Sydney Bell knows exactly how far is too far when it comes to the law. She’s a cop’s daughter, after all. But the lines between right and wrong become blurred when it involves matters of the heart.
After a devastating divorce, she escapes to the small lakeside town of Maisonville to pick up the shattered pieces of her life and make a fresh start.
Unfortunately, her past isn’t ready to let go. When her ex shows up, the real reason Sydney moves is revealed. To make matters worse, the handsome guy next door won’t stop helping, even when she doesn’t want him to.
Ryan Gentry is living his dream; the perfect job, a house on the lake, and the peace and quiet he always wanted. At least until the opinionated red-headed Sydney moves in next door. Chaos trails her wherever she goes. He doesn’t want to get involved, but what is a nice guy supposed to do?
As she works to make a new life for herself, she’s reminded that a small town can heal your soul, sparring with an arrogant neighbor can build self-esteem, and true friendship has the ability to make you a better person.
Come to Maisonville and fall in love with unforgettable people who face life's challenges with courage, heart, and hope. For lovers of riveting and inspirational sagas about families, secrets, romance, friendships…and the moments that make life worth living.

The Fix pulled me forward through strong characters, vivid setting, action and heart. A delightful journey of romance, healing and redemption I read in three sittings.
I loved this book. It was entertaining and the plot line was interesting and comfortably predictable. I read it within a few days which is fast for me. I can't wait to read book 2.
The first book in a new series for me. This is a love story that touches on divorce, custody issues, and mental illness. "Sydney Bell knows exactly how far is too far when it comes to the law. Sydney and Ryan started on the wrong foot. Or should I say first meeting was a disaster. But that just led to them becoming more interested in each other. I loved that their relationship developed slowly even though the attraction was there from almost the beginning. The only thing that felt weird from this story was how casual it was becoming friends with the women Ryan took to his home for a wild time in bed. For a small town where everyone knows each other. I almost thought I was going to stumble upon a jealous lover, I was relieved and disappointed at the same time that no such drama was encounter. Other than that it was a fun read and I would definitely read it again.
The story really grabs the readers attention from the get-go. Lisa Herrington does a great job being descriptive and allowing the reader to feel like they are immersed in the story.
I was surprised at how fresh and how many surprises there were in this story. What a wonderful job of keeping the reader invested in the story and its characters!
Characterization is key in any novel and I felt like Sydney was a great main character with real problems that the reader can relate to. She was easy to get behind and root for through the novel.I loved the way that she opened up and accepted Ryan throughout the novel.
What a perfect read for someone who wants some romance along with depth. This novel will definitely pull at your heartstrings. The main character has gone through a divorce and I think that many women can relate to that.
This was a sweet novel about self-discovery, self-worth, and making yourself happy despite the opinions of others. I really enjoyed the romance and the connection between the leads.
The pacing in the story was well done and the story itself was well-developed. I really enjoyed Sydney's character and the growth she showed.
A well developed plot, a heartwarming romance, and characters you will cling to, The Fix is a great addition to the Romance genre!
Every time I had to put this down, it pissed me off. And it took me a few days to read it, so imagine how upset I was for those days. I needed to know what was going on and how it was all going to unfold. Highly recommend, but find a quiet place to lock yourself in.
This book was a total waste of time. It started out slow, really picked up and then major flopped. For a long drawn out saga, the last couple of chapters were crammed into a happy, but very predictable and unrealistic ending. This was pathetic. I will not waste any more time on this author.
This story kept me on edge right to the end! So much emotion! So many twists and turns! This is no storybook romance! People can be so complicated! Mental illness doesn't just affect one person, it affects everyone who comes in contact with the person who is ill! That is a tragedy for all concerned!
Really enjoyed this story of Sydney and Ryan. I found the book hard to put down and read it in a couple days. Excellent beach read! The title says it's book one. Hoping book two comes out soon. Recommended.
When I first start reading this book I thought it was just going to be another romance novel with not much volume to it.....nothing to sink my teeth into but I was wrong. It held my attention and the more I read the less I wanted to put it down. I will read the second in the series.
This concept was cute but I couldn’t finish it. The writing was just not strong enough, it needed some better technique. The plot just fell flat with long-winded scenes and weird dialogue. Characterization was all over the map and I just couldn’t stay invested.
Great book..stayed up too late reading ...couldn't put it down
This is a wonderful book about second chances and healing. There is just enough bantering to make it interesting and the settling of child custody was a real unexpected surprise!!!
I really enjoyed reading this author, Lisa Herrington! Her characters were complex but very lovable. The story was heartwarming and informative. I will be reading more of her books and recommending her to my friends and family. Read and enjoy!
Loved the characters. Story draws you in. Finished it quickly. Basically clean romance (there are scenes in the bedroom but they are NOT explicit). Will read more from this author
The twist at the end was a good one but the love story was completely unbelievable and using his full name regularly was annoying. I won’t be reading the rest of the series.
Sydney Bell is running away from her ex-husband who kicked her out, she loves his kids. Ryan Gentry lives next door to her. He sees that she needs help but she is stubborn.
