Paradise Bay #3

The Suite Life

Rate this book
He’s a total womanizer. All flirty smiles and empty charm. And I’m a single mum who can’t afford to get fooled again. So why the hell do I want him so badly?

I don’t believe in fairy tales.

Not after being abandoned by my daughter’s father. A law student by day and hotel concierge by night, I’m determined to give Isabelle the life I never had.

Suddenly finding myself in dire straits, I convert my garden shed into a rental suite in hopes of climbing out of the financial hole I’m in.

But when the only person interested in renting it is Leopold Davenport—the ridiculously good-looking co-worker I love to hate—I must choose between being happy and being broke.

So what if he’s wonderful with my daughter and surprisingly helpful around the house?

It means nothing that I caught sight of him in only a towel and can’t stop thinking about it.

Big deal that he’s the first person to make me really laugh in years.

Let’s get real—I’m not in a position to believe in happily-ever-afters.

I need to leave the do-not-disturb sign on my heart or I’m going to wind up getting badly hurt. Because Leo is the last man a girl like me can count on…

The Suite Life is a seriously romantic, laugh-out-loud tale featuring a rake with a heart of gold, a single mum and her absolutely adorable daughter, an eccentric aunt, and her three crazy cats. It can be enjoyed as a standalone but should be paired with peach bellinis and potato chips.

Not as good as the first two books in the series, but still one of the best romcoms I’ve read in a while. Super sweet, but not in a sappy way.

This was a fun and humorous romantic comedy that would especially be fun to read while on vacation (even moreso if you're vacationing in a tropical climate).

Overall, this was a fun and cute read but there was also a sense of female empowerment and positivity included in the undertone through the main character's story. It was important and I think it added to the message of the novel.

This was the third book in a trilogy but it was written in a way where it could easily be read and enjoyed as a standalone. For those that have read the series, there are recognizable characters from the previous books that make cameos.

It was a fun, quick read and a good ending to the trilogy.

The Suite Life is an easy, quick read that will make you feeling good and happy.
This is the third book in the Paradise Bay series and it could be read as a stand alone but if I were you I’d hate to miss the previous books because they are all golden.

Leo and Brianna, our main characters, can’t be more different, rich and spoiled the first, independent and swamped the latter.
When their lives collide they don’t get off on the right foot but day after day they grow on each other becoming friends and who knows maybe they could even learn something new and important from their past experiences.

I’ve spent a full day with these characters and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye in the end.
I really hope to read Will’s story soon.

This book was cute, funny and best off realistic. I adored the characters and how easy it was to relate to both of them. Summers does an amazing job of writing a smooth story that managed to not make me roll my eyes at the over dramatic love the two characters shared.

This was a good read. Leo's father has finally cut him off. He now has to try and make it on his own. He not only ends up working with Bree but living on her property. They of course end up falling in love and get their happy ending.

I received a free ebook copy of this book from the author but was under no obligation to post a review
At long last, the third and final book in the Paradise Bay series is here! This is definitely one of my favorite rom-com series.
In this installment, we get to read about Leo Davenports' personal growth and development from the good for nothing party boy of the Davenport family, to a loyal, caring and mature human being.
Along the way, we get to meet Brianna Lewis and her eccentric family. Brianna is the evening concierge at the Paradise Bay Resort as well as a single mom to a 4-year-old sweet girl and also a full-time law student, studying to take the bar exam and become a fully certified lawyer. Brianna is all business with little to no pleasure when we meet her, with a very strict point of view about people (men especially) with no aspirations in life. Because of that, she has very little patience for one playboy extraordinaire who goes by the name of Leo- the newest bellboy at the resort.
The interactions between the two are filled with misunderstandings, mistakes and a lot of sexual attraction. All of which is a part of Melanie Summer's winning recipe for an amazing rom-com that will make your day brighter when reading.

If you haven't already jumped on the Melanie Summers bandwagon, I strongly suggest you do so. once you join in, you won't be able (nor would you want) to leave.
The Suite Life, along with all the previous books set in Paradise Bay and Avonia, is highly entertaining, funny and a breeze to read through.

