Sister Trixie Lavender here! After a rocky start (read: murdered landlord) to our arrival in Cobbler Cove, OR, things have finally slowed down. Er…mostly. My demon buddy Coop and I, along with our sassy talking owl Livingston, have settled nicely into our newly opened shop, Inkerbelle’s Tattoos. We’ve met some awesome people, including new friends Higgs and Knuckles, and we’re forging friendships with our fellow business owners. And sure, we’ve had a few glitches (see Jeff), but we’ve found our groove, our clientele is growing, and everything’s pretty great. That is, until Portland’s World Naked Bike Ride finds us smack dab in the middle of another murder mystery! Yep, you read that right. Naked people. On bikes. It ain’t pretty. And even less so when a dead, bare biker lands right on our doorstep. But this ex-nun is prepared this time. There’s not going to be any fumbling-around-in-the-dark nonsense for this girl. No, sir. I’ve trained, sacrificed, studied… Okay. Not true. I’ve binge-watched a lot of police shows on Netflix. But I’m armchair ready, if nothing else. So ready! Now, if only the evil spirit possessing me would let me investigate in peace—and I don’t end up dead in the process. Join me, Coop, Livingston, and Higgs for another Nun of Your Business Mystery!

Talking animals from hell. That’s the beginning of this 2nd book in the Nun of Your Business Mystery series. Per the author, and I agree, these books should be read in order. Full of funny cliches, one liners and old trivia worthy phrases, this paranormal cozy mystery is a hoot. The bumbling amateur sleuth gets in the middle of another death investigation in the name of protecting her friends. Relationships are deepening between the main characters as the storyline and arc progresses. Lots of questions on my head about upcoming dangling clues: will more develop between Trixie and Cross? Will Coop’s fixation on Alexis Carrington go further? Will the owl and the dog become friends and will a new talking animal join the crew in the next book? Crazy questions for a crazy cozy mystery series.
This is a fun, and entertaining Cozy mystery. The storyline quickly drew me in and kept me turning the pages. The characters are zany, fun, and had me laughing at some of their antics. I enjoyed following along trying to solve the mystery along with the cast of characters. This is a great story and a terrific series.
Sister Trixie is at it again. This time she literally stumbled over a dead body at the threshold of her tattoo shop 🤦🏾♀️. On top of that, it’s soon discovered that the dead man’s wife is an old flame of Knuckles. Ohhh the widow, she is a piece of work, she’s so bad that even the patience of an ex nun such as Trixie is tested and keeping her inner demon on a leash around that woman is proving to be a task. Together with Higgs ( what’s going on there by the way) Trixie decides to investigate in order to protect Knuckles from the wiles of this wicked woman 😄. Knuckles who seems to be falling under her spell. Coop and Livingston step in to help as well. Untangling relationship woes, deceptions, betrayals may just prove to be Trixie’s undoing this time around. Plus what is that message from Hell that Jeff (the dog) just cannot remember??? Solid 4+ stars
4 Stars... Sister Trixie Lavender and the gang are pulled into another mystery when a man literally falls dead on their doorstep... In order to protect her friend, Trixie must delve into the twisted relationships of the rich and famous and unravel the secrets and deceptions that prevail there... Keeping her inner demon on a tight leash proves to be a challenge when these suspects start pushing her emotional buttons leaving her vulnerable to it's machinations... It will take all the strength, determination, and patience Trixie can muster to solve the case... Another endearing and zany adventure with a fun cast of characters led by one loyal, brave, and heartfelt ex-nun:)
Book 2 of this series is equally as good as the first. Dakota has a way with words and Hollie Jackson is GREAT at vocalizing them.

A Nun and a Mystery Sister Trixie Lavender here! And sure, we’ve had a few glitches (see Jeff), but we’ve found our groove, our clientele is growing, and everything’s pretty great. Ex-Nun Trixie Lavender finds mystery wherever she goes. A celebrity is the culprit and pushes the blame off on others. I own this book. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.
