Love on Tap: Fragile Hearts #4

Wanted: Tender Daddy

Rate this book
Some hurts change the course of your life forever, but with the devoted attention of an older Daddy, can a boy become comfortable enough in his own skin to hold on tight to the life he deserves?

As the last boy left from the original crew of waiters at The Tap Tavern searching for his Daddy, Archie’s filled with nervous excitement. And a little dread. Okay, he’s scared to death. He’s never been able to get past the kissing portion of a date before he tenses up and ruins everything. What man is going to want to deal with that? Maybe it’s time to admit that what happened to him as a pre-teen has broken him forever.

Detective Hutchinson, Hutch to his friends, has decided that he might as well just live for work. After years of searching for the perfect sub, his tastes have changed, leaving him clueless to what he wants or whom he’s searching for.

When their paths collide, Hutch is intrigued by the brave young man who doesn’t realize how strong he is. Archie is infatuated with the older man, but knows he can’t possibly hold the attention of someone so capable and put together. Honestly, he wouldn’t even know where to begin.

Can Hutch convince Archie that his innocence isn’t the deterrent he thinks it is, and that he would be honored to give him the tender loving care that he needs?

Welcome to another heartwarming story from The Tap Tavern, where this new Daddy is willing to roll up his sleeves and put in the work to prove to his boy how very special he is.

Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.

These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.

The guys from the Tap Tavern have happily intermingled in all these stories, but we first really got to meet Archie in the third book that was Fischer and Marcus's story. He had time to grow some and work through his load of trauma caused by his abusive aunt. Now the "Wanted" sign for a "Daddy" is his... but he believes that he has found...all on his own, HIS "Daddy"...the "Tender perfect "Daddy" that is just for him.

Hutch is a detective that works with one of Archie's fathers. He and Hutch first meet when Archie sheltered three children from a gun fight taking place in a neighborhood where he had gone to deliver a birthday gift to a lady for her dying husband. Thinking of everyone but himself is just who and what Archie is.

I loved the way that Hutch handled Archie...the patience...the tenderness, and the care that Hutch displays, along with the trust, and love that Archie has, simply blended together to give us a glimpse into their lives and the lives of so many other characters from this intertwined series.

The stories in this series are all fairly short, straightforward and sweet. If you are looking for a lot of steam and a ton of sex...you won't find it here. It just wouldn't fit well in these stories in any way, shape, or form. There is one more story that I'm starting, that of Levi and Christian...then every one of the Tap Tavern guys will have found their "Daddy".

Archie and Hutch’s book is amazing!!!

I have really been looking forward to Archie’s book for a long time. I adore the Takoda Outreach series and was suuuuper excited when Archie appeared in this series. I cannot express how perfect this book was. So often when you wait for a book with a favourite character your expectations become really high (often unfairly so), but despite the fact that I probably had crazy ridiculous expectations, Sammi still managed to exceed them by light years! Poor, sweet Archie - I don’t mean that in a, he’s been through so much, poor him way. Yes, Archie has been through a lot and yes he has had to put in some crazy work to process that trauma. And yes, I wish he hadn’t had to go through that. But for me, what really broke my heart was how helpless he felt because of what was intended as love and care. I love him as a character because he’s so strong and so compassionate, so I have to admit I wanted to shake quite a few characters in this book over their attitudes. I was maaad guys haha. So when Hutch came in and saw Archie, really, truly saw him I was so, so happy (I may have done a little seat dance lol). The way Hutch was with Archie was so perfectly written. He understood that care and love for someone also means checking that your feelings aren’t overwhelming the other person’s feelings. You can be mad/sad/scared/protective but those are your feelings and it’s okay to feel them as long as you manage and deal with them without allowing them to swallow up someone else. I love that Hutch was able to remind himself of that, to check his own emotions. He didn’t stop feeling them, but he understood that it wasn’t right to make them more important than Archie’s. He was such a safe space for Archie and so much of that was because of that. I still maybe am holding a grudge against some characters. I know they meant well and I love them still, but they’re definitely on my naughty list (and not in the fun way). I was also really happy to see a certain someone start to come out of their shell a bit more (and I loved that they were on Archie and Hutch’s side). I have a feeling their book will tie for favourite with Archie’s, so I’m already super excited. I can’t wait until the next book as I just know it’s going to be as amazing as this one (and really, the whole series/all of Sammi’s books!!!).

