She Teaches Him #2

Taught Right

Rate this book
What happens when Joey, who just wants to be taught right, hires Ava, who knows exactly how to teach him?

Joey Jacobowitz thought practice would make perfect. He figured if he kept trying, he’d eventually figure out what satisfies women in bed, but it hasn’t happened yet. After his most recent attempt walks out on him right in the middle of the act, Joey decides he needs help. What he needs is someone like Ava.

A lot of people see sex-work as shameful, but Ava honestly loves her job. She makes good money and gets to have lots of orgasms, but what’s she’s missing is a man who sees her as more than a dirty little secret or one night stand. Her connection to Joey is instant, and Ava’s calming energy finally gives Joey the space to really open up. What starts off as a lesson to be taught right, soon turns into something more than Joey and Ava bargained for.

Tropes: One-night stand, she teaches him, sex worker, short and spicy.

The title and blurb say this book is about a woman teaching a man how to be better in bed. But what actually happens in the story is more like fated mates where he’s just magically good bc she magically makes him feel safe. There is no actual teaching.

Also, I really really wish I could read a sex worker romance where the sex worker doesn’t have to quit their job just to have love or a date.

this gets 2.5 stars. my main issue with it was that it wasn’t even a teach me trope and it was totally advertised as it. which was disappointing. good smut and quick read though.

Allora la storia parla di lui che si rende conto che non hai mai soddisfatto una donna in tutta la sua vita e va da una sex worker per farsi insegnare. E fin qua, figata, no?

HFN
Standalone, interconnected characters from book 1 with a bonus chapter about book 1 characters

Joey is so bad at adult time he literally had a woman walk out on him in the middle of the act (book 1). He tells his best friend who tells him to hire someone to teach him. Ava is a s.worker who never had problems separating herself from her job. Until Joey.
This short story is for those over 18 that can handle steamy content with spicy language.

Book Review
Title: Taught Right by Rhianna Burwell (She Teaches Him Book 2)
Genre: Novella, Erotic Romance
Rating: 5 Stars
I was immediately laughing at realising the Joey in this book was the one nighter that Emma walked out on in the first book after she thoroughly destroyed his ego. It turns out that Joey is aware of how bad he is in the bedroom but he doesn’t have the faintest idea of how to make himself better. I really appreciate that Burwell made Joey aware of his problem and normalised men discussing their issues with each other and it’s Joey’s friend, Jeremy who gives him the idea about hiring a sex worker to teach him the finer points of pleasing a woman.
He is eventually set up with Ava, who wouldn’t normally take on new clients this way but since Joey was referred to her by someone she has known for a longtime see agrees. From the second Joey walks into the hotel, Ava knows he is so nervous and wants to do her best to make him feel at ease. Before heading up to the room, they talk for a little bit where Joey confesses that he doesn’t know how to please a woman and this doesn’t faze Ava since she knows that most men don’t and not many are like Joey, that are open to taking instruction.
Like with Emma and Finn, there is an immediate attraction between the pair that is only heightened by Joey’s eagerness to please Ava. While Joey does maintain a lot of control in the bedroom, he responds to Ava’s every instruction with enthusiasm which only furthers Ava’s pleasure. Joey gets to experience pleasuring a woman for the first time and loves it storing every bit of information away for later. By the time it is over, Ava is conflicted since she wants to see Joey again outside of the hotel room and he does too but she isn’t sure whether to do it or not.
When Joey asks her on a date she agrees and agree to work through her chosen career with each other rather than just demanding that she doesn’t do it anymore. Overall, I really loved Taught Right but I can’t wait to get into the third book since this is following Jace, Finn’s younger brother and his female best friend and friends to lovers is a genre I am completely weak for.

The premise of the story has promise. But it’s poorly executed.

Joey can’t fuck. After having a woman get up and leave in the middle of sex he hires a professional to teach him how to fuck.

He’s nervous and embarrassed, Ava is the professional and willing to help him for his money. The lead in for the sex starts. And oh no! She’s catching feelings(after what seems to be a maybe 30 minute interaction.) I’m just saying, you cannot turn a hoe into a house wife…the sex starts and for someone who “can’t fuck” and needs help she only give him one piece of advise for the entire interaction, and magically he’s able to make her cum x2? The dirty talk is good if you like praise with degradation. But the description of the sex is pretty unspicy for spicy content. And it’s a personal preference thing I’m sure, but his “I’m going to cum in my pants because I just made you cum with my mouth, so I need you to not talk so I don’t because your voice is sexy” thing is annoying.

And we end with a HFN? Why? Let fucking be fucking, we don’t need feelings. We did not get something with “spicy novella” in the title for a love story, we got it for the sex…

In 74 pages we get backstory of conflict, solution to fix the problem, meet up, sex, feelings, and a “can I take you on a date?” HFN ending.

I’m sure this novella/story checks all the boxes for many people it’s just not for me.

Another short, enjoyable, steamy novella!

⭐️= 3.5
📖= 3
🌶️= 3

-Inexperienced, adorably nervous MMC
-Understanding, confident, sexy FMC
-Sex work positivity & safe sex🎉
-Communication
-Vulnerability and trust
-Dirty talk
-Praise with a light sprinkling of degradation
-One night
-Dual POV
-HEA

Similar to the first novella, there’s not really any teaching which was a little disappointing. More about connecting with someone, finding what they like and enjoying each other.

