded her steadily, deeply. His thumbs traced the tops of her cheekbones. “Blue. Blue is my favorite color.” “Like sky blue, or navy blue, or—” “Like your eyes.” “Show wasn’t a sweet talker or a romantic. He was just…true. Real. Direct. And it made the times he said amazingly sweet, romantic things like that a billion times more amazing, because he simply meant what he said.”
Into the storm was a bit different from the previous two books. There is less grit and angst. Things have settled down in Signal Bend and for me, this book was about the people healing and the town coming back to life.
Show and Shannon have that instant physical connection. I loved them together. There were a lot of unexpected sweet and pretty damn sexy moments from Show which I enjoyed. Shannon had no reservations about how she felt towards Show but she is hiding something from Show. Something that she feared would tear them apart.
I really did enjoy this book. I didn’t love it as much as book 1 & 2 but it was a still a great read. I will be reading book 4 next! This is such an amazing series and I have fallen in love with how Susan Fanetti writes. ❤

"Into the Storm" is book #3 of the Signal Bend series. This installment is Robert "Showdown" Ryan's book, or better known as Show. He is the Vice President of the Night Horde MC, and this is a man who is a tortured one. In book two, Show was dealt some major heartache and trauma. When I say major, I mean far more than anyone should ever have to deal with in their lifetime. Seeing him be dealt so much emotional pain, I was looking forward to his book and him getting a HEA that he deserved. Instead he got Shannon Bannerman, the newest lady in town who is running the Keller Acres Bed and Breakfast. I don't mean to be so negative when it comes to Shannon, and I tried really hard to like her..but the fact is, she had done several things that made me lose respect for her very quickly. Of course I don't wish to include any spoilers in my review. Let me just say that I felt the secret that she was keeping from everyone just wasn't something that was very major. It most certainly didn't even come close to touching the trauma that Show had experienced. It also ticked me off that she wouldn't open up to this wonderful man, who was laying all of his hurt on the table for her to see. He was giving her his heart and soul, and she was giving nothing in return. I felt Show deserved so much more than that, he truly did. He deserved a woman who would worship the ground he walked on, after everything he had been through.
In saying all of that about Shannon and Show's "pairing,"this really put a damper on the enjoyment of the book for me. Also, this book didn't come close to being as exciting as Book 1 and 2 in the series. It was on the dull side of drama, which I know some readers felt it was a good break from the first two stories. Me, on the other hand; craved the high action and emotion that we got in the first couple of books.
After all was said and done with this book, it just didn't fuel my fire like the others. I decided to rate this a 3.5 stars. There were still some good qualities to Book three, and one of them was the sex. Now, it didn't have the intensity of Lilli and Isaac's sex life; but Show did well in the bedroom too! Susan Fanetti, I still find to be a very talented author, and her writing skills are top quality no matter what she decides to write about!
I still adore this series, and I can't wait to continue on to book four! I have a slight detour first; but I will be diving right back into the town of Signal Bend as soon as I get the chance! I am so very glad that my GR friends pointed this series out to me, as I would have been missing out on an awesome series if I had never given it chance.

There were still some good qualities to Book three, and one of them was the sex. Now, it didn't have the intensity of Lilli and Isaac's sex life; but Show did well in the bedroom too! Susan Fanetti, I still find to be a very talented author, and her writing skills are top quality no matter what she decides to write about!
I still adore this series, and I can't wait to continue on to book four! I have a slight detour first; but I will be diving right back into the town of Signal Bend as soon as I get the chance! I am so very glad that my GR friends pointed this series out to me, as I would have been missing out on an awesome series if I had never given it chance.

