Danger throws them together. Attraction keeps them from parting.

Having lost her best friend, Courtney Davies lives every day like it’s her last. Because if life has taught her anything, it’s that some are cut far too short without warning. So when sexy former soldier Jason moves to Cradle Mountain, she shouldn't hesitate to express her immediate interest. Problem is, anytime she gets near the man, she inexplicably freezes, losing every coherent thought in her head.

In irrevocable ways, both physically and mentally. Slowly, he’s moving on, running Blue Halo Security with his team in Cradle Mountain, Idaho—where one of the best perks of the small town is coffee shop owner Courtney. Will he be able to protect her from more than her fears …

I remember Courtney from the first book, a sweet kind Miss who freezes each time she sees the man of her dreams. I smiled her lot with her antics and fun persona.
She is a woman who followed her calling, once she realized life was too short to be doing what was expected from her instead of what she wanted in the depth of her heart. She is happy, her business is rising and she has made a real life here, even if she can’t speak two coherent words when in close proximity of gorgeous Jason. She won’t let a dent in the road, alter her path.
Jason like his brothers in arms has seen his life altered and his kin threatened, but he was able to leave his anger behind and is one of the kindest of his group. He is attracted to Courtney but difficult to woo a woman who got tongue-tied when she is next to him. But now she needs help, will she look at him differently.
I loved his patience and tenderness with her fears, even his “alphaness” when he is afraid for her.

A nice addition to this series, Jason is a kind and caring fellow and Courtney a lively woman with a lot of insecurities but a will of steel.

This series keeps getting better and better! I am truly blessed and happy to have received an ARC copy. I count the days for it so I can start reading it right away.

Nyssa Kathryn will never disappoint.

I will start by saying the Jason is an amazing man. He saw past the shy attitude Courtney had around him at first because she had a crush. I loved how he asked her straight forward why she became nervous around him. He wanted her and went for it. No why or questions about it.

I could feel Courtney fears and claustrophobia. Even though I have never had that issue, Nyssa does an amazing job on making us feel every single emotion the characters are feeling. That’s one of thing I really love about her writing.

Even though Courtney did not like to talk about her issues even with her best friend, she confided on Jason. Felt that connection and did not try to hide it from him. I liked that.

I can’t wait to read the next book about Blake. Those two are still so in love, but I understand Willow’s fear. She is afraid of hurting her heart and her daughter. But Blake loves them so much that it is not even possible for him to hurt them.

And Aidan? Wow! There are some secrets there and I can’t wait to find out what they are.

I totally recommend this book. I can promise you once you read the first book written by Nyssa, you won’t miss any other.

Jason and Courtney's story was so sweet and in so many ways. Courtney is simply just adorable especially with her shyness around Jason. He was determined to help her get over past and in doing so the friendship and connection they developed became so deep and intense.

Super Soldier Heaven!!

I knew when I read the first spin off book that I was gonna love Jason and Courtney together. There chemistry was explosive.

She gets tongue ties every time she she’s him but when she finds herself in trouble from an unknown source he is right there to protect her.

“I like that sound.”

“What sound?” “That beautiful laugh of yours.” Her limbs suddenly felt lethargic. “That’s the second time you’ve said beautiful in reference to me today.”

There is danger lurking around every corner. A slow burn love story in the shadow of Cradle Mountain.

“Yeah, I’m pretty head-over-heels obsessed with the guy.” She leaned farther forward, whispering, “But don’t tell him.”

the excitement….

The best friend and the brother…but not the same old trope we have seen before.

The inimitable Courtney is the best friend of Grace from the first book in the series (Logan in case you aren’t keeping up with the programme here..) and Jason is the brother of Sage who is with Mason from the Project Arma Originals (again….if you don’t know this where have you been!!!)

Honestly this book does read well on its own but you will definitely appreciate it more if you read Logan first and if you read all the original series too then you’ll truly be up to date and well versed in all things Arma related. .

Jason is all the things you want in a boyfriend, totally see’s Courtney and understands her, appreciates her quirkiness and is willing to put in the time and effort to let her get comfortable around him.
Courtney has all the feels for Jason but what she perceives as his perfection puts her in a tizz and turns her into a blubbering clumsy mess in his presence, I love how this was portrayed in the book.

Luckily a few steamy kisses get her over this and onwards we go.

