Imagine all the bad HR books you have read. Now group them all together, and then maybe you will get close to what this horrible collection was all about, barring a few stories, of course.

I am traumatized. Seriously, I have PTSD symptoms after repeating the stop and resume process of this farce of an anthology for over five weeks. I give up. My OCD be damned. It not only destroyed my holiday season but also managed to scar and scare me into ever picking up another HR anthology ever again.

For my final note, I want to say that it should have been named "Spanked Under the Mistletoe" as opposed to Seduced.

PS - Looks like I am one of the few readers who have attempted to finish this whole thing!

1. Yuletide Yeilding by Ashe Barker
- Skimmed. Even if I could get on board with the Vikings, a bed slave trope is something I could not digest, fuck no. Some parts of this story rankled me. The plot was non-existent. BDSM story.

2. Trusting Her Highland Laird by Brandy Golden
- Whaaaaaat? I couldn't tell you what this story was about even if you paid me. The prologue said she hates her betrothed and would never welcome him to her bed. Cut to chapter 1 - they now madly love each other, and she is knocked up. Did I miss the romance? There is some blindfold stuff, spanking stuff, bothersome stuff, and stuff I did not understand. WTF? Yet another BDSM story.

3. Duke of Christmas by Ellie St. Clair
- A rapid-fire of insta-lust, insta-love, misunderstanding, and HEA with an epilogue that is a quarter of a century in future. But this was leagues better than the previous two. It was kinda cute. An author I would consider exploring.

4. A Christmas Masquerade by Vanessa Brooks
- Skimmed. Shallow, idiot heroine, lies, lies, and more lies. Bad plot, bad writing, bad steam, more spanking. Every character had a Christmas themed name. Stupid story, next.

5. Peril With A Prince by Emily Murdoch
- Two French idiots, stranded on an English island. Stupid plot, stupider hero. Blah.

6. Her Mistletoe Promise by Jaye Peaches
- Would you ever sleep with someone you thought needed cheering up because they looked sad? No? I didn't think so. Well, that was the plot. Seriously, what's wrong with people? Yet another BDSM story. Meh.

7. Mistletoe Mistress by Nicola Davidson
- I had read this one before and liked it. My review of this novella.

8. The Gentleman's Seduction by Lauren Smith
- A little wrong, a little cute. Villain's daughter for debt settlement to the hero - WRONG. Them falling in love - Cute. An author I may consider.

9. Bastian's Surrender by Carole Mortimer
- Halfassed. A promising plot that went nowhere and ended abruptly. Also, considering the disturbing levels of steam in the other stories, this one was almost clean.

10. My Lady of Misrule by Amy Rose Bennett
- Late husband's best friend/ loved best friend's wife. Scandalous, sweet, steamy, but where the hell was the romance? Okay, this one was not that bad. Also slightly BDSM.

11. A Wicked Christmas Wish by Em Brown
- No. Hell no. Fuck no. Not in a million years. Not even if you paid me a million dollars. No. No. No. Just no. This was wrong, just plain wrong. Even if I were to set aside the kink of the steam, the plot was creepy, the guy was creepy, and the writing was horrible. FUCK NO. Call me a prude, but NO.

12. A Bluestocking for Christmas by Viola Morne
- Dub-con/ non-con alert. Weird, creepy, and horrible. Bad, this was just bad. And we have another BDSM story.

13. The Marriage Game by Gracie Malling
- Creepy, dub-con goes supposedly sweet. Is this what is selling as romance these days? One more BDSM story.

14. Wicked Deeds On A Winter Night by Stacy Reid
- They keep the good stuff for the last, I guess. Ms Reid's stories are phenomenal. This story was sweet, romantic, emotional, angsty, steamy, charming, and I enjoyed it. Thank God.

15. The Night Before Scandal by Scarlett Scott
- It's no secret that I adore Ms Scott's writing. This was a wonderful, funny, sweet, cute, steamy, and lovely story.

16. Master of the Moor by Emmanuelle de Maupassant
- DNF. I tried. I really, really tried. But I am tired, and my patience has run out. If I have to read about another dub-con/ slut shaming reference, I will hit something. There is dark, and then there is trying too hard to be dark, this one is the latter. I have no clue what this novella is about, and I don't think I want to find out.