We meet Shannon, B&B's new manager. She has been hired to assist Lilli as she has extensive experience running a hotel. Her time in Tulsa provided a background that would work well for Lilli's needs.
It is during this interview with Lilli where Showndown and Shannon meet. It was in passing... however... both seemed to feel something...an attraction or connection of some sort...
This is a love story... it is a coming together of broken people and how both of them can help each other if allowed. There was so much heart to this story; there were times where I could not see the screen through the tears I had clouding my vision.
This book is not fast-paced... it is more of an internal development of both characters and patience is needed...but the pay off is huge. The chemistry in all of these books is off the charts...scenes are written so well...it was no surprise the coming together of Shannon and Showdown was equally as strong as the times with Lilli and Issac.
Life happens and all we experience make us who we are...the good, bad, horrific and beautiful...it is up to us to figure out how we are going to allow all of it to impact us...and hopefully, we are strong enough to recognize what is important and that is what we hold on to...This is a story about all of that and it was done extremely well.
This was a bridge book for the series... more is to come...

4.5 "I Love You, Show" Stars!
I do believe this is my favorite book thus far in the Signal Bend series. I'm a sucker for angst and a tortured hero. Did I mention I love Show?
**This review will contain spoilers for books one and two so proceeded with caution if you haven't read them yet.**
Show is a shell of a man. After the tragic death of his daughter Daisy at the hands of drug lord Ellis, his wife Holly leaving him, taking Rose and Iris with her, he's just fumbling thru the days. He finds relief in his whiskey and hasn't returned home since that fateful day...
Shannon is hired to run the local B & B. She's got ghosts from her past she's trying to outrun and this sleepy little town is perfect to stay off the radar. A curvaceous red-head, Show barely acknowledges her. She's interested in him but it appears he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. She makes it a goal to make him smile...
Out of all the books thus far, this is light on suspense and violence but heavier on angst. I found myself so empathic for everything Show sacrificed the past nine years of his marriage...and then to lose it all in the end. It was very emotional...I'm a sap, but it made me cry.
Towards the end of the book, the angst lessened and I found myself getting a tad bored...thus the drop to 4.5 stars but this is still a series I will follow thru till the end. We continue to see the build of characters for future books. Bart and Riley appear to be the next H/h. Can I put in an order for a Badger and Adrienne? There's my vote. We get to catch up with Lilli and Issac and I was happy to get a bit of a break from those two honestly.
Looking forward to the next installment due out in March...I hear.

Thank goodness Susan Fanetti decided to take pity on her readers because I was an emotional wreck after Behold the Stars. This book might be more aptly named, "After the Storm," as it shows the town of Signal Bend enjoying a time of peace and revitalization after nearing destruction. Nobody deserves a happy ending more than Showdown Ryan.
Showdown lost his child—his entire family really—in the most gruesome way possible. He has spent the better part of a year inside a bottle, numbing himself to any emotions. Along comes Shannon, the new manager of the B&B. She’s beautiful but reserved, and accustomed to nice things. Show isn’t her type at all but she is drawn to him.
Shannon sparks something inside Show and he puts up a good fight trying to deny his feelings. He is more comfortable being empty. I wasn’t desperate for Shannon to make him see the light of day as much as I was pulling for Show’s happiness. If that meant getting the two of them together then I was all for it. Watching Show’s gradual resurrection was alternately heartbreaking and moving.
The book fell short of 5 stars for me primarily because I never fully warmed to Shannon. She holds back too much of herself and I thought Show deserved better – a stronger woman who gives him 100% of herself. Fanetti’s writing, however, is impeccable as always. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. We’ll see how long the calm lasts.

