Quickie little number
————————-
In the mood for a spicy little quickie? I love this series of these little Novellas, perfect for a break from the monotony or burnout from another book.

I love this story and I really wish it was a full length book. The author did a great job with her story and the development of her characters.

Slade is so sweet and damn hot too! Definitely a steamy diversion!!

Wow, Wow!  I loved reading this book! This was a short, fast paced, steamy erotic romance!

I really wish it was longer, I feel like this book has so much potential to be more than a 62 paged novella...

This is the first book I’ve read of author Dani René and it wont be the last! Can’t wait to read more by her! I recommend it!

Dirty Bits is the perfect description for these books. MADD Ink was a short and dirty with a side of sweet. Hero is a tattooed, bad boy who’s also a police detective. Heroine is a tattoo artist and single mom of a beautiful little girl. She’s jaded by her daughters father. Shade is known as a total womanizer and the reason Ryan won’t give him a chance...that is until Slade wore her down. Because of the shortness, the relationship moves very quickly. It’s a great book for when you got an hour or two to relax and read. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Like previous books I’ve read by this author this book is oh so good. It’s a novella which can be read pretty quickly. Be warned once you start you won’t wanna put it down until you’ve finished it. It’s that kinda book.

Ryn Callan is brilliant. (Well she would be with Callan as her surname :) ) She’s a single mum working hard to bring up her daughter alone. She’s kept men at a wide berth due to being hurt in the past. Then Slade Maddox walks in and he’s infatuated by her. He wants to break down that thick wall she’s built around herself and her daughter. Read it to see if he succeeds.

I highly recommend this little gem. I’m really looking forward to reading more from this author.

This was a very well executed short story. I know that doesn't sound like high praise, but it is. I'm not gonna lie and say any of it wow'd me or surprised me, but the author impressed me. The story was not rushed. The romance felt natural and flowed at a very good pace. So yes, for a short story, this delivered quite nicely. More cases than less, short stories fall short in one way or another. I was waiting for it to happen with Madd Ink and it never did. Well done!

Well this was a pretty good short read. I wasn't even aware it was a short until I was done with it. LOL

Ryn is a single mom who has serious trust issues when it comes to men, with good reason. She's also a spit fire blonde with piercings and tattoos. She's finally living her dream of being an artist, through tattooing, and although she hasn't dated in years, she's not exactly looking for someone. But that all changes when her boss' best friend makes the moves on her.

Slade is a detective who's a renowned ladies man. As Ryn stated, he "f*!ks em and chucks em". But let's face it. He's super easy on the eyes and when he turns on the charm, he's down right irresistible. He doesn't like commitment and can't see himself settling down. But after finally looking and speaking with Ryn, he knows that she's a game changer. But he also has to step up his game because it's not just Ryn he needs to impress.

This was a cute read. I'm not typically a fan of single mom/dad books, but this one worked. Probably because it WAS so short. The sexual tension/release between these two was just the right amount. And I found the daughter to be super adorable. Ok, yes. Roxie stole the show for me. I'm officially a sucker.

All in all, if you're looking for a quick read while on a plane, waiting at the DMV or up with insomnia, this is a perfect book.

Looking for a quick steamy heartfelt story? Slade and Ryn’s one is for you! Ryn is a single mother doing all she can to support herself and her daughter and I think she’s doing incredible. Slade is a bit cocky at first but seeing past that once he’s introduced to Roxie makes me fall head over heels for him. This story is sexy and sweet that flowed beautifully with a HEA ending. It just goes to show you that what’s on the surface is not all there is, looking under the outside layers you’ll find out the truth. Not everyone is how how they appear on the outside. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Slate and Run were super hot. This was such a quick, fun and dirty read. I loved the Hot, alpha and dominant Slade and the sassy and fiery Ryn. I loved how she turned him down and made him work for her attention. All in all this was fantastic!

