Super Attractor: Methods for Manifesting a Life beyond Your Wildest Dreams

Rate this book
Ready to take the next step toward living in alignment with the Universe? The #1 New York Times best-selling author of The Universe Has Your Back shows you how.

In Super Attractor, Gabrielle Bernstein lays out the essential steps for living in alignment with the Universe--more fully than you've ever done before.

"I've always known that there is a nonphysical presence beyond my visible sight," Gabby writes. "All my life I've intuitively tuned in to it and used it as a source for good. . . . What we call it is irrelevant. Connecting to it is imperative." Super Attractor is a manifesto for making that connection and marrying your spiritual life with your day-to-day experience. In these pages, you'll learn to:
* Move beyond dabbling in your practice, when it's convenient, to living a spiritual life all the time
* Take practical steps to create a life filled with purpose, happiness, and freedom
* Feel a sense of awe each day as you witness miracles unfold
* Release the past and live without fear of the future
* Tap into the infinite source of abundance, joy, and well-being that is your birthright
* Bring more light to your own life and the world around you

This book is a journey of remembering where your true power lies. You'll learn how to co-create the life you want. You'll accept that life can flow, that attracting is fun, and that you don't have to work so hard to get what you want. Most important, you'll feel good. And when you feel good, you'll give off a presence of joy that can elevate everyone around you. After reading this book, you will know how to fulfill your function: to be a force of love in the world.

The first half of the book is insightful and useful. Her guided meditations are fantastic. But I had to check out once she starred talking about the archangel Azrael and communing with the ghost of Wayne Dyer. Never go full Marianne Williamson.

A good book to learn more techniques on how to surrender to the Universe and its plan for us. Gabby shares many different tools such as prayers and mantras to help one surrender and become « a super attractor ». Though the essence of the book is great, it wasn’t my favourite book on the topic as I often find Gabrielle’s choice of words very tacky and contradictory to what she wants to convey. Another point I didn’t like in the book is that although Gabby promotes surrendering a lot, it is still done with the end goal « to get what you desire ». However, sometimes what you desire isn’t necessarily what is best for you- hence why to me the best way to surrender is to also release one’s attachment to even getting what we desire. Many times surrender leads to us getting what we desire or better; but sometimes we don’t get what we want and that’s exactly what we need. I find that this book still had a big focus on attracting what we want via « surrender », which isn’t really surrendering. This is my personal opinion. A better book on the matter to me is Tosha Silver’s « It’s Not Your Money » or « Outrageous Openness ». She captured surrendering in a better way, to me. If you’re new to all these concepts, then sure this book will help, though.

I Attracted This

Updated on 4/25/2020

Gabby Bernstein's "Super Attractor" promises a path towards manifestation and living a life aligned with love. Driven by initial excitement, I rushed through the book initially. However, I heeded the author's advice to slow down and actively engage with the content. Rereading with focus allowed me to truly experience the power of the meditations and exercises.

While the book emphasizes positive manifestation, I would have appreciated a deeper exploration of navigating potential negative outcomes or setbacks. Because I basically struggled with a lot of fear surrounding the process of manifestation. I only share this here because I know that there are other folks out there in the world who feel that way too! Once I surrendered my fears of manifesting to the Universe and began to choose love, I began manifesting.

I'll be sharing my updates here on Goodreads as I slowly reread Super Attractor.

This book surpassed my expectations! While 'Miracles Now' was fantastic, 'Super Attractor' tackled deeper-seated anxieties I didn't realize I held. Its teachings on self-forgiveness helped me release a fear of failure that had been holding me back for years. Engaging with the meditations truly felt like removing a blockage, allowing a flow of positive energy to enter my life. It's not just powerful – it's transformative. As I practice these exercises, I sense a growing community of readers committed to similar growth. Together, we're creating a ripple effect of positive change in the world.
Here's a Prayer Gabby suggests saying in Chapter 1:

I forgive my past, I release the future, and I honor how I feel in the present.