I loved this story and the gentle way that Hutch started by being impressed with Archie and then how he stuck up for him pointing out that he was an adult and not a child. Hutch was so gentle and understanding taking things very slowly so that Archie could build up his confidence by being touched or intimate with him firmly in the driving seat and controlling everything. Hutch was just my hero for his loving care of Archie. Easy to read, feel and understand. This MM story contains a BDSM-like DDLB relationship and mention of past child abuse.

Sammi Cee seamlessly blends her Love on Tap series with the Takota Outreach Center to bring us Archie's story in Wanted: Tender Daddy

I have been waiting for Archie to get his HEA since we met him in Fisher & Marcus' story - Fisher - the third book in the Takoda Outreach series. He's grown and worked through so much trauma and finding a patient and understanding daddy is his next goal...

I love Hutch and Archie together - the patience, tenderness and care that Hutch displays and the trust, love and impatience that Archie has blend together to give us a gives us a glimpse into the lives of so many other characters from these intertwined series!

This is a pretty straightforward story and a sweet one... if you are looking for a ton of steam, you won't find it here - but honestly it wouldn't fit this story in any way, shape or form...

I'm also enjoying the tease of our next pairing from the Tap Tavern - Levi and Christian!

Archie gets his Daddy

Oh Archie. What a sweet and sad man. We’ve seen several other boys at The Tap Tavern get their daddy and Archie has been patiently waiting for his turn. Daddy Hutch was just perfect for him.

Both Hutch and Archie walk around believing they are broken for different reasons. Hutch can’t figure out what direction in love life is supposed to go in and Archie feels like his past defines him. I felt for both men. I absolutely adored how understanding, patient and gentle
Hutch was. He was so considerate of Archie’s past, while not letting it get in the way of building something new. Sammi Cee really gets it right with this one.

We get to visit with the past boys of the series and speculate some more about Levi and Christian. I am really looking forward to the story. Tender Daddy was beautifully written. I am really enjoying this series.

Oh man, this book hurt my heart. I loved Archie and Hutch together. Archie longs for a Daddy but he never thought it was possible until a tragic event puts him in Hutch’s path. Hutch has felt like something was missing in his life but that came to an end with one glance at Archie. These two are perfect for each other but their relationship has some ups and downs however they are able to work through some issues and get an HEA. I can’t wait for Christian and Levi’s book next!

I received a free e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

**Trigger warnings**
Archie more than deserves his HEA after everything that he has been through and Hutch is the perfect Daddy that he has been waiting for. Patient, understanding and so caring in meeting Archie's needs and limits.
Hutch comes into this having been unsettled in his personal life, not having anyone or any aim for what he wants but when he meets Archie at a crime scene, something switches on inside and he can't help the draw he feels to the younger man. My heart has gone out to Archie ever since meeting him in the Takoda series and he's grown into such a caring and compassion man, mostly from the influence of his fathers and also his strong, protective nature. Here he struggles with how others treat him, as though he's weak after what he's been through but he more than shows how capable and grown he is with the incident at the beginning of the book and how he takes on this new relationship with Hutch, something he didn't ever think he'd get the pleasure of experiencing. I especially love Hutch's plan that allows for them to move forward and know how Archie is with every interaction they have.
This series continues to have a great cast of characters and found family who are linked through the Takoda Outreach Centre, friends, family and experiences. I cannot wait for Levi's story after having him open up a little bit more here. Another wonderful and emotive read in the series that's highly recommended. Hutch is the perfect Daddy that Archie needs in his life, allowing him to stand independent but also be cared for and loved on.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

It takes place a year after the last book which I think is weird even with the explanation I like that it doesn't just have his sex fears just magically disappear when he meets Hutch. This book does have mentions of past sexual abuse of a child which I usually don't read this book wasn't as bad as I worried going into it fearing is would be intense with the abuse

Hutch and Archie ! The Tap Tavern.
Archie, 24, a smaller man, looks younger

than his are, is a ginger with green eyes, freckles and a sweet face, a virgin, works at the Tap, where LGBTQ and Daddy/ boys are welcome, and the LGBTQ charities run by his adoptive parents, Marcus and Fisher. Also adopted with him was his younger brother PJ. PJ's best friend Joel was always around, too.
Hutch, 37, 6'4", a big muscled police

officer, a Detective, an ex-Dom who has changed from BDSM, which no longer interested him, and now is considering Daddy/boy options.
He owns Ruby, a big, fluffy black cat.