Trixie and company once again are in the midst of what can only be described as a head shaking turn of events that was a combination with an old episode of either The Three Stooges or Murder She Wrote put together somehow in a chaotic way.
For me it's hard to choose at this point which one I pick as the most relevant but either way this second foray into the series kept me entertained and a little bit unsure of whether it mattered who did what to whom by the time all was revealed.
Sister Trixie Lavender and Coop solve another murder.
When the naked body of a murderer bicycle rider ends up in front of Inkerbelle, Trixie is on the case to figure out who done it. The body ends up being the husband of Knuckle's ex-girlfriend, by she is not a good person and everyone what's her gone. This is a good series with ex-nun Trixie trying to solve the murder while also possessed with a demon and also helping her demon friend Coop adjust to living with humans.
Enjoyable little story. The combination of the highly-hyphenated possessed-ex-nun and a gorgeous demon just trying to blend in with the addition of a hoot of a demon-owl might just be genius. In this age of the snarky, kick-ass heroine, it is nice to discover at least one author is writing series with heroines who are genuinely nice...not buried under attitude nice, but just, simply NICE. Refreshing.
Enjoyable and entertaining read. As always this series just keeps getting better and better. Full of humor and suspense to keep you hooked from beginning to end. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest The characters + storytelling were very captivating SIster Trixie + Cooper are involved in another murder mystery. Let's not forget the always so cute Livingston! He always cracks me up. It has all the ingredients that you need for an awesome book! I can't wait for the next book in the series!
Sister Trixie Lavender just keeps gaining friends and falling over dead bodies. In this case a naked dead body, is there really a nude bike ride??? This time Trixie helps the exgirlfriend of Knuckles prove she is innocent of murder, the problem is her personality is enough to turn a nun to a demon. What more can I say? Dakota Cassidy did it again.
Things have settled down for Coop and Trixie, right up until they didn't. During the annual "Naked Bike Ride" (yes, naked) getting ready for some celebs to come in for new ink, Trixie yet again stumbles (quite literally) over another corpse! So much for the coffee! Come join Trixie, Coop, Knckles and the rest of the cast in this latest twisty-turny whodunit!
I cannot day enough good things about this author and this series! The characters who are quirky and real, keep becoming deeper and deeper. There are some backstories and history that carry from one book to the next so I recommend reading in order, but the big mystery is solved in one book.
Fun, sweet, quirky cozy mystery. Hit and Nun has Inkerbelle’s open and thriving. But when Trixie trips over a naked dead guy things get real interesting real fast. I laughed out loud and gigglesnorted my way through this silly murder mystery.
Trixie and Coop are adjusting in their tattoo parlor, Inkerbells. Trixie trips over the naked body on their doorstep. She then starts investing the man’s death to help out her friend, Knuckles. Of course, she solves the mystery.
A talking dog, talking Owl and a demon plus Trixie Lavender an ex nun with something a little bit extra. Tricia falls over a naked biker on her doorstep. She wants to find out why he's dead and gets into trouble as usual. I can't wait to read the next book.
Did not finish-DNF. It gets to be tedious when each female around the main character is gorgeous and blah blah blah. It’s also hard to connect with the main character when she’s trying to save everybody when they didn’t ask. Meh 😑
I always love Dakota Cassidy, and this series is no exception. It's a little weird, but it's lots of fun. I really like Sister Trixie and the odd but sweet cast of characters who have become her family.
I love it when I guess at least part of the answer. It’s been awhile since I read the first one, so I was glad of a little recap. A most interesting setting-world n@ked bike ride.
The series is just fine. I was hoping it would get better with each book but it hasn’t. It has such a good premise (a demon-possessed nun and her escaped-from-Hell demon friends) that it seems much better use could be made of it. I don’t know that I’ll finish the series.
Enjoyed the 2nd book in this series. Fun seeing how well Coop is integrating to human life, how brave Trixie is, and the relationships between all the characters. Can't wait to read the next one!
I really like Dakota Cassidy's writing. Her dialogue is great and the characters are fabulous. The situations are very funny and make for great reading.