~ Gabby Bernstein

I know that I attracted this book into my life right now for a reason. The reason is an answered prayer.
What I like the most about this book is the way that Gabby is completely honest. Just because she is a Spiritual Teacher does not mean that she never falls out of alignment with love. She shares her experiences of being out of alignment and the way she comes back. She surrenders and asks for help through prayer. She then receives Good Orderly Direction (GOD). She teaches us how we can do the same. In this place of alignment, we manifest all our true desires. I say true desires because I feel that after reading this book, you will find your true desire is not to manifest material things (although I do believe that these will come) but, rather intangibles like happiness, joy, serenity, and peace.
I believe that there is now definitely more peace on earth because of this book. It's a very powerful read! This book emits powerfully positive vibes.
I highly recommend this book!

Here's a little snippet of my next review of Judgement Detox (a book by the same author).

Have you ever heard the term "Shadow Work"? That's basically what Judgement Detox is and please know that this type of work is very intense and it is best to go slowly.....

Faith in a benevolent Universe, vibrational alignment and high frequencies and shit, tune into a flow of abundance through prayer and instructions from your spiritual archangel guide of the highest truth and compassion, either Michael or your dead granny...

Why the fuck did I read all this nonsense?
Wanted to puke throughout the book, this is exactly why smart people have documented the confirmation bias, the hindsight bias and other brain anomalies so that people don't become *this* stupid...

It's not that her practices don't make sense, but she attributes every reasonable change to some magical power.

It's like saying that you should take your medicine while jumping on one leg, and if you're healed, thank gravity (was really difficult to come up with any example that's remotely as dumb as what she describes).

You REALLY have to be into Law of Attraction and personal development to take much from this book, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who wasn’t already a little steeped in these ideas. But I loved this one. I listened on audio and think it’s the best Gabrielle Bernstein’s best that I’ve read.

After all those years of practicing and reading about LOA I thought there were maybe still more nuggets to learn and when my friends started to read this one, I had to give it a try too. This book is actually a summary of all the things I already know, blended with personal stories, course of miracle wisdom (very Marianne Williamson), Abraham Hicks wisdom and sadly lots of subliminal self promotion. By the end of the book you'll know all about the other books she has written and what extra tools you need if you want to turn this book into a practice.

If you have read a ton of these books you sooner or later come to the point where all books about LOA basically say the same thing. This book made me realise I have learned everything about LOA I could possibly learn and it's time to put that wisdom into lots of inspired action.

This book is problematic. I appreciate Gabby’s willingness to share her journey toward sobriety and conception and shine a light on the hurt and trauma associated with infertility, addiction, and unmet expectations. However, both Gabby and her book are equal parts fake news and tone deaf. Much of the critique around Marianne Williamson’s seminal work like A Course in Miracles or A Return to Love, referenced throughout Gabby’s book, is the implication that serious problems are merely a result of a negative mindset and the best way to solve your problems is to meditate/pray/elevate yourself out of them (e.g., Williamson’s advice to gay men in the early stages of the AIDS epidemic). Gabby doubles down on Williamson’s suggestions (as well as Dyer’s wish fulfillment) and provides methodologies to help seekers choose different thoughts and reframe their experiences. I wonder how these spiritual teachers might address a public health matter like CoVid-19? Perhaps with higher vibrational thoughts? There are, in fact, problems and issues in our world, and I wonder if perhaps these wealthy cishet white women have escaped many of them through their own privilege. For them, their spiritual approaches might be enough to help them hurdle their challenges; however, the assumption that these methodologies are transferable or generalizable at the levels to which Bernstein’s work indicates is ludicrous and irresponsible. The notion that problems are solved with signs from the universe and a flight of archangels is exactly why people essentialize spiritual work and often work to delegitimize it when, in fact, it might be helpful in dealing with some larger problems such as systemic inequality — Eckhart Tolle’s notion of cultural pain bodies, Rhonda Magee’s inner work of racial justice, and even Brené Brown’s vulnerability all come to mind. Gabby really needs to take responsibility here for perpetuating dangerous mythologies by way of cloaking privilege and avoidance in a narrative of self-improvement.