Now all that's is left for me to do is wait for the next spin-off book- The Royal Crush. I am SO happy we will get to read about both Arabella and Will! I have been waiting to read about their story
for so long! And now knowing that their story will be a shared one- I am even more excited.

Thank you so much to Melanie Summers for including me in your VIP readers club and for providing me with the copy of the book to review.

I received this from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review. I really enjoyed this story. Two people who thought the worst of themselves made something beautiful. They learned so much of love and growing up. Melanie writes such entertaining books and I look forward to reading more.

And we're back at Paradise Bay for another romantic & breezy story!

Rich, handsome Leopold is banished from Avonia to Paradise Bay for doing some naughty things with the Swedish princess. His inheritance & pride is in line if can't grow up & find a job at least for six months.
Single mom, future lawyer & concierge at the Paradise Bay Hotel, Brianna has her hands full so the last thing she wants is to spoon feed a rich brat of a bellboy who clearly doesn't belong here.

Bree & Leopold's story is filled with humour, sarcasm, romance & swoony moments. So many snort laugh scenes involving the cats, vomit scenes, butterfly phobia, Pierce & Leopold's childish fights, stupid bridal entourage, Spiderman underwear and many many more.

This was a complete feel good novel that will make you so happy.
I loved Leo's playboy, not-a-care-in-the-world attitude turning into a responsible adult attitude. Especially leaving his fortune behind for the love of his life.

And Bree, huge respect for her. How she juggled her job, school, daughter and everything else all together. I hated the fact that everyone gave her such a hard time about being a career motivated woman.

I loved those 2 together and can't wait to get back to Paradise Bay once again for book 4!

4.5 stars!

A heart lifting romance novel with just the right bit of comedy and passion.

Where do I begin? So, Brianna is a single mother living with her Great Aunt and Studying to become a Barrister while managing a job as a concierge at the resort. She doesn't have any time for romance in her life, especially when she hates men. Leo Davenport, a man who believes in enjoying life to the fullest and lives off the money provided by his extremely rich parents, has found that he will be disinherited if he doesn't start living as per the conditions sent by his father for six months.

Unlike the second book in the series, I guess there was something more in this particular book that appealed to me. The characters were relatable, and the plot was intriguing too. I enjoyed the sincerity and general playfulness surrounding this novel. There was also a positive character development. Definitely a good read!

I was provided a review copy by the publisher for an honest review

Oh how I loved Leo and Brianna’s tale. These two couldn’t have been more opposite in their backgrounds or their thinking. So imagine when they fell in love how easy it wasn’t. Yet it was perfect.

Leo’s immaturity and Brianna’s “old lady” vibe created so many laugh out loud moments and eventual growth for each character. I love how they changed to be better versions of themselves and for each other.

This is my favorite Melanie Summers story to date, and I may have binge read them all lately. LOL.

I did not like this book. I loved Whisked Away so I had high hopes for this book going into it. Sadly, those hopes were not met. I'm not exactly sure why I'm supposed to root for Brianna. Is it because she is a single mom, because she's a woman, because she struggled? I guess I could get behind that if she were a likeable character but she just wasn't. I really, REALLY didn't like Brianna. It's one thing to be driven and wanting a better life for yourself and your child, I do not fault or judge her for that, but my God she was just a straight up b*tch. She was extremely unlikeable and awful to pretty much everyone. When Leo finally called her out for how she judges everyone for not living up to her standards I was hopeful that he'd finally realize that he actually deserved better and that he would end up moving on from her for good. Unfortunately that did not happen. Leo was the only character, well the only main character, that I liked. Although I wasn't really interested in him enough in the beginning to think he actually deserved his own story, he did grow on me and I really enjoyed his overall growth throughout the book. I liked him so much that I thought he deserved better than being saddled with Brianna. Honestly, I didn't even care if she passed her tests. For being such a big part of the book, her constant studying, we don't even find out that she passed them until the epilogue of the book and even then it was a secondary notion to finding out that she and Leo got married and that they bought the house that she had been creepily stalking for a while, waiting for the old people living in to drop dead. I loved Leo and he deserved a better love interest. Overall I did not love this book and likely will never read it again. It was hard to get through because Brianna was so unlikeable and also because it dragged along too much. Not a great ending to what was a promising series.