I finished the final story after I posted the reveiw! All I am asking myself is this - Why?

My recommendation
Is it so difficult to find good, steamy, romantic, historical novels? Am I reaching for the stars here? There were a few good ones, read them individually. If you try to read this as a collection, YOU SHALL SUFFER. Fuck this shit.

Heat for the Holidays!

Yuletide Yielding by Ashe Barker

Professionally written and completely captivating, “Yuletide Yielding” brings the Viking Holiday season to life with vivid imagery as well as heart pounding suspense. The story flows seamlessly building upon the relationship between a completely endearing heroine and one hot, dominant Viking who is compelled to fulfill an obligation rather than follow his heart. The scheming, treachery and deception of a malicious Viking bride-to-be further elevates the plot intensity, prompting the perfect resolution to an exciting as well as engaging story-line. “Yuletide Yielding” alone is well worth the cost of the entire anthology!

Her Mistletoe Promise by Jaye Peaches

“Her Mistletoe Promise” is another engaging, professionally written story featuring two enjoyable protagonists and their burgeoning relationship during the twelve days of Christmas. The story-line offers a welcome twist on the typical regency romance, highlighting a young seductress with a soiled reputation daring to seduce a disgraced British officer. The descriptive narrative brings the regency era to life through vivid depictions, a touch of humor, explosive chemistry and sweet romance. The protagonists journey from lust to love is supported by endearing secondary characters who are both heartwarming and colorful. “Her Mistletoe Promise” is erotic regency era romance at its best!

Two down, and both are fantastic!

MISTLETOE MISTRESS by Nicola Davidson

Miss Rachel Lindsay, who previously had worked as a maid in an orphanage, has been politely sent to occupy the same position in a posh household. The coach trip had not been the most pleasant, but a stop at a small inn is a welcome respite for Rachel. And so, Rachel finds herself stranded in the middle of nowhere on December 24, with little hope of some transportation for the time being. Arran Elliot, the new Marquess of Kyle, was forced to stop at the same inn, his carriage having experienced some problems. Arran couldn’t help but notice the fetchingly curvy miss, but his future awaits him in London, so now is not the time for sensual musings. When Arran is told that the inn only accepts married couples and families, he never expected the offer that dropped in his lap.

Nicola Davidson’s erotic Regency romances are always delightful, and this naughty Regency Christmas story is no exception. Rachel is a lusty miss, and she knows that she entertains wicked thoughts, as thwacks on the bottom by her teachers did not feel like the punishment, but left her hot and bothered. Lucky for her that it’s the sort of bed play Arran prefers, and lucky for us that Ms. Davidson knows how kink should be treated and experienced. Novellas are an art form that few master, but Nicola Davidson certainly does, as she demonstrates again that a few well-chosen words can bring a character to life, that backgrounds can be established swiftly, and that misunderstandings need not clutter the narrative.

Nicola Davidson’s prose is irreproachable, so light and eloquent, and the dialogues playful and flirty. Christmas at the country inn was lovely and so beautifully described, that I felt I was celebrating along with the guests. The secondary characters were also well fleshed out, and I loved Harry; what a delightful plot twist! As with every one of her novella, the end always come too quickly, I always want more, but maybe it’s what makes them so perfect: Nicola Davidson has the ability to tell a whole story in a hundred pages and leave the reader satisfied, if begging for more – a notion that Arran would certainly appreciate!

WICKED DEEDS ON A WINTER NIGHT by Stacy Reid

The man she loved had made it home for Christmas! Ever since he had left for the Crimean War, Miss Primrose Markham had waited for Gabriel Northcote’s return, and there he was. He had said they would marry, but was it foolish for a simple governess to hope to wed the second of the Earl who employed her? Nothing seemed to have changed between Gabriel and Primrose until Gabriel’s mother announces that she has found the perfect bride for her son: Lady Beatrice.