It’s a good read if you are new to the concept of law of attraction. I found it a bit tedious to read as she went on and on about how great and connected she is. Too much self obsession. The disease of modern spirituality. Large chunks of it were extremely flakey and repetitive. Overall you ask, have faith, wait, pray, be grateful, mediate and call upon angels. I prefer Abraham hicks material or good old vedanta, yoga philosophy which is solid and not hippy dippy.

I have been an avid Gabby follower and have all of her books. This one I felt let down by. I struggled with arc angels and guides not having been brought up in previous books and being a focus in this one. In a way I felt I had been mislead by the author. There is some content in the book that I enjoyed however I can't help but feel that Gabby has become more about marketing and looking for something new to talk about than a truth which I can align myself to.

This really wasn’t very good. Either I’ve reach the point where I no longer resonate with her or it was just plain bad. Disappointed but I’m thinking it’s time to say farewell to Gabby. Everything felt repetitive and just forced.

After a recent Zoom discussion with friends about manifesting your desires/dreams (looking at you Kat 😉), it felt like fate that this book was recommended to me on the Libby app. I was skeptical at first, but surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I don’t necessarily agree with all her schools of thought, but picked up lots of small pearls of wisdom along the way.

There is hardly a page in this book that I haven’t highlighted somewhere. I’ve been on this path for a long time now and I am clear that I'm loved, safe and protected, so it’s easy for me to “choose to live in the light”. However, it never does any harm to reinforce those beliefs and Gabby does it so beautifully. I bought the “Super Attractor Card Deck” too and when I need extra guidance, I always seem to pull the perfect card. I also purchased the “Super Attractor Journal”. Although it is pretty much a blank canvas for me to record notes and feelings as they came up as I read the book, it is perfect. Nice good quality journal paper and it folds back all the way to allow easy writing if I am not in front of my desk. I love reading inspirational books, it is a source of great joy for me and this one does not disappoint……plus after following Gabby’s journey for a few years now, I was so thrilled for her and happy to see she eventually got her precious little Oliver. Life is amazingly beautiful.

This is probably a great book for someone just starting out on a spiritual path. On one hand it’s great that someone has the PR savvy and is helping spread awareness because often that is lacking in teachers and guides so the message doesn’t spread its wings. I think there’s a fine line to walk though to ensure it’s not too salesy.

The weird thing is that I continued to get an upset stomach while listening to this audiobook and just had an uneasy feeling. I’m still wanting to find out why this hasn’t sat well with me. I’ve done heaps of self development over the past twelve years, I’ve moved around, I’ve sat in endless days of silence meditating, I’ve read spiritual books, I’ve tried just about everything along the way and usually I would go the other way when I’d get that feeling. My entire life has changed in infinite ways and I hardly recognise my old life since starting on my own self development path. So I thought I’d finish it to see if there really was anything that I hadn’t done or heard of before from a practice stand point and nothing seemed new, just spoken from her voice. Which is fine. If this is brand new it would be worth visiting the teachings of Abraham-Hicks as it’s powerful, insightful, direct, and it’s often who she references.

I am certainly a “super attractor” and still found this book to be a bit heavy, a smidge dark, NLPish, and a little salesy with all the mentions of the companion journal and previous books. I am glad that she has helped a lot of people and continues to do so, perhaps her style is just not my cup of tea. Perhaps this is the nudge I need to recognise that I have my own clearly defined style and to share it beyond my friend group how I go about living this great life full of love, flow, and appreciation.

XD no nie wiem karen, może idź na terapię??? just something to think about.

