A fun ghost paranormal mystery series by Paranormal Investigation Bureau author, Dionne Lister.

When a farmer goes missing, then turns up dead, the wrong person is suspected and jailed, and he happens to be a good friend of Finn. Can Avery, with the help of her ghostly and live friends, discover the real murderer and bring them to justice, or will she die trying
?

Mr Donigal, a local farmer, goes missing. Avery's curiosity is piqued because she'd seen the old man arguing with someone on the main street the morning before he disappeared. The night he disappeared, she saw him arguing with someone else at her friend's pub. Which is the last time anyone sees him alive. The problem is, the person arrested for the crime is Alfie, one of Finnegan's good friends.

The deeper she digs, the more potential enemies of the victim she finds. It's looking more and more like Alfie didn't do it. But the evidence points to him, and Sergeant Bellamy won't be swayed.

Used to solving crimes with the help of her ghostly friends, it's a different prospect when Finn and Carina offer to help Avery. She's desperate, so she accepts. But including live people means there's more at stake. And when Avery and Finn break the law to try and find Mr Donigal's body, the threat level jumps up to extreme, because whoever killed him doesn't want him to be found.

Will they find the body and new evidence, or will they die with nothing to show for their troubles? One thing's for sure—Avery's not ready to cross into the next world, and if a lightning strike couldn't kill her, she's determined mere humans won't. Hopefully, she's right because she's the only chance an innocent man has of walking free.

I love reading and writing. I'm a mother to two teens and two Siamese cats. I've got an associate degree of creative writing and am a full-time author. I write paranormal cosy mysteries with heroines who are quirky, kind, and love to right wrongs and get justice. I also love to make people laugh and give them an awesome escape, which is why I tell stories.

A Fallow Grave is a pretty good book with the usual mix of living and dead characters, a crime to solve, and Avery Winters able to solve it because she can see and talk to both sides of the here AND hereafter. The one potential difficulty is building a base in books 1 and 2 before you read book 3, but it's easily done at the start of a new series.

Again really enjoying this series!
I love Charles! So innocent but so helpful in this book!
This book was really good, the ending was unexpected but all makes sense now I’ve thought about it 😂
Not quite a 5 star but I think this may be my favourite in the series so far.

The one thing I found bizarre was the fact ‘jail’ was spelt ‘gaol’ throughout the book

A Fallow Grave is the 3rd installment in the Haunting Avery Winters cozy mystery series.
This time Avery investigates the disappearance of a local farmer and a friend of Finn "Vinegar " is the main suspect.
Trying to clear his name and hoping to find the farmer alive, the 2 lay down the weapons and join forces.
But Avery needs to treat careful as she has some ghostly insider information...
Again, I love this well written and humorous adventure of Avery in the British Countryside.
She has settled well into her new surroundings and no-one is going to spoil it for her.
The character development of the main characters is well done and we're finding out more every time.
This book keeps you guessing and laughing at the same time.