His work partner is Alexi and her wife, Juney, who are having a baby soon.

Archie witnesses a shooting, and Hutch arrives on the scene. Hutch takes the redhead's statement, and realizes that this is Marcus, his boss's adoptive son. How can he be attracted to Archie?
Marcus is super protective of Archie and PJ. Their journey has been a tough one.
Hutch keeps getting in touch with Archie, to see that he is okay, and let him know the case's progress.

Archie is tired of being treated with kid gloves like a child, and dares to spend time with Hutch, and they truly click. Hutch is tender and caring, and we find out Archie would like to work for the charity stores.

We get the fun of watching these two men tell their stories, hang out together, begin a slow burn romance, and fall in love. Marcus and Fisher must learn to let Archie have what he really needs.
The characters are interesting, and the story feels so real, we can't put it down. We see Hutch and Archie introduce each other to close friends, and parents, too, of course, as Marcus already knows Hutch.

When the time comes their passion is fiery.

I highly recommend this series.
ENJOY !

This was the best in the series for me. I really loved Archie's relationship with his dads but also his journey of really learning what he needs and wants.

Archie has a history of sexual abuse and it's framed his whole life. He and his brother ran away from the abusive situation and were homeless for a couple years before being adopted by their dads. When it's finally his turn to find a Daddy, his struggle with sexual intimacy is at the forefront of his mind.

Now I could've done without the "oh no I'm broken" and 'ill never be normal" rhetoric but as a whole, I really enjoyed this one. I loved that they don't rush into anything. I adored the use of safe words outside of a bdsm relationship. I loved how sex was a plus but not a necessity for both of them.

There is one explicit scene in the whole book, and it's only a very short mutual masterbation scene. If you get the bonus story, there's another explicit scene but it's still catered around Archie's triggers and doesn't include penetrative sex. It really just allows Archie to exist without having to reach a standard of "normal".

Big CW for sexual assault and childhood abuse. While it doesn't happen on pages it's a huge theme throughout and Archie's experience has affected his life dramatically.

Judging by the five-star ratings, I must be reading a completely different book. A book that is not at all what was said in the blurb. I'm seventy percent through the book and there's no daddy, tender, or otherwise. There's a detective, a former dom. And there has been almost no interaction with the other MC (Archie) yet. So far, they have touched (non-romantically) once.
So what happened in the previous 70% of the book? Archie rants about his trauma. Constantly. The narrative does not develop in any way. It's still the same few sentences about what happened. Over and over.
Almost the entire rest of the book was filled with characters from previous books. They remind me of cockroaches or maybe termites. They do not contribute to the plot, they just crawled into the book and slowly ate more scenes from it. Lots of names, and lots of "we are so cute" scenes, but those scenes usually go nowhere.
And the rest of the book is populated by Archie's adoptive parents, who are embarrassingly overprotective to the point that they come across as completely unrealistic parodies of the characters.
If you (like me) were looking forward to some age-play, you're out of luck until at least 70 percent of the book. Just the old boring, artificial stuff again.

This may be the standout of the series. Archie and Hutch were really great and great together. I loved how Archie’s story was handled and how different people responded to his past in different ways. I also loved how the intimacy issues weren’t solved in a day but given real care.

I think the main detractor here is that Archie never really resolved his situation with his friend group nor his parents. Sure, Cameron gave a brief apology and Archie said he could never stay mad, but Archie never had the talk with them about what’s been going through his head. Instead, Archie wanted to keep the thing between him and Hutch away from his friends and parents. Archie never even had the conversation with his parents about saving those kids. That didn’t feel right to me.

On Hutch’s side, yes he was a bit too perfect, but that’s sort of the fantasy with this series. I wish Marcus and Hutch had more interactions.