Something from Courtney’s past come back in her life, without her truly understanding why and yet she finds herself in danger. Something the Arma boys take personally and jump in to protect their favourite barista. Obviously this may or may not also play into Jason’s plans to get closer to Courtney also.

I loved the storyline here, though there were elements of it I had guessed quite early, there were lots of elements that were more of a surprise to me right up to the end. The suspense and danger events of this story were well intertwined with the budding and developing romance and even the angst scenes were very in the moment and relevant.

The friendships amongst all the characters were true, especially between the Arma crew. A real brotherhood feel, and Grace and Courtney’s friendship was strongly relatable. I liked how the Grace betrayal storyline found more room here, and was brought to a nice conclusion for the wider group.
Willow found more of a voice here too which was nice to see and whilst I have my suspicions about her and Blake’s problems it will be great to see how this develops in the next book.

Another really great book, highly recommended read and author.

Beginning was good, but for intelligent people they missed a lot of signs!

It started of really well and I loved Jason and Courtney, as a couple. But then it got a bit silly, as they all missed glaring signs about people. It was annoying as they’re all intelligent and none of them saw the enemy.

Courtney has liked Jason for ages but has convinced herself that Jason is way out of her league. So every time she speaks to him she gets really nervous and tongue tied. When strange things start happening to Courtney it becomes obvious that she’s in danger, so she moves into Jason’s house. And of course they fall into bed with each other and in love. Which was a bit boring to be honest. There was no real spark, or hotness between them.

The danger could have been a lot better. Again it was over really quickly and disappointing.

It was was okay. That’s all I can say about it.

Ms. Kathryn continues to deliver!

Since the beginning of “Project Arma”, with Luca” novel, Nyssa Kathryn has continued to keep readers on the edge of their proverbial seat. She constantly brings suspense, thrills, unpredictability, and romance to each novel she has written.
Jason’s story is one I have waited for since meeting Sage, Jason’s twin in Mason’s novel, book 4 of Project Arma. Jason part of the “military testing”, as well as one who left the military to get his BS in Pharmacology, unwittingly helped develop and became a test subject for the “serum” used to “make” super soldiers. Yet, all this is past, supposedly, exposed, known about the project the participants are constantly hounded, deceived, and still are fighting for a sense of normality.
Jason’s story impressed me greatly, one wondered after Blue Halo book one, where Ms. Kathryn would go from there… But her imagination and ability to put into words her thoughts continue to surprise and delight readers. She simply continues to bring more to the table.
“Jason, Blue Halo”, the second in this series, yet the tenth book of Project Arma was completely new, different, and totally unexpected. Courtney is Jason’s heroine. She is not a writer looking for an award-winning story, not someone who was involved in Project Arma whether on the periphery or directly, Courtney is a woman who took her and her cousin’s dream and turned it into a reality.
Courtney owns The Grind, award winning coffee shop. Idaho’s Most Unique Coffee Shop, which ends up putting her in the cross hairs of something her cousin hid and ended her life. Courtney has a crush so bad on Jason, she comes across as a teenage girl when he is around. Jason is around frequently, as is the entire Blue Halo team, yet only Jason sends Courtney into stammering, an incontrollable mouth running off as if she is brainless. Jason is just as sensitive to Courtney’s reaction to him, just as he obviously cares for her.
Now, prefaced with the above, one can understand how Courtney somehow is in the crosshairs of the FBI and organized crime, while clueless to as why. The FBI, have their own agenda, the organization another, and Courtney is beginning to question what exactly happened to her cousin.
Jason, always aware of Courtney is who she seeks for help and understanding.
From here, Nyssa Kathryn takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride of her usual heart stopping chaos. Importantly, Ms. Kathryn does not just have action, romance, killing, and saving, she brings humor into each book she writes. Depending on the situation, dry and understated, blatant snark, or simple situational humor while the situation is questionable.
Nyssa Kathryn can continue keeping readers enthralled in the Project Arma men, even after moving past reclamation of the terrors left over from a secret government project to the realities of after the fact. Ms. Kathryn continues to bring to the table refreshing storylines, characters that worm into your heart, and thrills and suspense with HEA that keep readers coming back and waiting for her next book eagerly.
Nyssa Kathryn deserves 10 Stars for her writing! She does not fail to deliver or keep readers wanting more!
BRING on the book three, Blue Halo! Loved every moment!