What a fantastic story! Stacy Reid has crammed effortlessly a whole novel within the pages of this enchanting novella: superbly defined characters, solid backstories, wonderfully evocative descriptions of a Victorian Christmas, and all this told with stylish elegance. The naughty bits are sensual and lovely and inserted in the narrative at the right place and time. Gabriel and Primrose are both very engaging characters: he is a man of his word; principled and true; she is my very definition of the ideal historical heroine. Primrose has a good head on her shoulders, behaves rationally; and she is strong and proud.

There were more hurdles and dramatic events than I would have expected, all very realistic, and Ms. Reid handled every challenge with aplomb. I was completely absorbed in the story, and my heart broke at one point, because I could not see how our couple would get their happily ever after. The writing is gorgeous and always in tune with the era, the story flows smoothly and runs the gamut of emotions; this novella is absolutely flawless!

Review copies were graciously provided by Ms. Davidson and Ms. Reid, without incentive or pressure to read and review favourably. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a line up of excellent authors in this set of novellas. I have only read four so far but enjoyed them all.
The Night Before Scandal 5*
I loved the character of Alexandra, she had a scientific mind and loved experimenting. She was forward thinking for a lady of her time. Harry was equally a likeable character. They are found together in a scandalous position. But will Alexandra marry him, she wants a love match. A very entertaining read.
A Wicked Winter Wish 4*
This was hot but it was also so much more. The story revolves around truth and forgiveness. One to make you think about these attributes.
The Marriage Game. 4*
This involves Sarah and David, Sarah has spent much of her time with David’s family, so they know each other fairly well. However an incident on Christmas Day leaves Sarah with much to think about concerning David. When a marriage has been arranged for her, will Sarah accept her father’s wishes? This is a lighthearted but spicy read that I enjoyed.
Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night 5*
Oh I loved this story of Primrose and Gabriel! It had it all, passionate romance, heartbreaking moments and uppity relations. Primrose was the governess and not thought suitable for a second son of an earl, Gabriel. They were such engaging characters and I enjoyed the connection between the two of them.
I’m looking forward to reading the other stories.

Mistletoe Mistress by Nicola Davidson was an absolute delight. Arran and Rachel together sizzled off the page…then set it on fire *fans self* Arran thought he had his future all mapped out, until Rachel, with her lush curves and innocent frankness, save them both from the tight spot they’d found themselves in. He’s drawn to Rachel immediately, she fascinates him and it doesn’t take long for him to realize she’s the submissive of his dreams. For Rachel, Arran is the kind of man she never thought she’d find, a man who can give her exactly what she’s been longing for, who understands her wants and desires. Um…did I say hot? SO MUCH HOTNESS! They were perfect together and watching them fall for each other was a pleasure I plan on repeating! This one is going straight into the reread file!

This is not, in my view, a Christmas anthology. Admittedly, I did not read every story. I read two of them and skimmed a few pages of another few.
It was enough for me to recognise that this is a set of stories that give little emphasis to a Christmas theme and total emphasis to tales that involve brutish and sadistic men who demand sex without consent, see nothing wrong with whipping, caning and beating the masochistic women they control (and idiotic women, at that, whose quims quiver as they moan how much they love these creeps “who mean everything to them”.)
The first of the two stories I read in full was the opener about the Viking and his slave, which was brutal and unappealing, with purple prose that would’ve made me laugh if I was less repulsed by the purported hero. That story may, however, been close to historically accurate for all I know about Viking/Saxon history.
The only other that I read in full was the one about the estranged married couple in 19th century Britain, with the wife forced into (but apparently enjoying) life as a prostitute in a relatively low-level brothel. The husband, who is divorcing his wife for adultery, is totally and utterly loathsome and it is impossible to feel any empathy for him. Moreover, the story is downright ludicrous, from the incomprehensible resolution to the continuous emphasis on his throbbing groin. And it’s distasteful as well, not only when there is a repeated image during sex scenes that involve the breast milk of the estranged mother, who is still feeding the baby she is caring for in the brothel, but also when the estranged husband gets excited by the sight of his wife working as a submissive prostitute. Finally, the scene where the wife blames herself for the estrangement made me want to throw my Kindle at the wall.
If the rest of the stories were great, my bad, but I’d be surprised if that were to be so.
I don’t call these stories naughty. That is a misnomer.
Market this collection as sadomasochistic erotica by all means and then readers will know what they are getting.
I’d give this a zero star if I could.

