Rejecting her almost destroyed him.

Lachlan McLeod has always done what's best for his pack. But everything he believes is tested on the eve of his wedding when he finds his fated mate, rejecting her might just kill him.

Winning her back might just be impossible.

Katja Jones was young when her mate rejected her. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and she's not going to let a male define her. When McLeod trackers begin sniffing around, she easily evades them, until her own bravado puts her in Lachlan's path once more.

Can they find their way back to each other?

Taking Katja prisoner might be ill-advised, but with enemies lurking around every corner, Lachlan has little choice if he wants to keep her alive. Can he convince Katja to forgive him before it's too late?

Luna is the enticing first book in the McLeod Brothers Trilogy. If you like paranormal, captive romances with strong female leads and sexy alpha males, then you'll love this captivating new series by Lorelei Johnson.

Lachlan rejected Katja, when he found out she's his mate the day before his wedding day. Katja, is hurt... but, mostly angry at the situation he's put her in. She is now to be an Omega, to be used and abused by the pack or she'd have to leave and live the life of a rogue. Lachlan has waited and searched for his mate for centuries, he agreed to a marriage of convenience with the daughter of another pack for strength and protection.. he never intended to have to hurt the one person he was supposed to cherish.

3 decades pass before Katja comes across Lachlan again. Lachlan never married the wolf he intended, she fled the night before they were to wed, as she also had met her mate. But, to save face... her father still formed an alliance with Lachlan and his pack. For 30 years Lachlan has searched for Katja, and drank himself into a oblivion... regretting his mistake every day. Katja has become a fierce little rogue. With the help of her pseudo father, who trained her and taught her all the ways to survive... she's kept her head above water and stayed clear of Lachlan... she's been successful in evading his search for her, she could never forgive what he did.

I really liked this book, there are a few typos... but, for me, it didn't take away from the story. Katja is strong, resilient, steadfast... and loves with all her heart. She didn't allow Lachlan to get away with what he did... and Lachlan, however cocky, understood where that put him. Lachlan is an Alpha.... so, he's not going to get on his knees and beg; but, he will do everything he can so she can trust him again... So she sees how much he regrets how he treated her, even if he takes is whole life. I look forward to reading the rest of the Trilogy, "Luna" is definitely a good start to the series and I cannot wait to read about the other brothers... I highly recommend reading this book, it's entertaining, steamy, action packed... with a bit a mystery and romance.

Their meeting didn’t go as planned she hasn’t forgotten his rejection, her heart won’t allow her to forget the pain of it breaking with plans to marry another to join packs, and forgiving him isn’t on her agenda. Lachlan isn’t giving up on his mate it has taken him several life times to find her only to lose her in a second and thirty years later fate has given him another chance but a very hurt, bitter, unwilling to forgive out of a sense of protection of herself, will she forgive him, can she forgive him, will he show her that he isn’t the same man who rejected her so many years ago, will he show her he is willing to make it up to her, will he show her he can be trusted, and can they find happiness?.

Lachlan, the alpha of his pack has reluctantly agreed to marry the daughter of the Dalton pack to strengthen their numbers against the McKinnon pack. He’s over 600 years old and does t think his mate is out there or even alive. On the eve of his wedding, he catches her scent, their eyes lock and he has to make the biggest decision of his life. Claim his mate or reject her for the good of the pack! Great storyline and wonderful characters.

I very much enjoyed reading about Katja and Lachlan. This definition made me look at lycans in a different light with their ability to be immortal so to speak after a certain length. It was steaming and action packed. And I’m anxiously waiting to hear more about the McLeod bunch and Merida. All in all a great read.

Wonderful lycan adventure with great characters, action, humour, sexual tension, deceit and intrigue.
Lachlan gets way more than he bargained for in his fated mate and bad timing. Katja becomes a powerful female from the rejection and a lot of trials and revelations needed to bring these two strong characters together somehow and the adventures that ensue make a very enjoyable read.

Alpha male finds his fated mate just a day too late. Rejected for the good of the pack, the heroine leaves and makes herself into a strong and resourceful female lycan. When these two get back together mate chemistry can't keep them apart, but a crushed heart can...for a while at least.
I enjoyed this story and the characters. I would have liked for them to shift/fight more rather than just talking/thinking about how they can. I have to say I was having a hard time with the alpha expecting her to just be ready to take him back with no apology or groveling. There was a lot of thinking things, without verbalizing. I would have been very disappointed if he hadn't said something to her to let her know he felt bad for hurting her. I liked the open end for the next story. Anxious for the next book.

LUNA is the first book in The McLeod Brothers Trilogy and we learn about three different packs - the McLeod Pack, the Dalton Pack, and the McKinnon Pack.

McLeod and Dalton form a merger with Lachlan marrying (not bonding) with Victoria, the alpha's daughter. He is over six hundred years old and hasn't yet found his mate so he does what is best for his pack. Unfortunately for him, part of the retinue is Katja, an eighteen-year-old wolf who is his mate. Lachlan does the unthinkable and rejects her. Not prepared to become an Omega, she runs away. Lachlan finds out the very next day that Victoria won't be his wife after all, but by then, it is too late. Katja has gone. Thirty years pass before they meet again but Katja shows she can hold a grudge.