A great second book in the Blue Halo series!!

JASON is the second stand-a-lone book in Author Nyssa Kathryn’s Blue Halo series about a group of super-soldiers who were kidnapped, drugged, then rescued in her earlier Project Arma series.

Jason Porter was former military and working as a scientist as a part of the larger experiment. For those of us who have read the entire first series, we know what happened, but in this book, Ms Kathryn does well to catch her newer readers up with the play. They’re kidnapped and held for two years. Experimented upon with the very drugs he’d been concerned about and forced to train. A regime that had it’s negative affects on all of those in the same predicament with him. Those with families who’d lost their father, brother, or husband, suddenly and without a trace.

We met Courtney, owner of The Coffee Grind in LOGAN, the first book in The Blue Halo series, and as a result of that plot, she’d suffered some lasting trauma that obviously carried over into this book, JASON, who is the huge hottie that renders her boneless and speechless, quite literally. She’s feisty and witty until he comes near her and then she’s a panicked deer in the headlights, and all sense of reason and coherence disappears. I thought it was cute, but it’s obviously not going to move the plot along a whole lot, and it took a dodgy lift to help them out.

Stuck in a lift in her building, it’s Jason who arrived to rescue her. It was the first un-jumbled conversation he’d ever had with her and the physically innocent chemistry between them was so strong that it gave me goose bumps. I just loved it.

As always is the case with any author who writes ongoing and interconnected series, to have the Gents from Project Arma, and their partners show up, was the icing on the proverbial cake. I’ve been entirely invested in those characters and to reconnect with them was just awesome. The big different for me in this series is that each book plot for our couples have been standalone so far, but no less suspenseful. What has changed up the flavour though, is that it isn’t a continual underlying plot that made up the revenge and resolution that the Project Arma team achieved. It’s just different.

All up though, Military + Hot Alphas + Suspense and feisty leading ladies = one hell of an epic 4.5-Star ride. It’s a great read!

Troy Duran is one of my top male narrators and I loved him for Jason and thought he brought out the character really well. Addison Barnes also does a great job with the quirky Courtney especially bringing out her left over fears from what happened in Logan’s book.

I liked how the Grace betrayal storyline found more room here, and was brought to a nice conclusion for the wider group. Willow found more of a voice here too which was nice to see and whilst I have my suspicions about her and Blake’s problems it will be great to see how this develops in the next book.

Jason.
Well folks here we are again, another one of Nyssa's books consumed and read in under 2 days (I know! It should have been less time, but work got in the way.. ugh adulting) I have learned when I start one of her books it consumes me from the first page and the next thing I know, the book is at 90% and I am trying to slow my roll to savor it, and Poof new book read and I am left feeling like I have to wait a life time for the next book.
Jason's book yep, went as expected. Read super fast and now I am left wanting more. Sigh... I absolutely love the easy going nature and how effortless Jason and Courtney are together. Their relationship feels effortless.  Their souls straight up recognized one another and there relationship was easy and natural and totally them!! Two sweet and amazing characters that just new that they were each others person. I loved it!!! Absolutely loved it!! I want a Jason. Hahaha.

-I love the character that is Jason. He is so easy going but his need and his desire for Courtney. Ooohh man. You need a fan. Because his Alpha side comes out!!
“Maybe it’s time to try something new.” He lifted a shoulder. “Life’s short. You don’t want to miss out on something that might be a game changer.”
~Jason

-Courtney I just love her. I love her fun little spunky side. Yes she eggs Jason on and I love it!! She is sweet and has a calming effect that helps Jason that is simple precious.
“Have you seen yourself ? You look like you belong on a magazine cover and you have these dimples in your cheeks when you smile that make my tummy do this weird flippy thing.”
~Courtney

I don't know how else to describe this connection. These characters just fit together it is natural for them, again its effortless. They tease and have fun with one another. I can see in future stories it will be odd to not have one with out the other where ever they go.
The story line is seamless, it flows so well and like I stated at the beginning. You are hooked and boom next thing you know the story is finished... From. The. Very. First. Page, sje does this! Every time! I always look forward to her next book!!

As the second installment in the Blue Halo series this book centers around Courtney and Jason. We met Jason in the previous series, Project Arma, as well as in the first book of this series, Logan. As for Courtney, she also had an appearance in book one as the owner of the small town’s coffee shop – The Grind, which the guys often frequent. Also, she suffered a trauma in Logan’s book that has had a direct impact on her and she now has to deal with the aftermath.