Amazing! Sixteen authors, each with a story a Holiday story that will entertain you for many hours!
Strong heroes from Marquess to Dukes and the beautiful heroines fill these stories of romance, strong passions, scandals and true love.

My Lady of Misrule by Amy Rose Bennett
Be prepared for a steamy romance that will hold you captive until the end. Minerva and Tristan had known each other a long time. In fact she had been married to his best friend who had perished over two years ago. Always ready to be there for her, Tristan was surprised when she made an early call and asked to speak to him. Tristan had always hidden feelings for her and she had been attracted to him too. After she revealed the reason for her call, it seemed the air begin to sizzle between them. A slow build to a romance that would ignite them as if they were meant for each other. But were they? Why did Tristan stay away when all Minerva wanted was to see him? Do not miss this story that will melt your heart as you turn the last page.

The Night Before Scandal by Scarlett Scott
Such a wonderful story of a chance meeting of two people in a most unexpected way! On the way to a Christmas house party, Lord Harry's carraige breaks down. While waiting for another to come for him, he sees a young woman dressed in men's clothing! Well the lad is acutall yLady Alexandra, gathering meteorlogical data! Yes, definitely a bluestocking and very intelligent must I say. They end up sharing his carriage and to say there are almost fireworks is being mild! But as they reach his brother's house where the party is, well, the adventure begins!
There was a lot packed into the novella and I loved every word! I could not wait to see what would happen and I highly recommend you do not miss this delightful story!

More to come!!

An anthology of sixteen novellas I’ll be dipping into this for some time.

Mistletoe Mistress by Nicola Davidson
Rachel Lindsay is travelling by stagecoach to a new post as a maid when she is tricked into missing it’s departure. Arran Elliott Marquis of Kyle is travelling to London to finalise an arranged marriage when the axle breaks on his unmarked coach. The pair find themselves at an inn that won't entertain single people. So there's only one thing to do! What starts out as the way to get a room turns into a night of passion, if need warming up then this will certainly do that.
Rachel’s been brought up in a foundling home & dislikes the aristocracy, Aaron wasn't meant to be a marquis & would rather just farm his lands. They both have secrets however their attraction is strong & sizzles but they also like each other. The road to their HEA isn’t smooth but it’s so hot & heart warming. This is only a novella but the author always manages to have well developed characters (!!) & a good story

The Night before Scandal by Scarlett Scott
Lord Harry Marlow MP is on his way to his brother Spencer’s country estate Boswell House for Christmas when his coach suffered a broken axle at the edge of the estate, whilst waiting for a replacement coach he encounters Mr Danvers who is in fact Lady Alexandra Danvers wearing her brother’s clothes whilst she studies the weather, they travel to the house, Harry steals a kiss which is witnessed by most of the house party guests who were going to go skating. Of course Harry needs to honourable thing but Alex’s brother Julian asks him to court Alex.
A novella that packs a good story & strong characters in a small number of pages. I read it in a sitting & was engrossed from beginning to end. Neither Harry nor Alex want to marry but their attraction is strong but they also talk & as well as falling in love the become friends.

Wicked Deeds on a Winter Night by Stacy Reid
Primrose Markham, a baronet’s daughter is governess to Annabelle Northcote daughter of the Earl of Fairclough. Primrose is overjoyed when Captain Gabriel Northcote returns home after being away for two years fighting in the Crimean War. Gabriel & Primrose had fallen in love before he left & time hasn’t changed their feelings & now they plan to marry only to meet with hostility from his family.
Another novella that packs so much into a short read, well written, great characters & well paced. As well as being so hot that my kindle nearly melted it’s also a love story that melts your heart

I just love anthologies & this one is a real treat. There are so many authors contributing. Some are must read authors others are new to me. I’ve not read all of the stories yet but the ones I’ve read so far have been short but engrossing ideal for warming you up in winter when there’s a couple of spare hours. They are HOT but also are lovely stories too.