This was a sweet and sassy story with Lachlan trying so hard and Katja making him work for it every step of the way. When she falls, she falls hard, putting herself in danger to save him.

I loved the relationship between the brothers, with both of them making me laugh. There are hidden secrets waiting to be discovered by the end of the book, and the epilogue will definitely leave you wanting more.

A brilliant start to the series and I can't wait for book 2. Absolutely recommended by me.

It’s a little bit of everything in a perfect story!

I love a fated mates story! This had an interesting spin. This starts around the rejection of their bond followed by how that impacted their lives. Add on the intense emotions of if they could recover and if they could win each others trust back made this book really good. Add on that he is an Alpha and has a pack to take care of. She gets stronger as she goes which was awesome to read.
Their chemistry was soo good and the spice, definitely good spice🔥.
I look forward to more from this series!.

This book was so good! Katja and Lachlan are such great characters, and their journey to their HEA was full of mystery and resistance. Lachlan hurt her once, how can she trust him not to do it again? And they do have some great scenes, and some steamy scenes, of course. Lachlan is gruff, a little rough around the edges, but he cares deeply for her and he regrets that he hurt her. Katja has spent their time apart making herself strong, so that no one can hurt her again, but she has some great moments of vulnerability, too.

Aside from our main characters, the McLeod brothers are excellent. Finn has some bloody excellent lines that had me laughing out loud, and the dynamic between the three of them is great.

Another great read from Lorelei Johnson. Can't wait for book 2!

Ooof, gruff Scottish werewolves? Yes please. Lachlan is one of those grumpy alpha types that get me in the sweet spot, and I love Katja as his counterpoint, since she is just as feisty and hot-headed as he is. She is also a woman who own her sexuality, which I love, and she has some cracker lines. I'm intrigued by the werewolf society and look forward to finding out more about it in the subsequent books, with the rival clans and the rogues and the hints at other paranormal creatures in the wings. I also love Lachlan's brothers and I'm excited for them to have their own books!

Lachlan, the male lead and Alpha of his pack, has agreed to a political alliance with the daughter of a neighbouring pack, as a third pack threatens them both. His brothers aren’t happy that he’s not waiting for his fated mate and he is horrified to realise his fated mate, Katja, the female wolf shifter lead, is part of his fiancée’s pack on the eve of their wedding. Needing to do what’s best for his pack, he rejects his mate, only to find his fiancée has abandoned him for her own mate. And that his own mate has disappeared.

Katja, only 18 years old, is mortified to find herself rejected and leaves, rather than be reviled and abused in her pack. She is found by a kind Rogue (lone wolf) who adopts her as his daughter and teaches her to survive.

Thirty years later, she happens to be in the area and drops by to visit her best friend. Lachlan finds her trail and tries to keep her with him. Now he just needs to convince her to take a chance with him. But Katja’s not convinced - after all, his fiancée left him; he didn’t choose Katja…

This story is mainly lead character POV, with a few antagonist POV chapters and an epilogue with the female I hope will be the lead for the next story. It is well written, and complex and interesting with a genuinely resilient and persistent female lead. I enjoyed Katja’s growing strength and her determination to be valued and chosen for herself. I enjoyed Lachlan’s years of pursuit but I wasn’t fond of his bottle solution nor the lack of an actual explicit apology to Katja - even at the end of the story, I didn’t feel he’d actually SAID he was sorry. I enjoyed the intimate scenes and the building tension, given the biological pull between the characters. I enjoyed the end and I appreciated the final ending for the antagonist. I also enjoyed the epilogue, giving a glimpse of the next main character and I am definitely looking forward to that story.

YES!! I love it when they don’t auto forgive someone for damning you. Make him work for it! Make him grovel *insert evil laugher here* This is when I don’t like heroes. How dare he reject his mate knowing the future she would have to endure because of him. He didn’t even try. Unleash your inner villain Lachlan! But I digress.

Spice level (1-5): 🌶️🌶️

Katja had just turned 18 when she met her mate. At his wedding. To another. It was to forge an alliance between packs. Katja is concerned how the packs will merge now. Then he straight up rejects her. Damning her to a life as an omega to be used and abused by the pack however anyone saw fit. Refusing to let that be her fate, she flees the pack as a rogue. When the wedding doesn’t go as planned, Lachlan is left brideless. And he just ruined his shot at happiness with his mate. Can he get her back?

I would recommend Luna to all shifter romance readers. If you love wolf shifters, fated mates, rejected mates, forgiveness, second chances, protective/possessive alpha, wolf packs, captive/captor, brothers, some spice, you’ll love Luna. I don’t recall any trigger warnings or content warnings to report except mild violence and alcohol abuse. To the die hard fans of PNR second chances this one is for you!