As with the characters in the author’s other stories, these two are matched well and complement each other nicely. Jason is her protector and gives her his steady presence, strength, and love. Where Courtney is his light, calms his inner alpha, and shares her bubbly easy-going nature and love. They make a really sweet couple.

For me, the book started a little slow and I was not really sure about the mafia aspect in the beginning, but the more I got into the story, I became engrossed and did not stop until I hit the last page. There were some twists and turns along the way to help develop the suspense aspect, including misdirect and betrayal. Also some lighthearted, funny moments for balance. Courtney and Jason’s romance started as a slow burn, but once that spark was lit there was no going back.

Overall, this was an exciting read and a good addition to the series. Packed with suspense, danger, mystery, humor, and romance, as well as a visit from friends from the Project Arma series (Mason and Sage). I’m looking forward to Blake’s story next ~ there’s a lot simmering between him and Willow and I have a feeling this second chance romance will be a doozy!

Blue Halo Book 2
*over 18 readers only*

3rd person PoV, Sci-fi Romance

Trigger warning
Kidnapping
Torture
DNA altering drugs
Claustrophobia
Mafia
Home invasion
Animal cruelty

Courtney's cute little coffee shop, The Grind, won an award right after she was rescued from her own freezer. A madman had stuffed her in it with the body of a dead journalist. Claustrophobia is her new sidekick from that experience. When she gets stuck in an elevator, Jason rescues her. He knows a thing or two about being somewhere you don't want to be. He had been captured and held for two years, tortured and drugged, turning him into a supersoldier. Strange things keep happening to Courtney, every since the news about the award went out. Jason and Courtney like each other, but the new receptionist at Jason's job can't take a hint to leave him alone. Then there's the creepy people that keep following Courtney. Ones who say they are with the FBI, and others who just stick out. Can Jason protect her when she gets flustered every time he's around?

This book picks up a month or so after book 1, but can be a standalone. This book starts off strange and gets stranger. By the time you get to page 137, you should have at least 2 suspects and 1 solid motive. And your chance at being right is less than you think. These books are more about the drama and the building or fixing of the relationship, and not so much about the sex. There is sex in the book, but it's not a focal point.

Jason
Blue Halo, Book 2
By: Nyssa Kathryn
Narrated by: Addison Barnes, Troy Duran

In true Nyssa Kathryn style, this second book in the Blue Halo series continues to ramp up the romance and suspense! I am so happy to have gotten Jason's story. After meeting him in Project Arma, and all that he has been through, he deserves to have his story told! Courtney is the coffee shop owner in Cradle Mountain. After surviving the events of Logan's story, Courtney is a bit gun shy, and understandably so. But that doesn't stop her from eyeing up the handsome Jason. If she could just talk to him without tripping over her words! Jason is handsome, smart and now packed with all the benefits of being part of Project Arma. Using them for good is what the men do now, but Jason never thought he would need them to protect Courtney! When Courtney's past comes back to haunt her with no knowledge of the problem, Jason is there and ready to protect her. And with him comes the others in Blue Halo. The cameramen of these men keeps me coming back for more. Kathryn's style of writing is right up my alley, and I am hooked on what is going to happen next. I love that each is original and easy to escape in. Bring on Blake and Willow, I am ready!

And there is nothing better than listening to Troy Duran and Addison Barnes! These two found their characters and brought them to life. Duran is the sweet, over protective man, ready to do whatever it takes to keep his woman safe and loved. Barnes is claustrophobic, tongue tied coffee entrepreneur and makes Courtney relatable. I loved this team!

Jason and Courtney

I have been waiting for Jason’s book since he first appeared in the Project Arma series. He was a loyal team member, a great friend and an exceptional brother, so it was only fitting that all those qualities bled into his relationship with Courtney.

Courtney has had a crush on Jason since the Blue Halo men arrived in Cradle Mountain. When she wins an award for her coffee shop and finds herself in danger, she finds out her crush isn’t one sided. Jason needs to make sure Courtney is safe. He’s fallen for the coffee shop owner and doesn’t intend to let her slip through his hands. Courtney and Jason’s relationship was sweet and happened at a pace that felt natural. They had amazing chemistry and great banter.