With her signature seductive writing Amy Rose Bennett takes readers on a wonderful holiday fling full of racy interludes and unexpected love in My Lady of Misrule. Sir Tristan King brings a wickedly appealing hero to the pages that is well matched with the hidden gem of Minerva Lady Harlow. Their mutual attraction and ensuing sparks were well written by Ms. Bennett who did an excellent job of blending history, adventure, sensuality and yearning.

Amy Rose Bennett's My Lady of Misrule is the perfect way to ring in the holidays and keep deliciously warm!

THE NIGHT BEFORE SCANDAL BY SCARLETT SCOTT -I really enjoyed this story - it was short but there was so much packed into the pages & you really did have time to get to know Harry & Alexandra. They fell in love at first sight (unbeknownst to them) but they soon realized the magnetism between themselves & it was a good thing since he compromised her & they were being semi-forced into marriage. I loved the delightful descriptions Scarlett does of the Christmas snowy weather, skating, holly bushes & caroling as it does get you in the Christmas mood - along with a heated romantic meeting between Harry & Alexandra. I hope the other stories in Seduced Under the Mistletoe are as good as this one!

DUKE OF CHRISTMAS BY ELLIE ST. CLAIR - Marie has been betrothed to Lionel, Duke of Ware since she was a small child. He has avoided her for several year but now seems to be interested in gaining her attention. Over the years, Marie has heard rumors about Lionel's questionable behavior & being the strong, opinionated lady she is, she confronts him about his actions. I love the humor & witty bantering between Marie & Lionel, his Mother was beyond all that is wicked for trying to keep them apart but in the end they do find their HEA. This is a really fun & entertaining read & I highly recommend it!

THE GENTLEMAN'S SEDUCTION BY LAUREN SMITH - Martin Banks' family was thrown out of their home 11 years ago by Edwin Hartwell, their evil landlord. Now, Martin has beaten Hartwell in a card game & Hartwell cannot pay him. Now, close to Christmas, Martin will get his revenge & financially ruin Hartwell but something goes wrong or maybe something goes right for Martin as Livvy, Hartwell's daughter, offers herself to clear her father's debt. Martin accepts this proposition bu soon regrets it as it was turning into a seduction of an innocent. How did retribution turn into seduction? Martin refuses to let himself fall in love & Livvy has already fallen in love with him - can he find a way past the revenge & hate? This was a good, heartwarming, holiday read!

Seduced Under the Mistletoe is a wonderful collection of stories. My favorite is Master of the Moor by Emmanuelle de Maupassant. She has woven a tale that is full of secrets, mystery, and a few very delightful surprises. The relationship between Lord Mallon and Genevieve was like watching a chess game. Each move was measured and outwitted by the next move.

My Lady of Misrule by Amy Rose Bennett
Have your fan ready with this one. That spark had been hidden deep in both of them until a conversation and kiss under the mistletoe ignited it. They were made for each other and didn't know it. They had many interesting lessons that made their feelings strong and known. I loved how they didn't play games and understood each other. I wasn't expecting him to pop up during the show, but that just brought them together.

Minerva was sparked by finding out her husband's secret to discover what she had been missing in the bedroom. She never expected some of the things she saw or that she would also enjoy them. I loved the fire in her and how she didn't run and hide from anything.

Tristan had admired her from afar for years and he couldn't hold back any longer. He had no problems teaching her what she wished to learn. I liked that he liked to take control and command, but not in a way that would be a turn-off as he was still gentle.

This story does have a bit of kink in it, but nothing too far out there or anything between them that readers would be upset over (like a threesome).

When I saw that some of my favorite authors had steamy and romantic Christmas stories in one volume, I rushed out to purchase it. So far I have only read Master of the Moor by Emmanuelle de Maupassant and it is worth the purchase by itself. Prepare to be transported back to Victorian England on the infamous moors, full of atmosphere, legends, mystery, passion and so much romance. I love that Emmanuelle writes about strong, independent and experienced women who have learned that women in that era had few resources at their disposal. If a woman wanted to be economically independent and gain a title, she had to use her sex and beauty to attract titled men. Genevieve is a great heroine: widowed, beautiful, sensuous, intelligent and confident in her plan to snare a young heir and keep her beloved estate. But she did not expect to run into the heir's suspicious and wary uncle, Master Benedict. They cannot deny the sexual and romantic attraction they feel but both of them have too much baggage to jump in. The book builds up a maddening sexual attraction until the very beautiful, romantic ending on the windswept moors.
I cannot wait to start the books by some of my other favorites Emily Murdoch and Ashe Barker, and to discover some new favorites in the 16 holiday tales. Well worth your time and investment!