Holy hell what a great story! I almost tripped over my tongue a few times in this one.
Meet Ryn and Slade. Ryn, the quiet, sweet tattoo artist single mom of Roxie. Run works for Jag and his girlfriend Ava, a great female presence in the shop. Slade is a total man whore and I wasn't sure I was going to warm up to him in the beginning but it didn't take long. It was his interactions with Roxie that did it.
He wants Ryn and Ryn turns him down. Apparently no one turns down Slade, but Ryn's been burned badly and has Roxie to think about. Slowly she lets him in, the chemistry between these two is smokin' hot and I loved the way he took to Roxie and she to him.
Dani wrote this so vividly it was like watching a little movie play out. I could picture the whole book.
I loved it. I like this little bits books and would love to read more. I'm curious about Jag and Ava.
Madd Ink is a winner!! Great story Dani!

I can not get over Ryn and Slade. And even Roxie! Slade was so much more than I expected. A bad boy cop with a heart of gold. And Ryn. She was so much more as well. "Never judge a book by its ink"- words to remember and words to live by. This series has impressed me for the simple fact that these novellas are jam packed with all the emotions and steaminess that you could ask for! Can't wait to see what's next!

This story made me so angry. Not something you want from a supposed romance.

A self-professed man-whore (who also says she'd be surprised that he doesn't fuck around as much as she'd think) suddenly decides he wants to be with a single mom. Why? From her actions alone she doesn't seem to have any particular regard for protecting her daughter. (Seriously? You're going to take your daughter with you on a first date? Then you can't whine about not wanting your daughter to get too attached.) Nothing explains why he has a sudden change of heart. She's worried that he'll eventually get bored (he reflects on previous hook-ups becoming boring), and yet within a matter of days you're doing the Funky Monkey? Within two months you're living together?

Listen, girl. You can't know he's got staying power if it's only been a few weeks. I understand the author wants us to think they have this passionate connection (and she's apparently got a magical vagina that cures him of his need to stick it into every hole), but I just wasn't buying it. As a single mother that brought nothing to the story, and the way it was handled disgusted me. I would not let the men I dated meet my son for MONTHS.

Oh! And the library classifies this as "friends to lovers". There was no friendship. He'd come into the tattoo parlor and get inked by someone else, hit on her and be rejected, lather, rinse, repeat. After some time he gets an appointment with her and that's when it all happens. Honestly? She was a challenge and he'll be bored with her within a year. But at that point having unprotected sex means she'll be left with two young children and no husband.

If the rest of René's writing is like this, I'll be steering well clear.

This was, sadly, a little disappointing. Part of the Dirty Bits books from Carina Press, I was not expecting a totally fleshed out story, but I had hoped to find more of a connection between the characters than sex. And even the sex seemed disingenuous. It was like being told they were hot for each other, and not showing me.

I also had trouble with the very basic character development. Slade's characters is this total man whore who literally all of a sudden wants nothing more than to settle down with Ryn and her little girl. WHY? There was not enough internal dialogue, or discussions with friends, indicating that he was actually wanting to settle down any time soon. He goes from kicking a woman out of his bed, to later that day deciding he was going to win Ryn over. It's too abrupt, no history, and left me unhappy.

Because of the nature of this series of books, I really didn't need there to be a huge plot or anything like that, just an extra page or two that displayed how these characters felt, why they felt it, and not just because it meant great sex and security. It was okay, but only just.

I’ve heard of Ms. René before, but it wasn’t until I saw a teaser for Madd Ink that got me thinking, I NEED to read that! I got it, I read it — I loved it. It was a great little book and I will definitely be picking up more from Ms. René in the future!

I loved Slade and Ryn as people and I loved their relationship. They’re both good, strong people and it wasn’t a hardship at all to be in their heads. I loved the banter between them, the teasing, and how Ryn tried to resist Slade, but he didn’t give up on her and they completely fell for each other.

Man, oh man, does Madd Ink put the dirty in Carina Press’ Dirty Bits line! It was hot and and full of heat and tension. There was more to it though, there were some truly sweet, heart melting moments. You can read Madd Ink in one sitting and it’s the perfect book if you’re in the mood for an alpha, a strong heroine, and good, fun, naughty, sweet times.