All of the men of Blue Halo were featured in this book, but I loved Courtney’s friendship with Blake the most. I loved that there were relationships outside of Jason and Courtney’s that were a big part of the story. From the camping trip with Logan, Grace, Mason and Sage to the moments in her cafe with Willow, Blake and Mila, there was a sense of community in this book.

There was a good amount of suspense in this book. There were quite a few twists and some were easily seen, but there were so many moving parts it was hard to decide who was on Courtney’s side and who was feeding information to the other side. Overall a good read and a great addition to the series.

I’m really loving how this series has brought new and unexpected problems to these super men. Courtney is in danger that she doesn’t know about, doesn’t see coming, and certainly never expected. Jason is falling for Courtney and has tried to remain friendly because he can tell he flusters her, but eventually he just can’t stay away. But do these two have forever ahead of them?

We get to catch up with Jason’s sister (Sage, who’s with Mason, from the first series), as well as Wyatt along the way this time around, which only serves to remind me how close these men are and why I love these books so much. Jason and Courtney also have incredible chemistry, even though it almost all goes sideways in a big and ugly way a couple of times. And oh, how I wanted to slap someone for the deliberate moves to make things seem something totally different from what they are! The sting of betrayals from those who should do better by friends and loved ones hurts, but it’s made a little better by the knowledge that all is not bad or ugly from all parties involved in this problem. Add in how Courtney works through the danger and the aftermath and I felt supreme disappointment when I hit the last page of this book. Now I shall wait for Blake and Willow because it’s obvious that there’s still a lot of love there, but also a lot of past hurt. I look forward to coming back to Cradle Mountain soon!

This is book 2 in the series, its technically a standalone but I would definitely recommend you read them in order as each book focuses on a different couple. I really loved the Project Arma series and was sad to see it finished but the Blue Halo series is shaping up to be just as amazing.
Jason was betrayed, kidnapped and experimented on as part of Project Arma, but he survived, and is now settled. Courtney moved to the town to set up a coffee shop after her cousins death spurred her to follow their childhood dream.
I loved how Courtney was always so tongue-tied around Jason, she was so confident in her business and friends but turned to mush when he appeared. It was so sweet. I also loved how klutzy and normal she was, it made it really easy to like her, especially after what happened to her in book 1. Jason was a protector, like all fellow teammates, and I loved how he confronted her about her feelings, but was also so sweet and gentile when needed.
This book not only let's you watch two great characters as they get to know each other, but also has a great suspense and mystery woven in. Someone is following Courtney, she has no idea who it is or why, and the unknown really did keep me guessing until the end. Jason does he absolute best to protect her, but they really don't know who they can trust.
Great little twist at the end. So looking forward to the next book!

The next book in this series starring Jason and Courtney, does not disappoint as these two finally take the next step in their attraction to each other. Courtney gets a bit tongue tied around Jason, she has no problems talking and joking with the other men at Blue Halo but Jason has her stuttering and ends up clamming up when he’s around. Jason is intrigued by the quirky coffee shop owner and is confused whether she is attracted to him or not but when he finds out that she is….all bets are off and he is all in with her. When she gets thrown in to the spotlight and wins an award because of her coffee shop, she garners unwanted attention from the mafia that has ties to her past and has Jason and the men at Blue Halo protecting her at all costs.
Sighing and swooning on my part was a constant during this read….Jason was sigh and swoon worthy a hundred times over and quirky Courtney with her colourful hair and bubbly personality was very lovable. I LOVED the no drama between them, the intensity, the trust and honesty then add in the steam (hot hot hot), the suspense, twist and turns, and a few surprises I didn’t see coming made it a read I couldn’t AND didn’t want to put down. Can’t wait for the next !!!

Jason is a former Navy SEAL. He and his teammates had been kidnapped and held hostage forcing them to be a part of experiment to create the perfect super soldier with enhanced abilities. They opened Blue Halo, an independent security company in the small town of Cradle Mountain, Idaho. Courtney is a sassy, quirky, fun loving gal that runs the coffee shop in town. She has a style all her own and is loved by everyone. She can strike up a conversation with anyone but when Jason is around she can't seem to string two words together. Can Jason get Courtney to relax around him and open up? When her little coffee shop wins an award that gets her all kinds of media attention, she attracts the attention of the wrong people and the FBI gets involved will she let Jason help her get to the bottom of this and keep her safe?