This was much, much easier to swallow than book two, thank God! Even though Show has lost so much and is in a really bad spot mentally, this was definitely a book of healing, both for Show and for the town and the Horde. And if there was ever a man that needed healing, it would be Showdown!
I've loved Show from the beginning, when he proved to be the voice of reason for Isaac the hotheaded president of the MC.
"Show had always been Isaac's strong right arm. He'd never had to lean himself. He wasn't sure he knew how to lean. But now he wasn't sure he could stand, either."
I think that made his ordeal just that much more atrocious and hard to handle. Show is such a good person. And as a mother, as a wife, as a human being, my heart broke for him.
I don't blame his wife for doing what she did. I would have absolutely been in that same dark place. However, things that come to light about her and the way she treated Show during their loveless marriage did not endear me to her at all. Show took his marriage vows seriously, to the point of near misery. Do I admire him for staying? Sure. Do I think he should have? Questionable. Sixteen years is too long to live with someone who won't even try to make you happy; in fact, actively tries to put distance between the two of you.
"I can't believe you stood for all that. I can't believe you stayed."
He shrugged. "I made a promise. The vows don't say 'in sickness and in health or until she won't fuck you.'"
In that case, Holly was a complete and utter bitch. And the way she tries to keep her kids away from a loving father just seals the deal. You don't use your kids as chess pieces, especially when it's to the detriment of their mental well being. That's not being a good mother.
Shannon is the new manager's of Lilli's Bed and Breakfast and I liked her okay. She has a couple of tstl moments but nothing over the top. For the most part, she's levelheaded and relaxed. Her biggest plus is that she falls head over heels for Show in a lovely exhibition of insta love-lust.
"His eyes were light blue and sad."
But when she puts herself out there and Show turns her down, she doesn't wimp out and quit living, nor does she chase after him. I despise when women go begging after a man that says no. "He made her feel special. And then he'd made her feel worthless..." Not case here, and I admired her for that. She made Show realize how much he wanted the sexy redhead with the pinup body.
"She had no one of any kind of permanence in her life. As if she were coated in Teflon, every friendship, every romance, hell, even her family, seemed to slide away and leave not a trace. There was something wrong with her."
There's just something about the way Show loves little Gia so completely that melts the heart. When he calls her "little diva" because she demands so much attention, I had to smile every time. And when And my heart broke all over again.
I love how these books have all been completely different so far...I never know what to expect, and it doesn't get old. I have to admit that Badger has a special place in my heart...the other guys haven't been big enough players for me but I'm guessing if anyone can make them heroes for me, Fanetti can!

****4 Second Chance Stars****
By now I'm completely enamored with this series and I will not stop until I read every single one of the Signal Bend books. I feel such pleasure and get such a high when I read about the Night Horde MC that I kid you not, I've been wearing my motorcycle boots for the past few days, I guess I'm hoping Isaac will come and take me away in the back of his motorcycle. Susan Fanetti's writing is so good and her words feel so real and engaging that I can't help but to feel this way, it's exhilarating!!!
In previous books we had met Robert "Showdown" Ryan as The Night Horde' s VP. He lost everything that was precious to him in the worst, most painful possible, he's now going through life as an empty shell of a man. He works, he drinks but he is completely numb, until one day he stars to notice Shannon. She is the manager for the new Bed and Breakfast Lilli open in town. She is beautiful, sexy and very smart; she's completely dedicated to her career but she doesn't want to ignore the feelings she gets every time she's with Show.
" You looked at me in a way that felt...it felt like my heart started up again."
This book just like the others is told from both POV's, which I loved ,because we get a clear picture of what both characters are going through. Into The Storm plot is a little slower than the two previous books. The situation in the town has calm down significantly and so we get a book that is mostly centered in the relationship between Show and Shannon. There's a lot hurt in both their pasts but Shannon is hiding a really big secret , so the element of surprise is always present keeping you on the edge of your seat.
I couldn't rate this book five stars or more like the others, simply because I'm still too caught up on Isaac and Lilli, but other than that this was an amazing addition to the series and I can't wait to read more...