Madd Ink is a standalone, it’s told from Slade and Ryn’s POV, and they do get their HEA ending.

"Her smile lights up a room, but Ryn's smile lights up my entire f*cking world."
I just had to get that out there ... talk about swoony! Good Lord!
I admit, I fell in LOVE with Jagger Pierce after the first paragraph of Pierced Ink and could NOT WAIT for this book to come out. I'm talking chomping at the bit excited and, as usual, Ms. Rene' did not disappoint! Slade Maddox is as delicious as Ryn is cute. I loved this couple and their super sweet romance. And Roxie! Oh, my gosh, what an adorable little pixie! The scenes with she and Slade are so dreamy! I just loved it!

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Slade is a player. There is just no way around it. He likes playing the field and having a new woman each night. Despite his partner's warnings that someday he's be drawn to just one woman, Slade just doesn't believe that.

Ryn is working hard to ensure that her daughter, Roxie, has an amazing life. Ryn is talented and patient with her clients, but the one client she can't really stand is Slade. When her boss asks her to take a last minute client, she readily agrees. However, when Slade walks in, she regrets that. She is attracted to Slade, but also knows his reputation.

I liked how Ryn was able to set aside her preconceived notions about Slade. She allowed him to show her just the kind of man he could be with her by his side. Slade was kind and gentle with both Ryn and Roxie. He grew as a character drastically throughout this short story.

While there were some aspects that were very fast and not well explained, you could tell that Ryn and Slade had great chemistry.

I loved this quick steamy read with the add bonus of family. It had a little home is where the heart is. The main characters within Madd Ink were the sub characters within Pierced Ink.

I didn't know Ryn was going to be Slade's love interest but I'm glad it was her over another. She made Slade work for it and prove that he was more than just a man whore. I believe Slade found just the right woman to set him straight.

This story killed me in such a delightful way. I made the mistake of reading this book during my lunch break at my office and holy heck you should not be reading this story alone. Ryn and Slade are just the perfect couple and I loved the tension at the beginning between them (and might have wished for a bit more of a build up) and holy heck their steam is off the charts! Dani Rene did a great job of writing this story not just for pure steam (although that is present) but also for the characters. While this is a crazy quick read and I would love a fuller story of these characters it was a great read.

It is always fun to see the strong alpha re-evaluating what he never knew he wanted

Another short story in this series.....and if you can get past the insta-attraction, insta-sex, and insta-love, it was good! Haha!

Slade is a detective and Ryn a tattoo artist. I loved their connection and the sex was HOT!

Quick fast read that keep you invested from the beginning. Slade is a guy who usually doesn't sleep with the same girl twice. Until he meets Ryn at his friend's tattoo parlor. She is what he has been looking for and he won't take no for an answer.

I am a big fan of these short stories, and I enjoy the premise greatly. I think the idea behind this one was really good, but somehow the story didn't flow as well as some of the others. I found that there are some elements which didn't quite make sense to me.

It is a sweet, as well as sexy story, and gives the reader some super sexy moments, and a desirable ending.

Short sexy novella that pairs up with Pierced Ink. Standalone, but Jagger and Ava from Pierced Ink do make appearances. If you haven't had the privilege to read their story, please do so, cause it's a hot little number as well.

Dani Rene has entertained me again in Madd Ink with her bad boy, cocky attitude and a single, tatted mother who has been burned in the past by men. Both slowly come together proving to themselves and one another that conquering your obstacles in life can form a life of happiness and love.

"I can't help seeing a man who I know will be my end. He's going to take me and make me his and I have no way of stopping him."

"I've never begged a woman, never had to ask twice."
At first we see Slade Maddox with a typical a$$hole nature but when he pairs up with Ryn Callan we see he has a different personality; one that I grew to like. I really liked Ryn, maybe due to the fact she's a mother and her world revolves around her daughter, but to see her loosen the strings and let Slade in slowly not for herself but the future of her daughter is remarkable. Their chemistry was hot, his alpha-ness was sinful.