A mixed bag of historical Christmas novellas. Some more erotic than others. I originally bought this for the novella by Nicola Davidson, which I really enjoyed.

I enjoyed the majority of the stories, and have discovered some new must read authors!

Master of the Moor~

I always become engrossed in this author's work. The setting took me right into the story immediately. The struggles Mallon suffered through regarding trusting women. And Genevieve, who was looking for validation and security. They both wanted to love, and they found it set amongst the misty moors. I couldn't put it down until my eyes got heavy. Spellbinding story!

This was a Christmas anthology that was comprised of sixteen beautiful stories comprising of wonderful characters, heroes and heroines all within a compilation of brilliantly innovative settings that ranged from Vikings to Victorian and Regency settings.
Her Mistletoe Promise – Jaye Peaches
Setting within the Napoleonic Wars when a Lieutenant that has been dismissed from his position when he meets a young woman Jenny who agrees to stay until the twelfth night. Their lovemaking is totally amazing and the way he demands her submission in the bedroom seems to appeal to her very being.
Elias wields his control and Jenny is able to relate to his inner sadness heartbreak and loss as she has also experienced similar heartbreak, there are some sexy, erotic moments as they both discover that they each fulfil the others needs and as their feelings grow so does their love.
As Jenny and Elias find the happiness, they have both dreamed of there are plenty of trials and tribulations but love will out! This was a delightful read the characters were delightful and the Napoleonic setting was an interesting spin.
A Wicked Winter Wish – Em Brown
Another really sexy read in the spirit of Christmas, it was filled with the usual larger than life characters and it was also in the true meaning of Christmas as it required the character to be honest and to forgive with all of their heart. The characters were wand think I did but unfortunately discovered that once I began reading one of the stories it was difficult to put the book down until I reached the end, there are in total sixteen individual stories to read and enjoy.
A Christmas Masquerade – Vanessa Brooks
This was another wonderful story complied by this author she always writes the story so that the characters come to life and if you read and picture the setting her marvellous attention to detail enables you to feel at times as though you are actually part of the tale.
I have never yet read anything that Vanessa has written that I have not enjoyed and once again I am happy to say that she once again pulled out all the stops writing a story that is so reflective of the seasons and that once you begin reading you will find it impossible to out down this wonderful book.
Yuletide Yielding – Ashe Barker
A captivating read and based around the Viking Holiday Season it tells the wonderful story of a dominant Viking and his building of a relationship between him and a very wilful and somewhat enticing heroine who he is more than a little enticed by.
A malicious Viking bride to be is able to spread gossip and falsehoods that he knows are totally without proof, however Vikings can at times fall into the habit of believing the wicked gossip spread by evil tongues and there are always those that enjoy spreading misery.
There was a very cleaver resolution to the female and the problems she has set in motion and once you begin reading this story you will find it impossible to put the book down until you discover the final outcome.
I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Wicked Deed On A winter Night by Stacy Reid

I was supposed to read an other book as I got it for review but I felt upset by the main characters and needed a pause.
This book was perfect, I had it from Seduces Under The Mistletoes anthology but as many bundles, I get them for the deal but never read them.
I loved both characters, they makes things do with what life throw on their path, their love for another never flinches even when they have doubts or are hurt.
Miss Primrose Markham is in love with Lord Gabriel Northcote since some years, her sentiments are returned but because of their differences of status, they kept them secret. Now that he is back from war, he thinks it is time to expose in broad daylight their love.
Even for a novella, Mrs Stacy Reid did a great job with her characters, she was able to give them enough depth to make them real and see them struggle when events tear them apart.
A sweet story of two lovers who will stop at nothing except their own doubts to be together.
5 stars