Lastly, there were just a bit too many characters and relationships here that we’re supposed to follow and pay attention to. It’s getting a bit too much to try and interweave this connected universe.

4.25 Stars!

I loved Archie and Hutch's story. I liked that Archie was determined to find himself a Daddy, even when everyone around him was worried that he wasn't ready yet. Hutch is the perfect partner for him. I loved the support and patience that Hutch has and that he helps Archie use his voice and start going for the things that he wants. Archie is incredibly brave and proves it again in this story. I'm glad that he found Hutch, even if the initial circumstances were not ideal. I was happy for Hutch too. It was clear he was at a loss for what he wanted and need in his personal life. His attraction to Archie was unexpected, but very welcome. I loved that even when Archie's family and friends are unsure of Hutch, that once they see them together they can see that they are right for each other.

It was great to see the characters from the Takoda Outreach series again. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I have been so curious about Levi and seeing him open up a bit more in this book just left be wanting more.

I'll rate this a bit higher because Archie tugged at my heart strings. The fact that . I liked that Hutch was very gentle and willing to take a long time for Archie to be comfortable with physical intimacy.

I think this book is connected to another series as all of Archie's friends outside of the bar were people I had no clue who they were, including his two dad's who adopted Archie and his little brother after they got away from his aunt. However I really felt for Archie. Everyone treated him like a fragile little child when he was living on the streets at 14 or something incredibly young and surviving there. He was tough and I was really happy to see him finally stick up for himself and make his family and friends realize he wasn't so fragile and could move forward in his life.

So a couple of hot buttons for me that just let me skim over the stuff I didn't understand get from his life on the other side of this series.

One Tender Daddy Coming Right Up

Archie needs a Tender Daddy and Hutch needs a boy who he can coddle and take care of. Will they work out? Of course, after Archie is able to get past his fears of intimacy. But Daddy Hutch has an idea that will give Archie complete control and help him feel safe. Being in the BDSM lifestyle for years Hutch grew tired and wanted something new and different. When he meets a sweet redhead on a call one afternoon he wasn’t prepared for how he would be affected. Both Archie and Hutch couldn’t get over the other and end up spending time together. When Archie accidentally tells Hutch he’s looking for a daddy Hutch is one hundred percent on board. Little by little Hutch draws Archie out. This is an adorable story about a Tender Daddy and a boy who thinks he’s broken. A 5 star ⭐️ read. Please be mindful of the trigger warning in the beginning of this book.

ARCHIE!!!!!! I am in love with the person he’s become and how hard he’s worked to be the man he is today. And now I must squee about him finding the perfect, or perhaps it’s purrfect, Daddy.

“I’d never thought a lot about being in love, but as the days went on, I recognized it in this man, and I’d do everything in my power to hold on to this, to him, to us.”

Yep, these two are perfect together. I absolutely adore how Hutch sees Archie for the man he is and treats him as such. I also adore how patient, kind, gentle, understanding, sweet, and above all, respectful Hutch is with Archie’s needs and wants. And I love how wholly and completely Hutch immerses himself into ensuring that Archie can be himself—and I think we all know that Archie is amazing. I needed this book in my life and I need this series in my heart.

I loved this book. I've been waiting for Archie's since forever and it was worth the wait. Archie has such a tragic history, he has a bit of a hard time putting his past behind now that he is in a better place, but he doesn't let stop him giving his best and being a good and positive person. Those closest to him tend to be overprotective because of his past and it drives him crazy. In comes Hutch, a detective that arrives at the scene of a crime that Archie witnessed and is immediately taken by him. Hutch seem Archie, really sees Archie. He seed part everything to the man that Archie really is and even though he was to cover Archie and keep him protected from the world, he holds back and let's Archie be who he truly is. These two just worked. They were the balance that each needed and I loved it. This story was so worth waiting for.