I'd like to add that Brianna's family was awful but she wasn't any better. Her mother is insufferable, her father is uninterested, her sister is rightfully stressed (she planning a wedding) but does Brianna even try to understand her? The answer is no. Her aunt is also annoying. Ugh, there were not many people in this book to like. Also, Leo and Brianna had ZERO chemistry.

This light-hearted read was a fun adventure. Leo and Brianna live completely opposite lives from one another. Leo is a spoiled socialite whose party lifestyle is funded completely by his parents. Brianna is a single mother living with her aunt while trying to complete law school. They meet at a resort where Brianna works after Leo is cut off from his parents and must find a job, among a list of other things, in order to not be cut out of the will. Slowly Leo begins to fall for Brianna and falls in love with her daughter along the way. There are trials and tribulations among our two characters but the story covers interesting aspects of life. Brianna learns to let things go and become more adventurous while expanding her confidence. Leo learns how to be a real adult while learning the value of hard work and a dollar. This was a quick read for me and I enjoyed the development of both Brianna and Leo.

I had a hard time with this book, I skimmed the last few pages because I was over it. I felt like the characters, Brianna and Leo, had NO chemistry, it was awkward and not "fun" to read.

Briana and Leo are polar opposites, so much that Brianna acts like a brat and tells Leo essentially how horrible and spoiled he is, and then she tries to act like the bigger person. Now, how were they supposed to be together?
Brianna is a woman who has a lot going on, a daughter, working full time, and studying for the Bar exam. Leo is a spoiled rich boy who's dad kicked him out of the country and now he has to work (gasp) and make money. Leo is also Pierce's brother from the previous book (swoon over that book).
I had an issue with Brianna's family, who were horrible, and her high and mighty personality, she acted like she was so much better than everyone else and it was painful in some parts. I experienced second hand embarrassment after she screamed at her mother and then stormed out of he car to berate Leo.
The book wanted the readers to feel sorry for Brianna but also gave her a superiority complex that did NOT work with the chemistry our two characters were supposed to have. Brianna needed to gather herself because when she was going on a tyrant (a few times) about how hard she has it and how spoiled people are, it made her look spoiled.

The ending was Leo was disinherited and wanted to become a teacher? Not what I expected and of course they ended up happily ever after.

It was a shame, the previous books in this series were wonderful and so much fun to read, and this was a let down.

Leopoldo Davenport has never done... well, anything. So when his father cuts him off and threatens to make it permanent, Leo isn't sure what he's supposed to do. He has to get a job, do no drugs, and have no sex for sex months. Luckily, his sister-in-law's brother owns a resort. He could always be a bartender. Except, that is a super coveted position and Leo really has no skills. Instead, he's going to start as a bell porter much to the dismay of Brianna Lewis, his new boss. She's twenty-six, a single mother with a four-year-old, on the cusp of becoming a lawyer. His past doesn't amuse her. In fact, it's quite the opposite. But Leo needs to have a place to live and Bri happens to have a shed that's available and a need for the extra cash.
Like the first book, this was okay but I didn't connect to either character though I did like the growth arc for Leo who finally pulled himself together.

Leo is the wealthy layabout who has been cutoff from his family’s money after one too many wrong indiscretions. To find his way back into the fold, he must become a functional adult for six months. Bree is a single mother studying to become a lawyer while also dealing with her sister’s upcoming wedding, trying to keep her momzilla at bay from trying to marry her off, too, as Bree has no intention of doing anything of the kind. Then Rosy hires Leo and Bree becomes his direct supervisor, presenting a problem for her because she assumes Leo is everything she claims to hate in a person.

This is a great addition to the Paradise Bay series that I very much enjoyed reading and I look forward to the next to come from this author.