The Gentleman’s Seduction by Lauren Smith

When I saw this new release by Lauren Smith, I did realized it was a sequel of The Duelist’s Seduction I read not so long ago.
Martin in this first book was not very attractive, a cad playing for his living and losing.
Now, years later, he has improved his personality and his wealth but when faced with his past, he is back to be the seventeen young boy who saw his life goes in shambles.
Livvy, despite her youth, is no weak woman, she stands for her father and accepts to see her dreams go to hell with her decision to save her family by selling herself to her father’s debtor.
It is a sweet romance of two persons drawn together but kept apart by the circonstances of their encounter.
This novella is how they will get to find a way to sort out the mess they are in.
A cute short story, 4.5 stars rate.

Mistletoe Mistress by Nicola Davidson

It was a short and sexy read about two alone persons finding themselves estranged in an unknown place and giving free reign to their deepest needs.
It was sad Rachel had been shunned because of her sensual personality, she did nothing wrong and did not hurt anybody but these times were harsh with women, especially regarding sexuality.
Luckily for her, with Arran, she has met an equal soul in the bedroom. They have an instant connection and they instantly feel there is more to expect for them.
It was sweet and naughty to read their time together outside of society expectations. But when it catches up with them, how will they face it.
4,5 stars.

It’s that time of the year again! Time to search of Christmas presents, write Christmas cards AND to read and enjoy Christmas romance stories. I LOVE Christmas stories and especially historical Christmas stories, it gives the story something special for me. So when I discovered this anthology, I was very excited about it. Most writers in the anthology were new to me so it was also a great way to discover new writers.

‘Seduced under the mistletoe’ has 16 NEW stories in it. I was very happy about that because sometimes an anthology consist of stories who were published before. The first story is about a Viking warrior but the rest of the stories are regency themed. The stories are told from both POV’s. Some women are virgins, some aren’t but what all the stories do have in common (beside the Christmas festivity) is that they have some very steamy (I would even say erotic) sex scenes in it. It took me a bit by surprise because these gentlemen are a bit more than passionate. They can be very dominant, especially in the bedroom and they aren’t afraid to give out some spanking when needed (or not).

Of the 16 stories in the anthology there were 11 stories that I really liked and enjoyed. The writing style was good, there were great chemistry between the couple and some good banter. The stories were a 5 or 4 star to me but there were 5 stories that I liked less. Because I couldn’t get into the story or because it missed some depth (or story) in it.)
But I have certainly discovered some new writers that I liked and that I want to read more books of.

So if you are looking for some steamy Christmas stories and you don’t mind some spanking in your story than you have to try this anthology.

Some authors I knew and liked; some are new to me. As the title reveals, the stories are centered around romance at Christmas. Some have more explicit erotic scenes, some have milder sex scenes. A few I could not continue to read as the story / style of writing did not agree with me. Those deserving special mention:

Yuletide Yielding by Ashe Barker: Viking's bed slave
A Christmas Masquerade by Vanessa Brooks
Mistletoe Mistress by Nicola Davidson
The Gentleman’s Seduction by Lauren Smith: Chance at revenge not so sweet.
Bastian’s Surrender by Carole Mortimer
My Lady of Misrule by Amy Rose Bennett
A Wicked Christmas Wish by Em Brown: A rather unique topic: Georgian divorce.
A Bluestocking for Christmas by Viola Morne
The Marriage Game by Gracie Malling
Wicked Deeds on a Winter Night by Stacy Reid Governess and earl's younger son.
The Night Before Scandal by Scarlett Scott
Master of the Moor by Emmanuelle de Maupassant: Unusual setting in Dartmoor.

Wow, this took me quite a time to finish - well it does have 16 sizzling, hot, sexy and erotic stories.

My very favourites were from Nicola Davidson, Lauren Smith, Carole Mortimer, Amy Rose Bennett, Em Brown, Viola Morne, Stacey Reid and Scarlett Scott.

The other eight stories were good reading too, but I loved my faves.

