Chelsea grew up in rural New York, surrounded by cows and an appreciation for small farms. However, her real love affair with food began during a year abroad in Turkey, which sparked a passion for both food and history, as well as leading her to a degree in Classical History. A lifelong artist and fantasy fan, she greatly enjoys foreign languages, treasure hunting, and all things honey. She currently lives in Boston with several other cooks, and even more eaters, including one very happy Manx Cat.

I haven't tried many recipes from this book, as they don't seem as appealing and fun as the first book. Nomi is super cute and I like a cookbook from a characters POV (speaking of whom, I saw the buddy at the cheese shop Valdrakken for a while so.. cookbook 3 maybe?? I'd be so cool cause dragon food seems cozy and spicy). Anyways I didn't mind the recipe organization issue everyone is talking about, it's a nice concept like a travel journal almost.

I actually ended up returning this because I didn't like the way the recipes were organized. I love the first cookbook and have made about 20 recipes from it. This one just didn't have as many appealing recipes and sorting it by Warcraft region instead of recipe type was cool for the lore but kind of impractical, IMO.

Not even close to the first one. The recepies are less interesting (they often copy real world recepies to the note). Nomi's commentary is often annoying (unsurprisingly). Also, the order is a bit weird. And the majority of the food isn't that appealing. But still, there were some I want to try and it's written well in terms of understanding the recepies.

New Flavours of Azeroth is the second World of Warcraft cookbook to have been written by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel, and it is just as good as the first. The book is written, from an in-universe perspective, by the Pandaren chef Nomi and covers recipes from Stormwind Seasoning Herbs to Bread of the Dead and Shadowland Quiethounds, all with an interesting and humorous description by Nomi, as well as home helpful or funny notes.

The laid out by region (Kalimdor, Broken Isles, Shadowlands, Darkmoon Fayre, etc.), each with between five and ten recipes. While I haven’t had a chance to try any of the recipes yet, they seem relatively easy to follow for the most part. The book also includes some useful measurement conversion charts, as well as note on which recipies are Glutton Free, Vegetarian and Vegan.

As well as some very nice pictures of the food, the book also includes some great World of Warcraft artwork that make it a joy to just flick through to look at the pictures.

This is a greatly entertaining book that any foody World of Warcraft fan would love.