This book had me laughing from the first line of the first chapter. That is saying a lot!! And it kept going. I was giggling, chuckling and laughing throughout.
The story of Leo and Brianna was a cute one and I loved the growth on both their parts. Especially how they managed to get to it.
I have to admit that Brianna, initially, ticked me off a bit but eventually I turned around on her. After all... this was not only a story about two people falling for each other but personal growth.

This is a well written, hilarious love story. There are many Britishisms which I love. My favorites being tosser and wanker. The feminist issues are well balanced with the value of being a homemaker. It’s a light, happy ending story. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The first few chapters of this were slow and a little hard for me to get through honestly. I started this book several times before I made it further than a chapter or two, which is why I'm just now finishing an "ARC" for a book that was released in October. Oops! Anyway, once I got further into the story, it picked up and was a funny and heartwarming book - a perfect "beach read".

Leo was EXTREMELY unlikable early on, which was honestly a big part of why I struggled to get into the book at all. Think of the most entitled, childish, one dimensional rich "kid" you can imagine, multiply that by about 50, and you've got Leo. He was beyond insufferable, though from the glimpses we saw of his parents, I TOTALLY get why he'd be the way he was. Leo finds himself temporarily cut off, and has to agree to 6 months of living like a "normal" person along with no drinking and no dating in order to get himself back in his parents' good graces. "Watching" Leo navigate a lowly bellboy job, figure out how to do his own laundry (with a 4 year old as his teacher), and learn that his $11 wage was not a per minute wage made for some very entertaining moments. Underneath all of the spoiled, unambitious rich kid stuff though, Leo is actually a very kindhearted, caring, guy who just never had anyone who really believed in him or expected anything from him.

Bree is a single mom on track to becoming a lawyer and looking forward to a better life for her, her daughter, and her aunt that lives with them. Her mother and sister are quite self-righteous and unsupportive - really seemingly only interested in what she can do for them and finding her a husband who can overlook all of her "flaws". Bree is rather tightly wound and a little self righteous herself, but given her circumstances as a broke single mom in law school, it's a little understandable. In addition to school and studying for her bar exams, Bree works as a concierge at a higher end all-inclusive resort, and she is tasked with supervising Leo, who ultimately also becomes her tenant in her shed turned "garden suite".

Neither Bree nor Leo are perfect people by any stretch, but even just as friends, they were well matched, especially in that neither was particularly afraid to call the other one out on their bs. I feel like that and the growth and evolution of Bree and Leo as people was the real story here, even though there was some slow burn romance with a sweet (albeit predictable) finale.

Suite Life was the 3rd book in a series, but I had not read the first two and don't feel like I was missing anything, so I would definitely consider this fine to be read as a standalone.

This is the 3rd book of the Paradise Bay series, tying in old characters and bringing in some new ones. You could read it as a stand-alone, but it’s fun to have the connections.

Book 2 featured Pierce and Emma. This one focuses on Pierce’s younger brother Leo, and introduces Brianna (Bree.) He’s been banished from Avonia by their father and must follow a strict contract of keeping a job, living independently, not drinking, and no women for 6 months or he’ll be disinherited. Pierce and Emma help him get a job as a bellhop at her family resort. This is where he meets his boss, Brianna. She is a beautiful, smart, single mom who is studying to be a lawyer. She also becomes his landlord as he rents out a fixed up shed in her yard.

These opposites attract. They don’t make sense together, but they are drawn to each other so you know where it’s headed. Some parts are so funny. Some parts are too cheesy. And some parts are painful due to miscommunication and awkwardness. I hate it when there are such big misunderstandings that could be resolved with honesty. But Bree and Leo fight through lots of very awkward moments to move forward in a great way,

Things get wrapped up too easily in several situations, but it’s fun fiction. I like the feel good parts. It’s not a deep life changing book (even though people in the book change their lives and some aspects can seem deep.) But I enjoyed it! It was fun and mostly lighthearted, and it sucked me in to want to read more. It was predictable, but I liked where it was ultimately headed all along.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I immediately fell in love with Libby (okay and Harrison). Libby is so well put together with her life planned out to the minute, but is so unbelievably funny. The two ends met to make one amazing character. Harrison, owner of Paradise Bay, is so caring and carefree (and hot). Libby and Harrison end up working together as things get turned upside down. Libby's focus is on a "take over" report for her mergers and acquisition company, while Harrison is trying to figure out how to save Paradise Bay. There are lots of other great things going on in-between. I don't want to spoil it.