Seduced Under the Mistletoe is an anthology of holiday themed historical romances. So far I’ve been able to read two of the stories, and they’ve been filled with women who know what they want, the dominant men they willingly submit to, holiday cheer, and a chance at finding true love!

Yuletide Yielding by Ashe Barker - Lynet is just a thrall, even a favorite one, but she knows that she’ll never be with the man that she loves beyond his bed thrall. Stian is the jarl’s brother and he knows his duty is to wed for political purposes, but his heart belongs to Lynet. When his wife to be shows up in his town, how will the ladies react to both wanting Stian to be theirs? For such a short little Viking romance, this story sure packed a punch! Lynet and Stian had such an interesting relationship and due to their lifestyles and status, they were never meant to be together in a lasting sense, even if they might have wished for more! I loved the plot of this story, though, and loved that there was a second woman! Just really added a different dynamic! I don’t want to give anything away, but one other aspect of this story that I really loved was experiencing a new culture’s traditions when it came to Yuletide! I really enjoyed this romance and love Ms. Barker’s Vikings!
Her Mistletoe Promise by Jaye Peaches - Jenny has been craving some excitement and adventure after staying with her grandparents, and she finds that when she meets Elias. Elias is a soldier with a poor reputation, but she feels completely drawn to him. Seducing him under the mistletoe is just the beginning when she plans to stay with him for the twelve days of Christmas, but when it’s over, what will come of Jenny and Elias? I really enjoyed this short story, it was sweet with a side of innocent and a heaping of delightful pleasures! I loved that while Jenny and Elias started off kind of as a physical relationship, soon they were learning so much more about each other and really balanced each other out. I love that while Christmas was mentioned, there was a different tradition of the holidays that this focused on that really helped bring Jenny and Elias together and I loved reading through this story!

Steamy variety

Great collection of historical steamy romances with 15 different authors to test out their writing styles. I found 5 new authors to add to my favorites. I love collections like this because they allow you to try multiple new authors with a quick 30 minute storyline that shows off their flair with minimal effort and without having to commit to a full book.

If you are looking for whose naughty and nice, look no further than this steamy set of Yuletide Tales.

In Mistletoe Mistress by Nicola Davidson, Rachel and Aaron are brought together when they are forced to wait out a storm in an overcrowded inn. In order to get a room, they pretend to be married. There is an instant attraction and sizzling chemistry between these two. They are from different stations, but have much in common, including similar tastes in bed sport. Will it be enough to ensure a holiday happily ever after? The road gets bumpy and they will have to work hard to make it happen. Likeable characters and a quick story with a little uncertainty and a few surprises make this a spanking good read.

In Wicked Deeds on a Winter Night by Stacy Reid, Captain Gabriel Northcote, second son of the Earl of Fairclough, returns home from the war to claim Primrose Markham, his sister’s governess as his bride. Although she is beautiful and intelligent, his family disapproves (vehemently). When Gabriel falls gravely ill, the family refuses to allow Primrose to care for him; they won’t even let her see him. Convinced he has been betrothed to another, Primrose disappears with a broken heart and a little secret. Has Gabriel’s family succeeded? Let us hope not! An endearing hero and heroine and a story that requires you keep a hanky nearby make this tale one that wins a spot in the book of love.

I love Christmas stories and love Regency Period romance tales. No surprise that I was delighted to get my hands on Seduced Under the Mistletoe: 16 Sizzling Novellas. Several of these are by authors I’ve enjoyed before, so I fully anticipate that they are the Christmas-themed “Passionate Historical Romances” promised by kindle. Indeed, that is certainly the case with the first that I’ve read, Ellie St. Clair’s Duke of Christmas. A perfect second chance romance that’s perfectly set into a Christmas tale. And a perfect set of characters in spirited Lady Marie Colemore and her Duke, Lionel Harrington, who discovers almost too late just how foolish he’d been to long avoid his betrothed. Pure yumminess. Since I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I will stop for now - except to note that, quite frankly, the set is worth it’s price for this tale alone. Nonetheless I can’t wait to read the others.

I would estimate that 90% of these stories are about a busty redhead who finds pleasure in being spanked. There are one or two actually good stories, but I'm not sure they make it worth the read.