Into The Storm didn't disappoint. I couldn't wait to read Robert Showdown's story because he'd experienced the most heartbreaking and horrific loss that had left him a broken man. I needed to know who was going to help him break him out of that shell of man he'd become. Shannon was an awesome character. Very independent and strong woman who took charge and acted on her crush on Show. It wasn't easy. Their back and forth banter and their slowly progress towards something more was wonderfully done.
They both had baggage and getting to open up took time. I enjoyed them dating and how Shannon was patient with Show getting him to acknowledge that there's nothing wrong with wanting more in life. Letting Shannon in. Confide in her and being vulnerable. Falling in love.
Shannon also had her secrets and I liked how the tables had turn and Show was now the patient one who was there for her whenever she needed to talk. Their chemistry was amazing and Show definitely had some skills in the sack. He made up for lost time.
Isaac and Lily were still very important to the story but it's especially their friendship with both Show and Shannon that I loved. It was great to watch them through their eyes.

I absolutely loved this story. It is a second chance at life and love for Show and for Shannon. He was at rock bottom when they met, and had no hopes for digging out. And what he went through with Holly was so infuriatingly tragic. Not just with the loss of his little girl, but even before, with the empty shell of a marriage he’d been enduring for 8 years. Honestly, this man was practically a saint in a bikers kutte.
And Holly… don’t even get me started. Selfish and bitter. And why? This was a good man. And honorable, loving and faithful man. She didn’t deserve him. She never deserved him. And he DEFINITELY deserved better.
He could not believe he’d once thought he could live the rest of his life without this. Then again, he hadn’t known anything quite like this before.
And then with Shannon, her past was a mystery. And it was quite obvious that it tormented her. This was a mystery that Show felt determined to face with her. It was all about trust. He was ready to give it, but her reluctance to take it would almost ruin everything.

And then the storm came…. talk about a life altering twist of fate. I was totally unprepared for this.
“We were out here with Edgar the first time I felt the thing that became what I feel for you. The love. I don’t know if you remember, but for me, it was here. You were teasing me about knowing how to braid a mane. You looked at me in a way that felt…it felt like my heart started up again.

Such a well told story. I just love this author. Her writing skills, her character development, and he ability to weave a great storyline. This is definitely a series to take notice of. I highly recommend these books. If you like a great MC romance with high intensity action and steam, look no further.

“No. Nothing to see.”
She blinked and her eyes cleared and opened fully. “That’s not true, Show. I see kindness. Strength. And sorrow.” One hand slid from his neck, and she put her fingers over his mouth and through his beard. “When I look at you, I can feel you. I don’t know why.”
I just finished and it will probably be a few days before I do a full review but overall I liked it!
Into the Storm is a very different book then the other books in the series. The first book, Move the Sun, was very sexy and almost erotic. The second book, Behold the Stars, was much grittier and showed the darker side of MC life. Into the Storm focuses on Show and Shannon and is basically a story of redemption. This book focuses much less on the MC/biker life and readers looking for that traditional MC fix, may be disappointed because of that. There's not alot of raunchy sex, over the top violence, or club drama.
I liked Into the Storm but I'm not sure I liked it as much as the other books in the series. Did I miss a little of the raunchiness? Maybe. But while it may have been less gripping, I thought the overall story was beautifully told. I was a big fan of Show's before I started this book and am an even bigger fan of his now. Show simple ROCKS.
Susan Fanetti is such a gifted story teller. I love that she's written such different books within this series. She's definitely not a cookie cutter author, she doesn't have to rely on one certain forumla for each book. Her writing is solid, her characters are well developed and consistent and she always leaves me looking forward to her next release. I'm hoping that the author lets Badger mature and turn into a bad ass a little bit and then we get this story =)

3.5 Moving On Stars
Even though this one had a different feel about it, I still enjoyed it.
Loved Show and all of his alpha possessiveness.
I wasn't so keen on Shannon's storyline. But Show coming to terms with all those tragic events made up for it....
I like the style of writing too with these books.