Tons of steamy (PG) moments, laugh out loud crazy mishaps, jilted bride, best friend, groom returns, sexy resort owner, and much more in The Honeymooner. I read this on my kindle and in day one I was at 50%. I hit panic mode....I didn't want this book to end. I ended up pacing myself and only read one chapter a day. It was pure torture as I didn't want to stop reading, but I didn't want it to end either. I felt the same way with Melanie's Crown Jewels series - another must read.

Good news, Whisked Away (book 2) will be out this fall. Crap its still summer. The Honeymooner is a must read, get it today....and start laughing.

This was a great book about growing up and finding who you are truly meant to be while finding your true love. The Suite Life is the third book in the Paradise Bay series. This one features Leo, Pierces younger, charismatic, and free spirited brother. With the threaten of a disinheritance from his wealthy parents due to his impulsive decision with a princess, he is thrown out of Avonia for 6 months and has to sign a contract that says keep a job, find a place to live, no drinking, no sexual relations of any kind, and just take initiative towards becoming an independent adult. He even has a 'parole officer' to watch his every move.

He meets Brianna when he starts working as a bellboy. Brianna is a mother to 4 year old Isabelle, as well as a student with the drive to someday become a lawyer. At first, she comes off as judgmental, looking at Leo like a poor little rich boy who has never had to work a day in his life. She is serious with her life, and looks down on people who don't try to reach their full potential. It isn't until Leo moves into her garden shed that she sees another side of him.

This book has just enough of everything...humor and sweetness. The characters were very likable, especially Brianna's aunt who is very funny...She is a spunky elderly with her cheese people. Ha!

I hate that this series is over, but so glad I read it.

The Suit Life: I chuckled, cringed, wept, and sighed throughout this novel as Bree and Leo struggled to find common ground. Leo has been banished by his father after a totally gauche error in judgment, whilst Bree is struggling to keep all her balls in the air as a single Mom, student, and night shift concierge. Forced into close proximity with one another, Bree is irritated and outspoken regarding the new hire. However, having him as her tenant makes her realize that she has been hasty in her judgment. Leo's ability to have fun and create something positive out of a negative is an eye-opener for the overly serious Bree. As things get serious between them, their world comes crashing down and one despairs for the couple. The chemistry between Bree and Leo is tangible, but little Izzy's contribution takes this novel up another notch. I thoroughly enjoyed this romantic comedy, which is a standalone and comes to a romantic and happy conclusion.

This book was so much fun and uproariously funny, yet there’s also something just a little bit more sombre about it than the previous books in the series. It digs in just a little more deeply to some of the darker emotions. Taking on judgement, and expectations, and self-worth (a whole lot about self-worth) and just generally what it means to be a good and productive participant in your own life. Wrapped around all that are the pitfalls (and pratfalls) of navigating family relationships and working in a customer service industry. I still hooted with laughter over everything these characters got themselves tangled up in, but sometimes they were darker more ironic chuckles instead. I am in no way prepared to let go of any of these characters. There need to be even more Paradise Bay books.

I don't know when exactly it happened, but ever since I started reading the Crown Jewels series - I've become this crazy super fan of Ms. Summers. I just love her books, her writing style and the way she sucks me into her books. I find myself only wanting to read and sadly ignoring all my adulting obligations (good thing my kids are teenagers and can sort of feed themselves). These stories are fun to read - it's like reading a Rom-Com movie. They are funny, witty, full of sexy characters that have you laughing and crying and cheering when they get their HEA. Thank you for writing such great books and for keeping me so thoroughly entertained.
This is a MUST have author to include in your book collection. BUY these books!!!!
Happy reading...enjoy!