There were concepts that really resonated and I can see how they can bring positive changes in my life. But there were so many repetitions and clearly marketing-oriented copy in the middle that it made me frustrated at times.

Overall, a good book with some great takeaways.

I turn to this book whenever I am feeling out of alignment or feel that I need to ground myself. This is something we might all be feeling a little more, in the current climate.

It is my third time reading this book and this time I opted to do so by also purchasing the audio book. This book was my first audio book purchase and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I felt a deeper connection with the book by listening to Gabby’s voice.

Highly recommend for anyone who needs a gentle reminder to let go and trust in the universe.

I read this book probably in 2 years ago but I rushed through it. I felt a calling to go back to it. This time I took my time. As Gabby says slow down sister. I followed the book and did the exercises and feel the resistance lifting.

This book is plain awful. Every single chapter goes the same way.. She spends the whole chapter bragging about her life, her website, her books, name dropping every famous spiritual person she possibly can, claiming she channels Wayne Dyer’s spirit, talking about all her “struggles” which are for the most part just white rich people problems, then in the last paragraph of the chapter she will finally get to the point which is so surface level it’s embarrassing. It’s just “think positive” “choose your thoughts” “love and light”, or things she’s regurgitated from Abraham Hicks and A course in miracles.

This book is the exact same book she’s written over and over again now. There is absolutely no substance, don’t waste your money or your time.

Gabrielle Bernstein's books seem to show up at times in my life when I truly need them. 'The Universe has your Back' came to me at a time of severe illness and paralyzing uncertainty. This one comes to me when I am 27 years young and I am finally trying to face my fear of driving. So many encouraging words and ideas. This book has definitely changed my mindset. I was hoping for more written exercises, but taking note of key ideas will do. 🥰

Once again, Gabby has given us on the Path a light in the storm. Super Attractor speaks to those of us who default to fear, who are in a state of lack, and - most importantly - want to have fun co-creating our lives.

I took roughly 25 pages of handwritten notes while reading this (YES you will need a notebook) but here’s some key takeaways for me from Super Attractor:

• saying Thank You for our challenges so that they may pivot us toward grace

• Choose Again method (notice the thought, forgive the thought, choose a higher vibe)

• selecting an affirmation to feel good

• the seven attraction blocks

• using the Emotional Guidance Scale for awareness of alignment

• “Be in alignment with their success, not in alignment with their problem.” (HUGE gamechanger for me!)

• Action + Inspiration = Co-Creation

• Chapter 9 is ALL about appreciation. The whole damn chapter. Soak it in!

• The Daily Design Method (yes to this on a daily basis!)

Five stars! Gabby keeps blessing her readers with guidance and I’m a foreverfan! Will be reviewing my notes throughout the rest of the week.

This book is a nice refresher of the fundamentals of mindset and mindfulness. The accompanying audio of meditations are great- I also love that she has journal time built-in.

Takeaways:
- The Abraham Hicks concept of delaying happiness thinking we'll be happy when we get there. "You have to be satisfied w/ what is while reaching for more."
- Things not working out? It actually is- something better is on the way: reframe
- 'Whatever you've done so far as a tiny fraction of what you're capable of- it's boundless'
- your ability to desire is synonymous with your ability to have it happen
- Emotional scale, aim to rise up it one step at a time:
1. joy
2. passion
3. enthusiasm
4. positive expectation
5. optimism
6. hopefulness
7. contentment
8. boredom
9. pessimism
10. frustration
11. overwhelm
12. disappointment
13. doubt
14. worry
15. blame
16. discouragement
17. anger
18. revenge
19. hatred
20. jealousy
21. insecurity
22. fear
- incite spirit guides w/ prayer: "Thank you guides for the highest truth and compassion, for revealing to me what I need to know."
- Wayne Dryer- you know you're in spirit when 1 thing goes wrong but you notice 10 things that are right
- Daily design: how do i want to feel today? who do i want to be today? what do i want to receive today? what do i want to give today?