Is impossible for me not to like this book because I know Show intimately since Book 1 and after what happened to him in Book 2, this man desperately in need of his own HEA. For me, as long as the heroine is passably okay, I will definitely enjoy it. Surprisingly, Shannon turned out as quite a catch and I warm up to her even quicker compare to Lilli.
Even with Signal Bend currently experiencing some downtime with some peace and quiet, I never felt bore at all. In fact, I felt invested on Show and Shannon from beginning until the end. Apart from that, Isaac and Lilli's strong present in the book also boost up my interest. I love catching up with the lovely couple that went through hell and back.
Shannon is the new manager hired by Lilli to manage her B&B. She was doing a really great job with the business and successfully hold a few wedding receptions to bring in people into the once sleepy town. She got some really great help from Badger and Show too. Signal Bend is also slowly thriving from all the media attention since the event in Book 2 and even targeted by the Hollywood! The Horde and Isaac is trying to control the real story from leaking out to the media.
Show had been living in hell since his family departure and drowning himself with booze and keeping everything to himself. However, despite his pitiful state, he managed to catch Shannon's attention. The woman had a big crush on the reclusive Show since day one and keep trying to get him to open up.
"You look at me like you see something."
"I do. I see kindness. Strength. And sorrow."
I enjoyed seeing the heroine making the moves on the guy for a change. Despite being a little forward, she still manage to maintain some dignity and not being totally shameless about it. Way to go, girl!
Initially Show was being a total douche to Shannon and the poor guy might be even thinking he is too old for this romance shit. He is fifty, I guess? But when he finally manage to come around and realize what a great chance he is having now, things got really nice and sweet. He can't believe he is having a second chance at finding love again after all those years of heartache.
I have nothing to complaint about the romance department, I totally love it. The sex scenes were always freaking intense, every moment felt so meaningful.
Is Signal Bend series getting better and better, or am I being totally biased because I grew to love the lot of 'em? I don't know, but I'm now totally committed myself to finishing the entire series. There is such a big changes experience by the town and its people since Book 1. I can't wait to see what Signal Bend will face next.
Next up is Bart's story. Honestly, my anticipation level for his story is pretty low because I felt like I don't really know him beside being the Horde's hacker. Nonetheless, I heard some pretty intense shit going on with Isaac there. I'm mentally preparing myself for it.

I’ll keep it brief since there’s already loads of reviews.
Show is fabulous.
But honestly I wasn’t keen on Shannon. She knew about his past yet pushed for details while giving nothing of herself away. And then when it all came out...talk about OTT.
I wanted someone stronger for Show. Someone who deserved him.
But instead he got Shannon.
I had intended to finish the series but now I’m just not sure...

Into the Storm (book 3 in the Signal Bend series) focuses on Isaac's best friend and Horde brother Show. Show was left (after the second book) empty and broken over the loss of his family. He has managed to roam the earth for two years drinking, sleeping, and working his days away. He is an empty shell of a man.
Shannon entered the world of Signal Bend as the new Bed and Breakfast Manager. She is polished and sophisticated and strong! Shannon is interesting and not afraid to go after what she wants. I found her willingness to just go for it an inspiration! What better match for the illustrious Show? Show caught her eye the first time she met him.
In turn, Shannon makes every effort to catch Show's eye.
Despite Shannon's very best efforts, Show doesn't seem to notice her. After a few awkward tries, Shannon decides to move on. She even rekindles on old flame for a saucy weekend but it just doesn't do the trick. Then one night Shannon finds herself in the Horde's Clubhouse. She's had a few drinks and before you know it.
Once the deed is done, Shannon feels so full and content. Then the morning after leads to a walk of shame for poor Shannon. Show, no surprise there, if full of fear and loathing and flees.
It takes Show about two seconds to realize what a horrible mistake he has made. He gives it all he can to woo Shannon back. Show is such a likable character. First of all he's Isaac's best friend (any friend of Isaac is a friend of mine let me tell you!). Secondly, he has been through utter hell. Thirdly, his ex wife is just such a biatch! For Show to have found a second chance with Shannon is nothing short of a Christmas miracle!
“You ask me what I want. You. I want to be good for you. I got some things to work out before I’m any good for anybody.”
Eventually the relationship begins to develop. Shannon is obviously hiding a secret from Show. Show is so patient and loving. Despite his willingness to divulge everything to Shannon, he never pushes her to do the same. He simply accepts her for exactly who she is! Show has to work through the demons from his past. He has to face the demons of his present. The movie producers are in town stirring up trouble. The Scorpions are watching everything very closely. Things are once again intense in Signal Bend. Shannon's secret is revealed. Yet Show and Shannon make a way.
Overall, Into the Storm was another 5 star read for me. (It wasn't the same as the first two books (Isaac and Lilli....nuff said). Although the action was a bit tamer than the previous two books, Show is an amazing hero and I believe Shannon was a perfect match for him. I enjoyed reading their story. I highly recommend this entire series to anyone who likes a good alpha with a lot of passion! FANTASTIC read! The ending was so sweet. Isn't that we will all crave for? Just a sweet surrender to another world! Bravo Ms. Fanetti! I will forever be married to my kindle and trolling for books that you write for immediate download!