Another action packed story of intrigue and mystery. Kathryn creates a story and includes our favorite characters, adds some new ones, injects some steamy scenes, and has plot twists and turns enough to keep you interested but not lost. I totally recommend anything written by this author. Love her books!

I received a review copy of this book from the author. I am voluntarily leaving a review.

No, because I seriously can't stop binging this series. I am ADDICTED. It's nice to see clear differences between the main male and female protagonists of each book already. While Grace was more cool and relaxed, every interaction Courtney has with Jason in the beginning is hilarious because she is SO NERVOUS. Also, Logan was more quiet with his approach to getting to know Grace, but Jason is more outspoken in my opinion. More bold, dare I say?

I loved the romance, and the suspense was fun to figure out because I had three people I was suspicious of at like the same time. Jason's aid to Courtney's clumsiness is funny and had me swooning, and I bookmarked every one of Jason's catches to Courtney's stumbles (yes, I know I'm cliche). It was also really inspiring to see Courtney work through the trauma she had experienced in the first book, and how Jason occasionally aided her on her journey.

Having said all of this, I think the climax of this book was lacking a bit, especially compared to book 1. It still deserves a very high rating, because every other aspect was perfection.

4.5⭐

Note: WHY THESE COVERS??? WHY??? These books are so much better then their cover, it's tragic honestly.

Everything Nyssa Kathryn writes I enjoy and Jason is no exception but it just didn't give me the 'feels' as all her others books have - but that's OK! I think with the tease of Jason and the quirky Courtney in book 1, Logan, I expected something different in their story and not what we got.

I am a bit sad that the story line seemed to drift off into Mafia which wasn't really explored properly or finished well. I think the funny and clumsy way Jason and Courtney interacted originally got lost through the Mafia story and I wanted simply more of them and the characters of Cradle Mountain. I love the way new horizons have maybe been set up with Quinton House and hopefully this will bring some more interesting characters through Cradle Mountain but I am gutted we lost Joey to the cause.

Jason is a good book and it is great to spend some hours escaping to Cradle Mountain and it is worth reading. It simply isn't where I saw Courtney and Jason's story going but that doesn't mean Nyssa Kathryn wrote a bad story, simply she sees her characters interacting differently than I did - and you can't win them all!

I loved the author’s series, Project Arma , and this spinoff is just as good. If you are new to the series, it’s about a group of former Navy SEALs that unbeknown to them, were drugged and physically enhanced while held captive against their will. Now away from the military and all they suffered during their captivity by evil individuals, they have formed Halo Security. Jason Porter is one of those men.
Courtney Davis moved to Cradle Mountain to start a new life after the loss of her cousin and best friend. Her coffee shop is very popular and often the Halo men drop by. But only one of them makes her loose her voice and bearings, Jason.
As a relationship begins so does the danger surrounding Courtney. Why are they after her? Jason is determined to keep her safe, even if it will cost him his life.
The story was engaging from the first page to the last . The characters were well developed and the author leaves the reader ready to grab the next story in the series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Nyssa Kathryn does it again! Another home run in this the second book of the Blue Halo series of the Project Arma men. Jason is one of the team at Blue Halo. Like the others he has been chemically enhanced and suffered greatly before they were able to escape their captors. He has a crush on Courtney the woman that owns The Grind coffee shop.
Courtney has her dream. The coffee shop idea was something that her and her cousin used to dream about owning together. Unfortunately her cousin was killed in a home invasion. Courtney decided to do it herself. It is a colorful place that serves great coffee and other things. The men from Blue Halo frequent the shop, Jason being one of them. Courtney has a crush on Jason and becomes tongue tied when he is around. Is there any future for the two of them?
As with all of Nyssa Kathryn books when I start reading them I cannot quit. The story line is always more then woman likes man, man likes woman, they get together. We have had many different stories and each one of them is as interesting as the last one and this is no different. All I will say is why is the mafia in their small town and why is the FBI is chasing them? Enjoy this book I sure did.
I received this book as an advance review copy in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion.

This book was exhilarating.

This author writes such compelling stories. I was hooked from the very beginning. Actually, from the very first book in this series, since we saw then that Jason and Courtney had feelings for each other.