The only reason I couldn't add one more star is that I felt it lacked the "uh-oh" moment. The climax of something big. For Slade to mess up, for Slade to come to the rescue... even though I feel that way, I enjoyed this book a lot. Loved the characters and the storyline.

Another favorite quote:
"I want you to unravel, break apart and shatter for me so I can f*#k you back together."

I always love a Dani René read weather it's a full length or short novella and Madd Ink is no exception. This was a short, fast paced, steamy romance. After first meeting both Ryn and Slade in Pierced Ink i couldn't wait to see how Dani would bring these two strong headed people together. If you haven't read Pierced Ink don't worry both novella's can be read as standalones.

Ryn Callan is a hard working single mum, after being burned by her ex everything she does is for her and her daughters well being. She’s strong minded and keeps men at a distance due to being hurt in the past.

Slade Maddox is a self confessed man whore, but that all changes when he gets to know the blonde bomb that is Ryn. There's just something about her that makes him want more and he's determined to break down the ice wall she's built up around herself.

Their chemistry was hot and they worked so well together i can honestly say i could see and WOULD love to see both Pierced Ink and Madd Ink being turned into full length novels!!

Short sexy novella that shows some characters from Pierced Ink. It can be read as a standalone, but Jagger and Ava from Pierced Ink do make an appearance. This was just ok. I’m not a huge fan of instalove stories, but they really bug me when there are inconsistencies. I would expect in a book that is less than 100 pages simple errors will be caught, so hopefully this goes through a few more rounds of edits before release. I can’t say too much without spoiling it, but Slade is portrayed as a bad boy with a string of one-night stands who sets his sights on tattoo artist Ryn. She is a single mom who doesn’t trust men. I didn’t connect with them at all unfortunately. I didn’t need a big twist to enjoy it, but I at least couldn’t be saying, “really, why would you do that” in my head the whole time.

Hero 3 stars / Heroine 3 stars / Steam 3 stars / Plot 3 stars / Overall 3 Stars

I’m pleasantly surprise I was fully prepared for some thing to go tits up and for him to leave her heartbroken or that her baby daddy would turn up causing some drama... I loved that it didn’t happen, sometimes I read books and they have unnecessary chew added into the mix 🙈 ⁣

I fell in love with Jag a little bit more in this ugh could he be anymore perfect. ⁣

Roxie is the cutest ever 😍 her connection with Slade was adorable 🥰⁣

Slade did a whole 180 and I was living for it, again I’m shocked usually books have them being tainted by the past and that’s why the sleep around but he simply just hadn’t found anyone that made him feel like settling down but him and Ryn ... ooo that spark and fire 🔥 the way he took to Roxie and reassured Ryn numerous times he wasn’t gonna hurt them I loved it. Total babe! 💙

Dani Rene writes a lot of books that I enjoy reading. Some of them are dark and twisted. Some of them are not. Some of them are light, fluffy pieces of mind-candy that will give you a nice, hot happy. This one falls into the latter category. I'll definitely be keeping it around for days when I need something quick and easy to read.

Ryn learned that men can't be trusted. She's more than willing to stick with that lesson when notorious man slut Slate Maddox shows an interest in her. She doesn't want to be a notch in his bedpost and she doesn't want to let him in her life if he's just going to get bored and walk away. Slade is bound and determined to break through her walls.

Very hot and steamy, very quick and easy to read. I liked the byplay between Ryn and Slade. They are magnetic and so drawn to each other. Great read.

Carina Press recently came out with a new imprint called "The Dirty Bits". They are short novellas that are meant to be read in an hour or two. They are usually insta-love and pretty steamy. Madd Ink is the first one I picked up. Novellas are fun, quick reads, but they never seem long enough for me.

I did end up liking Madd Ink. I liked the relationship between Ryn and Slade. It wasn't completely insta-love as they did seem to spend time together before ending up in the bedroom. I just wish it was longer. There was definitely a lot of back story, I would have loved for both characters. I wanted more of Slade as a cop. It would have been a great longer novel. If you are in for a quick steamy romance, I recommend this one.
