If you're this far into the series you should really already know that it's rated 18+ for explicit scenes, violence, and language.

I have a love/annoyance relationship with this series. The story and characters are fabulous. I adore the development of Blake and Elena's relationship and reading it from Blake's perspective makes it even sweeter. I even adore all of the side characters. The weekend building has been fascinating to me.

I struggle with the editing. I'm not sure if some of the word choices seem wrong to me due to differences in culture or if it's a mistake. There are other editing issues, though. Normally with this level of editing problems, I wouldn't stick around. Without them, I would give it 5 stars. The story is compelling enough to keep me an avid fan, though.

Based on how far along we were, I thought this would be the last book. NOT! I loved all the info in it, and how things have parts that were not in the main story. I expected more when he half broke his oath though. Same with the Dragon League scenes. But I really appreciated the interactions with George. I never got the chance to get a strong feel for him in the main series. Sadly, Dean I still have no real opinion on.
It was a bit too slow for me. This one dragged too much and kept this from being a 5 star read.

I continue to love this series as I've put in reviews of all the other books. This installment begins to show the true person that Blake is. I really enjoyed reading books that I have basically already read just now from a different POV. I was also able to better understand parts of the story line that I didn't get when reading it from Elena's POV.
Once again, though - the editing is unforgivable. I have never seen so many grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors. There is at least one on every page of this book. Ms. Woods mentioned once before in a reply to a question that it was due to pirating. This is not the case. I bought this book from Apple the day it came out. It was not pirate. Just extremely poorly edited.
I hate it for the series because the storyline is so good. It makes the whole work seem very amateurish.

Well, as expected, I only read Rubicons POV because I wasn't ready to let go of Paegea and dragons with their riders. As this is basically a word by word retelling of a once already read story, there are very few surprises. Maybe small bits and pieces, tiny insights into Blakes heart and thoughts.
I strongly suspect I didn't really enjoy this book because I didn't like how the last book in the original went. The same frustrations and eye rolls happened and unfortunately it affected my enjoyment of this read. Hence the very neutral rating.
Refreshing part is Trials and what went on while Elena slumbers for months. This book did clear up some small pieces I missed in the original. Other than that, I am glad there have been a good amount of time since I read the original story, so it wasn't too boring.
Should you read this. If you loved the original Dragonian series and want to prolong your experience a bit more, then sure, go ahead. But Darkbeam books should not be read on their own as a first choice.
Overall, I waited a long time to get my hands on this novel and execution didn't meet the expectations. But that is just my hangups perhaps.

The truth will be revealed

I love reading Blake’s point of view as we get to see the real person without the darkness.
Just hate when there is so much that needs to happen and the book ends. Now I have to wait for the next installment.

OMG Yes Yes Yes

So much passion. So much mystery. So much love. I just can't express how intense this story STILL is. I do realize that this is from Blake's perspective and it is just as amazing as Elena's perspective is. Next Please!

I loved and hated this.

I absolutely love getting to see the story solely from Blake’s POV. However, the grammar and phrase usage is atrocious and almost made it unreadable. It took me three times longer to read this book than normal due to how the book read and all the issues with improper sentence structure and usage of the wrong words. The only reason I continue to struggle through this is because o loved the original story. I do think the author needs to desperately get an editor.

Can’t wait for the next one

Really enjoying Blake’s side of the tale. I bought the first three and binged them in a weekend, and this was no different

Very Redundant & many errors!

I wouldn’t buy this again, as plot/character development barely moves forward. Again, editing POOR! Many grammar, typos & spelling errors!!