Their interactions were adorable and I loved how respectful they were to each other. They genuinely cared about one another and they made the effort to make things work between them.
She was adorably shy around him, yet she was driven enough to have pursued her calling and to work hard for her dreams and for the people she cared about.
He was sexily alpha, yet he was patient about Courtney's fears, traumas, and shyness.

They were mature enough to come foward about their feelings, likes, and dislikes, and they didn't play mind games.
It was refreshing seeing a couple have a healthy relationship.
Their connection came naturally and their feelings grew fast, but organically. They didn't need to push or force a situation, they just happened.
The way it was supposed to be.

Months after being locked in her work freezer with a dead body, coffee shop owner Courtney Davies still has flashbacks when she isn’t battling nerves whenever she’s around security expert Jason Porter. Little does she know there’s no worries there because Jason’s just as smitten and thinks her nervousness is cute while slowly inching his way deeper in her heart

Despite the coffee shop’s spike in popularity after a magazine article and Courtney’s visit on a local radio show, Courtney notices the leer from a man that asks invasive questions. That seems to kick off a round of unfortunate incidents including a visit from the FBI who seems as interested in Courtney as her inappropriate customer.

Barely escaping harm in both her home and business, Courtney wastes no more time and tells all she thinks, knows and feels to Jason. Courtney’s revelations raises the alarm for Jason and it takes practically no time for the team to surround Courtney with protection and a battle of wills begins with Courtney being tugged as the prize.

"You are so much more than enough. You are so much more than any man could even begin to deserve. Especially me."

Jason, Jason, Jason...I mean this man is chef's kiss perfection! He is all alpha male, over protective, big strong and musclely (I don't think that's a word but I'm going with it anyway). BUT he is ridiculously sweet, patient, and just a flipping marshmallow for Courtney! And Courtney...I just loved her! She is sweet, caring, loyal but with just enough insecurities that I just wanted to be her friend and give her a hug!
Ms. Kathryn did a phenomenal job developing these main characters individually, but also in their progression as a couple. Also, I love the side characters (Blake and Aidan I'm looking at you)! This book has everything! Ms. Kathryn gives us sweet romance, spicy steam, but also a "what's going on" plot line that keeps you on the edge of your seat! I cannot recommend this series enough!

Every single book this author writes is sensational and I look forward to when the next book releases. I am already looking forward to Blake releasing and I’ve only just finished Jason! 🤣

This story, like the other stories, has fabulous and interesting characters that are instantly likeable. A great suspense element with a mystery that keeps you wondering if you have guessed correctly. And a smashing romance that leaves you swooning and feeling all sorts of wonderful.

Jason and Courtney have such a fantastic connection in every way. I will admit, Jason is a dreamboat! 😀 Courtney is a vibrant, energetic breath of fresh air and they compliment each other.
I won’t spoil the story by mentioning any part of the mystery and suspense, except to say it was delightfully different in this book and a great change.

All I can do is recommend you read this terrific, very entertaining and enjoyable story.

Jason and Courtney are so good together they have had this chemistry for them beginning it’s just that she couldn’t seem to speak around him. Courtney isn’t a shy person at all, so the fact that she can’t walk with him is hilarious. But after the trauma that she went through in the cafe, he is helping her get over her fears which is an amazing thing and their friendship is developing into something more. Even more important than that she can now speak to him in full sentences, it’s a miracle! Lol Now we get all this sassy personality that goes head to head with him , which is what he needs in his life. Of course there is this new threat in her life that he an the whole team is protecting her from. So after all the rollercoaster of experiences then end up even closer together than they were before. They were meant for each other. I love them together, they got their happily ever after. I can not wait for Blake’s book it is going to be amazing!

Jason is the second book in the Blue Halo series by Nyssa Kathryn. This is a spin-off series of Project Arma. Although you don’t technically need to read PA first, it does explain how the men at Blue Halo got their enhanced abilities.

We learned in the first book that Courtney has a major crush on Jason. Which is great, except she gets shy and tongue tied whenever he’s around. Apparently Jason feels the same way, and once he makes the decision to let Courtney know how he feels, he doesn’t waste any time.

I enjoyed watching Courtney and Jason become a couple. He took things slowly and allowed Courtney to become more comfortable around him. When it became obvious that Courtney was in danger, Jason’s protectiveness went full force and he was determined to keep her safe.

It's great how all these guys have each other’s backs and are always there if/when needed. They really do have a brotherhood and would die to protect those they love.