Warning: Reading Luna may make you make men work for it. May make you want to learn self defense. May make you want to be a bad@ss she-wolf. May make you think about your home’s security system. May make you want to pour yourself a drink. Read responsibly.

This was such a different read to Johnson's other works, and I loved it! There was a little mystery, a great level of spice, and the characters! The brothers had a great dynamic, each of them has such different personalities but they get along great together. I can't wait to read all their books!

Lachlan is grumpy and rough around the edges. He puts his pack first, even when that means suffering for it. He doesn't grovel for Katja's forgiveness, instead, he tries to coax her to open up to him, and his remorse for rejecting her is clear. He was put in a difficult position, and he had to live with the consequences of his choice. I felt like this was really true to his character and to the situation. While he regretted hurting her, he knew he made the right decision for his people, and I can't really fault him for that.
Katja is a complicated character. She's strong because she's had to be, and she's had to live with some painful memories and live as a Rogue. But at the heart of her, I think she's vulnerable and in need of someone who can truly love and care for her. The fight between her instincts and holding onto what she thinks is strength is clear throughout the book, and while she was hurt by Lachlan's actions, logically, she knows the reason behind it all. I like how gentle Lachlan can be with her, and I like that the choice is hers and that she comes to realise that she can choose to hold onto a grudge or she can choose to be happy with him.

This is a very character driven story and I just loved these two from start to finish. If you're looking for a man who grovels for making a bad choice for a good reason, this isn't for you. But if you want to see two characters navigating a difficult path together, healing old hurts, and choosing happiness over past grievances, then I can't recommend this enough! Also, it wouldn't be a Lorelei Johnson book without some cracking one liners!

Lachlan has spent 600 years looking for his mate. He gave up hope. Now he is on the verge of his political marriage to save his pack. Upon his future bride’s arrival, he senses his mate among her pack. He must reject his mate to save the future of his pack. He needs this alliance. So he does the unthinkable and rejects his young mate.
Katja arrived in Scotland from England. She senses her mate upon arrival. It is unheard of the find your mate at eighteen. Then she learns he is alpha of the pack and destined to marry another. Her alpha and his daughter will be disappointed about loosing the alliance. But he is her mate. However, Lachlan rejects her. She swears never to see him again. She will not stay and become a lowly omega with no future. She runs away with the help of her friend. She will become a rogue wolf.
Lachlan’s marriage doesn’t happen the next day. His future bride run away with her mate. Now he can be with Katja, his true mate. But he can’t find her. He spends thirty years looking for her.
Great story with lots of drama, intrigue, being unforgiving, strong female, humor, chemistry, stubbornness, danger, seeking forgiveness, and bonding. Look forward to the other two brother’s stories.

Second Chances

Lachlan thought he was doing what was best for his pack by merging his Pack with another through marriage. He never imagined he would meet his mate the night before his mating ceremony. Nor did he ever imagine he would be strong enough to reject his Fated Mate.

Katja was young when her mate Lachlan rejected her causing her to flee and live as a rogue. As the years went by Katja learned how to be strong, confident and independent. She loathe Lachlan with every fiber of her being.

When their paths cross 30 years later Lachlan does everything in his power to prove Katja to give him another chance but now that rumors are circulating about Lachlan finding his mate his enemies are now lurking in the shadows so they can use Katja to get to him.

Lachlan has his work cut out for him. Not only is he trying to win over the mate he rejected but he also has a Lack to run and a hostile mate to keep safe. Time is running out and Lachlan's enemies are getting closer. Will he win over his mate in time all while keeping her and his pack safe or will he lose everything?

This is the first in a series and introduces the three brothers Lachlan, Edan and Finn. Lachlan thought he was acting for the good of his clan when he rejected Katja as his mate. Whilst this was truly horrible it was probably the making of her.

The politics between the three clans results in some nail biting action. Which interlocks with the turbulent courtship of Lachlan and Katja.

Excellent first book in a new series. The characters have real depth and the story grips you from the very start.

So, Lachlan made a decision that was the best for his pack but very horrible for his personal life and Kayja. When her mate rejects her, Katja decides that she is not going to stay where he was and she disappears for the next 30 years until Lachlan finds her again. The world building, characters, and interactions in this book will keep you invested in the story and what happens next. Looking forward to the next story.

I loved ths new shifter romance, I don't have a lot of these types of books in my library but I'm so happy that this is one of my newest addition to it. Fated mates and rejected mates is something I've come to really enjoy reading about. I highly recommend checking out this book. 10/10.

For wolf shifters findings your mate is supposed be the best day of your life. However, when the alpha heir is trying to do what he thinks is beat for the pack and rejects his mate to form a union with a different pack... who can blame the fmc for going rouge and despising him years later when their paths cross. Will she give him a second chance?

Brilliant! I loved how it started and you have so many questions, which slowly get answered. Then you have more by the end! I cannot wait to see how the cocky brothers fare going forward (I'm keen to read the next one too, Rival)
There are still questions to be answered, more to find out and it's clear that this isn't the end.
Go and enjoy: I did!