Into the Storm was the third book in Susan Fanetti’s Signal Bend series. It picked up a year from the last book, Behold the Stars, and elaborated on the aftermath. Those previous years were dark, troubling and disturbing.
Signal Bend and the Night Horde MC were still recovering from the devastation and loss that occurred in their small town, but they were beginning to thrive. However, Showdown “Show” Ryan, the VP of the MC, had lost more than most and was now a ghost of the man he used to be. He was still loyal to the town and the MC, but he was aloof to any new attachments.
Shannon was new to Signal Bend and fortunately missed the big shootout. She was brought in to manage the Bed and Breakfast owned by Lily (books one and two). She was attractive but we learned very quickly she was on the run from something, but it took the entire book to find out from what.
I liked the back story. I also liked that it wasn’t the same destruction and violence from the other books in the series, but it was based on healing and rebuilding. There was some drama, primarily through Shannon, but it was more suspenseful and not of the same evil vein as previously. For my safe friends, you’ll want to skip this one. No spoilers, but it likely won’t meet your criteria.
As for the characters, I loved Show. He had an underlying strength and honesty that was appealing. However, I didn’t connect as well with Shannon. Her personality was not one I cared for. I didn’t jell with her so part of me wanted someone better for Show. That said, it was just my personal preference, but was still a well written and enjoyable storyline.
Alone on Earth is next in the series, focusing on Bart, the MC Intelligence Officer, aka hacker. However, I may venture over to Nolan first, a stand-alone focusing on Show’s daughter Iris. Either way, I can’t lose!

4.5 Stormy Broken Stars
I am so in love with this series! I want to jump into the pages and take up residence in Signal Bend. While it was Isaac and Lilli who got me hooked, I have to say that "Show" might possibly own a piece of my heart forever.
After the horrific tragedy that stole Show's life...he is nothing but a broken shell.
Over 6 feet of beauty and wisdom...and no one to share it with. Nothing left to give. His losses are his burdens to carry and not a day goes by that the guilt does not consume him.
Oh but Shannon Bannerman...she sees so much more that just his outside brooding beauty.
Newly residing in Signal Bend, her past skeletons locked up tight, she is a fresh, smart beauty who has found herself captivated by the dark, brooding MC VP. Running Lil's new B & B is an easy fete compared to that of getting Show's attention! She is not ignorant to his story...but if only he would "see" her...she would open up his world...

Here I got an amazing love story with two people completely worlds apart. I got to see broken hearts heal, stone cold walls crumble down, and passion ignite hearts to beat in sync.
This wasn't a smooth meet, have sex, fall in love kinda story. Show and Shannon still had that grit to them...still an air of hardness all around, but I loved the emotions that Susan Fanetti brought to the table! I honestly couldn't do this book justice with my review...just READ IT. Fall in love with the Horde and watch these men fall...it is an amazing ride!