The FMC does take control in some of the situations, dominance kinda ping-pongs back and forth which is nice, but I would’ve liked the FMC taking more of that control and teaching exactly what the MMC needs to know… yknow?? — Blurbs are a little misleading that way

But despite that, it’s a great read, realistic smut, and not over the top

I absolutely love Ava (FMC) — She’s confident without being cocky, she’s sexy, vulnerable, and totally open, calming and just so easy to love

Joey (MMC) is nervous and adorably embarrassed due to his situation, but once he gets into the grooves of things he’s *chefs kiss* 💋🤌🏻

He’s definitely a fast learner

Great characters that are easy to connect with

Loved the bonus chapter that connects with the first novella

Definitely read this if you want 70% smut and a quick, sweet read!

Short novelette about a guy who isn't good at sex, so he ends hiring a professional. Good, Great, Right ?
So they meet at a bar and when they get to the act, all of a sudden the guy doesn't need that much learning because he is not bad at it ?
Like, girl, get a grip !  How are you as a pro who gets hired for sex, falling in love with this guy after like 30 minutes or an hour.  (realistic, much)

Another thing which was unrealistic this guy had a woman walk out on him because he was bad but with our FMC he knows how to dirty talk and makes her come back to back with minimal guidance (be freaking for real)

This book picks up right after Emma slams his bedroom door after telling him she’s not going to finish. Our MMC Joey really thought he was doing a good job. Now he’s facing up to the fact that he just doesn’t know what he’s doing. He opens up to one of his closest friends and he recommends hiring a Sex Worker to teach him the ropes. He ends up hiring and meeting up with Ava and the connection between them is undeniable.

First thoughts, This author really knows how to tension build in a short amount of time! I’m always at the edge of my seat until they get to the good stuff. This was a fun and fast paced read. I loved the strong connection between Joey and Ava. Also I love how we’re low key still following Emma and Finn in the bonus chapter!

I realized after getting into the first page that Joey was from the first book. The book started off mentioning Emma’s name and I was like wait huh? Only to realize this was Joey’s story now lol. I really love the way Joey was honest with Ava. He knew he had something to work on and although he was afraid to admit it to her, he knew he had to because of the situation and I think that just made me like Joey even more. He was able to fix what he was looking to be better at while finding love with Ava. And the fact that they were able to find a way to work around being in a relationship and her work, that was definitely it for me. Taught Right? Definitely.

Short 73 page spicy novella that I devoured in under an hour. I feel this couple had wayyyy more chemistry than the first book in the series. In the first book Emma the mfc was in the middle of fucking Joey when she walks out because he wasn't going to make her cum. The second book is Joey hiring a sex worker (Ava) to teach him how to make women cum. I only rated it 3/5 because Ava didn't do much to teach him. All Ava did was tell him what felt good. Which makes me wonder if his previous encounters had just been vocal he wouldn't have had a problem. Also him saying "Who's is it?", had me giggling and kicking my feet. That live stream was pretty hot. Spice level is 1.5/5 there's nothing too extreme about it but it is more than vanilla sex.

Sweet baby Jesus was this hot… yall remember Joey from book 1 where Emma got up and left in the middle of… not fun time…. Well boy oh boy did he deliver here with Ava !
I had to ask myself at least 2-3 times “is this the same Joey from the first book??” lol!!!
Ava definitely taught him what he was missing but he also shocked me because there was one thing he already knew… that dirty talk of his wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Definitely check it out I literally read this in an hour.. I lowkey wish it was longer :(
I’m definitely reading the others in this series and I hope you do as well!

These novellas are exactly what's on the tin: men want to be better at sex, women set out to teach them, HEAs ensue. They all follow the same formula,

Now, does this mean they aren't a fun read? Absolutely not! As a collection of short and spicy stories, these are fun, just expect exactly that: short fun stories that benefit from not overthinking it.

Is this the same guy?

It’s shocking that this is the same Joey that was in book one. He’s asking to be taught because in the last book, Emma said he didn’t know how to.
So he goes sees a sex worker but who taught who? She doesn’t teach him anything that he already knows. Only time he’s vulnerable in bed is when he’s going down on her. That’s when he asks for help.
It’s a 2.5 stars from me so I rounded it up to 3 stars. It’s spicy for a fast read but she taught him little to nothing

for me

This book is great. The smut is banging, especially the bonus chapter 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. So good. Love this series. Short and spicy. I can’t give the book a five becuase this book does have a little plot and I would have loved the ending to be tied up a little more. But it was good. The plot was good. The smut was amazing. Overall if you want a short and spicy read I would recommend this. 4/5

I love that this book continues from Emma leaving Joey in the middle of the sesh and he decides to put effort into becoming a better lover vs what he had been doing all along, which was wasting the time of many women. You don’t get better by increasing the number of notches on the bed post, and that’s shown here. Ava was a total smoke show and I love how she was thrown off by Joey - book 1 had me thinking he was lame, but he totally redeemed himself!!

Joey needs to learn how to have sex without disappointing his hookups. So he goes to sex worker, Ava to learn how to please a woman.

This one was hot too, but I wonder why Joey all of a sudden was a master at s*x when he shows up to learn from Ava. Is it because she is the one? Wasn't sure why he went from having a woman walk out rather than finish to being able to make Ava come on the first try and also they had amazing s*x?
