Yara, a human thief, is on the hunt for an item to help her find her little brother, Asa, who has been kidnapped by dragon shifters to be a sacrifice to their goddess. She pretends to be a door to door vacuum salesperson. She expects one dragon shifter, but she gets three. She successfully gets the item from their horde, but their house is attacked. Along the way, she finds out that she is to become the next queen of the dragon shifters.
I don't want to give anything away so I'm not going to give any more info, but this is exactly what I expect from Holly. It's filled with action, suspense, GOT guys, and some steamy sex. There's a cliffhanger, but it sets up the premise for book two.

Yara's little brother was kidnapped by dragon shifters and they are planning on sacrificing him to their goddess soon along with other children. Yara hates the dragon shifters and she has every right to, they do things like this and have very little regard for humans. So she's been sent to a certain address to find something that will let her save her brother but she has to steal something in order to save him which will not be easy.
Yara shows up on the doorstep of a house that has three dragon shifters living in it and she has to steal something from them but she has something that will help her. Too bad for her that same substance that was supposed to help her, got on her skin and has turned her into a sex-starved woman willing to sleep with the very dragon shifters she hates. But these three guys are not as bad as she thought they would be. In fact they are nice and keeps telling her that she might be their next queen. They are even willing to help her save her brother but before they can go anywhere the guys are kidnapped and she's left for dead. Good thing she's made of stronger stuff some of the dragon shifters think she is. So when she shows up and rescues her three dragon shifters, the other dragon shifters are shocked to find that the goddess they worship has appointed a human as their next queen. All kinds of chaos ensues after that but I really liked this story.

Low 3 stars.
Look, I wanted to like this. I did like certain aspects of it. But, even if you only consider it a starting point to the series, it lacks enough world-building to make it understandable. (Is it a spinoff with world-building somewhere else? I don't know. I don't care.) But the whole thing felt sketched out.
My main complaint is the sexy time, though. You know how sometimes, if you have a full schedule and don't really have time to eat, you might grab a sandwich and eat it on your way to your next appointment? (Walking while you eat is considered really rude in some cultures, BTW, which feels relevant to what I'm about to say next.) That's how all the spice in this book felt. It was literally so squeezed in between (or during) other things that it never felt like an appreciable event on its own.

Lots of sexy times.
The story idea is unique. Dragon's sacrifice children and a thief is going to do anything to save her brother, including stealing from dragons. Things don't go quite as planned. There is a story and lots of sexy times. The heroine is smart and capable. I give it a three because I wish she was older than nineteen and I wish we knew more about the male characters. We don't learn anything about them personally other than their names, what they look like, and their job. There could be a bit more world building too. Overall I did enjoy it for the quick read it is.

I read this before when it was in an anthology, but I forgot how awesome it was!
Yara needs to rescue her younger brother Asa, who was kidnapped by dragons to be a sacrifice to their Goddess for power. This happens monthly. Good thing Yara is a human thief who has what it takes to track down the location. I won’t spoil it, but she meets some good dragons who help.
This book is very spicy, with humor thrown in the make it even better.

3 & 1/2 stars rounded up.
The story was interesting enough for me to continue on with book 2. It really is more of a novella, at 98 pages, & if I didn't have a subscription to KindleUnlimited, I'd have passed on this book.
The flow was decent, but the whole thing hinges on reading book 2, since there is a cliff-hanger ending. I liked the 3 dragons in her harem, but Yara herself was a bit odd, I'd like her one moment, and the next I didn't. So I guess it was an iffy thing for me. The plot was unique enough to hold my attention & had me move on to book 2.

A great short story. It has humor and drama with a great female lead. Yara is feisty and strong as well as extremely loving. I loved the personalities of the guys as the added a great element to the story. It was well written and the characters were beautifully developed. It does have some twists that make the story very interesting. I loved how it was all incorporated together. Yes, it does end in a cliffhanger and was very good. A fantastic story.

The Spice Was Beautiful!
The spice in this book was nothing short of beautiful! The author did a damn good job creating the perfect chemistry within the main 4. Which in turn made the spice scenes pretty freaking potent.
Loved this book for its spice and story, so definitely check this one out. It is a quick read that will get you fired up.😏

The beginning was hilarious. Yara being a vacuum sales person was awesome. Though I wasn't a fan of three shifters but I should have expected it since the title has plural tongues. Think it would have been awesome w/out all the dudes but whatever. Wasn't a whole fan of queen stuff or the harem. Just seemed out of place w/her theif/loner tendencies but whatever.

A human thief and three hot dragon shifters. She is destined to be queen but everyone is out to kill her - good times. The book read really well, no grammar/spelling issues and I didn't stop reading from start to finish - l want to know what happens next.

This book was so good. I love the characters and how the love she has for her brother wasn't deterred by anyone or anything she kept to her plan to save him even though she had a slight problem that involved three sexy dragons . I'm getting ready to read the second one now

Pretty good!
I enjoyed reading this. The storyline was good and so are the characters! Can't wait to see what happens next. It did feel a little like something was missing. Other than that good start to a series.

Forked Tongues Are Fun (A Touch of Dragon Fire Book 1) by Holly Ryan – The first book was a freebie series starter, but I am totally curious to see how a thief manages to be a dragon queen! But Yara is a tough cookie, so I have no doubt that we are in for more wild adventures! Happy Reading!

Fine by me since I’d never ridden a dragon. Not like that anyway. Hi, my name is Yara, and I can’t not make sexual jokes when it’s all I can think about.
I don't care that I don't understand the world building. I don't care about this story continuing, nor did I enjoy literally any part of it. Major Skip. I mean, it's not the worst. There's just nothing good about it.

Okay then, three dragons and one thief with an accident. Short, fast paced and packed with smut. Not sure what to think of this one just yet, this one felt chaotic and pretty time sensitive.

This was a quick, entertaining read as Yara tries to save her brother from being sacrificed by the dragons. There is plenty of steam, lots of danger and a happy for now finish.

Awesome book as always. Great characters, good story line and plenty of paranormal to go around. Worth the time to look at. A good series to follow.