Amazing

This book was so good and amazing to read. It was so nice seeing Archie finally not being so babied tho I do understand why everyone did. I'm glad hutch was able to see through that and acknowledge that he was a grown ass man and at a even younger age he got himself away from a bad situation and lived on the streets for a time. I'm so happy for Archie meeting hutch. I 100% understood why he has issues with intimacy and sex, and I loved that hutch understood, helped him, moved completely at his pace, and even came up with a system to help them start, but I will say it would have been so nice to actually see them able to go all the way. I think that would have been the perfect ending for them. But either way such a amazing book I'm so happy with it. I would definitely recommend

Am loving this series about the boys from the Tap finally getting their daddy from a wanted poster.
Archie is a sweet, loving man who has had his fair share of abuse in the past. But he has grown into caring person. Archie has watched the others from work find their daddies but never thought he would have one who would understand him. When he witnessed a shooting Detective 'Hutch' came and saw him. Hutch stored something inside him that he thought was broken.
Hutch was part of the BDSM scene but left it a while ago, as he felt something was missing. When he first saw Archie he wanted to wrap him up and keep him safe and protected.
This is a beautiful written story I couldn't put it down.
Highly recommend reading the whole series as you get to know the other boys

I thought Archie's book would be angstier. But his caring and strength of character is evident from the moment he pulls two kids away from their bikes and shelters them in a doorway from a shooter. The problem is, no one, not his fathers, nor his friends, can see him as anything but a fragile personality in need of protecting.
Hutch sees Archie. And while he wants to protect him, he also wants to support him. And allow him the space to be the best person he could be.
I liked that Archie's fear of intimacy wasn't "solved" in these 202 pages. Worked on, a few set backs. Just like in real life. And maybe his HEA doesn't look like anyone else's, but he does get it.
Sweet. Just a touch rough to read.

Better And Better

This series gets better and better with each book. Archie works at The Tap as a server with the rest of the boys and helps out his Dad's at the Takoda Outreach Center and the thrift shop. While delivering a gift Archie gets caught in the middle of a shooting and afterwards meets detective Hutchinson who works with one of his Dad's at the police station. Hutch is a former BDSM club member but hasn't met the "one" yet until he meets a red headed, green eyed cutie and can't stop thinking about him. Archie has secrets but Hutch is willing to help Archie as long as he needs. This was a very sweet, low angst book with a tender Daddy. I highly recommend this series and can't wait for Levi's book next.

I adored this story, mostly because Hutch is everything every man should strive for. Patient, understanding, and willing to put in real effort to a relationship. This book is very low spice, but super high emotions. Archie is a damaged soul, but unwilling to let that take his life away. He puts in the work he needs to get himself to the point where he is ready for the emotional, of not physical, connection of a relationship. The interaction between Archie and all his family, and Hutch and his family, is wonderfully written and enjoyable. Just a knock-out of a story, and makes me all the more eager for Levi's story coming next.

Hutch and Archie own my heart!!! I have been waiting for Archie’s story because he is such a darling character and his book was everything I wanted it to be and more!!!
I absolutely loved that Sammi showed that love and intimacy is about so much more than just sex. Hutch and Archie are so sweet and wonderful together and together they work through the limitations that Archie struggles with in regards to being physical with people due to the abuse he suffered at the hands of his aunt.
I truly cannot recommend this book enough, it has absolutely taken up residence as my favorite book in this series and will be one that I read again and again.

A Daddy for Archie

We’ve watched the boys from the Love on Tap get their Daddy in turn whilst Archie watched feeling hurt and broken. Archie is amazing and gets his tender Daddy and a HEA with Hutch while we learn more if his horrific past - please see the author’s trigger warnings. They both show such strength and compassion even though I wanted to bang a couple of other characters heads together.

I love that Sammi seamlessly blends in the characters from the Takoda Outreach Centre, another fantastic series which Archie features in in book 3.

This isn’t a hot read, it’s slower paced, it will pull your heart strings and stay with you after.

I wish this book had a list of characters with short descriptions. I have read some of the Takoda Outreach books and all of the Wanted books, and I found it off-putting how Cee kept shoehorning in various characters who wouldn't been otherwise seen or heard from in this book. It was often unnecessary and confusing.

I also did not understand the issue between Hutch and Cameron. There was nothing really suggestive of an issue between them, then a conversation happens and it is somehow made clear that there *was* an issue, but there's not one anymore. I mean, okay? I feel like we missed a chunk of the story on that one.
